As 2025 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on another incredible year of growth, collaboration, and community. Each month, Strictly Business has the privilege of sharing the stories of the people and businesses that make Nebraska such an extraordinary place to live and work. And while every issue is special, December always feels a little different — a little warmer, a little more grateful, and a lot more reflective.
For me, the end of the year is about more than just wrapping up projects or setting goals for the next one. It’s about pausing to appreciate the people who make what we do possible. From the local business owners who trust us to tell their stories, to the readers who open our magazine each month — you are the reason Strictly Business continues to thrive after all these years.
And as we enter this holiday season, I encourage you to shop and buy local whenever you can. Supporting local businesses means supporting your neighbors, your friends, and the people who reinvest back into our community. Every purchase, partnership, and referral helps keep Nebraska strong.
As we look ahead to January, we’re especially excited to kick off the new year with one of our most meaningful editions — our annual Non-Profit Feature. This special issue shines a light on the organizations that dedicate themselves to helping others and making our communities stronger. It’s a powerful reminder that success in business and success in service go hand in hand.
“Local business is the heartbeat of our community — when we support each other, we all grow stronger.”
As a publication, our mission has always been to connect businesses with one another, to celebrate local success, and to strengthen the communities we serve. Every partnership, every feature, and every story we publish adds another thread to the incredible tapestry that is Nebraska’s business community.
As we head into the holidays, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your blessings, celebrate your wins, and appreciate the people who make your life and work meaningful.
From all of us at Strictly Business, we wish you a Merry Christmas, a joyful holiday season, and a prosperous New Year filled with hope, health, and success.
Warm regards, Paige Zutavern

Breeze Bets on Lincoln Airport with New Flights to Las Vegas and Orange County
Earlier this month, Lincoln Airport announced that Breeze Airways is expanding service with new flights to Las Vegas (Harry Reid International Airport – LAS) and Orange County (John Wayne Airport – SNA), starting April 8, 2026.
The Orange County flight will feature Breeze’s convenient “BreezeThru” service, allowing passengers to remain onboard during a brief stop in Las Vegas before continuing on the same aircraft to Southern California.
Flights will operate nonstop on Wednesdays and Saturdays, joining Breeze’s upcoming nonstop service to Orlando (MCO) beginning Dec. 10. These additions give Lincoln travelers seamless access to some of the nation’s most popular leisure and business destinations, providing true coast-to-coast connections from Nebraska. Passengers will enjoy Breeze’s modern Airbus A220-300 aircraft, featuring a spacious cabin, free family seating, Wi-Fi, and no change or cancellation fees. Breeze’s “Nice,” “Nicer,” and “Nicest” fare bundles provide flexible options, including extra legroom and checked baggage.
“This expansion is a reflection of Breeze Airways’ confidence in Lincoln and the support we’ve received from the community,” said David Neeleman, Founder and CEO of Breeze Airways. “We are thrilled to provide even more travel options for our passengers,
making it easier than ever to reach top destinations across the country.”
Breeze continues to rank among the most innovative and fastestgrowing airlines in the country. Named one of Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025 and recognized by Travel + Leisure as a Top 3 Domestic Airline, Breeze offers affordable fares, brand-new aircraft, and a customer-first experience.
This announcement caps off a year of strong performance and growing local support for Lincoln Airport. More area travelers are flying from their hometown airport than at any time in nearly a decade. A recent market study found:
• LNK captured 20% of all airline passengers in the region during the first quarter of 2025, up from 17% a year earlier.
• United Airlines increased average monthly flights by eight and added 381 more available seats per month compared to 2024.
• Average fares out of LNK dropped $20 each way, while fares at Omaha and Kansas City rose, making LNK a more competitive and convenient choice.
With this new route, Lincoln Airport continues its mission to make flying easier, more connected, and more local than ever.

At Berry Law, they’ve spent the past 60 years building a legacy rooted in the unyielding pursuit of truth and fairness—much like the man who founded it all. On Friday, Nov. 7, they gathered at the Lincoln office (6940 O St, Suite 400) to celebrate not just a retirement, but the closing chapter of their anniversary year with the retirement of John Stevens Berry Sr. With 170 attendees filling the space with stories, laughter and tears, it was a profoundly moving tribute to a pioneer whose courtroom battles have shaped justice for generations.
As they reflect on the past, embrace the present, and look to the future under new leadership, this milestone reminds them why Berry Law remains a beacon for those who need it most: veterans navigating VA appeals and families facing injury claims. The event was the capstone of the 60th anniversary celebrations—a year of reflecting on milestones, friends, and family.
The gathering honored the values that still define their firm: courage, discipline and unwavering advocacy for Veterans and their families seeking the benefits they earned. Every story shared underscored a simple truth—their mission has always been to stand with those who served.
As they bid farewell to Berry Sr., the torch passes seamlessly to John Berry, CEO of Berry Law. With his own storied path in Veterans’ appeals and helping those injured, John embodies the evolution from courtroom warrior to strategic visionary.

Under his leadership, Berry Law will amplify the multimodal reach: leveraging AI-aligned tools for faster VA claim processing, expanding injury law resources through community partnerships, and deepening our federal appeals expertise with cutting-edge tech.
CEO John Berry’s vision? “Honor the past by building a future where every Veteran and injured person finds not just a lawyer, but a lifelong ally.” It’s a promise rooted in 60 years of service, propelling us toward even greater impact.

Legacy’s story began with a son’s dream to create the perfect retirement community for his beloved mother. Every detail was thoughtfully designed to be “good enough for Mom.” Founded in 1995 by Jerry Joyce, Legacy has since grown into a family of thriving, stateof-the-art communities known for world-class services and a culture that fosters purpose, joy and meaningful connection.
“We believe there’s purpose, joy and fulfillment at any age, young or old,” said Greg Joyce, CEO of Legacy Retirement Communities. “When my grandfather founded Legacy, he wasn’t building a community for seniors; he was building a community where one of the most important and impactful people in his life would thrive. After three years of happy patients and a myriad of 5-star reviews as Schrock Medical, the clinic was purchased by the local staff and recently rebranded to K2 Holistic Health. While the name might have changed, the original mission of the clinic, exceptional staff, and care hasn’t changed. But there have been a few additions to the multi-specialty approaches utilized.
K2 Holistic Health’s mission is to help patients reach the summit of their health so they can climb their mountains. The two Ks stand for Kinetics (movement) and Kinesthetics (the neurology behind movement).
Rather than separate each part of the medical world, the clinic combines medical care, physical therapy, and chiropractic care under one roof to treat an issue’s underlying root cause. It’s a holistic, natural approach to treating the body as a whole, as opposed to traditional approaches that provide short-term relief by masking symptoms. It’s the passion to help patients “live healthier, happier lives” that compelled Founder and CEO Jason Howe to open K2 Holistic Health. Services offered at K2 Holistic Health include neck, back, and joint pain; neuropathy; hormonal and peptide treatments for decreased performance; weight loss; and men’s/women’s health.

As the year comes to an end, here are some ways Tobacco Free Lancaster County (TFLC) continues to work with schools to promote tobacco-free education for students and staff:

1. Mirror clings: The clings feature bright, eye-catching imagery, vaping facts, and easy-to-access quit resources. The campaign has expanded to 35 schools across Lincoln and Lancaster County, including Southeast Community College, Pius, Norris, Waverly, Malcolm, and Raymond.
2. Tobacco prevention lesson plans: TFLC has created elementary and middle school lesson plans aligned with health education standards that are now under Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) review for classroom use. The lessons build early tobacco prevention skills, address vaping myths and peer pressure, and support healthy decision-making. Materials include ready-toteach lessons, activities, posters, and parent tools.
3. Vape disposal kits: Lincoln Public Schools’ middle and high schools have been equipped with these kits to support safe vapewaste storage and disposal, helping protect students and staff from nicotine exposure and lithium-battery fire risks.
4. Presentations and booths: Schools are also able to request TFLC presentations for staff, parents, and/or students on tobacco prevention and quitting.
Requests for presentations and further inquiries about TFLC’s work with schools, including the partnership with School Community Intervention and Prevention can be sent to info@tobaccofreelancastercounty.org.

The 2026 Open Enrollment season will be remembered for notably high deductibles and max out-of-pocket amounts. It will also be remembered as being the enrollment season that Congress was gridlocked and the year the expanded tax credits ended.

Finding a health plan requires prioritizing several factors like networks, prescription coverage, deductibles and pricing. Inevitably, when premium prices increase, people turn to plans with higher deductibles and maximum out of pocket amounts. How can other insurance policies help offset this risk?
Accident or critical illness plans are becoming a more prevalent add-on to health plans outside of employer coverage. These plans can be purchased for a relatively low monthly fee and will step in to cover the costs associated with medical expenses caused by injury or diagnosis of a critical condition.
Let’s consider this example: While he was cleaning his gutter, John fell off his ladder and experienced a compound fracture in his arm. This fall necessitated an ER visit, x-rays, surgery, multiple orthopedic visits and subsequent PT. Those services cost $25,000.
If he had chosen the Standard Bronze plan on the Marketplace from any of the six carriers in Nebraska in 2026, his medical plan would have a deductible of $7,500 and a maximum out of pocket of $10,600. If John had an accident plan with a $10,000 benefit bank, he would be able to submit the invoices for medical expenses incurred from the fall and the follow-up visits and be reimbursed to the maximum of $10,000. He would then only be paying the remaining $600 of his plan’s requirement before his insurance plan would then step in to cover the remaining $15,000.
With his accident plan, he would be able to cover his entire deductible and then whatever subsequent coinsurance or copay amounts for the remaining $10,000 of his benefit.
Without an accident plan in place, he would have been responsible for the entire $7,500 deductible and would have paid the remaining coinsurance amount on his own without having a way to recoup any of his expenses.
There are options to offset the risks with high-deductible health plans and your licensed insurance agents at On Point Insurance Agency are ready to help you find the right combination of plans to help you cover your medical expenses.

Tell us a little about your business. - Cheever Construction has been a valued construction company in Lincoln and the surrounding areas for over 70 years. Our services include Design-Bid-Build, DesignBuild, and Construction Management.
How did you get started in the business? - I worked in public accounting for several years, but with life changes, it was time to leave. My next adventure was event coordinating at a local church. I love accounting, but didn’t want to go back to a CPA firm. I started in the accounting department at Cheever in November 2024 and found my way into Business Development. It’s the best of both worlds, really, getting to do what I love while also sprinkling a little fun into my days.
Tell us a little about your family. - My husband, Jordan, and I have a daughter named Hali. We’re originally from Nebraska City but moved to Lincoln in 2015.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? - I love spending time with my family and friends, going to the gym and teaching bootcamp classes at Good Life during my time away from the office.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? - “It’s okay to have a soft heart and strong boundaries. “
If you had a theme song, what would it be? - It would probably be a mashup of rap and techno with a little worship and Johnny Cash sprinkled in.
What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? - One thing I love about Lincoln is the incredible nonprofits we have. There are so many that hold a special place in my heart. I’ve Got a Name, Foster Care Closet, People City Mission, and Baby & Me. I serve on the board of Baby & Me, a growing nonprofit that supports new mothers without access to paid maternity leave. As business leaders in Lincoln, I firmly believe we should be doing our part to support these incredible organizations. Donate, get involved, share the word; every effort counts.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? - Comfort Crisis by Michael Easter explores the idea that we can’t handle minimal stress because we’ve placed ourselves in a self-imposed box of comfort. Modern amenities and the lack of exploration and adventure can keep us where we are. Comfort Crisis was a fantastic read and a great reminder that crossing the line from comfort to out of your comfort zone opens space to move from surviving to thriving.
What is your favorite movie? - Harry Potter on a rainy day will always be my go-to.
What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant? - I honestly can’t choose just one, so you get my top three: Honest Abe’s, Birria Boss and Cheesesteak Grille.

Jason Holm
Jason Holm is the Owner at The Back Nine Lincoln South.

Tell us a little about your business. - The Back Nine Lincoln South is Lincoln’s premiere indoor golf and event destination. We have four luxury bays and an inviting space, including a private bay with exclusive access for members and their guests, all featuring top-ofthe-line Full Swing simulators. Private and corporate members enjoy 24/7 access. Tee times are also available to the public. Our space is available for small group events or up to 50 people, reserving the entire facility. Our PGA Professional, Matt Person, offers personalized instruction and group clinics, using advanced analytics and instant feedback to help improve your game, whether you’re looking to fine tune or you’re brand new to the game.
How did you get started in the business? - I have a lifelong love for both Husker football and golf. To me, those have two main things in common: They both provide a sense of community, whether it’s the 85,000 friends at Memorial Stadium, the new friends you were paired with on the course or the golf league group you enjoy every summer. I’ve found myself at the end of the season trying to fill the void, waiting for the next golf or football season to start. It’s a long, cold winter without two of my passions. I wanted to bring that sense of community to Lincoln year round. The Back Nine is the perfect fit. I provide a place for people to enjoy golf and community, 24/7/365. No more waiting for spring for golf.
What has been your most important achievement professionally?
- Bringing the Back Nine Indoor golf to the Lincoln community. This is realization of a lifelong dream to bring our community together at a destination for golf and celebration.
Tell us a little about your family. - My nurse wife of 26 years, Charlotte, is the glue that holds our family together. Our amazing and talented twins, Hayden and Graham are seniors at Lincoln East. Both are deciding where they will continue their education journey. My parents are still in Nebraska (Rest in peace, Mom), and I have three brothers and a sister in different parts of the country. We’re all close.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
- Meeting my wife changed my life. I’d be lost without her. Other than that, surviving Thyroid Cancer… twice. 10 years ago, when I was first diagnosed, I soul searched and realized that I was not in a career that brought true meaning to my life. Earlier this year, when the cancer came back, it was like a lightbulb reminding me it was time for a reset. Without the cancer, I may never have opened the Back Nine Lincoln.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? - Golf (YEP!). Husker Football. Movies and Cooking. Spending time with loved ones. Who inspires you? - Marjorie Armstrong, my grandmother, was the strongest person I’ve ever known.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? - Time Travel. I’d like to spend one more day with my Mom and my Grandma Marge.
Which talent would you most like to have? - The ability to hit the long ball like Happy Gilmore.

What is your favorite movie? - Top Gun.
What is your favorite TV show? - Mayor of Kingstown or The Big Bang Theory.

Carson Hoover EMPIRE NETTING & FENCE
Carson Hoover is a Project Manager at Empire Netting & Fence.

Tell us a little about your business. - Empire is much more than a fence in your backyard. We’ve completed projects in 49 states, as well as in Peru and Costa Rica, bringing clients’ visions to life across a wide range of industries. Some of our clients include local businesses, large data centers, MLB stadiums, and community parks and recreation facilities. We specialize in a variety of services, including crash-rated fences and gates, backstop netting, dugouts, protective sports padding, custom handrails, balconies, temporary security fencing, gate operators and access control systems, solar lighting, and much more. Through the support of our sister companies (ESC Fabrication, Unlimited Sports Solutions, Hot Kote Powder Coating, MySalesmen, and The Wave) our capabilities are virtually limitless, allowing us to tackle even the most complex projects.
How did you get started in the business? - I’ve been around construction my entire life, growing up with my dad who owned his own general contracting business. This instilled in me a love for construction and a passion for turning ideas into tangible projects that others can enjoy. I earned a degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. During college and for several years afterward, I worked at Brester Construction, where I gained invaluable experience in project management and estimating. I’m deeply grateful for all the mentors who have guided me along the way and helped shape my professional journey.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? - The biggest challenge I’ve faced professionally has been developing leadership skills. Leadership is a lifelong process, and there’s always more to learn, whether it’s communicating clearly, motivating a team, making tough decisions or supporting people through change. Developing those skills takes time, experience and effort, but it’s also been one of the most rewarding parts of my growth.
Tell us a little about your family. - I have a beautiful wife, Jess, that is way out of my league. We have an 8-month-old baby girl, and a golden retriever named Millie.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? - I would start the morning by making a classic American breakfast (eggs, bacon, and toast) and having coffee with my wife. Then we’ll take a walk outside, enjoying the fresh air. Later, I like cooking a good steak dinner and ending the night around a fire, sipping an Old Fashioned, listening to music, and staring up at the stars. It’s simple, but that’s my perfect day.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? - My favorite quote is from my grandma when she was asked “What is the secret to life?” “Life is an attitude. Be positive. Look for the good in all people. Be all that you can be. You may not be the best, but you can do your best! You can’t change yesterday, but you can ruin today by worrying about tomorrow. Learn to give your time and talents to others. Life is short! Count your blessings every day. Finally, and most importantly, Keep Christ in your life.”
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?
- Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. I would highly recommend this book to someone who wants to start their leadership development but is being held back because they don’t like reading. It keeps you interested while providing real life stories about leadership principles.

Leigh Esau
Leigh Esau is the Founder of Foster Care Closet of Nebraska

Tell us a little about your business. - The Foster Care Closet of Nebraska is passionate about restoring dignity to youth in crisis. We bring the joy of choice through mobile shopping experiences. We travel as far west as Scottsbluff and catch Sidney, North Platte, Kearney and Grand Island. We then go to the north and serve Norfolk, Fremont and Winnebago. We have several shopping events in Lincoln during each season. When a child shops with us they get 5 tops and bottoms, 7 pairs of socks and underwear, 1 seasonal jacket, 1 pair of shoes and 1 pajama.
How did you get started in the business? - As a former foster child, adopted child, former foster parent and adoptive parent I understand the unique challenges that youth face. I couldn’t wait for someone else to do what needed to be done.
What has been your most important achievement professionally?

Tell us a little about your family. - I have a beautiful family. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 41 years. We have 6 children and 3 grandchildren. We also have 1 cat and 1 dog to round out the family.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
- I think one of the biggest turning points in my life was when I was chosen as an Inspire Award winner. The confidence it gave me to keep pushing forward, to know that others appreciated the work I was doing and how I was doing it was such an amazing feeling. It also drives me to be better each day.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? - I enjoy diamond art painting, fishing and playing pickleball. I also love to watch Husker sports.
Who inspires you? - A person who has been an inspiration in my life has been Dr. Tom Osborne. I started watching football when I was 11. I followed the team like most Husker fanatics. But I followed him because he was calm and kind. He set an example for others to follow.

“After 27+ years in the business, the time has come for me to retire,” says Randy King. King’s Inspections, LLC will cease operations on Dec. 30.
Thank you to the countless Realtors, Title Companies, Real Estate Attorneys, and others who have worked with King’s Inspection the last 27 years. “I am confident you will find a replacement for me; there are a lot of good inspection companies in Lincoln, and several that serve the greater Southeast Nebraska area as well.”

It has been a pleasure and a journey. Continuing education, credentialing, doing battle with the State of Nebraska Radon Division and their endless bureaucracy regarding reporting of Radon testing (that part will certainly not be missed) the yearly Area 7 Stakeholders meetings in the 4 state area, were all a large part of the company. Randy retires while holding the highest ranking of professionals in the industry: Certified Master Inspector.
“I have made a lot of friends, a few enemies, and helped thousands of people in their home buying adventures. I wish everyone the best as they move forward with their careers. As for me, I’m going fishin’” - Randy King.

CBMC Lincoln recently gathered with members of CBMC and the community to honor Ed Nix, who has faithfully served as Area Director from 2012–2025. The celebration, held November 24 at Lincoln Berean Church, recognized Ed’s remarkable leadership and the profound impact he has made in the lives of men across Lincoln’s business community.

Even before joining the staff team, Ed invested deeply in CBMC as a Forums member and volunteer, using his gift of encouragement to help others grow in their walk with Christ. Throughout his tenure, he became known for his wisdom, humility, and the personal relationships he built through intentional discipleship. Bridges to Hope proudly recognizes its founder, Pastor Bud Christenson, for his decades of unwavering dedication to helping individuals successfully reenter society after incarceration.
Pastor Bud’s mission began in the late 1990s when he and his late wife, Muriel, saw a need for tangible support for men and women leaving prison. Together, they acquired a warehouse to store and distribute donated household goods and clothing, creating a place where second chances could take root.

Under Pastor Bud’s leadership and vision, Bridges to Hope became officially incorporated in 2009 and achieved nonprofit 501(c)(3) status in 2011. Since then, the organization has grown tremendously, continuing to provide essential items, encouragement and hope to hundreds of returning citizens each year.
Although now retired from full-time ministry, Pastor Bud’s compassion and commitment remain steadfast. He continues to serve in prison ministry and as pastor of Friedens Lutheran Church, located at 6th and D Streets in Lincoln.
Bridges to Hope celebrates Pastor Bud Christenson for his lasting impact on countless lives and for building a legacy rooted in faith, compassion and second chances. His vision continues to inspire the work that Bridges to Hope carries forward today.

Lincoln Community Foundation recently announced that Vice President of Development – Legacy Planning, Richard K. “Chip” DeBuse II, will retire at the end of 2025.
Since joining LCF in 2013, DeBuse has worked directly with donors and their advisors on all types of gift planning, including annual gifts to donor advised funds and legacy gifts through their estates. He has helped shape philanthropic strategies that support both immediate community needs and long-term impact.

“I have learned so much from Chip over the years,” said President Tracy Edgerton. “But the most essential lessons have been the intangibles: bringing kind competence to every workday, putting people first, and living his values of integrity and connection.”
In his role at the Foundation, DeBuse has contributed to Lincoln Vital Signs, three iterations of Prosper Lincoln, the South of Downtown Community Development Organization, the inaugural LCF Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy program, and more. He graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law and served as a trust officer for 25 years before joining LCF.
“It has been a joy to have the opportunity to work with the staff and leadership of so many nonprofit organizations in their important work supporting our community,” said DeBuse. “I have been proud to be part of this incredible growth as a member of the Foundation’s thoughtful, professional team.” For more information, visit lcf.org.

Each year, Schemmer selects a non-profit to donate architectural and engineering design services through a program called Schemmer Gives Back, and the Foundry is thrilled to have been selected as this year’s recipient.

“For years we’ve asked how we can make the most of this space. If the opportunity came, how could we expand it to serve more people? We want a space that brings generations together. One that inspires today’s leaders and tomorrows. This grant with Schemmer hit at the perfect time.,” said Julie Murray-Jensen, Foundry Executive Director.
The Foundry is excited to serve its members and the greater Nebraska community by keeping its expansion open to the input and feedback of its residents. The Foundry acknowledges that its need for space capacity is largely due to the support its members, sponsors and partners, and friends have provided and continue to provide, so the Foundry intends to continue to rely on the suggestions and guidance of those high-achieving leaders and organizations by which it is surrounded.
Equally exciting is the opportunity for the Foundry to connect with even more purpose-driven organizations and missions essential to Nebraska’s wellbeing. The Foundry is always seeking collaborative avenues and purpose-driven partnerships, and thanks to the upcoming additional space, it will be searching for individuals and groups to make the expanded space their home and join a resilient and trailblazing Foundry community. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about upcoming available spaces, please contact hello@thefoundry.co.
The Nebraska Sports Council (NSC) is closing out another successful year marked by record participation, new partnerships and continued progress in promoting healthy, active lifestyles across the state.

In 2025, the NSC hosted a variety of statewide events, including the Cornhusker State Games, Lincoln and Omaha Corporate Games, Pumpkin Run, and the WellPower Movement, engaging tens of thousands of Nebraskans of all ages and abilities. These successes were made possible through the generous support of sponsors, volunteers, and community partners dedicated to advancing wellness and community connection.
Looking ahead to 2026, the NSC plans to build on this momentum with expanded opportunities for participation, volunteerism, and corporate engagement.
“We’re proud of the positive impact our events have on individuals and communities across Nebraska,” said NSC President, Dave Mlnarik. “Our mission remains focused on inspiring wellness and unity through sport.”
The Nebraska Sports Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides quality athletic and wellness programs for Nebraskans of all ages and abilities. Guideline Highlights:
• Choking in conscious children and adults recommends alternating five back blows followed by five abdominal thrusts, until the object is expelled or the person becomes unresponsive.
• Choking in infants updated to alternate between five back blows and five chest thrusts using the heel of one hand, until the foreign object is expelled or the infant becomes unresponsive.

• New algorithm for treating individuals with suspected opioid overdose, including public access on naloxone use.
• The systems of care volunteer writing group elected to revert to a single chain of survival for all forms of cardiac arrest, whether adult or pediatric, in- or out-of-hospital.
• Children 12 years old or older can be taught CPR and defibrillation.
• Support for media campaigns, instructor-led training and community training.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), opioid use can lead to death because opioids affect the part of the brain that regulates breathing. Signs of an opioid overdose include: slow, shallow or no breathing, choking or gurgling sounds, drowsiness or loss of consciousness, small, constricted pupils, blue or grey coloring of the skin, lips or nail beds.
Early CPR could double or triple a person’s chance of survival. New recommendations include:
• Consolidating the chain of survival into one chain, which highlights doing compressions and breaths, especially in children and infants. Previously, there were separate chains of survival for adults, infants and children experiencing a cardiac emergency, and for cases of in-hospital and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
• Aligning with new scientific evidence that suggests children 12 years old or older can be taught effective CPR and defibrillation.
• Further improving lay rescuer response to out-of-hospital cardiac arrests, by recommending the use of media awareness and education campaigns, increased instructor-led training and expanded community training.
Additional Resources:
• Available multimedia, including an updated Chain of Survival can be found here: newsroom.heart.org/news/updated-cprguidelines-tackle-choking-response-opioid-related-emergenciesand-a-revised-chain-of-survival?preview=1ece&preview_ mode=True.

Angels Among Us hosted their annual AAU Family Overnight at Lied Lodge at Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City in early November. This event brought together 22 pediatric cancer families to enjoy a ‘staycation’ for the whole family. Everyone enjoyed crafts, scavenger hunts, bonfires with s’mores, the Tree Adventure and lots of family fun.
Pediatric cancer families often face financial burdens that affect their daily lives. Family time can take a backseat due to treatment plans and hospital visits. Angels Among Us provides this Family Overnight as a free ‘staycation’ for families to relax and have fun away from the clinical environment.
The Family Overnight also serves as a connection for pediatric cancer families to share their experiences and expand their community. This is just one of the many Emotional Support Programs AAU provides throughout the year to walk alongside these families throughout their pediatric cancer journey. So far in 2025, AAU has had 772 emotional support touchpoints with families.
A special thank you to the Family Overnight’s sponsors who make this event possible: RBC and The Kelley Group, Veterans United, and the Seier Family.
AAU is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide financial and emotional support to any family whose child is battling pediatric cancer living in or being treated in the state of Nebraska. Since 2006, over 800 families have been supported with over $6 million in financial support. This year, more than 11,000 Nebraskans received a cancer diagnosis—and many faced financial barriers to life-saving care. Donations to the Heartland Cancer Foundation (HCF) help bridge that gap, covering essential housing and transportation costs so patients can focus on what matters most: healing.

“When I was diagnosed with triplenegative breast cancer, our world turned upside down,” explains Katie Rose, an HCF grant recipient. “With mounting medical bills, things got tight financially. Heartland Cancer Foundation was there for us during an extremely stressful time. Within days of applying, they helped cover our mortgage, giving us one less thing to worry about. My family and I will always be grateful.”
So far in 2025, HCF has helped 241 local cancer patients with housing and transportation grants totaling $176,631—with an additional $64,369 committed over the next 12 months. Patients can choose the areas where they need help most, whether it’s covering mortgages or rent, utilities, fuel expenses or car loans.
You can make a difference this holiday season by giving on Giving Tuesday (Dec. 2) or making a year-end gift. Tickets are also now available for the 11th Annual Impact Gala on Feb. 7, 2026 in Lincoln. Learn more or give today at heartlandcancerfoundation.org. Your compassion could be the spark of hope a patient desperately needs.

Due to recent changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the government shutdown, Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach is seeing a significant increase in the number of guests coming to the community kitchen for meals and to select food items from the Fresh Choice Pantry.

“During this crisis, our doors are open and we will continue to provide the nutrition and services people in our community count on every day,” said Alynn Sampson, executive director. “All are welcome, and we hope those who are struggling with food insecurity, maybe for the first time, will come in.”
Hot, nutritious meals are served every day from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Fresh Choice Pantry is open four days a week, and emergency food boxes are available Monday through Friday.
Individuals and businesses can help during these challenging times by:
• Holding a food drive for shelf-stable food, especially canned meats, canned fruits, cereal, and other prepackaged items that don’t require any preparation, like granola bars
• Holding a winter drive for blankets, hand warmers, L- XXL coats, gloves, and hats.

In October, Disrupting Traffick successfully helped a young woman leave trafficking and relocated to a recovery center in a different state. She stayed at the organization’s safe house, where a volunteer host and client advocate supported her while the team secured placement in a trafficking recovery program. The client advocate then transported her to the recovery program and helped her get settled.

The safe house program provides a welcome kit with personal hygiene items, comfortable clothing, and a soft blanket. Residents also get to shop for clothing at the resource center and receive all meals at the safe house during their stay.
The volunteer safe house host helps manage daily routines and provides important emotional support to women at the safe house, ensuring they are safe and cared for during their stay. From the first intake conversation to the last hug goodbye, they prioritize traumainformed, relational support to trafficking survivors during a highly vulnerable season of life. The organization’s goal is to ensure that when women are ready and able to leave trafficking, a safe place is available for them.

Since 2012, Visionary Youth has been a beacon of hope for youth and families facing financial challenges as they navigate some of the most challenging times of the year, including the holiday seasons. For many of our neighbors, the holidays can be an especially difficult time as parents look for ways to make the holidays special for their children while dealing with the demands of meeting everyday essential needs.

Now in its 7th year, the Community Holiday Toy Giveaway on Monday, Dec. 15 eases this burden by welcoming parents and guardians from more than 650 families to come and pick out gifts for youth. Every child should feel special at the holidays. The VY community comes together each year to help make that possible for families that may be struggling. As demand and costs rise, Visionary Youth is calling on the community to help make this effort possible.
There are several ways you can make an impact:
• Financial Sponsorship: Every donation counts, big or small, and helps VY reach more families in need.
• Toy Donations: Keep an eye out around town for VY Help a Star Shine donation sites where you can donate toys or check out the VY website for a list of toys needed and a link to the VY Amazon Wish List.
• Volunteer: It takes a village to make this event possible, make a difference with your time and energy.
• Spread the Word: Let others know about this life-changing opportunity to give back. Together, we can lift families beyond survival, strengthen community bonds, and help youth thrive with the support they need. Learn more and get involved today at visionaryouth.org.

Channel 94.1 Radio has launched its 23rd Annual Diaper Drive to collect over a million diapers to benefit Open Door Mission/ Lydia House. Lydia House provides shelter for women and families experiencing homelessness and women fleeing domestic violence. The diapers will also be given out as part of homeless prevention programs through Open Door Mission in its Outreach Centers.

The drive is Dec. 12 & 13 at the Linden Market HyVee at 132nd and Dodge Streets in Omaha. Semi-trucks provided by Werner will receive diaper donations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. - 5p.m. on Saturday. Diapers of any size are welcome donations, but sizes 4, 5, and 6 are most needed.
“We need all sizes of diapers, but sizes 4, 5, and 6 diapers are urgently needed to serve our families experiencing homelessness and poverty,” said Candace Gregory, President/CEO of Open Door Mission. “Sometimes potty training is interrupted or delayed for children experiencing homelessness so the larger sized diapers help our families finish that important process with dignity for everyone involved. We are so grateful to Channel 94.1 and their generous listeners for helping to supply our Diaper Depot so these families can get the diapers they need.”
If you can’t make it to the drive, but still want to help, you can make a financial gift to Open Door Mission or drop off diapers at donation drop off locations.

The Team Jack Foundation is set to hold its 4th Annual Takedown the Tumor Youth Wrestling Tournament! The Takedown will be held on Sunday, Dec. 7 at Papillion La Vista High School and is open to both boys and girls, pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. There are also divisions for Old Timers and Moms that want to get out on the mat. Three-foot-tall trophies will be awarded to the first winner in each youth bracket, with second through fourth place receiving custom four-inch custom medals. The proceeds from the event will benefit childhood brain cancer research.
The family of Kieran Akerson of Valley, Nebraska, is organizing the event. Kieran is an avid wrestler and in December 2020 was diagnosed with brain cancer. He underwent tumor resection surgery and continues to be monitored for further growth. After learning about the outdated treatments and severe lack of research funding for the disease, Kieran’s parents, Josh & Marie, wanted to do something to help. Thankfully, Kieran is back on the mat and is two-time Class A Nebraska State Wrestling medalist!
In addition to wrestling, the registrants can raise funds to help Team. Each fundraiser gets a unique donation link and earns prizes for various levels reached. In the first three years of the Takedown, more than $210,000 has been raised for childhood brain cancer research, of which $62,000 has come from fundraising by the wrestlers!

Tickets are officially live for Chips for Change: The Roaring Raise, the second annual casino-night fundraiser hosted by local business leaders to support Child Legacy International’s lifesaving work in Malawi, Africa. The event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, from 5:30–10 p.m. at the South Lincoln Morrow Collision Center.

Last year’s inaugural event raised an incredible $87,000, helping fund CLI’s neonatal center, which provides life-saving care for complicated deliveries. This year, the focus turns to funding a new pediatric unit, offering treatment for illnesses affecting Malawian children — especially malaria, one of the region’s greatest threats.
Guests will step into a full 1920s speakeasy experience, complete with casino gaming tables, Italian dinner, desserts, open bar, professional dealers, and live and silent auctions. Attendees will also hear a short presentation from CLI’s Co-Founder, Jeff Rogers.
Guests are encouraged to dress in Roaring 20s–inspired attire, capturing the timeless glamour of the era — flapper dresses, beads, feathers, pearls, sequins, tuxedos, fedoras, and vintage flair. Not into full Gatsby mode? A touch of Vegas-style casino chic works perfectly too.
The vibe: Have fun, feel fabulous, and bring the era to life.
“We were blown away by the generosity of our community last year,” said event co-host Renee Sobotka. “This year’s event is bigger, bolder, and has the potential to truly transform healthcare access for kids in Malawi. Every ticket sold, every sponsor, every silent-auction item — it all directly impacts lives.”

Clinic with a Heart has spent the last 22 years caring for the sick and vulnerable in our community, standing as a beacon of hope, not just for the patients treated, but for our city as a whole, because health is the cornerstone of strong communities. This year, CWH had held over 2500 visits, superseding the previous three years’ appointments by more than 200 visits. Although poverty in Lincoln has decreased from 14.9% in 2014 to 11.2% in 2023, as identified by the Community Health Endowment of Lincoln, access to healthcare is still limited. Despite working full-time, James was unable to afford healthcare. When his health took a turn for the worse, he had nowhere to go. James had heard from a friend that Clinic with a Heart was a free clinic there for people like him with no insurance and no way of paying for the services he desperately needed. At first, when he’d heard about Clinic with a Heart, he didn’t believe it. He didn’t think there would be medical volunteers compassionate enough to provide help without something in return. The services he received at Clinic with a Heart enabled him to return to work, and more importantly, inspired him to take the next step in his career and give back to the community that had kindly cared for him. James was able to graduate from the police academy and became a part of one of the many people protecting our city. To this day, James works with the Lincoln Police Department, and when time allows, returns to volunteer at our Clinic, aiding in our mission to bring health and hope one patient at a time.

In the last 31 years, Nebraska Community Foundation’s (NCF) network of 256 affiliated funds has invested nearly $600 million into communities, underscoring NCF’s mission to unleash abundant local assets, inspire charitable giving and connect ambitious people to build stronger communities and a Greater Nebraska. The NCF network benefits 266 communities in 82 of Nebraska’s 93 counties, stretching from the panhandle to the Missouri River. Building robust unrestricted endowments is key to ensuring communities maintain the capacity to pursue innovation on their own terms. An unrestricted endowment generates investment income year after year, which volunteer-led fund advisory committees can use to make grants. More than 50 affiliated funds have annual payouts of at least $10,000, and 20 communities are currently answering homegrown fundraising challenges that will grow their unrestricted endowments.
“We have seen exponential and remarkable growth in our network, especially over the last few years,” said NCF President and CEO Jeff Yost. “We owe that success to our incredible volunteers who everyday invite their family, friends, neighbors and fellow Nebraskans to join them in building vibrant, diverse, welcoming and resilient communities that can only exist in Greater Nebraska.”Hundreds of those invitees conveneed in La Vista on Nov. 13 for NCF’s 2025 Annual Fund Training and Celebration, themed “You Belong Here.” NCF volunteers and fellow ambitious Nebraskans gathered for a day of peer learning and training on a variety of topics including fundraising, marketing, impact grantmaking, community economic development and more. Home fires increase during the holiday months, often sparked by cooking accidents, unattended candles or unsafe decorations. The American Red Cross of Nebraska urges everyone to take simple steps to stay safe while celebrating.

Cooking Safety Tips: Follow these safety tips and visit redcross.org/ fire for more information, including a fire escape plan to practice with your family. Stay in the kitchen when you are cooking. Avoid wearing loose clothing. Keep kids and pets at least three feet away. Clean cooking surfaces on a regular basis to prevent grease buildup. Keep a fire extinguisher in the kitchen. Always check the kitchen before going to bed or leaving home to make sure all appliances are turned off.
Holiday Decorating and Heating Safety: December is the peak month for candle fires, which cause about 20 home fires a day on average in the United States, and heating equipment remains one of the leading causes of home fires. Provide at least three feet of space around all heating equipment. Never leave space heaters unattended. If you use a space heater, place it on a level, hard and nonflammable surface, such as a ceramic tile floor. If you use candles, keep them away from anything that could burn and place them out of reach of pets and children.
Smoke Alarms Save Lives: Install a smoke alarm near your kitchen, on each level of your home, near sleeping areas, and inside and outside bedrooms if you sleep with doors closed. Use the test button to check the batteries and replace batteries once a year. If you cannot afford to purchase smoke alarms, the Red Cross may be able to help.

The gifts will need to be returned to the participating businesses by Monday, Dec. 15. CASA volunteers will then deliver the gifts to the children. Please consider making the season brighter for an at-risk child in the community by choosing a tag and purchasing an item from a child’s wish list.
About CASA for Lancaster County CASA for Lancaster County is a local nonprofit that recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in juvenile court. CASA volunteers get to know the children, as well as the circumstances and issues surrounding their families. 72% of Americans say they go out to eat at restaurants to avoid cooking at home.

As we approach the end of 2025 and begin planning for 2026, I wanted to share some insights on the consumer dining industry, a sector projected to reach a staggering $1.5 trillion in revenue for 2025. This figure, equivalent to a stack of $100 bills 631 miles high, highlights the immense scale of the industry, even before factoring in potential inflation and new embargo fees.
My experience in this industry dates back to 1978 when I co-founded DAVINCI’S Pizza, and later, GREENFIELD’S CAFE in 2008. Over the years, I’ve been involved in opening more than 20 business locations, including my first Ghost Kitchen in 2022, a trend that has accelerated significantly since Covid.
The dining landscape has undergone continuous changes since the initial impact of Covid in 2020. In 2023, we saw an all-time high for the share of food dollars spent “away from home” at 55.1%. By 2024, consumers were still allocating 55% of their food budget to dining out, with the average American dining out 5 times per month, up from 3 times in 2023.
Despite these strong projections, the food service industry is currently struggling to redefine itself. Inflation, weather events, tariffs and other global events are expected to continue into 2025, posing significant challenges. Over 50% of businesses, including national chains, are struggling to make a profit. We’ve also faced local challenges, such as the 2% arena tax in Lincoln, which negatively impacted our restaurant sales.
I firmly believe that technology must be the driving force for all businesses to navigate these challenges and seize opportunities.
At DAVINCI’S, technology has been crucial to our success. We were among the first to offer online ordering and computerized cash registers. In the past 12 months, we’ve rolled out new phone systems, point-of-sale systems, R365 accounting systems, and digital communication boards. At QTEQ Computers, another one of my businesses, we are even exploring offering robots for sale. I am passionate about technology and would be happy to discuss the long list of new technologies we’ve deployed and are developing in 2025 and 2026.
My “20/20 Rule” aims for a net 20% profit and 20% growth per year in overall sales for my businesses, which can double a company’s sales in approximately 3.6 years. This requires setting S.M.A.R.T. goals and utilizing various tools, including continuous learning. While resources like “Traction” and “Rocket Fuel” were valuable, today we need to focus on understanding and implementing advancements like ChatGPT AI and other emerging technologies.

When Government Becomes the Competitor: Why Taxpayer-Funded Public Sector Undermines Free Enterprise
For more than 45 years, the Lincoln Independent Business Association (LIBA) has held an unwavering belief in the free enterprise system; those private businesses, not government, are the best engines of innovation, efficiency, and prosperity.

To LIBA, free enterprise means allowing private businesses to compete with minimal government interference – trusting market forces, not bureaucracy, to serve the public best.
This belief is hardly new. Ronald Reagan has previously said, “There is barely anything that the public sector can do as effectively and efficiently as the private sector.” Long before that – dating back to our nation’s founding - Adam Smith – often referred to as the “father of modern economics” – argued in The Wealth of Nations for the power of free markets driven by the “invisible hand”: the idea that individuals pursuing their own self-interest will contribute to the overall economic good. When markets are allowed to operate freely, resources are allocated efficiently, innovation thrives, and wealth grows.
But these ideas aren’t just talking points – they are playing out right now in Lincoln’s childcare system. Matt Schulte, who is currently serving District 3 as a Commissioner of Lancaster County, observed firsthand – during his time on the Lincoln Board of Education - the growing push to expand preschool classrooms in every elementary school across our district. That movement was driven by advocacy groups such as First Five Nebraska and strongly encouraged by the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE). To help launch these new programs, NDE provided grants to school districts willing to open preschool classrooms.
At first glance, this might sound like a win for families. After all, the perception of free preschool inside the public school system feels like an easy solution for parents facing the high costs of childcare. But the reality is more complicated.
Those grants weren’t “free money”. They were funded by taxpayers – and they were temporary - lasting only three to five years. This guaranteed that the financial burden would eventually be shifted to local citizens.
Without a doubt, running a day care is expensive and difficult work. The youngest children require the highest staff-to-child ratios, which makes infant care the least profitable and most labor-intensive part of the business. Providers often balanced those costs with the older, preschool-aged children who could be supervised at a lower ratio. When public schools began offering taxpayer-funded preschools, many three- and four-year-olds shifted out of private centers. Those older kids had been essential to the business model that allowed providers to afford infant care, the most expensive, least profitable

age group. Removing them upsets the balance, leaving many private providers unable to survive, which is borne out by statistics.
According to First Five Nebraska, between 2019 and 2023, the number of licensed in-home providers dropped 19.4% in metropolitan areas and 13.2% in non-metropolitan areas. According to Lincoln Littles, since November 2023, there have been 8, possibly 9, childcare centers that have closed.
And yet here we are, asking ourselves – how did we end up with such a shortage of daycare providers? The answer is in our own hands.
The same issue shows up beyond childcare. The City of Lincoln recently approved using taxpayer-funded general obligation bonds to create a new downtown library that will include “flexible community spaces, a makerspace, and a rooftop auditorium.”
Admirable? Perhaps. But those features compete directly with local private and nonprofit venues like Fuse Coworking, Turbine Flats, Nebraska Innovation Studio, The Foundry, the Marriott, Embassy Suites, and the Talon Room — even the new convention center, which itself will be taxpayer-funded.
To make matters worse, city officials confirmed, during presentations, that the rooftop auditorium alone carries a $5 million price tag — $5 million that local taxpayers are footing to build a venue that will compete with businesses already providing the same service.
And let’s not forget that the Lincoln Electric System pays the City of Lincoln an annual dividend, direct to the city for utility ownership and payment instead of taxes to the City and other local governments. In 2024, those payments amount to almost $26,000,000. $26M that is ultimately passed onto LES customers.
Whether it’s daycare, libraries, or utilities, Lincoln faces a growing tension between public expansion and private innovation. LIBA believes it’s time to restore balance — to let entrepreneurs, not government programs, drive growth and opportunity.
That begins with asking hard questions:
• Should Lincoln Public Schools really be in the business of competing with private daycares?
• Should taxpayers fund projects that undercut small businesses?
• Should the City of Lincoln (and other local governments) continue to receive revenue from the utility system that taxpayers already own (LES)?
At its core, this isn’t about being “anti-government.” It’s about ensuring that government stays in its lane — creating the conditions where private businesses can flourish, not replacing them. Lincoln’s strength and future have always come from the entrepreneurs, small business owners, and dreamers who take risks, create jobs, and invest in our community. By empowering innovation and keeping free enterprise free, we ensure that both our local economy and our neighborhoods continue to thrive. Let’s protect that spirit by keeping government focused on governance, and opportunity in the hands of those who know it best — our local businesses.

Announcing the Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplaces Certification Program
Jason Ball, President & CEO – Lincoln Chamber of Commerce
Thriving families are the foundation of a strong workforce. As Lincoln continues to grow, supporting working parents and expanding access to quality early childhood education remain essential to sustaining our economic prosperity. The Vitality Lincoln Strategic Plan underscores this commitment, recognizing that investing in family well-being and early childhood care is key to developing a diverse and resilient workforce. By ensuring families have the resources they need to succeed, Lincoln is building the framework for long-term economic growth and a more inclusive community where both businesses and families can continue to thrive.

The Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development (LPED) and Lincoln Littles are advancing that mission with the launch of the Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplaces Certification Program, a new initiative designed to highlight employers who prioritize the well-being of working parents and their families.
This new certification program recognizes businesses that implement family-friendly workplace policies, positioning them to attract and retain a strong and inclusive workforce. From flexible scheduling and paid parental leave to hybrid work options and caregiver support, the Family-Friendly Workplaces Certification celebrates employers who create environments where their employees have the resources they need to build rewarding careers while also effectively caring for their families.
This initiative reflects a growing understanding that family-friendly workplaces are more than just an employee benefit--they are truly a strategic advantage for employers. By ensuring that working parents have the access they need to early childhood care and flexible workplace options, Lincoln’s business community is contributing to a more resilient and competitive workforce. In turn, this elevates Lincoln’s ability to attract and retain top talent and young professionals.
Certified employers will be featured on a public map for job seekers and their families, as well as highlighted on LPED and Lincoln Littles platforms such as social media, website and various events. Each certified business will also receive a decal and digital badge to proudly display their commitment to supporting families in the workplace.
The certification process begins with a free, 15-minute selfassessment, reviewed quarterly by the Lincoln Littles Board of Advisors Engagement Committee. To qualify, companies must meet at least seven of ten key criteria to demonstrate their commitment to building family-friendly workplace practices. Each step of the simple certification process offers practical examples for businesses and organizations striving to strengthen their policies in an effort to better support their teams.
Supporting working parents is not just good for families, it is a smart investment in Lincoln’s economic vitality. Together, we are building a stronger business community that is defined by growth, inclusivity and opportunities for ongoing success. HVAC systems have evolved beyond simple on/off operation. Advances in variable-speed inverter technology, smart controls, and system design allow modern units to adjust output in real time, reducing energy use, improving comfort, lowering noise, and extending equipment life. New refrigerants and efficiency standards also boost overall performance.
Choosing an energy-efficient system involves three factors: selecting the right type (like variable-speed heat pumps or high-efficiency furnaces), proper sizing and design, and professional installation. At Custom Cooling & Heating, every system is tailored to the home for optimal performance.

Regular maintenance ensures efficiency, prevents costly repairs, maintains airflow, and extends system life. Modern products like Daikin Fit inverter heat pumps, smart thermostats, zoned ducting, and high-performance filtration enhance comfort, air quality, and energy savings and even in Nebraska winters.
Custom Cooling & Heating evaluates the whole system, including ductwork, insulation, ventilation, and controls. Popular upgrades include heat pump replacements with rebates, smart thermostats, duct sealing, high-efficiency furnaces, and variable-speed air handlers. Rising utility costs, comfort expectations, and incentives are driving energy-efficiency upgrades.
For example, a Lincoln homeowner who installed a Daikin Fit inverter heat pump lowered utility bills, qualified for City of Lincoln and LES incentives, and enjoys quieter, more consistent temperatures. To save energy this winter, replace filters regularly, program thermostats efficiently, seal gaps, keep vents clear, schedule tune-ups, and consider upgrading systems older than 15–18 years.
At Lincoln Electric System (LES), being energy efficient means using energy wisely and achieving the same results while using less energy. As part of its mission to serve the Lincoln community, LES helps residents and businesses understand their energy use and adopt energy-efficient practices.
LES takes a comprehensive approach to energy efficiency. The utility offers financial incentives for energy-efficient upgrades and emphasizes education and outreach to help the community manage energy use. Services include energy

to additional resources for more in-depth assessments. LES also engages with the public at community events and speaking engagements throughout the year.
One of LES’s signature educational resources is EdITH, the Educational Interactive Tiny Home, which showcases energy-efficient technologies such as induction cooktops and heat pump water heaters. Additionally, LES is piloting an income-qualifying energy-efficiency program in one of Lincoln’s most underserved neighborhoods and continues to explore new programs and tools to expand its impact. Together, these initiatives help customers reduce energy waste, save on utility bills, and support LES in maintaining a reliable and sustainable energy grid.
Through LES’s Sustainable Energy Program (SEP), residential, commercial, and industrial customers can receive financial incentives for qualified high-efficiency equipment, lighting controls, building envelope improvements, and approved custom projects. For example, a customer replacing an air conditioner and electric-resistance heat

with a heat pump system can save roughly 5,000 to 7,000 kWh per year, or $300 to $400. Large commercial and industrial projects often yield even greater savings.
Over the past few years, Lincoln has seen a strong community focus on sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. Many residents and businesses have adopted technologies such as LED lighting, smart thermostats, heat pumps, and variable-speed equipment. Interest in electrification and renewable energy has also grown, as people become more aware of how everyday behaviors affect energy use.
Emerging trends shaping the future of energy efficiency in Lincoln include electrification, industrial heat pumps, induction heating, and other innovative technologies that reduce energy waste. Biggerstaff Plumbing offers practical ways to save energy during the winter months. One important step is to insulate all hot water supply lines from the water heater to every water stop in the home or business. Tankless water heaters are the most efficient way to heat water. When you turn a hot water valve on, it heats the water, and when you turn the hot water valve off, the water heater goes into standby mode. The gas valve also shuts off to avoid wasting energy. A circulating line from the tankless water heater to the furthest hot water valve will save a significant amount of water and gas. Both environmental and energy conservation go hand in hand. Water and energy consumption is a common topic, especially with rising utility bills. Dripping faucets or fill valves in toilets keep filling water periodically, which can run up energy bills and triple water bills. Servicing customers’ equipment annually helps keep equipment performance at the standards the plate rating specifies.
Customers are increasingly interested in tankless water heaters and highefficiency furnaces to carry them into

the future. Rebates from energy companies and manufacturers can help offset costs. One commercial customer replaced a light-duty gas water heater with a tankless gas water heater because they were not getting consistent hot water to a three-compartment sink and a hand sink.
After calculations, the tankless option was the best solution. The customer later said they wished they had made the change years ago, as they are now saving time and have hot water when needed. They also commented that it is comforting knowing they are not wasting water in daily duties.
First, look at areas in your home or business where air passes through from the outside and seal and insulate to keep the cold out and the warm in. Secondly, check your thermostat is set at 68 degrees while you are not home or at work to keep the heating unit from running more often and energy costs down.
This winter, staying comfortable doesn’t have to mean higher energy bills. The holiday season is already a pricey one with traveling, gift giving, party prep, the list goes on. Saving energy also means saving money. These highlighted businesses are here to help you with any questions you may have. Local experts like Engineered Controls, Custom Cooling & Heating, Biggerstaff Plumbing, and LES offer tips, upgrades, and programs to help you save energy and money.
Maybe you want to replace filters, get your thermostats programmed, seal gaps, keep vents clear, schedule tune-ups, consider upgrading systems, or you just want to be more environment-friendly... Regradless of whether you are looking to save energy this season these businesses are here to help in any way they can. Doing simple house evaluations and asking local experts for thier input can make a big difference for your comfort and the environment. So save energy, money, and the environment this season.

Giving gifts is more than a tradition. It’s a way of expressing connection, gratitude and love. A thoughtful gift shows someone that you truly see them, that you’ve taken the time to understand what brings them joy or meaning. It’s not about the price or size, but the sentiment behind it — the act of saying, you matter to me. Whether it marks a milestone, celebrates a success or simply brightens an ordinary day, gift-giving strengthens relationships and creates shared moments that linger long after the occasion has passed. In a world that moves quickly, a well-chosen gift is a small but powerful reminder of care, appreciation and human connection.
Experiences and Gatherings
Once upon a snowy December evening, in the heart of Lincoln, there stood a place where holiday dreams came to life — Venue 5 Twenty-Two. It wasn’t just a building of grand halls and sparkling lights; it was a place where laughter danced through the air and every gathering shimmered with a touch of Christmas magic.
Inside, tables glimmered beneath chandeliers like freshly fallen snow under moonlight. The scent of warm food drifted through the air, mingling with the cheerful sounds of friends and coworkers sharing stories from the year gone by. Outside, the fire pits crackled merrily, their glow wrapping guests in a cozy embrace as they sipped festive

With more than 17,000 square feet of enchanting indoor and outdoor space, Venue 5 Twenty-Two could transform into anything your holiday heart desired, a grand winter ball, a joyful company feast, or an intimate fireside celebration. Tucked away, the private suites, once reserved for brides and grooms, offered quiet little havens, perfect for secret plans, warm laughter or a peaceful moment by the glow of the tree.
And even as December fades, the holiday magic continues. Venue 5 Twenty-Two carries the festive spirit into January and February, creating celebrations that feel just as merry and bright. So if you’d rather skip the rush and host your gathering after the holidays, this magical venue and its joyful staff will make it feel like Christmas every day.
When the weather turns cold and the golf courses are covered in frost, The Back Nine Lincoln South becomes a cozy place to keep the love of the game alive. It’s where golfers gather to stay sharp

through the winter months — and where families and friends come together to share a little friendly competition and a lot of laughter.

This holiday season, The Back Nine is encouraging people to focus on experiences over things. Spending time together, learning something new and keeping a favorite pastime going through the winter makes for lasting memories. Whether it’s a quiet hour working on your swing in the simulator or a weekend outing with the whole family, the experience brings people closer while keeping the fun of golf alive until spring returns. The Back Nine is the perfect holiday place to get the office golfers together, but if you want a more formal, fullservice place to host, The Talon Room in Downtown Lincoln isn’t just a place to throw a party; it’s a space where memories are made, laughter fills the room, and the end of the year feels truly celebrated.

With customizable catering, a full bar and seasonal décor that turns the space into your own winter celebration, the Talon Room makes it easy to turn a simple night out into a shared experience.

Their holiday package makes planning effortless — just $40 per person for five hours of private venue time and a two-entree buffet for groups of 100 or more. You bring the people; they’ll bring the magic.
So instead of another “office party” that still feels like work, gift your team a night that feels like a thank-you and a celebration of everything you accomplished together. The Talon Room has the space, the service, and the sparkle to make it happen.
Every year, we chase the perfect holiday gift, something that says, “I know you. I appreciate you. I see you.” But the best gifts aren’t just objects. They’re moments, experiences, feelings, and memories that last long after the wrapping paper is gone.
Maybe it’s the sparkle in their eyes when they open a box that holds something truly personal, something that feels made just for them. That’s the magic of thoughtful giving.
For 120 years, Sartor Hamann has helped Lincoln transform gifts into memories. We’ve watched generations celebrate engagements, anniversaries, milestones, and small everyday joys with pieces that don’t just shine, but tell stories. From timeless classics to rare vintage treasures to watches that mark life’s biggest achievements, every piece is chosen with care and crafted to last.

And when you want to give something beyond the ordinary, our expert jewelers can help bring a vision to life—whether that’s designing a brandnew heirloom, reimagining a family diamond, or engraving a message only the two of you will ever know.

So this season, think beyond the checklist. Choose a gift that captures a feeling, a promise, a thank-you, a shared history. And when you’re ready to make it sparkle, Sartor Hamann— celebrating 120 years of love, luxury, and legacy—will be here to help you find the one.
Some of the best gifts in life don’t come in boxes or holiday wrapping. They are the moments that happen around a table—the shared laughter, the stories told between bites, the feeling of belonging. For decades, DAVINCI’S has been part of those moments in Lincoln, feeding families, friends, coworkers, and neighbors with pizza, pasta, and hoagies that feel like home.

This holiday season, the table takes on even greater meaning. Mornings become warmer and slower when shared with Greenfield’s skillets and fresh coffee. Evenings are filled with the familiar scent of baked pasta, melted cheese, and hoagies stacked just right. Plates are passed, bites are shared, and glasses are raised. These are the moments that fill the season—not the rush, but the time spent gathered together.
A DAVINCI’S gift card may seem simple at first glance, but it offers something more meaningful: an invitation. It invites someone to slow down for a meal, to meet a friend, to sit across from someone they care about and savor not just the food, but the time. It’s a promise that memories will be made—whether it’s laughing about a slice of pizza that didn’t quite make it to the plate, or lingering long after dessert because the conversation is too good to end.
Even the desserts have a way of telling their own story. The espressosoaked ladyfingers and velvety mascarpone of tiramisu, or the soft, oversized cookies that disappear faster than expected—these are more than sweet treats. They are pauses. They are excuses to stay just a little longer. They are the punctuation marks on the moments we try hardest to hold onto.
This season, the gift of DAVINCI’S isn’t just about food. It’s about the people at the table. The meals we linger over, the cookies we split, the conversations we return to long after the plates are cleared— these are the gifts that last.
And they can’t be wrapped. They can only be shared. The holidays are about more than presents under the tree. They are about moments spent together, laughter shared over a meal, and toasts made to the people who matter most. Salt Mine City Brewing Co . is a place where those moments unfold naturally.
Located in Lincoln’s Haymarket District, the brewery invites guests to slow down and enjoy one another’s company.

Friends gather over small-batch beers, from crisp lagers to bold IPAs and rich seasonal brews, while hearty comfort dishes make sharing a meal as easy as sharing a story. Each visit becomes a chance to connect, to laugh a little louder, and to savor time together, a gift that cannot be wrapped.
Whether you are planning a birthday celebration, a work gathering, or a casual night out with friends, Salt Mine City’s private party room provides a welcoming space for creating memories. With room for small groups, a full menu of crowd-pleasing food, and fresh craft beer on tap, every gathering becomes an opportunity to celebrate and enjoy one another’s company.
Giving the gift of an experience at Salt Mine City Brewing is about more than an outing. It is about offering the gift of time together, shared laughter, and connection. A quiet winter evening over a seasonal stout or a lively table filled with friends toasting the year past becomes a present that will be remembered long after the glasses are empty.
In a season full of hurry and noise, Salt Mine City Brewing reminds us that the most meaningful gifts are the ones that bring people together. It is a place to slow down, connect, and celebrate the simple pleasure of being with the people who matter most.
There’s a special kind of joy that comes from giving something made with love, something that has been carefully crafted by hand, meant to be shared and savored. That’s the spirit behind Sweet Things by Marcy, where every pie, pudding and cake feels like a heartfelt gift all on its own.

Marcy, a proud veteran and baker with deep Southern roots, pours her heart into creating desserts that remind people of home, the kind of treats that bring everyone to the table and make even ordinary moments feel like holidays. From her silky banana pudding to her famous pecan and sweet potato pies, each dessert tells a story of tradition, care, and community.
There’s something timeless about giving baked goods as a gift. A homemade pie or a box of carefully wrapped desserts carries a kind

of meaning that can’t be found on a store shelf. It’s a way to show appreciation through something warm and tangible. The sweetness lingers long after the first slice is gone, becoming part of a shared memory between the giver and the receiver.
For those looking to give more than a store-bought gift this year, Sweet Things by Marcy offers a delicious way to show appreciation. A beautifully boxed pie or dessert platter makes for a thoughtful client gift, a gesture of thanks to a host, or a sweet surprise for someone special. Each creation is made from scratch with real ingredients and a generous touch of Southern hospitality, making it as meaningful as it is mouthwatering.
Whether you’re sending something sweet across town or setting the centerpiece of your own holiday table, Marcy’s desserts bring warmth, nostalgia, and joy to every celebration. The best gifts do not just sparkle under the tree; they fill the room with laughter, the air with sweetness, and the heart with memories that last long after the last bite.

Some of the best gifts are not things you can wrap. They are the moments you spend together, the laughter that fills a room, and the memories that linger long after the holidays have passed. Sun Valley Lanes & Games is a place where those moments come to life.

From the first strike on the bowling lanes to the playful chaos of laser tag and the quiet fun of mini-golf, every activity offers a chance to connect. Families, friends, and coworkers can step away from their daily routines and simply enjoy each other’s company. The air is filled with laughter, the excitement of friendly competition, and the warmth that comes from being together.
Giving someone the gift of time at Sun Valley Lanes & Games is about more than an outing. It is about creating memories that they

can carry with them long after the balls are returned and the lights go down. Whether it is an afternoon spent cheering on a child’s first strike, a night of laughter with friends, or a chance to bring coworkers closer through shared play, it is the shared experience itself that becomes the gift.
In a season that can feel rushed and busy, it is a reminder that the most meaningful celebrations are the ones where people gather, connect, and enjoy one another. The simple joy of spending time together can be as sweet as any present, and places like Sun Valley Lanes & Games make those moments easy to find and impossible to forget.
The holidays are about wonder, shared experiences, and moments that bring people together. For families in Lincoln, the Nebraska Christmas Lights Show has become a place where those moments come alive. Driving through the twinkling displays, visitors are enveloped in color, music, and the magic of the season. Each turn brings a new scene to admire, a new opportunity to laugh, marvel, and create a memory with loved ones.

This year, the show is smoother and brighter than ever with two lanes of traffic, including a VIP lane that offers special touches like free treats, glowing LED necklaces, and even a red-carpet photo opportunity. These small gestures enhance the experience, turning a simple drive into a festive adventure that can be shared with family, friends, or a special someone.
For many, the light show is more than a display. It marks personal milestones and holiday traditions. Families have celebrated anniversaries, birthdays, gender reveals, and even proposals within its glow. Children wave from car windows, parents pause to take pictures, and grandparents watch in delight as their loved ones experience the wonder together. The light tunnel is one of the most photographed spots, capturing the joy and connection that the season inspires.
Every piece of the show is custom-built in Lincoln, combining artistry and technology to create a spectacle unlike any other. The lights are individually programmed to dance with precision, making every visit feel unique and alive. For the creator, this is a gift to the city that has supported his family and business for over twenty years, a way to give back to the community while spreading holiday cheer.
Visiting the Nebraska Christmas Lights Show is more than a holiday outing. It is a chance to slow down, marvel at the beauty around you, and share laughter and wonder with the people you care about. In Lincoln, this light show is a gift of connection, joy, and the magic that makes the season feel truly alive.
The holidays are a time to slow down, step away from routines, and spend meaningful moments with the people who matter most. In the rush of shopping lists, parties, and decorations, it is easy to forget that the season is about connection, shared laughter, teamwork, and the simple joy of being present with others.
One of the most unexpected ways to experience that connection is through Escape Lincoln. Their escape rooms invite friends, family, and coworkers to put phones away, work together, and solve puzzles in a way that feels playful, engaging, and full of discovery. Every clue found and challenge overcome becomes a small celebration, a reminder of the joy that comes from being part of a team. It is a chance to give someone the gift of attention, laughter, and shared accomplishment, a present that cannot be bought in a store.

During the holidays, the experience grows even richer. Special events like the Masquerade Murder Mystery transform a night out into a festive adventure, mixing curiosity and creativity with the warmth
of companionship. Cozy touches in the lobby, hidden surprises, and lively music create a welcoming space where guests can pause from the season’s chaos and focus on what really matters, time together.
Escape Lincoln is also working on The Nook, a new community space designed to help people slow down, unplug, and build real connections beyond the screens. Gifting time at Escape Lincoln, or in the future at The Nook, is a way to give someone the chance to share an experience that is about presence, connection, and joy rather than things.
This season, the most meaningful gifts are not wrapped with ribbons. They are experiences, adventures, and moments spent side by side. Escape Lincoln provides a chance to give that gift, a reminder that the best way to celebrate the holidays is together.
The holidays are a time to slow down, to savor moments, and to gather with the people who matter most. Capital Cigar Lounge turns those simple gatherings into an experience. It is a place where the warmth of good company meets the ritual of a finely crafted cigar, where conversations flow as naturally as the drinks, and where the act of being present becomes the gift itself.

There is a certain pleasure in the tactile experience of a cigar, carefully chosen, unwrapped, and lit. Holding it, feeling its texture, and enjoying the first draw is a ritual that invites focus and mindfulness. Paired with a hand-crafted cocktail, a glass of wine, or a favorite beer, each cigar becomes more than a flavor. It becomes a shared moment. With friends, family, or colleagues, that simple act of enjoying a fine cigar together transforms ordinary time into something memorable.
Gifting an experience at Capital Cigar Lounge is about more than a membership or a box of cigars. It is an invitation to slow down, connect, and celebrate relationships. Even small touches enhance the experience. From the refined atmosphere to the fresh air ventilation, every detail ensures comfort, conversation, and presence. With colder weather keeping gatherings indoors, the lounge becomes a cozy retreat for connection and celebration. A gift to Capital Cigar Lounge is a gift of time, attention, and shared enjoyment that lingers long after the cigars are finished.
This holiday season, the most meaningful gifts may not be things. They are the laughter, the conversations, and the moments spent together. At Capital Cigar Lounge, every visit is an opportunity to give the gift of presence, connection, and the simple joy of sharing a well-crafted experience.
At Lincoln Running Co., the season is filled with opportunities to connect while keeping active. Every Wednesday at 6 p.m., runners gather for the Cookie Co Cookie Run, a chance to get a winter workout in and celebrate with a sweet treat at the finish. It is more than just a run. It is a weekly reminder that the season is richer when shared with others, that every step and every cookie is a small gift of joy and connection.

On Shop Small Saturday, the tradition continues with the “Shop Small - Sweat Big Run.” Runners meet at 7:30 a.m., head out for a brisk morning run, and return to the store for Cromlettes and coffee from The Coffee House. The gift here is layered: the exhilaration of exercise, the warmth of hot coffee, the taste of a freshly made treat, and the laughter and camaraderie of fellow runners. These experiences are about nourishing both body and community, making the season feel lighter and brighter.
Along with organized runs, the shop offers winter apparel that keeps runners warm, comfortable, and motivated. A thoughtful gift of high-quality running gear is more than clothing, it is encouragement, support, and a way to show someone you care about their passions and well-being.
Even as the year winds down and the races slow, these weekly runs and thoughtful gifts of connection keep the spirit of movement alive. This holiday season, give the gift of community, activity, and shared joy. A run, a warm cookie, a cup of coffee, or the perfect winter layer can become the moments that make the holidays memorable for the people you care about.
The holidays are a season of warmth, generosity and small gestures that carry big meaning. At Ryan’s Market, every gift tells a story, one of care, purpose and connection. Founded with the dream of creating opportunities for people with special needs, the market has become a place where giving goes beyond objects. connection, presence, and the happiness we share with one another.
Gifting from Ryan’s Market is a chance to give more than a product. A bird feeder can bring someone closer to nature, a jar of syrup can create a cozy morning ritual, and handmade creations carry the love and effort of someone who cares deeply about their work. Each gift leaves a lasting impression, reminding the recipient of the joy they helped bring into someone else’s life.
This season, a gift from Ryan’s Market is a way to share warmth, kindness, and the spirit of giving in its purest form. It is a present that creates memories, inspires gratitude, and celebrates the connections that make the holidays truly special.

We all know how brutal Nebraska winters can be, especially with icy conditions, blizzards, winter storms, the list goes on. With that said, making sure you are safe while operating a vehicle this winter should be a top priority. Collisions become more frequent, and vehicle breakdowns as well. So let these local businesses help you out to keep you safe and your vehicle up to par.
A1 Automotive is here with expert advice to help you get your car ready for the winter season. We all know how tough Nebraska winters can be on your vehicle. But there are several things you can do to prevent complications during the bitter season. At the top of your list for ensuring your vehicle is ready for winter should be your battery and electrical system.

Cold weather can take a toll on your car, so winter prep is essential. Start by checking your battery; cold temps strain it, so clean any corrosion and test the voltage. Replace it if it’s old. Check your tires using the penny test: if you can see Lincoln’s head, it’s time for new ones. Keep your tire pressure up, as cold air can lower it. Ensure your cooling system has enough antifreeze to prevent freezing.
When driving, slow down, keep extra distance, and brake gently on icy roads. Steer into skids, not against them, and watch for black ice.
Always carry a winter car kit with a shovel, ice scraper, blankets, warm clothes, and emergency food and water.
Don’t forget: check washer fluid (use winter-grade), wipers, and tire pressure often. Keep fuel above half and your car’s undercarriage clean from salt. Safe, steady driving helps you avoid winter breakdowns.
Vivian Clough says preparation is everything when it comes to the winter season. Making sure you are safe this season is a priority. Vivian Clough Agency is here to make sure you have everything you need before the first snowfall. Schedule your oil change early and ensure your tires have proper tread and air pressure. Plan, slow down, and give yourself extra time when driving in wintry conditions. But, most importantly, keep your AAA membership current so you’re never stranded without support.

Winter is when AAA really shines. Members can request roadside assistance 24/7 for jump starts, tows, lockouts, or flat tires. You also get discounts on travel, hotels, and car care, and access to trip planning services if you’re heading out of town.

Always carry an emergency kit including:
• Blanket or sleeping bag
• Flashlight and extra batteries
• Jumper cables or a portable jump starter
• Ice scraper and small shovel
• Sand, cat litter, or traction mats
• Nonperishable snacks and bottled water
• Phone charger and first-aid kit
And don’t forget your AAA card!
Review your insurance and membership before winter starts. A quick call or visit to the office ensures you have the right protection, know how to access AAA roadside help, and are fully prepared for Nebraska’s unpredictable weather. Being proactive now means staying safe and stress-free later.
Automotive Solutions states that during the winter months, the most common car issues include dead batteries, low tire pressure, inadequate tire treads for cold and snow conditions, heater malfunctions, and windshield wiper problems. So, keeping all of these in mind, let Automotive Solutions help you prepare for the icy season.

Before the colder, unforgiving Nebraska winter begins, you should start by prepping your car with essential maintenance to have your car up to par. Essential maintenance includes checking and replacing batteries, brakes, and windshield wipers.
Remember that it is crucial to make sure the antifreeze/coolant is at
the proper level of mix for the temperature, replacing tires if worn or damaged. Check that all headlights, taillights, and hazard lights are working properly to ensure you can see and be seen. Additionally, make sure the heater and defroster are working, and top off fluids with winter-specific washer fluid.
Automotive Solutions also shared their expert tips on how to be safe while operating your vehicle in the winter:
1. SLOW DOWN
• Reduce your speed significantly. Speed limits are for dry roads.
• Increase your distance: Leave 8-10 seconds of space between your car and the one ahead in snow or icy conditions.
• Avoid using cruise control.
2. MOVE GENTLY
• Be smooth. Accelerate, brake, and steer as slowly and gently as possible. Quick movements cause skids.
• Brake Smart: Use a steady press with ABS; gently pump the brakes without it.
• Steer into a Skid: If you slide, ease off the gas/brake and steer the wheel toward the direction you want the car to go.
3. PREP YOUR CAR
• Clear It All: Scrape all windows, lights, and the roof completely.
• Check Your Tires: Ensure they have good tread and are properly inflated.
• Get Gas: Keep your tank at least half-full to prevent fuel line freeze and keep the heat running if you get stuck. For Diesels, make sure to get quality blended fuel at high-volume filling stations. Treat your diesel fuel if temperatures drop to single digits or lower.

Stay Home if possible when the weather is severe.
When winter rolls around, many vehicle owners do not feel the need to wash their vehicles because they get dirty so quickly due to the colder weather conditions. Salt, ice, slush, etc., can erode your vehicle’s paint, metal, and its undercarriage. So let Jetsplash take care of you this winter season with their premium car washes that can regularly remove contaminants before they can cause rust and or permanent damage to your vehicle. Maintaining a clean vehicle during the winter months is also vital for wintry conditions because washing your car helps visibility by keeping mirrors, lights, and cameras clean. So you may be wondering how salt can cause damage to your car. Jetsplash has you covered. “Salt is corrosive and attracts moisture, accelerating rust and corrosion on metal parts like brake lines and suspension components. Sand acts as an abrasive, dulling paint and wearing away protective coatings. Together, they can shorten the life of your car’s finish and underbody if left untreated,” said Kinsey Bauer, Jetsplash’s sales manager.

Jetsplash recommends their Underbody Wash, which they believe is critical for flushing away salt from the underside of your vehicle, where corrosion often starts. They also hand-dry every vehicle, even when the temperature drops!
Here are some tips that Jetsplash has for you:
1. Wash once a week in winter (easy to do with a monthly membership from JetSplash).
2. Use a protective coating like Jet Gloss (now fortified with nano graphene).
3. Dry your car after washing to prevent freezing (hand towel finish comes standard with every wash at JetSplash).
4. Vacuum mats and wipe interiors regularly to remove salt residue (vacs, air and mat cleaner come standard with every wash at JetSplash).
With that said, winter care for your vehicle has never been easier. Jetsplash is convenient for you. With 9 locations, even with slower traffic due to winter festivities and conditions, you can get in and out quickly with a sparkling car. Jetsplash also has a new location located off 27th and Vine.
During the winter months, Shelter Insurance says that the biggest spikes in claims are collision claims due to the road conditions, as well as comprehensive claims due to deer and animal hits.

Once it is time to bring out your winter coats, you should also be making sure your vehicle is ready for the months to come. You should be checking your tires, windshield wipers, defroster, etc. Beyond your car, you need to be prepared for anything to happen. Icy roads mean plenty of sliding and collisions. You do not want to be stranded in pajamas and flip-flops. So, making sure you are in proper clothing for the weather should be your priority before stepping into a vehicle.
However, to fully protect yourself from these occurrences, you must have the proper coverage. Shelter Insurance recommends both comprehensive and collision coverage. No matter how much you prepare, sometimes accidents still happen. If you depend on a single vehicle, make sure you have a rental reimbursement under your hat. This would allow you to rent a car while yours is getting fixed up! Cause life does not just stop, it keeps going no matter what happens. Do not let an accident get in the way of any winter festivities!

how to be prepared for this season:
“As with any accident, the more information you can provide, the better. If more than one person is involved, calling the police can be very helpful especially if the drivers have different opinions of what caused the accident, the police are not able to respond to certain accidents and in that case, I suggest taking pictures of the vehicles positions before moved, the license plates, insurance cards, and drivers licenses of all who is involved. If there are any 3rd party witnesses, you would want to get their names and contact information as well.
The best advice is to plan. Winter driving can be tedious, but it is not a time to try to be in a hurry. Give yourself plenty of time to make it to your destination because you never know what you may encounter. When it is bad out, only drive if necessary. If you have to drive in horrible conditions, be sure to have plenty of clothes and a fully charged cell phone.”
When snow and ice hit, body shops often see an increase in rear-end collisions, many of which are caused by drivers following too closely on slick roads. Another common issue is bumper damage. What starts as soft snow can quickly turn into solid chunks of ice, cracking or ripping bumpers as vehicles move through it.
Taking your time on winter roads is crucial. Plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and stay off your devices. Pay attention to how your car feels and responds, and make sure it’s serviced before the first storm hits. Tires, fluids, and other maintenance checks can make all the difference once snow and ice start to fly.
Even small collisions should be inspected. Modern vehicles are equipped with numerous sensors such as blind spots sensors, parking assistance sensors, and forward radar that can become misaligned even if they seem to function properly. If they’re not aimed correctly, they could fail when you need them most.
That’s where Midtown Body and Paint can help. Their experienced technicians work with all insurance companies and can assess damage, both big and small. They pre-order parts in advance to help repairs move quickly and provide accurate estimates before taking the car apart to ensure times and parts are correct

After any winter accident, check that all parts are secure, no fluids are leaking, and the car is safe to drive. Then, have the experts at Midtown Body and Paint evaluate your vehicle to make sure it’s ready to get back on the road safely. No matter what winter throws your way.
When temperatures drop and snow begins to fall, insurance companies see a familiar pattern of an increase in weather-related
claims. During the winter months, accidents caused by icy roads, snow, and reduced visibility become more frequent. Homeowners also experience more claims due to frozen pipes, ice dams, and roof damage from heavy snow. Collisions with wildlife, such as deer, tend to rise as visibility decreases and animals are more active. Before winter sets in, drivers should review their auto insurance policies to make sure they have the right protection. Comprehensive and collision coverage are especially important, covering damage from accidents, weather events, and animal collisions. Roadside assistance is also valuable, helping with dead batteries, breakdowns, or getting stuck in the snow. Checking liability limits and uninsured motorist coverage can ensure you’re ready for unexpected situations.
That’s where Ashley Freese with American Family Insurance can help. She works with drivers to review policies, explain coverage options, and make sure each customer is protected before winter weather hits. Ashley can help identify any gaps in your policy, assist with claims after an accident, and ensure your deductible and coverage limits fit your needs.

If you’re involved in a winter accident, prioritize safety. Move to a safe spot, check for injuries, document the scene, and exchange information. Notify law enforcement, then contact your insurance company with all the details.
Finally, prepare an emergency kit with blankets, snacks, a flashlight, and a phone charger. Keep your insurance information handy, and schedule a winter maintenance check for your tires, brakes, and battery. With the right preparation and the right insurance support, you can stay safe and protected all season long.
Cold weather puts extra stress on your windshield. Glass naturally contracts in low temperatures, and if you already have a chip or crack, that stress concentrates around the damaged area. Add freezing moisture and sudden temperature changes from defrosting, and even a small chip can quickly turn into a long crack.
SuperGlass Windshield Repair gives some advice and knowledge about protecting your glass in the winter. It is important to repair chips or cracks before temperatures drop. When water gets into a chip and freezes, it expands, making the damage worse. Winter temperature swings also accelerate crack growth. Early repairs help prevent cracks from spreading, saving you money and keeping your factory seal intact.

The safest way to remove ice and snow without damaging the glass is to use a soft-bristle snow brush for snow and a plastic scraper for ice. Never pour hot water on the glass. Start your car and let the defroster gradually warm the windshield before scraping.
Temperature changes can cause existing cracks to spread. Sudden shifts, such as blasting the defroster on high, cause glass to expand and contract rapidly, which can worsen cracks. To prevent this, warm the windshield slowly, get chips repaired before winter, and avoid slamming doors, as vibrations can make cracks worse.
During winter months, the most common glass-related issues include chips turning into long cracks overnight, moisture freezing inside chips, damage from improper ice removal, and new chips from road salt and gravel.
The top piece of advice for keeping windshields clear and safe is to repair chips early to avoid a costly replacement, since once a windshield is replaced, the original factory seal is gone for good.

Winter in Nebraska brings snow, ice and slippery roads. Even the most cautious driver can find themselves dealing with a fender-bender, a slide into a guardrail, or paint damage from road salt and debris. That’s when it pays to know a trusted repair partner.
Tracy Body & Paint in Lincoln is ready for just that. With their full collisionrepair and painting services, they handle the after-effects of aggressive winter driving: from frame and structural repairs to restoring flawless paint finishes that have been marred by saltcovered roads and scrape damage.

They make the repair process smooth: working with major insurance providers, offering accurate estimates, and communicating clearly. Whether the damage is cosmetic or structural, their team is equipped and experienced for the job.
For drivers prepping for winter or recovering from an incident, a few key steps make a difference:
• Ensure your tires are in good shape and your brakes respond cleanly.
• Remove built-up salt and slush from your vehicle’s undercarriage and body panels.
• If you’re in an accident or even just suspect paint or structural damage, take it seriously and get an inspection.
With a reliable repair partner like Tracy Body & Paint, Lincoln area drivers can face winter with greater peace of mind: knowing that if the unexpected happens, help is close by and professional.
Nebraska winters put cars to the test, and In Motion Auto Care sees the effects every year. The most common issues include dead

batteries, low tire pressure, vehicles that won’t start in the cold, and frozen door locks or washer fluid lines. Cold temperatures expose weak spots in a vehicle, especially if routine maintenance has been delayed. Preparing your car before the first snowfall can prevent headaches later. A winter check-up should include an oil and filter change, a full vehicle inspection, battery testing, and ensuring tire tread and air pressure are in good condition. Check wiper blades, fluids, particularly antifreeze and washer fluid, brakes, and confirm the heater and defroster are working properly.
Some drivers overlook small but important items, such as washer fluid and coolant. Summer washer fluid freezes quickly, and coolant not rated for low temperatures can seriously damage the engine. During winter, tires should be checked at least weekly, and wipers every couple of weeks. Batteries a few years old should be tested at least once during the season. Small inspections now can save bigger problems later.
On the road, safety is key. Slow down, leave extra space between cars, keep your lights, windows, and rearview camera clear, and carry an emergency kit with blankets, jumper cables, a flashlight, sand or kitty litter, snacks, and water. And when conditions are severe, sometimes the safest choice is to stay home until roads are cleared and treated. Winter driving in Nebraska can be tough, not just for you but for your vehicle. Weather specifically in Nebraska can change quickly, making consistent maintenance and awareness essential. But preparation makes all the difference. Being prepared not only improves safety… It also reduces stress, and saves time, so you can have confindence when unpredictable conditions hit.
As Nebraska drivers know all too well, conditions can shift quickly, clear pavement can turn icy within minutes, temperatures can drop sharply overnight, and rural stretches often demand extra caution. Schedule routine checks before the first major freeze or storm to stay ahead of common winter issues. Local professionals are ready to assist when unexpected weather hits, so you will not navigate winter alone.
Preparedness is more than a checklist; it’s a mindset. Taking the time to winterize your vehicle reduces the risk of unexpected repairs, long waits for roadside assistance, or accidents caused by poor visibility and slick roads. It also provides peace of mind, knowing that both you and your passengers are safer during every trip, whether it’s a quick drive across town or a long holiday visit with family.
From checking batteries, tires, and fluids to keeping a fully stocked emergency kit, businesses like A1 Automotive, Vivian Clough Agency, Automotive Solutions, and others have you covered. Taking steps now can prevent costly repairs, accidents, or delays later in the season. With the right maintenance, safe driving habits, and insurance in place, you can stay protected, avoid breakdowns, and enjoy a safer, stress-free winter on the road.

The holidays are a time for celebration, but they can also bring extra challenges for families caring for aging loved ones. Between cold weather, icy sidewalks and busy schedules, it’s easy for safety and well-being to take a backseat. Fortunately, Lincoln offers a wide variety of resources to help seniors and families enjoy the season while staying healthy and connected.
Being home for the holidays and around family you may not have seen in a while offers a valuable chance to truly notice how your loved ones are doing. Sometimes the changes are subtle: a lapse in memory, slower or unsteady movement, or shifts in mood or behavior. Other times they’re more obvious, like a home that’s harder for them to manage or routines that seem overwhelming. The holiday season can make these things more apparent, serving as an eye-opening reminder that they may benefit from extra support, whether that’s more frequent check-ins, in-home services or even beginning conversations about senior community options. Observing these changes early allows families to plan ahead and address needs before challenges escalate, helping loved ones maintain their independence and quality of life for longer.
It’s also important to remember that the holidays can be an especially lonely time for older adults who may not have visitors or nearby family. A simple phone call, a shared meal or stopping by a local nursing home or assisted living community can bring meaningful companionship. Even small acts like helping with holiday decorations, sharing stories from the past or inviting them to join family activities can create a sense of belonging. Small gestures of connection go a long way, sometimes offering comfort, sometimes sparking joy and often reminding someone that they’re not forgotten. By taking these moments to reach out, families can make the season brighter and more inclusive, fostering stronger bonds and creating lasting memories for everyone involved.
In-home care provider’s offer personalized support, helping with daily routines, meal preparation and companionship. For those in retirement or senior living communities, the holidays can be full of festive events, social activities and opportunities to stay engaged with friends and neighbors. Physical therapy and rehabilitation services are also essential, helping older adults maintain mobility, prevent falls and move confidently even in winter conditions. Accessibility services add another layer of safety. Simple adjustments like grab bars, ramps and stair lifts make homes more secure, while local pharmacies ensure medications are filled, provide health advice and support overall wellness. Together, these services give families peace of mind and help older adults maintain independence during a busy season.
The holidays are also about connection and joy, not just safety. Many Lincoln organizations focus on creating meaningful

experiences with holiday celebrations, community gatherings and seasonal traditions that help seniors stay included and reduce feelings of isolation. These efforts allow families to enjoy the season together, knowing their loved ones are cared for and engaged.
From practical support to social connection, Lincoln’s care providers, therapists, accessibility specialists and pharmacies all work to make the season safer and more enjoyable. With these resources in place, families can focus on what truly matters: sharing time, creating memories and celebrating the holidays with loved ones.
Here’s a look at a few local businesses making the holidays a little brighter for older adults and their families.

that bring everyone together and spread seasonal cheer. Residents enjoy baking and decorating sugar cookies, sipping hot cocoa, listening to music and reminiscing with traditional holiday songs. Visiting musicians and school chorus groups are always a favorite, filling the halls with festive sounds and smiles. Other activities such as decorating the tree and making ornaments help to reflect the Christmas holiday season. Sumner Place also offers a variety of religious services as the holiday season approaches, and residents and family members are encouraged to join.

Their maintenance team does a great job of putting up lights around the building even on the outside. If residents want, Sumner Place also has door signs and loves when families help decorate their rooms for the changing seasons.
Recognizing when a loved one may need skilled nursing care can be difficult. Healthcare professionals often use the term “failure to thrive” to describe situations where an individual may be struggling to care for themselves. Many families do everything they can to provide support, but caring for a loved one around the clock can be overwhelming, especially when balancing other responsibilities.
At Sumner Place, the holiday season is made special with a full calendar of events and thoughtful touches. The culinary staff and registered dietitian design seasonal menus featuring classic holiday foods like warm spiral ham, mashed potatoes and apple cider. The building is beautifully decorated to create a cozy, festive atmosphere that feels just like home.

As the temperatures continue to drop and Lincoln begins to prepare for snow and ice, it’s important to think about our loved ones who might be at risk of a fall. Winter conditions can make even simple tasks like stepping outside to check the mail more hazardous for older adults or anyone with mobility challenges. Prairie View Industries (PVI) manufactures durable mobility ramps that can help improve accessibility all year, but especially in the colder months. Their ramps feature a slip-resistant, grooved aluminum surface; the hightraction design helps reduce the chance of slipping, giving users confidence when entering and exiting their homes and other buildings.
Beyond preventing falls, these ramps help maintain freedom of movement and ease daily routines. Caregivers and family members also benefit, as ramps can reduce the physical strain of assisting loved ones up and down steps during icy or snowy conditions. PVI ramps are versatile, lightweight and easy to install, making them suitable for both permanent and temporary needs. Their modular design allows for customization to fit different entryways, porches or exterior stairs, ensuring accessibility no matter the home layout. By providing safe and reliable access, they allow seniors and individuals with mobility challenges to continue participating in social activities, running errands and staying engaged with the community.
Accessibility solutions like PVI ramps also help support independence, which can be critical for mental and emotional well-being. Maintaining the ability to move freely and safely reduces feelings of isolation, anxiety and frustration that often accompany mobility limitations, especially in harsh winter conditions. Whether used seasonally or year-round, accessible entry solutions like those from PVI play an essential role in keeping seniors safe, supported and empowered, helping families have peace of mind while navigating another Nebraska winter together.
Staying active and engaged is just as important as staying safe. Visiting Angel’s caregivers help clients stay physically active with gentle exercises, indoor walks and stretching routines suited to their abilities. They also focus on keeping spirits bright through meaningful conversation, games, music and participating in favorite hobbies. When the weather allows, a short, supervised outing can make all the difference.

Preventing slips and falls becomes a top priority especially for older adults as temperatures drop. The simplest way to stay safe is by keeping walkways clear of ice and snow, wearing non-slip footwear and using handrails or walking aids when needed. Inside the home, make sure entryways stay dry and clutter-free, and place non-skid mats near doors. Caregivers are trained to spot potential hazards and help keep pathways safe year-round.
Visiting Angel’s goal is to provide warmth, safety and companionship all season long, helping seniors live confidently and comfortably at home. Every senior deserves care that honors their individuality, and every family deserves a trusted partner. Whether memory changes are just beginning or dementia is advanced, Visiting Angels brings comfort, safety and compassion.

is defined as an unintentional descent to a lower surface, with or without injury. Any loss of balance is a warning sign that intervention is warranted, especially if serious injury did not occur. The limiting factor is that insurance only covers care once you’re impaired, but ignores uninjured high risk individuals. Annual balance assessments are a comprehensive examination using evidence-based tests to determine your fall risk and designate a plan of action to prevent injury altogether. Dr. Casey Bogenrief, owner of A Well Being conducts measures to address every organ system, physical ability, cognitive status, medication management, health care team collaboration, caregiver involvement, home safety and individual goals. Get screened, do the recommended interventions, and improve your stability before you get hurt. It’s better on your body, mind and pocket book to spend a little money/time preventing injury than a lot of money/time recovering from a fracture.
The best way to prevent slips and falls during the winter months is to know your risk factors and proactively work on strength, balance and proper medication administration all year long, closely followed by adequate preparation in terms of proper footwear and assistive devices, increasing travel time to accommodate for road conditions, and performing activities that coincide with your fitness level. Please warm up thoroughly before doing physical labor like snow plow/ shoveling or delegate that task to someone else.
Pain is actually defined as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or
described in terms of such damage. What this means is, pain can be affected by a multitude of factors including biological (injury, trauma, infection, illness, nerve damage), psychological (sleep, fear, anxiety, depression, coping skills), social (work, family, social network) and quality of life (mental health, social and family function, physical functioning and daily life activities). The most effective pain prevention and pain management strategies are proactive and comprehensive.
Pain is often a sign of weakness or inactivity, so the more consistent one can exercise, recover with adequate sleep, and nourish the body with nutrients to support physiologic function, the less stiffness, aches and pains will occur. If your daily activity is equivalent to your infrequent activity, your fitness level is appropriate. For example, if your daily activity is staying at home, eating, toileting and maybe taking a shower, it will be challenging to go to weekly coffee where your physical load might include stairs, getting in and out of the car and walking a few blocks. The solution is doing the stairs and walking a few blocks daily, so that weekly endeavor is “just the norm”.
Time outdoors should always be a priority, even if it is just sitting on the patio bundled in your winter gear. Our bodies are intended to quasi-hibernate during the winter so, don’t feel guilty about catching some extra Z’s. But during the shorter daylight hours, staying both physically and mentally active is pivotal. Swap your outdoor walk for a walking pad or treadmill and transition gardening from outdoor plants to indoor plants. Body-weight strengthening is a great option for home - consider yoga on a mat or chair. Take advantage of virtual learning and exercise platforms like YouTube, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNL, and A Well Being. If your weekly coffee date is ruined by snow, keep the connection via a phone call or video-chat. Get up every hour to prevent fatigue and lethargy. Replace screen time with cooking, crafting, petting your dog, reading,

doing puzzles or other mind-body engaging activities.
Physical therapy is traditionally indicated to remedy an injury once it has already occurred, encompassing examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Dr. Casey is uniquely qualified to not only treat stiffness, aches and pains through physical therapy, but to prevent them through a multidisciplinary approach of mind-bodyspirit via athletic training, health coaching and yoga too.

As it gets colder, many people overlook simple but important habits that support overall health, well-being and daily comfort. Winter brings unique challenges — from dry air to shorter daylight hours — and small adjustments can have a big impact. Hydration, for example, often becomes less of a priority because people simply don’t feel as thirsty in cold weather. However, indoor heating systems can dry out the air and contribute to dehydration just as quickly as

Drinking water regularly, incorporating broths or using electrolyte packets during illness or activity can help maintain proper hydration levels. Proper hydration also supports immune function, digestion and energy levels, which are especially important during the winter months when viruses circulate more easily.
Skin and lip care are also areas that tend to be forgotten. Cold temperatures and low humidity strip natural moisture from the skin, leading to dryness, cracking and irritation. Moisturizing daily can help lock in hydration. Using a humidifier in the home can add moisture back into the air, reducing skin irritation and helping prevent nosebleeds and throat dryness. Protecting skin from harsh winds with scarves or balms can also prevent discomfort that becomes more common as temperatures fall.
Maintaining physical activity is another key habit that often gets overlooked. Shorter daylight hours and colder temperatures make it easy to skip workouts, but continuing regular movement supports immunity, cardiovascular health and mental well-being. Activities like indoor walking, at-home workouts, stretching routines or community fitness classes can help maintain consistency throughout the season. Winter can also affect mood and motivation, making physical activity an important tool for managing stress and combating seasonal sluggishness.

In addition to wellness habits, winter is an important time to focus on home safety. Heating systems, fireplaces, and space heaters increase the risk of carbon monoxide buildup, so checking smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors is essential. Replacing batteries, testing alarms monthly and ensuring heating equipment is in good working order can help prevent dangerous situations before they occur. Many people also experience lower vitamin D levels during winter due to reduced sunlight exposure. Vitamin D plays an important role in bone health, immune function and mood regulation, so discussing supplements with a doctor may be beneficial. As always, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional before starting any new medications, supplements or over-the-counter products.
Proper medication disposal is another crucial but often overlooked aspect of winter wellness. Many people use more medications during cold and flu season, which means expired, unused or leftover prescriptions, can accumulate quickly. Improper disposal such as flushing medications down the toilet or throwing them in the trash can contaminate waterways, soil and wildlife habitats. These chemicals do not always break down fully and can remain in the environment for long periods of time. There are also safety risks within the home. Unused or expired medications can be accidentally ingested by children, pets or adults who mistake them for current prescriptions. Leftover controlled substances, like painkillers or sedatives, may also be misused, diverted, or stolen, contributing to larger issues of addiction and substance misuse. Using designated medication take-back programs is the safest and most responsible way to dispose of old medications. Nebraska LTC Pharmacy participates in the Nebraska Medication Disposal Program, allowing community members to safely drop off unwanted or expired medications at no cost. This service helps protect families, communities and the environment.

Finally, preparing your home for cold and flu season by assembling a well-stocked wellness kit can make a significant difference when illness strikes. Keeping items such as pain relievers, fever reducers, Shannon Schultz Hammerschmidt
decongestants, saline nasal spray, cough suppressants, expectorants, throat lozenges, honey, electrolyte packets, broths, tissues and hand sanitizer ensures you’re ready to manage symptoms quickly. A reliable thermometer is essential for monitoring fevers, and vitamins like vitamin C or zinc may provide added support for some people. Adding a humidifier can help moisten dry indoor air, soothe irritated throats and reduce nasal discomfort. By gathering these supplies in advance, families can avoid last-minute trips to the store and feel more prepared during the height of cold and flu season.
Together, these winter health practices, from maintaining hydration and skin care to safely disposing of medications and preparing a cold and flu kit, help support personal well-being, protect the environment and promote a safer, more comfortable season for everyone.

Senior Helpers sets itself apart from other in-home care providers through its client-centric approach and commitment to exceptional care. The company also does not require minimum weekly hours, allowing families to receive the exact level of support they need without unnecessary financial burden.
“Our mission is simple: to provide compassionate care and improve the quality of life for our clients, their families and our employees,” added Lacy Woolsey. “This holiday season, we are honored to help seniors celebrate safely, comfortably and joyfully at home.”
As communities gather to celebrate the season, Senior Helpers of Southeast Nebraska encourages families to consider the gift of comfort, independence and dignity for their loved ones—a gift that lasts well beyond the holidays.

Lincoln’s seniorfocused businesses and service providers play an important role in making that possible. Their efforts, whether centered on health, mobility, safety, connection or comfort, help ensure that no one is left out of the season’s joy simply because of age or changing abilities. From senior centers hosting festive events to home care providers ensuring residents can safely navigate the season, these organizations create opportunities for meaningful engagement.
What truly stands out across the community is the shared commitment to dignity and belonging. Seniors deserve to feel part of the excitement, traditions and warmth that define the holidays, and the right support system can bridge the gap between wanting to participate and being able to do so. These local organizations understand that every family’s situation is different, and they work to offer options that meet people where they are, whether that means in-home assistance, group activities, therapy services, accessibility solutions or technology that helps seniors stay connected to loved ones near and far.
In addition to practical support, these services also help families notice and respond to subtle changes in their loved ones, like slower movement, shifts in mood or difficulties managing daily routines that might otherwise go unrecognized until they become urgent. Even small gestures, like a friendly visit, shared meal, seasonal gathering or helping with decorations, can make a meaningful difference in maintaining connection and combating isolation. By combining these personalized supports with community engagement, older adults can enjoy the season fully while families gain peace of mind.
Ultimately, the holidays are a reminder that connection is one of the most meaningful gifts we can offer. When families have access to reliable care and helpful resources, they’re able to shift their focus back to what the season is truly about: togetherness, gratitude and shared memories. With the help of Lincoln’s dedicated senior-care community, older adults can celebrate with greater confidence, comfort and joy, while families can enter the season feeling supported, reassured, and ready to make memories that will last long after the holidays have passed. The collective efforts of caregivers, service providers and neighbors create a ripple effect that strengthens bonds across generations, ensuring that the spirit of the season reaches everyone, leaving no one overlooked, forgotten or left behind.
