Mensagem da Presidente da Fundação SOS Cabo Verde
Como se pode imaginar, não será fácil escrever este texto, sem ser, para referir a situação particular, que todos vivemos, desde os primeiros meses de 2020. Muitas questões! Muitas dúvidas!

O certo é que todos estamos a pagar, a um preço muito alto, as más práticas de uma grande maioria da população mundial, durante longos anos, contra o nosso meio ambiente, contra a ordem natural da vida.
O AMBIENTE CONSTRUIDO ESTÁ DESTRUINDO O AMBIENTE NATURAL!
E agora, não adianta chorarmos sobre o leite derramado! Nem procurar culpados! Agora é hora de agir certo!
- Repondo a ordem natural das coisas; - Explorando com consciência os recursos naturais; - Preservando os bens naturais, resgatando a dignidade social; - Diminuindo o nosso ritmo de consumo; - Tendo acções socio-ambientais; - Investindo em fontes renováveis de energia; - Refl orestando.
Enfi m devolvendo ao nosso planeta, tudo o que lhe temos tirado, para que ele volte a ser um lugar seguro para vivermos.
A familia SOS Cabo Verde, desde a sua Direcção Nacional, Equipas Directivas de suas Aldeias e o Centro Social, às crianças e jovens, e muito particularmente as nossas cuidadoras mais directas ( mães e tias) tem, até este momento, enfrentado e cumprido, com a maior consciência e responsabilidade, serenidade e saber fazer, todas as restrições e normas, impostas pela conjuntura.
Essa postura de manter a saúde, física, psico-emocional, de todos, em tempos tão desafi antes, e difíceis, mereceu um reconhecimento escrito de toda a direcção da Fundação das Aldeias SOS de Cabo Verde, o que muito nos regozija e orgulha.
Ficamos na esperança dos melhores dias que, certamente virão.

Message from the President of the SOS Children´s Villages Cabo Verde Foundation
As you can imagine, it is not easy to write this text, without being, to refer the particular situation that we have all been experiencing since the fi rst months of 2020. many questions! Many doubts!
What is certain is that we are all paying a very high price for the bad practices of a large majority of the world’s population against our environment, against the natural order of life, for many years.
THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT IS DESTROYING THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT!
And now, it’s no use crying over spilled milk! Don’t even look for culprits! Now it’s time to do the right thing!
- Restoring the natural order of things; - Consciously exploring natural resources; - Preserving natural resources, rescuing social dignity; - Reducing our rate of consumption; - Taking socio-environmental actions; - Investing in renewable energy sources; - Reforesting.
Finally, giving back to our planet everything we have taken from it, so that it becomes again a safe place for us to live.
The SOS Cabo Verde family, from it’s National Directorate, their Village Staff and the Social Centre, to children, youth, and particularly our most direct carers (mothers and aunts) have, until now, faced and complied, with the greatest awareness and responsibility, serenity and knowhow, with all the restrictions and norms, imposed by the situation.
This posture of maintaining the health, physical, psycho-emotional, of everyone, in such challenging and diffi cult times, deserved a written recognition from all the board of the Foundation of the SOS Villages of Cabo Verde, which we are very pleased and proud of.
We look forward to the best days that will surely come.
