ABOUT THE COVER

ActionCOACH : Building Businesses That Work for Life

The ActionCOACH Omaha team is here to change what it feels like to own and lead a business in this city. Omaha is full of hardworking entrepreneurs who care deeply about their people, their customers, and their communities. And far too many are overwhelmed, overextended, and stuck in the day-to-day grind. Our mission is to help them build what a business is truly meant to be: a commercial, profitable enterprise that works without you. When a business works without the owner, the owner gets their life back. Their family gets their presence back. Their team gains clarity, and their company gains the ability to grow, not just survive. That’s why we coach the way we do. We’re not here to hand over a checklist or give motivational pep talks. We’re here to install systems, structure, and strategy that actually free people. Or as the ActionCOACH Manifesto puts it: we don’t just drive profits; we drive purpose. We don’t just coach companies; we coach the human beings behind them. Because a business that works for you works for everyone around you too.

more confident decision-maker. This is bigger than business, it’s about building the conditions for a life well-lived. Our vision is to help Omaha become the best place in the Midwest to own and grow a business. One transformation at a time. One team at a time. One owner who finally sleeps through the night because the business no longer depends on them. We believe systems set people free. We believe every business owner deserves to love their life again. And we believe Omaha is full of leaders ready for that next level. We’re not just coaching. We’re building a movement—right here in our own backyard.

Through one-to-one, and group coaching, planning days, workshops, and our flagship ABoS operating system, our team helps owners step out of chaos and into clarity. When the business becomes scalable and predictable, the owner becomes a better leader, a more present spouse, and a

BUSINESS NEWS ALLO Business Simplifies the First Step to Managed IT and Cybersecurity

Cobalt Credit Union Donates $50,000 for annual Holiday Helping Hand Initiative

ALLO Business is helping local organizations take a clearer first step toward reliable IT support and stronger cybersecurity through an initial, in-person consultation with their dedicated Managed Service Provider (MSP) team.

Cobalt Credit Union is proud to announce a donation of $50,000 to be distributed among 25 nonprofit organizations as part of its annual Holiday Helping Hand initiative.

The first meeting is designed for business owners and leaders, not IT experts. Instead of starting with technical jargon, the conversation focuses on day-to-day operations, business goals, and the practical risks that can quietly build over time, such as downtime, lost data, or security gaps that go unnoticed. During that first one-hour discussion, ALLO helps identify if the organization currently has an IT partner, what protections are in place (such as a firewall), how data is backed up, and how systems are being monitored. For organizations without dedicated IT support, the goal is to clarify what’s working, what isn’t, and what may be exposed—without judgment and without pressure. For those with an existing provider, ALLO reviews service levels, security coverage, and pricing to help determine whether the business is receiving appropriate protection and value. Following the first meeting, the team offers ongoing local support and employee-focused resources, including cybersecurity training, Lunch & Learns, phishing simulations, community events, and baseline security assessments. MSP pricing is presented as all-in, with potential adjustments based on compliance needs such as HIPAA or PCI. To learn more, visit AlloBusiness.com or call 844.560.2556.

The selection process incorporated feedback from Cobalt employees, who nominated organizations based on personal connections and community impact. This year’s recipients primarily serve in social service fields with a strong focus on addressing the growing challenge of food insecurity in the communities Cobalt serves. Greg Fripp, Founder and CEO of Whispering Roots, shared: “We have been extremely busy, with demand for our services at an all-time high given everything that’s been taking place in the community. The timing of your email is wonderful!” Robin Larsen, President/CEO of Cobalt Credit Union, added: “In the spirit of giving, we are honored to extend a helping hand to our community, providing crucial support to those in need. These donations, along with numerous other community-oriented activities we engage in throughout the year, underscore Cobalt’s commitment to fostering a stronger, more compassionate community.” About Cobalt Credit Union: Cobalt is the area’s largest locally owned credit union and is motivated by member service rather than profit. For more than 75 years, Cobalt Credit Union has proudly served over 116,000 members through our 19 branch locations and a full range of digital and virtual banking channels. Community members and business professionals are invited to volunteer in the weeks leading up to the event as well as on the night of the celebration. Volunteers are needed to assist with securing and picking up auction items from local businesses, a role that supports the Chamber’s largest fundraiser while offering valuable opportunities to build relationships and connect with the local business community. Each role plays an important part in creating a smooth, welcoming, and engaging experience for attendees. The Grand Giveaway is one of the Chamber’s key annual events, bringing together hundreds of community members for an evening of networking, celebration, and support for Chamber programming. Volunteer participation directly contributes to the event’s impact and continued success. Those interested in volunteering or learning more are encouraged to contact the Sarpy Chamber at chamber@sarpychamber.org.

BUSINESS NEWS NeCPG Encourages Safe Sports Betting as College Bowl Season and Playoffs Begins

Revival Pharms to Host Educational Event: “Is Medicine Making You Sick?” on January 26

As the college football regular season has concluded, many college football teams will continue their season in postseason bowls or the national championship playoffs. These games are extremely popular for placing bets. Nebraska Council on Problem Gambling’s Executive Director urges people to practice responsible gambling behavior, and wants all Nebraskans to know that free and confidential problem gambling treatment is available.

Revival Pharms is partnering with the Star City Patriots to present “Is Medicine Making You Sick?”, an educational community event designed to explore how prescription medications, changing diagnostic standards, and routine screenings may influence personal health. The event will take place on Monday, Jan. 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the back room of Grata Bar & Lounge, located at 6891 A St., #108. Food and drink menus will be available.

“As the holiday season gets into full swing, so do the opportunities to place a variety of sports bets. It is of high importance to ensure all Nebraskans are aware of the consequences of problem gambling, resources for problem gambling treatment, and education on how to gamble responsibly,” states Mike Sciandra, NeCPG Executive Director. Safe gambling begins with setting clear limits on time, frequency, and money spent. Individuals should only use disposable income, avoid borrowing or relying on credit cards or loans, and never pawn or sell items. Understand the odds of each game and treating gambling strictly as entertainment. Developing accountability, such as telling someone when and where you plan to gamble, can also help maintain control. It is important to avoid gambling when emotionally vulnerable or under the influence of alcohol. If you or a loved one is struggling with their gambling behavior, please contact the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1(800) 522-4700 or the Nebraska Problem Gambling Helpline at 1 (833) BET-OVER (1 (833) 238-6837). Both phone numbers are free, confidential, and answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by trained professionals. For more information about Nebraska Council on Problem Gambling, please visit their website at necpg.org.

The evening will feature guest speaker Jeanne Greisen, Pharm.D., who will discuss research and insights related to medication safety, evolving lab value standards, and the role certain screenings may play in long-term health outcomes. Attendees will learn why prescription medications are now considered the third leading cause of death in the United States, why certain routine screenings may not always yield benefit, and how shifts in diagnostic criteria may impact patient care. Dr. Greisen will also review what current research truly says—and what patients should consider when making informed healthcare decisions. The event is open to the public and encourages individuals seeking clarity, education, and a deeper understanding of their health to attend. For more information on Revival Pharms and Jeanne Greisen, visit her Facebook page at facebook.com/Jeanne.greisen.2025.

We pride ourselves on being your local go-to spot where there’s always something fun happening. Stop in for a quick happy hour or stay for a satisfying meal with family and friends. Our chef specializes in delicious, homestyle, homemade meals designed to provide comfort and flavor. We believe in good, old-fashioned fun! We invite you to come experience the warmth and fun of Brownie’s. How did you get started in the business? - I had a long career as an engineer in Iowa, but I started to get burned out. Each shop has its own story, and I’m proud that people walk in and feel known, welcomed, and part of something. How did you get started in the business? - My first jobs were in coffee, and I loved the pace, the people, and the vibe. What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? - The day I realized that growing a business isn’t selling—it’s connecting. It’s relationship before transaction, service before spotlight and collaboration over competition. That mindset shift changed both my business and my purpose. What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? - Make a homecooked meal for the people I love. If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? - Real estate development. What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? - The Latino Economic Development Council—where I serve on the Board of Trustees. I believe deeply in equitable access, economic empowerment, and supporting Latino entrepreneurs with tools and community that create generational change. Omaha Police Officers Association Foundation Hosts Annual “Shop With a Cop” Event The Omaha Police Officers Association Foundation (OPOAF) proudly hosted its annual Shop With a Cop event on Wednesday, Dec. 10, an evening that has become a cherished tradition for both officers and local families. This year, 48 children from a local shelter were paired with uniformed Omaha police officers to shop for holiday toys, clothes and meaningful gifts. Thanks to generous donors and support from Target, each child was able to fill their cart with presents not only for themselves, but often for their parents and siblings, a gesture that reflects the true spirit of the season. After shopping, the children boarded a chartered bus and were treated to a special police motorcade escort, complete with a SWAT vehicle, leading them to the OPOA Hall. Upon arrival, they were greeted by Santa and Mrs. Claus, who made a magical entrance in a horse-drawn carriage. Inside, the hall was decorated in festive red and green with balloons, music, and holiday cheer. The evening concluded with a pizza dinner and cookies. OPOAF is able to host Shop With a Cop, along with other communityfocused initiatives, through the generosity of donors who believe in supporting Omaha families. Avenue Scholars Career Awareness Program Helps Young People Envision their Future When you were in high school, what did you imagine your future looking like? Was the picture clear or blurry? This fall, Avenue Scholars helped bring that mental image into focus for almost 300 Omaha high school students. From September through November, the program hosted almost 30 Career Awareness events at workplaces throughout the Omaha metro aimed at exposing participating Scholars to potential career opportunities. The events, held in partnership with 26 local businesses, involved onsite visits focused on teaching Scholars about different jobs available within a given industry, and about the education or certification needed to attain them. Many included hands-on, interactive workshops: At Hawkins Construction Company, for example, Scholars had the chance to operate a construction equipment simulator. The program was structured to provide Career Awareness experiences in each of Avenue Scholars’ six priority career pathways: healthcare, the skilled trades, transportation, information technology (IT), business and education. Partnering businesses included Children’s Nebraska, Millard Public Schools, Truck Center Companies, Security National Bank, the Nebraska Apartment Alliance, Cox Communications and others. Career Awareness is just one of many career-oriented programs Avenue Scholars provides participants throughout the year. In December, Avenue Scholars hosted three full days of days of Mock Interviews, in which Scholars from all 13 participating high schools engaged one-on-one in simulated job interviews with working professionals from across the city. In January, Avenue Scholars will hold an Internship Fair, which aims to place Scholars in open internships at businesses in their area of interest. Experts cite cold weather, holiday stress, overindulgence in food and alcohol, and ignoring warning signs as contributing factors. Recognizing symptoms early and seeking immediate care can save lives, especially in rural areas where emergency response may be delayed. The American Heart Association urges families to take preventive steps: • Know the signs of heart attack and stroke and call 9-1-1 immediately. • Celebrate in moderation by making healthy food swaps and limiting salt and alcohol. • Manage stress by carving out time for rest and self-care. • Stay active with at least 150 minutes of physical activity weekly, even during busy holidays. • Stick to medications and monitor blood pressure.

out new opportunities, the start of the year offers the ideal moment to reset, refocus and build a strong foundation for the months ahead. The start of a new year is the perfect time for businesses to pause, reflect, and plan. Without a clear plan, even the most successful companies risk drifting, reacting to problems instead of proactively shaping their future. Planning isn’t optional, it is essential for growth, stability and long-term success. The first step in effective planning is defining a clear vision. Your vision acts as a compass, guiding decisions and clarifying priorities. Without it, it’s easy to spend the year chasing tasks and putting out fires, rather than moving toward meaningful goals. Once the vision is defined, businesses must take an honest, data-driven look at the past year.

Numbers tell the truth without emotion and they show what worked, what didn’t and where opportunities exist. Evaluate revenue, profit margins, customer lifetime value, and key initiatives that drove results. Identify actions that should be repeated, updated, or abandoned. The goal is not to assign blame but to answer “what” and “how” to make next year stronger. With insight from the past, businesses can translate vision and lessons learned into an actionable plan. Annual goals should be broken into quarterly 90-day sprints, and each sprint into weekly actions. Every task should have a clear owner, measurable outcomes and a deadline. Long-term plans often fail because they are too vague or too ambitious. By focusing on concrete steps tied to the vision, businesses ensure that planning drives real results instead of gathering dust in a drawer. This is where guidance from ActionCOACH can make a real difference. ActionCOACH helps businesses clarify their vision, implement proven strategies and create structured action plans that lead to measurable growth. With their coaching, businesses gain the tools, framewor ks and accountability needed to turn planning into consistent, results-driven execution. Molly, Carter, Breann Execution is where planning becomes powerful. Regular accountability, structured coaching and consistent check-ins help teams stay on track, make real-time adjustments and maintain momentum. Tools like scorecards and KPIs provide visibility, allowing leaders to quickly spot challenges and course-correct. Involving the entire team in the planning process is critical because when employees understand the vision and their role in achieving it, ownership and accountability naturally follow. The opportunity for businesses in the new year is clear: plan intentionally, set bold yet realistic goals and commit to disciplined execution. A well-crafted plan rooted in vision and data doesn’t just sit on a shelf, it guides daily decisions, drives performance and positions the business for growth. As Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t—you’re right.” The same holds true for planning. The businesses that succeed in the year ahead will be the ones that dare to plan, act and execute with clarity and focus. As we step into the new year it is important that business owners prioritize planning so it becomes more than a routine task but becomes a strategic investment in stability, growth, and long-term resilience. Right now is the perfect time to ensure your business has all the tools for what lies ahead. Nichole Spady of ALLO Fiber has shared some insight on how to plan for 2026. when it comes to cyber security. “The companies that win this year will be the ones that treat technological risk like financial risk: measure it, reduce it, and put simple, repeatable protection in place before something breaks,” Spady said. For many smaller businesses a preventable incident can quickly derail growth plans. So maintaining a stable and secure technology foundation will protect consumer trust and employee productivity.

Running a business without a plan for the unexpected can be costly. Imagine a sudden system outage: revenue halts, payroll keeps running, and overhead doesn’t stop. Or a ransomware attack strikes; recovery, device replacement, legal notifications, and fines pile up before you even catch your breath. Even insurance providers are demanding proof of cybersecurity measures like multi-factor authentication, backups, and monitoring. Without preparation, these surprises can derail growth. Planning ahead is the key and that’s where ALLO comes in. By assessing your current security posture, creating a layered defense with firewalls, endpoint protection, MFA, and backup strategies, and training your team through Lunch & Learns and phishing simulations, ALLO helps businesses anticipate risks instead of reacting to them. With a plan in place, emergencies become fewer, costs become predictable, and your business gains a solid foundation to scale with confidence. In today’s digital world, the best time to protect your business is before a problem arises and planning is the first step. As businesses enter a new year, clarity around objectives is the first step in creating a strategic plan. Hamilton Business Technologies emphasizes that strategy should focus on what success looks like. Whether that is growth targets, operational efficiencies, improved customer experiences, or risk reduction. Once priorities are clear, companies should assess whether their current systems, data, and processes can Ryan Wineteer support these goals. Aligning business priorities with technology capabilities ensures the plan is strong from the outset, transforming technology from a cost center into a multiplier for growth. of their business, how secure and reliable their systems are, and whether current tools can help them scale efficiently without adding unnecessary roadblocks. AI business enablement should be a key focus in 2026, helping companies identify practical AI use cases that streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and drive measurable results. If you have the right IT service provider, and particularly one that offers vCIO services, they will work hand in hand with you to position your business for growth from a technology perspective and guide you in including technology considerations in your strategic planning. This approach allows leaders to make informed, intentional decisions that position their company for both growth and adaptability in the year ahead. Realistic and measurable goals are essential for progress. Hamilton Business Technologies encourages breaking larger objectives into measurable milestones such as reducing downtime, improving response times, increasing system adoption, or strengthening security controls. Tying goals to metrics allows leadership teams to track progress throughout the year instead of waiting for year-end reviews.

With proactive planning and the right technology partner, Nebraska businesses can enter 2026 equipped to grow, innovate, and achieve measurable success. As businesses look ahead to the new year, ensuring technology systems are ready to support growth and security demands is more critical than ever. Integrated MSP believes the foundation for success starts with a Strategic IT Roadmap. This roadmap aligns technology initiatives with business objectives, forecasting hardware renewals, cloud migrations, and emerging technology adoption to ensure scalability and cost predictability.

The most effective planning frameworks are simple, consistent, and well-communicated. Annual planning paired with quarterly reviews keeps businesses agile while maintaining focus. Technology tools like dashboards, reporting platforms, and secure collaboration systems make accountability and decision-making faster and more confident.

Alan Summers When planning annual IT priorities, Integrated MSP guides companies in strengthening defenses while aligning technology with business goals. Core priorities should include implementing multi-factor authentication, advanced email security, and security awareness training to combat phishing. With 91% of phishing attempts originating via email and over half of security breaches resulting from stolen credentials, Integrated MSP ensures businesses are equipped to protect sensitive data and maintain operational continuity.

Many Nebraska businesses miss opportunities by delaying technology assessments until problems arise. Early-year planning provides a chance to proactively evaluate systems, security, and processes before growth or change introduces risk. Hamilton Business Technologies helps companies seize these opportunities, supporting automation, data utilization, and team alignment. By ensuring teams understand goals, workflows, and tools, Hamilton Business Technologies enables employees to work efficiently, securely, and confidently from day one.

Evaluating whether current technology systems can support organizational goals starts with understanding the age and capability of existing infrastructure. Outdated hardware or software can slow growth and limit scalability. At Integrated MSP, they have IT meetings with all of their clients multiple times a year. For these meetings, they create and maintain customers’ 5-year IT budgets, and perform a Cybersecurity risk assessment yearly. Ensuring businesses are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of 2026. Long-term IT strategy plays a critical role in broader business planning, particularly for small and mid-sized companies. With technology advancing rapidly, partnering with a managed service provider that understands your business is essential. Integrated MSP meets with every client at least three times a year to review IT initiatives, update technology plans, and ensure alignment with evolving business goals. This proactive approach allows companies to stay agile, secure, and positioned for growth. Looking ahead, digital transformation trends like AI integration and automation are reshaping business operations. Integrated MSP helps companies ask the right question: “What am I trying to achieve?” From there, we guide clients in implementing technology solutions that lead with security, followed by efficiency and growth. By maintaining visibility into IT structures and planning for predictable challenges like hardware lifecycle, software updates, and cybersecurity risks, Integrated MSP ensures businesses are informed, protected, and ready for whatever the year ahead brings. Let Integrated MSP put the pieces together for your business. Now that you have heard from ALLO Fiber, Action Coach, Integrated MSP and Hamilton Business you can look ahead with confidence. Planning today will give your business stability. Planning is an investment that reaches beyond the company walls. It isn’t about predicting everything; it’s about preparing for anything. As you move into the new year, taking the time to put structure behind your goals will help ensure consistent progress and longterm resilience. Small, steady steps in your planning can lead to meaningful results, and committing to a thoughtful strategy now positions your organization for growth, clarity and momentum throughout the year.

Supporting Nonprofits Community involvement is a core value at Strictly Business. We believe in supporting our neighbors and giving back whenever possible, and partnering with nonprofits allows us to help strengthen the heart of our community. Nonprofit organizations address the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors and work tirelessly to support causes that matter to many of us. Many people don’t realize the impact they can have with items already in their homes. Things you no longer use—blankets, towels, children’s toys, books, puzzles, office supplies, unopened toiletries, or cleaning products—can become meaningful donations. Check with local nonprofits about what they need most; you may be surprised by how many of those items are sitting unused in your home. And if you truly have nothing left to give (look harder!), your time can make just as big of a difference. Volunteer opportunities range from helping at food pantries and shelters to mentoring youth, assisting animal rescues, supporting community cleanups, or lending office and event help behind the scenes. Giving back matters—but meaningful advocacy begins with awareness. That’s the purpose of our Supporting Nonprofits segment. Strictly Business is proud to offer nonprofits accessible visibility and media support, which has led to countless collaborations between businesses and local organizations. Featuring your nonprofit in these pages connects your mission with readers who actively plan their charitable giving, volunteer involvement, and community engagement throughout the year. Read on to learn more about the incredible nonprofits featured in this issue and the impact they’re making right here in our community. For over 18 years, Autism Action Partnership (AAP) has been dedicated to bridging critical gaps for the autism community through innovative programs and services. At AAP, we focus on fostering Support, Inclusion and Prosperity for autistic individuals and their families. When our journey began in 2008, autism impacted 1 in 88 children. Today, that number has more than doubled to 1 in 31 (CDC, 2025). The CDC also estimates that over 7 million autistic adults live in the U.S.—representing 2.2% of the population. These numbers drive our commitment to helping the autism community thrive. AAP offers a wide range of impactful programs, including afterschool groups for autistic adolescents, workforce development opportunities, life skills workshops, family-friendly events and first responder training. Through COMPASS, our training and consultation initiative serving local businesses and organizations, we’re leading the way to create a more inclusive Omaha. Founded in 1989 by Dennis and Carol Wheeler of Auburn, Nebraska, Midwest Animal Rescue was created to address the growing need for care of homeless and unwanted dogs. In the early 1990s, the organization became Hearts United for Animals (HUA), evolving into a nationally recognized leader in animal welfare. Since 1996, HUA has rescued more than 18,000 dogs from severe neglect, untreated medical conditions, and profound emotional trauma, highlighting the urgent need for reform in commercial breeding practices. HUA’s board, staff, and executive leadership remain steadfast in honoring the Wheelers’ vision while building a strong future for the non-profit organization. A cornerstone of HUA’s impact is its weekly Spay/Neuter Clinic, which has treated more than 25,000 animals and prevented an estimated 2.5 million births. Through donor and community support, HUA continues to reduce puppy mills through education, legislation, and enforcement, bringing a puppy-mill-free future closer to reality. Avenue Scholars connects Omaha youth to high-paying, high-demand careers that are vital to the city’s future. Our program focuses on young people who are interested in careers outside of the traditional four-year college pathway. We work primarily with students who, due to additional financial or academic challenges, could benefit from extra support during the important transition period from high school to career entry. Our students, who we proudly call our Scholars, begin the program during their junior year. While in school, they receive two years of classroom instruction from a dedicated Career Coach aimed at helping them select a stable, rewarding career path and develop the professional skills necessary to pursue it. After graduation, Scholars transition into our Career Services program where our Coaches work to help them secure a full-time job that pays a livable wage and offers benefits. We encourage Scholars to enter career fields that are in high demand in the Omaha area: healthcare, the skilled trades, transportation, information technology (IT), business and education. To connect about potential partnership opportunities, email Director of Communications Blake Ursch at bursch@avescholars.org or call (402) 991-5395. The Stephen Center, located in South Omaha, partners with individuals, families and the community to overcome homelessness, substance abuse and mental health concerns. Approximately 250 people call Stephen Center each day through three programs on a sober campus. The Pettigrew Emergency Shelter serves men, women and children experiencing homelessness. The HERO Program (Health, Empowerment, Responsibility and Opportunity) is a statelicensed use and mental health treatment program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). It provides substance use evaluations, inpatient services and intensive outpatient treatment.

Hero’s Encore is a Nebraska-based nonprofit ser ving veterans, first responders, and transitioning service members through a structured, musicbased leadership and performance program. Founded by Air Force veteran and executive director Taylor Ullom, the organization addresses identity loss, isolation, and disconnection that often follow service. Hero’s Encore operates a nine-month Peer-to-Performer program, guiding participants through guitar instruction, songwriting, and live performance. The program culminates in a public graduation event where participants perform original music and are recognized by the community they serve.

The third program is Stephen Center’s Permanent Supportive Housing program for those that meet income and disability qualifications. All Stephen Center clients have the support of case managers who assist them with the identification of barriers impeding self-sufficiency. Volunteers play a pivotal role in Stephen Center’s mission, impacting clients’ lives every day. For more information, visit stephencenter.org or follow them on Facebook under the username @stephencenteromaha.

The program is offered at no cost to participants and is supported through grants, sponsors, and community partnerships. In 2025, Hero’s Encore completed its first full cohort and expanded community engagement through workshops and performances across the region. The organization will graduate its inaugural cohort at the Hearts & Harmony Gala on Feb. 14 at the Holland Performing Arts Center and is preparing for program growth in 2026. Through hands-on workshops, peer-led initiatives, bracelet-making volunteer events and mental-wellness awareness campaigns, Hiya equips teens with the language and resources to navigate emotional wellness. The foundation also distributes Hiya Kits, small acts of hope filled with grounding tools and positive affirmations, to schools, youth centers and community programs. What began as a jewelry brand with heart has grown into a movement powered by young leaders who believe that kindness, creativity and conversation can save lives. Hiya is currently building its Youth Advisory Board and seeking community partners, mentors and supporters committed to uplifting teen mental health. Learn more at GoShopHiya.com.

Established in 2007, NeighborGood (formerly Tri-City Food Pantry) is a vital pillar of support for Sarpy County and Ralston. Their mission is to eliminate hunger by providing nutritious food, increased self-sufficiency, and hope. Beyond groceries, they provide essential items like pet food and hygiene products, ensuring a holistic approach to community care. Since 2021, NeighborGood has experienced a 128% surge in demand. To meet this need, they transitioned to a 9,100-square-foot facility in Papillion, featuring a “market-choice” shopping experience and expanded cold storage. Through unwavering compassion and strategic growth, NeighborGood remains dedicated to nourishing the community and fostering long-term stability for all neighbors. The nonprofits featured in this issue show the wide range of important work happening throughout Omaha. Each organization plays a unique role in addressing community needs, supporting local families, and stepping in where resources are limited. Together, they illustrate how essential the nonprofit sector is to the overall health, stability, and wellbeing of our community. Seeing these missions side by side highlights how much nonprofits contribute—often quietly—to everyday life. Their efforts help strengthen networks of support, improve access to services, and create opportunities that make long-term difference for the people they serve. Many of these organizations are deeply embedded in Omaha's neighborhoods, responding to needs as they arise and adapting their programs to meet changing circumstances. Whether providing food, shelter, education, health services, or advocacy, nonprofits are often the first to identify gaps and the last to step away from difficult work. Nonprofits also play a major role in shaping the culture and character of a city. They bring people together, create community events, support youth development and the local arts, and give residents meaningful ways to connect with one another. In many cases, nonprofits help drive collaboration between local businesses, schools, faith communities, and government agencies; progress is rarely achieved alone. The partnerships they build not only strengthen their own missions but enrich the entire community in ways that ripple far beyond their programs. Strictly Business aims to provide a space where nonprofits can share their work and increase community understanding of the issues they address. We want to remind individuals and businesses of an opportunity where they can do a lot of good for nonprofits. Individuals or businesses may sponsor a nonprofit to be in this feature, which gives them six months of press release coverage. This visibility helps organizations reach new supporters, highlight their achievements, and expand the impact of their mission. If you don’t see your favorite nonprofits—or the one you work with—reach out to paige@strictlybusinessomaha.com or office@ strictlybusinessomaha.com to find out how to sign them up or sponsor them. We will be running a limited follow-up Supporting Nonprofits feature for our February edition.
