DaijiworldMediaNetwork–Udupi
Udupi, Sept 3: Anirudh Sean Gonsalves, a young sound engineer from Barkur, Karnataka, has charted an extraordinary course from his hometown to the global stage of theGrammyAwards.
Currently based in Orlando, Florida, Sean is a Mastering Engineer at Hacienda Mastering. He played a pivotal behind-the-scenes role in the Grammy-nominated album
Solid Rock Revival, a star-studded collaboration featuring rock legend Alice Cooper, guitar icon Slash, and hip-hop pioneer Darryl “DMC” McDanielsofRUNDMC.
Released in late 2024, the album earned a GRAMMY® nomination under the Best Childrenʼs Music Album category at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards hosted by The RecordingAcademy. The record was spearheaded by the Norelli Family Foundation (Florida), a philanthropic organisation founded in 2013 with a mission to uplift children and young adults in need. Known for its work with institutions such as St Jude Childrenʼs Hospital, New Hope for Kids, the St Cecilia Foundation, and
Sunshine State Kids, the foundation launched this project under the nameRock for Children and turnedupthevolume.
Under this initiative, Alice Cooper led a powerful collaboration joined by Slash and DMC, integrating a chorus of teenagers from the foundationʼs youth centres to sing alongsidethesemusicallegends.
Behind the albumʼs sonicpolish
stoodaudiogiantsHowie Weinberg, who prepared the digital masters, and the Hacienda Mastering team, including Sean Gonsalves and his mentor Matt
Davis. Sean handled vinyl premastering, a specialised process crucial to delivering pristine audio
quality for vinyl listeners. His contribution directly impacts the recordʼs fundraising success, with vinyl sales supporting the
foundation'scharitablework.
Sean and Davisʼs engineering partnership extends well beyond thestudio.Inthespringof2025,the duo hit the road as front-of-house (FOH) engineers for bass music heavyweight Detox Unit, operating sound at some of the United Statesʼ most iconic venues, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Colorado), Bonnaroo Festival (Tennessee), and SuwanneeMusicPark(Florida).
During the tour, they successfully debuted their prototype dynamic console system, capable of delivering mastering-grade corrections in real-time—an innovation that could reshape the livesoundindustry.
This follows their 2024 “Reference Sessions” held over three nights in Denver, Colorado, where they deployedastaggering153,000-watt sub-bass system—the largest indoor setup of its kind. A veteran sound engineer who previously
worked with Pink Floyd was in attendance and called it: “The best bassIhaveeverheardinmylife.” Seanʼs audio career is not limited to themusicworld.InJunethisyear,he led the sound design and Dolby ATMOS engineering for Fading Stars,aNationalGeographicSociety documentary directed by wildlife photographer Aishwarya Nair. The film earned a Wildscreen Panda Award nomination also known as the “Green Oscars” and will be screened at the prestigious Wildscreen Festival in Bristol, UK, laterthisyear.
The documentary traces the illegal wildlife trade of the worldʼs most trafficked reptile, the Indian star tortoise, travelling from forests in India to underground markets in Bangkok. It further showcases Seanʼs growing profile in the conservationfilmspace.
Previously, Sean worked on Dhivarah, a documentary directed by Udupiʼs Giridhar Nayak, focusing on the Malpe fishing community. It was screened at the Cannes Film Festival and earned accolades including a Suncoast Regional EMMY, the Telly Awards, and a nod from BAFTA (British Academy of
FilmandTelevisionArts).
He has now reunited with Nayak and UK-based filmmaker Chandra Mouli for a new conservation project titled Mandala, which exploresthesnakespeciesofIndiaʼs WesternGhats.Thefilmhasalready won the GreenStories Pitch Award in Goa and received recognition at the Jackson Wild Festival in Wyoming, USA. Seanʼs journey began early. A selftaught music producer, he began experimentingwithelectronicmusic atage13underthealiasNoizbleed. In 2020, he composed the original score for the psychological thriller Ondhu Shikariya Kathe, directed by Sachin Shetty and starring Pramod Shetty. The film earned acclaim at the Bangalore International Film Festival (BIFFES) and later topped AmazonPrime Kannadaʼs charts. The same year, Sean graduated as Valedictorian from Full Sail University,Florida, witha bachelorʼs degree in Recording Arts & Sciences.Helaterpursuedstudiesin Computer Science at the University
of Central Florida, blending his expertise in audio engineering with techinnovation.
In a major milestone for Indian electronic music, Sean collaborated in 2024 with Delhi-based producer UtkarshSinghtoproduceanofficial remix for Dutch electronic legends Noisia. Released as part of Noisiaʼs Resonancealbum series on their acclaimed label VISION Recordings, this made Sean and Utkarsh among the first Indian artiststoachievesuchrecognition. ForSeanandUtkarsh,bothaged25, thiswasnotjustapersonaltriumph, but a signal to the global scene. Noisia, known for shaping the bass musicgenreandinspiringartistslike Skrillex, IMANU, and Shades, have passed the torch. Sean hopes to do the same for the next generation in India. “Our dream is to do for India what Noisia did for the world to build a creative, collaborative, and fearless community of artists,” Sean says.
From Barkur to the Grammys, via iconic soundboards, conservation documentaries, and a global electronic music scene Anirudh Sean Gonsalves stands as one of Indiaʼs most exciting and versatile
I first met Eric Ozario in the then Bombay city in the year 1978 which means our association is 46 years old, out of their 50 years of Wedding anniversary, celebrated recently in Mangalore in much fanfare.
We met at Preston Enterprises
Kalina of Henry DʼSilva, another Konkani director. Ozario had come with his team to canvas for a drama festival of Late Cha. Fra. DeʼCosta
who incidentally was my literary guru.
But I had known his wife, Joyce Fontes much before as she used to cometooursmalltownKinnigoli,as part of Wilfy Rebimbus drama troupe to sing in between the scenes.(The‘Wilfy Niteʼ shows were yet to start…!)
During one such drama, Tisri Chitʼ (the Third Bandʼ written by Wilfy Rebimbus which later was made into a colour film, the first colour film ever made in Konkani in Mangalore.)I,aschoolboy, thenwas instructed by the organiser to fetch a few flowers for a singing scene. It was the dry month when no flowers blossomed. I entered a cemetery and found the Crossandra flowers whichwereinplenty.Ididnotknow thenthatsomedayJoyceFonteswill
be bestowed with the title ‘Konkani Abolemʼ. (Konkani Crossandra) In a way I was the one who offered the flowers to the singers, Joyce (Fontes)andMeenaPinto(wholater marriedWilfyRebimbus, thelegend of Konkani songs and music.) for their song ‘Ami Phoolvalimʼ (We are the flower girls.ʼ) Immediately after the above incident Joyce married another legend of Konkani music, Eric Ozario. All of them were born and raised in the same vicinity, Jeppu Compound.
Next time, I met Eric in Muscat in a hotel in 1994. Again, he had arrived with his team as part of ‘Konkani Divti Abhiyanʼ to raise funds for Vishwa Konkani Adhiveshan. He made it a point to visit every Konkani home in Muscat where a Konkani lamp provided the light. I remembermeetingmyotherfriend, Late Mickmax during that event as his famous song, ‘Tuje Sobhit Don Doleʼ, that Eric sang and surprised even Mickmax.
The next time I met him in the year 2000 in Dubai. He had come to collect funds for Kalangann, an amphitheatre of Mandd Sobhann, the premier Konkani cultural
association. Daiji Dubai supported the movement wholeheartedly. Not only the Mangalorean Catholic communitythathardlysupportsany other cultural activity but in contributing towards building churches,Ericʼscauseattractedtheir attention, besides of course the Bhatkal based Konkani Nawayatʼs who contributed generously. Eric Ozario was a happy man by now.
I met him again in 2009 when Daiji Dubai, under my stewardship invited him to hold a musical evening.Asourfriend Mickmax was ill and was hospitalised we decided to stage his drama, ‘Lekh tem Lekhʼchʼ and contribute a considerable amount towards his treatment. Although Mickmax passed away on the same night, we were able to collect a whopping Rs 7 lakh that financially supported his family.
Next was my turn to be a part of ‘Mandd Sobhann; celebration, as it had completed 25 years of its existence. Out of 25 programs planned for 25 days, my drama, Ghantichi Thorʼ was played on behalf of all the Konkani people in the Gulf countries. Many of my
friends from the Gulf, James Mendonca the president of Mangalore Konkans and Walter Nandalike from Daiji Dubai were present.
Soon, one of our friends, Melvyn Rodrigues received ‘Sahitya Akademiʼ award for his book of poems, and a large felicitation program was organised under my leadership in Mangalore. More than 20 Konkani associations and Konkani journals for the first time came together in organising this felicitation program and we requested Eric to arrange music segment which he readily accepted.
Of all the anecdotes in the above events one particular etiquette I observedinhim was-WhenIwrote about him in my column “Amchi MatiAmchimMonxamʼindaijiworld website launched in Dubai those days, (Later the same columns under the same name were printed in a book format.) he wrote to me saying – “Thank you for writing about me. I donʼt think I deserved suchappreciation.”Hefurtherwrote – “As I did not have a computer, I went to a cyber to read your article, ‘Hefulfilledourdreamsʼ,andIcould
not prevent the tears dripping from my eyes. Such humility comes from a thespian.
LaterLeslieRegointerviewedhimas part of our TV show in daijiworld, (Amchi Mati Amchim Monxam) and he repeated the same, that he doesnʼtdeservetheappreciationfor his work for Konkani music. He thought itwasa dutyforhismother tongue.
When I met the couple at St Joseph's Church in Jeppu, a few days ago, to celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary I found the same in them.
*It was a ‘Powerhouse Coupleʼ, always indefatigable, Eric being the tireless and stubborn crusader besidesbeinga simpleartist(whom many called an ‘eccentricʼ)
*He wasand is the musicalmessiah,
the ambassador of Konkani music
*Hisheartcriedforthepoor, theless privileged, although no one noticed it.
*HeemptiedhimselfthroughaWILL and donating everything to others.
*He was rightly a true Indefatigable Crusader, nothing less.
On Friday 28th August the Catholic Church commemorates the memorial of the death of St. John the Baptist. On that day Eric surrendered his life in the hands of his creator aroundp 2.45 pm. Jesus toosurrenderedhislifeinthehands of His Father on Friday around 3.00 pm.Isitacoincidenceorprovidence that there is a close similarity in these events? It is worth reflecting.
At 11.00 am on Sunday 31st the mortalremainsofEricwerebrought
to Valencia Church. He was dressed with the traditional dress of our ancestors, namely, puddvem, kutanv and head gear. He looked like a sleeping king!
The Holy Mass began at 11.15 am.
Fr.RoqueDʼSa,theparishpriestwas the main celebrant. He was joined by a number of priests. I preached the homily.
I reached Mangaluru on Sunday at 4.45 am. I stayed at the Milagres Church. After taking a little rest, I wanted to practice my homily. Though I had gone with the required preparation, at Milagres presbytery, I was trembling with fear. Mind was becoming blank. Though the points were there in my own handwriting before me, words were not coming out of my mouth.
The second time, I tried. A little improvement.Ididnʼt knowwhatto do. I went down to the church compound.Asa preparation forthe FeastoftheNativityofMotherMary (8thSeptember),thestatueofMaria
Bambina (Baby Mary in the cradle) was kept in a glass container and surrounded by flowers brought by the devotees. As a devotee of Mother Mary, I closed my eyes and pleaded with her to come to my rescue. Then hiring an auto rickshaw, I went to the Valencia Church.
After I read the Gospel, something happened within me. Did the Holy
Spirit inspired me or Eric? I do not know. I spoke from my heart with convictionandauthority.Wordsjust flowedoutofmymouthwithoutmy effort! I must have preached for 14 to15minutes.AftertheMass,inthe
sacristy a number of priests came and told me that they were really touched the way I spoke. I was surprised to hear this, because rarely priests have given me the feedback.Asahabit,Idonotexpect orp long for the appreciation. After the Mass the body was kept outside thechurchina largepandal
for the State Funeral with the Police brass band and gun salute. The healthl minister and the other government officials were present. After this at 1.00 pm the body was taken to Kalaangan (an artistic complex for performance arts), Shatkinagar for public viewing. There a large pandal and stagesl werepreparedfortheevent.Mandd Sobhann Troupe which was formed
byEricpresentedanumberofsongs for which Eric had composed melody and music. St. Mother Theresa Brass Band from Hadinbal, UttaraKannadaDistrictofKarnataka added solemnity for the event with their music. Arun Raj Rodrigues
compered the entire event with his unique style. In between various chosen speakers from different fields including people of other faiths, who had a close association with Eric were invited to share their
experiences. Both at the Valencia Church and Kalaangann a large crowd of all faiths camr to pay their respect to Eric.
At 5.00 pm the body was taken to the electric crematorium, Bolar.
Tomorrow morning (Monday) the asheswillbebroughttoKaalangann and the Mandd Sobhann members willdecide withthefamilymembers the future course of action. The church and Kalaangann were packed with people. At the crematorium a large crowd of friends and admirers of Eric were present. The entire event was well plannedandmeticulouslyexecuted.
So far no person in the history of Konknnihascontributedinsomany different fields related to Konknni as much l as Eric has done with his Mandd Sobhann members. Eric has become one in the ocean of eternity. He has become the Greatest Emperor of Konknni. Now his legacy and Mission will be carried forward by the Mandd
Sobhann members with our support.
I was totally taken aback by the number of people (practically everybody) of alll ages, men and women came to me after the Mass, at Kalaangann, and at the crematorium to thank me for my homily.TheyweresayingthatIgave the best and appropriate tribute to Eric and wiped out all the false allegations attributed to Eric by his opponents!!!
Really a rare miracle took place today.Thishashappenedduetothe prayers of my WhatsApp group members and due to the special blessing of Mother Mary. I have absolutely nodoubtaboutit.Ihave already thanked Mother Mary once again, byvisitingtheMariaBambina statue at Milagres. Now I thank you for your prayers and encouraging words. The credit goes to you for your valuable prayers. Kindly continue to pray for me and my pastoral ministry at the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa and the Mission of 3 L (least, last, lost) students and their needy families.

Hen Kapad Mujea Joyce'k
Boren Sobhath!
When I look at this Eric'babs laughing picture, I remembered the above statement I made, "Hen Kapad Mujea Joyce'k Boren Sobhath!".
This was in 1971/72, when we, a group of singers & musicians, Eric'bab, Joyce'bai, Myself, Mina'bai(and few others) used to visit various interior locations in Udipiarea&surroundingsandused to entertain people of those areas
with mini stage programs, singing latest songs (and hymns) of that time. (During one such programs I remember I sang a duet with Mina'bai "Yego Lilly, Iylin, Iylin,....Ek gantya thaun hanga rakthan..." & people threw 1 rupee, 2,rupee Notes on to the stage that dark night, first I thought they were throwing stones?...), hence we all used have good time simultaneouslyentertainingpeople. But it is history now.
On one such day, during off time, wethreeofus(Eric'bab,Joyce'bai& Myself)weresittingandtalking.(Pls. Note - None of us were married then, Eric'bab & Joyce'bai were close friends (you can call it Love...) & I too was friendly with Joyce (my so-calledwifenow).Joyce'baiIthink wore a colourful sari. Suddenly when I looked at Joyce'bais Sari, childishly I mentioned "ಹೇಂ
(Hen Kapad Mujea Joyce'k Boren Sobhath!).
Suddenly Eric'bab's face changed (as in this picture "pokri haso"?) as he glanced at Joyce'bai, and they both got a mild surprise, as they both laughed at my stupidity. Now Eric'bab is not around, I won't be able to remind him of that
instance.Joyce'baimightremember that day. I must live with this memory. Till we meet again Eric'bab.

As I shared about my Hindi drama titled Flop Show which Eric Baab composed music, we had the Muhurath of the play at Nigel Pereira'sHouse...theyhadanursery school run by her mother Honora Pereira called Bala Vidya Vrinda. That was the time that Eric Uncle and we (Nigel, Me, Late Mack and others were meeting regularly) for the composition of my play (Mack was to play the main role but he couldn't act and found difficult, henceIendedupactingforthefirst time besides directing), and Nach Sobhanns practices and Baila International all put together, At that tender age of 21-22, I had made a script and was discussing with Eric uncle to compose music forit.Withoutanyfinances,Without any producer, Without any knowledge about direction and filmmaking, I had decided to direct a Konkani film titled MARIA and we alldecidedanddiscussedaboutthe
subjecttogetheratEric'sHouseand at practices at Nigels House.
Let me remind you- this was even before Richard Castelino began his Konkani film BOGSANHE (in which later I played one of the lead).
And you all should be knowing during early 90s there was no Konkanifilmsmadeandbeforethat too very rarely some Konkani films were made. We only remembered MOG ANI MAIPAS (from Wilfy Rebimbus troupe) and the song of his ... Tuzo Mog Maka Maria, which was one of my favorite From that I loved the name MARIA and that was my title. Veryamateurishandunexperienced that remained only as a plan but didn'tmaterialise.
But that very particular period what I wished and dreamt became reality as down the years later in 1999, I turnedfilmdirectorandmademany films thereon and became a fullfledgedactor.
It all started with Eric Ozario Baab and his good wishes and blessings that see today... his last appearance
is in my Konkani film MOG TUZO KITHLO ASHELON (Yes. He' will be seen in the film .. surprise revealing soon)
And ... the life comes to a circle in many ways Thisfilmismy100thfilmasanactor and 15th film as director (I started my acting with Flop Sbow - my 1st
with Eric Baab as Composer) And see to the connection / the songisofWilfyUncleandtheMaria connectionbesidesthetitleandjust recently I also got the original hero OzzieSequeiratobepartofthefilm (mysonSilvermethiminCanada and shot the Sequence) Itʼs all connected from 1993 onward!
St. Teresa of Calcutta: the teacher who lived and taught Compassion!
-*Fr.Cedric PrakashSJ
It is ‘Teachers Dayʼ once again! Significantly, the day is also the Feast of St Teresa of Calcutta (still lovingly called ‘Mother Teresaʼ) and
in 2012, the United Nations, as fitting tribute to Mother Teresa, declared this day as the ‘International Day of Charityʼ. A day pregnant with meaning, which we all need to celebrate in as meaningfuladayaspossible.
Teachersʼ Day is special! It is the birth anniversary of our late President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1888-1975). Dr. Radhakrishnan was a great academic, philosopher and statesman, who was convinced that an inclusive, pluralistic and holistic education was the key to Indiaʼs meaningful development. He was
truly a visionary who transcended the pettiness, the exclusivism and the hate, which our country is steeped into today. An erudite scholar, his profound writings bear testimony to his vision for India! Dr. Radhakrishnan would easily put most of the politicians of today to shame. Many of the politicians of todayhavejusthateandviolencein theirDNA!
Teachers, and very sadly so, are today in the news, for all the wrong reasons! Recently, in Ahmedabad, a schoolboy stabbed another schoolboy, fatally outside the school premises, just after school hours. Evidence shows that the school management did all they could to save the life of the wounded boy. Unfortunately, they could not do so. What transpired after that was pathetic – downright disgraceful. A fundamentalist and fanatic mob began venting their ire to the school management and the teachers for what had taken place. Theyransackedtheschoolandbeat uptheteachers.Notrealizingthatit is the primary duty of parents to nurture their children. This is not a one-off case but pattern that
demonstrates how teachers today are no longer held with the respect theyreceivedinthepast.
Education in India is in the doldrums. We no longer educate children to become men and women for others, to develop a social responsibility and above all, to become enlightened citizens of thecountry!Aclearindicator ofthe rot in education, is the tremendous rushofthosewantingtogoabroad for higher education – even to countries where education is at a miserable level. In most parts of India, ‘Governmentʼ education leaves much to be desired; the socalled ‘National Education Policyʼ (NEP)ismanipulativelydesignedto cater to a particular section of society, leaving the poor and the marginalized at the mercy of a system which would prefer to have them half-educated and condemned to a life of servitude!
As education becomes increasingly commercialized, with a value system based essentially on a numerical like a ‘90%plusʼ, the basics and the ethos of education and what it should mean to a child
who needs to be nurtured, is torn asunder. Besides the role of a teacher as a guide, accompanier, mentor, motivator and inspirer, stands greatly diminished! Today, the teacher is no longer an ‘educatorʼ in the complete sense of the word. S/he is tasked with innumerable administrative responsibilities; besides being a teacher in the class, teachers are called to do ‘official Government dutyʼ as surveyors, data-collectors, get involved in the electoral processandawholerangeofother ‘dutiesʼ which have nothing to do with oneʼs primary role and responsibilityofbeinganeducator.
This is certainly non-acceptable; more teachers today conveniently abdicate their sole mission, for more lucrative assignments. It is notastatesecretthatdayscoresof students (particularly those who can afford) flock to expensive ‘tuition classes after their official school hours! An official racket of profiteers!
Mother Teresa was a teacher par excellence! Her first major responsibility in 1931, after her profession as a sister of the Loretto
Congregation, was to teach in St. Maryʼs Bengali Medium School for girls in Kolkata. This was an assignment she undertook with great love and dedication, till she left the Loretto Sisters in 1948 to foundtheMissionariesofCharity.
From then on, it was no looking back for Mother Teresa. In words and witness, she proved to be a teacher par excellence. She was convinced that the poor children of the slums had to be taught the 3Rs (reading, ‘writing and ‘arithmetic) butmorethanthat, sherealizedthat she had to communicate to the world the values of Jesus, who for her, was the Master Teacher. As a human being and particularly as a teacher, Mother Teresa was the
embodiment of many values but high among them was that of Compassion! She lived compassion to the fullest – it is the one lesson shegavetheworld.
Mother Teresa was truly the embodiment of compassion. If ever one dares to give her competence to her, it is this single characteristic of being a compassionate person. She radiated this quality, when on earth, in a way, few humans could ever do, her love for the marginalized and the vulnerable, the excluded and the exploited, the orphanandthe widow, the sick and the aged, and particularly. for the poorest of the poor and the dying destitute, for the last, the least, the lonely and the lost- was boundless. She was able to give and not to count the cost. Her ability to be compassionate towards others motivated her to found the Missionaries of Charity. She was effusive in her compassion for the “leastofoursistersandbrothers” and did not try to hide this fact, for whateverthereason
and an act of compassion and service, even in small, everyday actionslikeasmile.Sheemphasized thattrueloveinvolvesempathyand connection, startingwithfamilyand extendingtoeveryone, andthatthe greatest poverty is the feeling of being unloved. She also taught that love is a fruit that is always in season, accessible to everyone, and that it begins with small kindness, creating ripples of positive change. Compassion was her hallmark, her ‘forteʼ.Shewouldsay,“Inthislifewe cannotdogreatthings;wecanonly dosmallthingswithgreatlove!”
Mother Teresa defined love as a willingness to "give until it hurts"
Wewitnesstodayhateandviolence, wars and conflicts, the consistent denigration, demonization and discrimination of minorities and other vulnerable groups. Lynchings, rapes and murders have become the ‘new normalʼ! Our world desperately stands in need of compassion today. A compassion, which reaches out to the unloved, theostracized, themarginalizedand the vulnerable. A compassion, that takes a stand for the poor, the victimsofinjustice, therefugeesand the displaced. A compassion, that can negate and overcome the hate
and divisiveness; the racism and communalism; the xenophobia and the exclusiveness that has gripped our world. Today, in India, we need, as never before, the compassion that Mother Teresa has taught us all!
On 10 December 1979, in her acceptance speech of the Nobel Peace Prize, Mother Teresa said, “I amsurethisawardisgoingtobring anunderstandinglovebetweenthe richandthepoor.Andthisiswhat
Jesushasinsistedsomuch,thatis
why Jesus came to earth, to proclaim the good news to the poor. Andthroughthisawardand through all of us gathered here together, we are wanting to proclaimthegoodnewstothepoor thatGodlovesthem, thatwelove them, thattheyaresomebodytous, thattheytoohavebeencreatedby thesamelovinghandofGod,to love and to be loved. Our poor peoplearegreatpeople, arevery lovablepeople, theydonʼtneedour pityandsympathy, theyneedour understandinglove.Theyneedour respect;theyneedustotreatthem withdignity.
OnSeptember4,2016,inaspecial ceremonyatStPeterʼsSquareinthe Vatican, Pope Francis canonized Mother Teresa as a Saint of the Catholic Church. In his homily he remindedtheworldoftheneedand importance to live the values, like compassion, which St Teresa of
Kolkataembodied,“Maythistireless worker of mercy help us to increasingly understand that our onlycriterionforactionisgratuitous love, freefromeveryideologyand all obligations, offered freely to everyone without distinction of language, culture, raceorreligion .
Mother Teresa loved to say, “Perhaps I donʼt speak their language, butIcansmile”.Letus carryhersmileinourheartsand give it to those whom we meet alongourjourney, especiallythose whosuffer.Inthisway, wewillopen opportunitiesofjoyandhopefor ourmanybrothersandsisterswho arediscouragedandwhostandin need of understanding and tenderness.
Let us remember then today, the words of Mother Teresa, “Spread love everywhere you go: first, in yourownhome.Givelovetoyour children, toyourwifeorhusband,to anext-doorneighbor...Letnoone evercometoyouwithoutleaving betterandhappier.Betheliving expression of Godʼs kindness; kindnessinyourface, kindnessin youreyes, kindnessinyoursmile, kindnessinyourwarmgreeting!”
Today, as we celebrate Saint Teresa of Calcutta, we need to pray specially for all the teachers and educators (and in fact, for all the citizens) of our country. Mother Teresawastrulyateacherwholived and taught us compassion! Do we have the courage to emulate her? From this moment, we need to do all we can to overwhelm our country, our world with compassion!

We're living through a time when wisdom has been confused with noise
Silence is not appreciated the way it used to be in the past Today truth is buried under loud proclamations accepted as truth Respect is never loud, but acquired through gentle reverence
Truth need not be broadcast, its power comes through humility Speak not of your ancestry, let your actions speak instead
Religion doesn't feed the hungry, nor bring unity to the world
Let us all speak humanity found in spirituality instead
We're living through a fractured era, straight on a collision course
The time for modification is gone, it's now or never for humanity
It's all hands-on deck now or forever lost to the winds of change
Brought about by selfish desires and indifferent behaviour
Truth needs no explanation, it stands tall against all odds
The wise ones are never heard or seen, nor pompous or demeaning
Moving forward needs one to leave the old and adopt the new
Embracing compassion and empathy, in knowing we're all one

On 16th June 2025, Sadam Hussain, who went missing fromMahore, Reasi

In a world characterized by individualism, indifference and materialism, the SEAL Ashram, on the other end of the spectrum, nevertheless continues to be the antidote of indifference by extolling the virtue of being your brother's keeper!
SEAL Ashram truly deserves a special commendation of undertaking the laborious task of endeavouring to reconnect those placed in their care backtotheirrespectivehouseholds.
Dr.MathaiwhoisalsotheChiefPatron ofSEALAshramsaidthattheAshramis like a Mini India, where people from every state and corner of the country arerescuedandfindasecondhome. It is not just a place of rescue, but of rebirth, where the destitute and abandoned are embraced with love, dignity, andcare, andgivenachanceto live with hope again. What makes it powerful is that SEAL Ashram goes beyond shelter and creates lifetime experiences, nurturing people back to health, restoring their self-worth, and,
most importantly, reconnecting them withtheirlostfamilies, reunitinghearts that they once thought they’d never meet again. Their work is like a vast and impactful movement, a silent revolution of compassion that proves humanity can heal, uplift, and transform lives on a massive scale acrossIndia.
It'sincrediblyamazingandremarkable that unbeknownst to many, the SEAL Ashram under the leadership of Pst.K.M.Philip, is literally weaving the fabric of national integration and communal harmony all the way from the northern mountains of Kashmir to the southern shores of Kerala, in its altruistic and philanthropic mission to rescue, rehabilitate & reunite the lost andabandoned.
