Abstract - In today’s dynamic academic environment,
an effective and sustainable platform that ensures continuous engagement between students and alumni.
fostering continuous engagement between alumni and current students is vital for mentorship, professional guidance, and career advancement. However, traditional platforms often lack intelligent systems to streamline these interactions. AlumniConnect is a smart web-based platform designed to bridge this gap by connecting students and alumni through modern AI-powered tools and intuitive user interfaces.
Traditional alumni systems are often limited to periodic emails or annual meetups, lacking intelligent tools to facilitate real-time, meaningful interactions. Moreover, students frequently find it difficult to reach out to the right alumni for specific guidance, whether it be related to job referrals, resume building, or career advice. The absence of personalized engagement mechanisms and automated tools further hampers the effectiveness of these networks.
The platform offers a diverse set of features, including an AIpowered resume reviewer that provides real-time feedback and suggestions tailored to specific job roles, and an interactive chatbot that addresses student queries related to academics, careers, and opportunities. Additionally, it hosts a smart alumni directory for filtering based on domain, batch, and location, facilitating meaningful networking. Students can also request job and internship references directly from alumni. An admin panel is incorporated to manage users, events, and data insights effectively.
To address these challenges, we propose AlumniConnect, a modern, AI-enhanced alumni engagement platform that serves as a digital bridge between students and alumni. This platform integrates AI-powered features like resume feedback, intelligent chatbots, and searchable alumni directories, all designed to create a seamless networking and mentorship experience. It empowers students to access valuable knowledge and opportunities while enabling alumni to give back to their institution through guidance and support.
Built using technologies such as ReactJS, Node.js, MongoDB, and OpenAI APIs, AlumniConnect not only enhances the quality of student-alumni interactions but also ensures scalability and ease of use for administrators. This paper presents the design, development, and implementation of the platform, highlighting how modern technology can create impactful academic ecosystems. The proposed solution is expected to significantly improve communication, mentorship access, and professional growth opportunities for students, while strengthening alumni relations with the institution.
This research paper outlines the motivation, design, features, and technical aspects behind the development of AlumniConnect, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize alumni-student relationships in the academic domain.
1.1 Problem Statement In today’s digital age, alumni are an untapped resource for institutions in terms of knowledge sharing, mentorship, networking, and career opportunities. However, most colleges and universities lack a structured digital system to connect with their alumni effectively. Communication is often limited to outdated methods like newsletters, occasional events, or informal social media groups, which do not provide systematic engagement or data tracking. This results in missed opportunities for both alumni and students.

1.INTRODUCTION In educational institutions, alumni represent one of the most valuable yet underutilized resources. They are not only the legacy of the institute but also act as a bridge between the academic environment and the professional world. A strong alumni network can provide current students with mentorship, job opportunities, industry insights, and motivation to achieve academic and professional goals. However, most colleges and universities struggle to maintain
