London Philharmonic Orchestra

London, United Kingdom

Uniquely groundbreaking and exhilarating to watch and hear, the London Philharmonic Orchestra has been celebrated as one of the world’s great orchestras since it was founded in 1932. Based at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, we’re at the heart of London’s cultural life, with residencies across the UK and regular tours across the globe. In 2024 we marked 60 years as Resident Symphony Orchestra at Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Edward Gardner has been our Principal Conductor since 2021, succeeding Vladimir Jurowski (now Conductor Emeritus), and Karina Canellakis is our Principal Guest Conductor. One of the world’s most-streamed orchestras, we’re also one of the most successful worldwide on social media and online. Our sound features on countless film scores, and our own LPO Label celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025. Through our Education and Community programme, we inspire young musicians – from first encounters with music to developing the next generation of professionals.
