A message from the Headteacher:

We have had a wonderful week in school celebrating National Storytelling Week. The children thoroughly enjoyed our visit from author and illustrator Sean Perkins, whose storytelling sessions were truly inspiring. It was fantastic to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic, and the sessions really brought stories to life across the school.

A reminder that Parents’ Evening appointment slots are now available to book via Arbor. Thank you to those who have already secured a time; we look forward to welcoming you into school later this month.

As we head into the final week before half term, let’s continue the excellent learning and positive attitudes we have seen this week. On Thursday 12th February, our School Council will be hosting a Cake & Craft Sale after school to raise funds for Alice’s WonderDance, Bebe’s Hive and Elsie’s Story. This will be followed by our Love My Community Day on Friday 13th, where the whole school will come together to further support these charities and celebrate kindness and community spirit.

Love My CommunityMufti Day

Our school is part of the Southport Learning Partnership where we work together with other schools on joint projects. Love My Community is a special day in the school year where we join with other local schools to raise money for a charity chosen by the children of Southport.

This year the school council representatives from each school have chosen to support Alice's Wonderdance, Bebe's Hive and Elsie's Story.

These charities touch so many hearts in our community of Southport.

Alice’s Wonderdance supports young dancers by removing financial and social barriers, providing resources such as shoes, funding for classes, and community dance opportunities.

Bebe’s Hive is centred on healing, creativity, and connection for bereaved children and their families

Elsie’s Story supports children and families through memory-making experiences, care grants, and community-led kindness.

On Friday 13th February children across all of our Southport schools will be wearing their own clothes to school for our Love Our Community Day in exchange for a £1 donation which will be split equally across the 3 charities.

Local visit consent on Arbor

During the year there may be times when we would like to broaden the children’s environmental experiences related to topic work by organising local visits e.g The local park, local shops, library, places of worship and swimming baths etc.

Please log into the Arbor App, view your consents and click on the Local Visit button to provide consent for your child/children.

** I give permission for my child to leave the school premises, under supervision, in order to make occasional visits to the local environment

Thank you

Big School Birdwatch

We would like to invite you and your child to take part in the Big Schools Bird Watch on Thursday 12th February 2026.

We will meet outside the front of the Botanic Garden’s aviary at 3.40pm. The activity will last for approximately one hour. During this time, you and your child will be provided with a recording sheet and will observe and tally the number of each bird species visiting our local park. The results will then be submitted to the RSPB.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people take part, helping to build a valuable picture of how garden birds are doing across the UK. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to engage with nature and contribute to an important national project.

As you will be attending with your child, you will be responsible for them throughout the activity. Please ensure that you bring any medication your child may need. A first aid kit will be available during the event. Toilets are also available in the park (20p).

We hope you are able to join us and support your child in this exciting learning experience.

If you wish to take part, please can you complete the interest Google form. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeoCHeU1yigxA7_Tn_XctR7 XL94ka0rM8wJ e8wu-h9rZV6Jg/viewform?usp=publish-editor
