DIGITAL MEDIA AND SOCIAL INFLUENCE

The Digital Media and Social Influence program equips students to become effective and compelling digital communicators and storytellers. Our graduates are technically prepared to design media campaigns and manage social media platforms, but also to be socially aware, responsible, and ethical in a way that creates an impactful presence online. As the world of media and digital communication continues to evolve at an unparalleled pace, you will have a firm grasp on how to use it to drive engagement, brand presence, and meaningful change.

YOU WILL LEARN TO:

• Create and manage digital content for social media, websites, and multimedia storytelling

• Design strategic campaigns that drive engagement, brand presence, and social impact

• Use data and AI tools to analyze audience behavior and measure media effectiveness

• Think critically about media’s influence on culture, politics, and social change

• Navigate ethical challenges in digital communication, including misinformation, AI, and privacy

Engage with your company’s key audiences by developing compelling social media campaigns and content to promote products or services and achieve business goals

PUBLIC SERVICE

Work with local, state or national government entities or other social service agencies and help manage relationships with public stakeholders

NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP

Advance the mission of a nonprofit organization by engaging with key audiences such as donors, volunteers, and clients

ADVOCACY

Work for a cause that is important to you and help drive policy change

CAREER READY: Courses such as Communication Career Exploration and Career Realization provide structured pathways for students to transition to meaningful employment.

CUSTOMIZABLE: Half of the course load is open and available to you to apply to a double major or graduate in three years if you choose.
