Throughout the school year, we raise money for different charities. We choose 3 charities each year and the children are involved in making the decisions. Children in Need is always a popular choice and has been on our fundraising calendar for a number of years. Thanks to your help we raised £362 in the Autumn term. The school council this year, along with the school councils from all Southport schools, have voted to raise money for Southport Foodbank. This fundraising event will take place on Friday 9 th February, the last day of this half term (more details further down in the newsletter). Raising money for local charities gives the children a sense of belonging in their community and the importance of helping support others. We talk about this in our assemblies and children enjoy sharing other charities they have raised money for with their families, helping us all learn about different charities and needs. Thank you for your continued support with this. Parents evening is coming up after half term, on Wednesday 13th March. We will send letters out about this over the coming weeks to allow you to book your time for the appointment. Have a good weekend, Mrs Payne.

ATTENDANCE CHAMPIONS
This half term, the value that Churchtown is developing is Friendship & Family. At the end of the half term, value champions will be nominated for each class.
The year groups with the best attendance this week are:
1st Place – Year 3 (97.3%) - awarded 2 points 2nd Place – Year 6 (96.42%) – awarded 1 point This week’s attendance champions are Year 6 Cedar for excellent punctuality!
BUDDY ASSEMBLY GROUPS Each week in the ‘Friday Praise Assembly’ we have been checking the totals of the Buddy assembly groups. Classes and children gain points for super behaviour.
