In South Florida’s luxury housing market, where every corner is designed with precision, one area is emerging as a new focal point for innovation: children’s rooms. These spaces are now being recognized as powerful tools for emotional balance, cognitive growth, well-rounded development, and family harmony – when designed with intentionality and expertise.
This shift is driven by Roman Mak, a professional visual artist, production designer, educator, member of the Set Decorators Society of America, and Founder and Lead Designer of Creative Kids Design. Mak uses his original methodology based on his expertise as both a visual artist and educator, integrating principles of art, psychology, and educational science. His background includes experience as a production designer for the world’s largest kids’ YouTube channel with more than 129 million subscribers worldwide, where he created environments capable of capturing attention and fostering curiosity for audiences across continents. Now that all is being applied to real spaces for children.
“On set, the environments had to engage children emotionally, spark imagination, and promote focus. I’ve refined those principles into a system that, when used in real homes, helps children thrive emotionally, socially, and creatively.”
This distinctive methodology has positioned Mak as a recognized innovator at the intersection of art, luxury interior design, and developmental science.
“A child’s room shouldn’t be just four walls. It should function as a stage for personal growth – a place where character forms, creativity flourishes, and childhood feels safe, warm, and full of possibility.”
His work drew attention at the Palm Beach Home Show 2025, where Creative Kids Design presented a multi-sensory luxury play installation that invited visitors to explore a carefully curated world of textures, colors, and interactive elements. It earned the event’s “Best Instagramable Booth 2025” award, highlighting both the aesthetic appeal and popularity with families and industry professionals.
Sarah Zohar dishes on creating healthy spaces for her clients
By Monica Dao
We caught up with Sarah Zohar, principal of Sarah Z Designs, a Miami-based boutique interior design and build firm. With over a decade of experience, the firm offers a comprehensive and personalized design process, managing every detail from architectural planning to final décor.
A leader in biophilic design, Sarah and her firm integrate natural elements with a focus on sustainability and wellness. This approach goes beyond traditional greenery, incorporating materials like wood, stone, and textures found in nature. By reimagining elements such as a fossilized tree trunk as a functional centerpiece, her designs ground spaces with a sense of timelessness.
The firm also utilizes fractal patterns—naturally occurring, repetitive designs in raw materials—known to positively impact mental health and well-being. Color is applied with purpose, evoking specific emotions to align with clients’ desired atmospheres. For instance, an ocean-view penthouse may feature sand tones and reflective surfaces, seamlessly connecting the interior to its natural surroundings.
Sarah’s priority is to create spaces that enhance daily living. With careful listening and a tailored approach, every project reflects the unique character and aspirations of its client.
For the firm, their designs transcend aesthetics—it’s about crafting environments that feel both personal and intentional, with a focus on clients’ health and sustainability.
“We understand that a home is sacred; it’s where your fondest memories will be made, and it should feel truly unique to you. Our priority is always to listen, deliver, and exceed expectations, creating designs that aren’t just beautiful, but that elevate everyday living.

In an increasingly fast-paced world, it’s easy to become lost in the movement. Studies show that time spent in nature positively impacts our mental health by reducing stress, uplifting your mood, and enhancing cognitive function. By spending time outdoors, our bodies naturally lower cortisol levels, boost endorphins and dopamine, and improve stress habits, all while surrounding us with nature’s inherent beauty.
So, why not bring nature indoors? Our homes serve as our safe place; our own environment we maintain to keep life in order. By bringing nature indoors, not only are we improving our own lives, but also enhancing the home’s beauty.
Renowned for its signature blend of timeless glamour and modern sophistication, The Breakers Palm Beach understands the impactful power of nature. As soon as you step into the lobby, you’re immediately greeted by a curated ensemble of floral artistry. These lush, sculptural, arrangements are breathtaking, but they’re also intentional. At The Breakers, florals are more than just aesthetic decor. Grounded in the concept that fresh flowers release endorphins that boost positivity and release stress, the resort incorporates fresh elements of plants or flowers in every guest room, as well as public spaces. This fulthought approach to interiors is a subtle, yet effective way to convey serenity and elegance that positively impacts guests.
“The beauty of floristry lies in its ability to bring the outdoors in, a sensory gift of sight and scent. Especially in winter, it helps interiors maintain a connection with nature, uplifting one’s emotional balance and wellness.” -Blooming Haus
Fresh arrangements in the home are a nod to nature that make a big difference. Each home can add a personal touch by thoughtfully considering color schemes, textures, and shapes. Every composition becomes an opportunity to reflect your unique style. For Kerrie Boys, co-founder of Glory and Rose, she enjoys “letting the botanticals move and breathe within the arrangement, leaving it a bit wild.”
At Hive Floral Studio, they believe flowers should do more than decorate, instead they become part of the conversation. Rather than using a traditional vase, they “let the Orange Cloni ranunculus and citrus spill naturally across the table, creating a sculptural centerpiece that feels alive and intentional.”
By leaning into the natural, slightly off-kilter shape of the ranunculus, they allowed the floral’s gentle curves to bring movement without overpowering the space. By centering the arrangement low and loose, it remains visually compelling while still allowing guests to engage with one another across the table.
Far from a one-size-fits-all bouquet, this arrangement is “site-specific and spirit-lifting, designed to enhance both the ambiance and the experience of being in the room.”
Think of it as an art piece for your home that your guests will ‘ooh’ and ‘ah’ over. But unlike traditional artwork, this one changes out every so often, reflecting your mood and taste for the week!
For emerging floral connoisseur, there are many different tips and tricks to extend your arrangements’ lifespan. Start with a clean vase, trim your stems to your desired length, and remove any foliage that is under the water level to avoid bacterial contamination. After your prep, you must water and feed your arrangement ; a great DIY recipe is 4 cups water, 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons white vinegar or lemon juice. And as tempting as it is, keep floral arrangements out of direct sunlight or heat sources, and try to keep them cool.
Lena Saturnini, Assistant Director of the Design Studio at The Breakers Palm Beach, shares some tips for crafting or buying luxury floral arrangements. She says to “look for the beauty in nature and allow it to inspire you. Dipping your toe in color theory will also provide a new perspective on hues and textures.” The Breakers’ design team thrives on creating arrangements with lots of dimension and movement, by utilizing greenery and letting flowers follow their natural shape.
“The combination colors, textures, dimension and movement unveil the magic of well-designed flower arrangements” -Lena Saturnini, Assistant Director of the Design Studio at The Breakers Palm Beach
For the overscheduled, let The Bouqs Co., an online floral shop with a monthly subscription service, do the heavy lifting, providing unique bouquets from eco-friendly farms. An elegant solution for those seeking to liven up their homes without the hassle.
Blooming Haus, an English luxury florist, notes that “more people ask for arrangements that last longer with a focus on locally grown flowers, especially varieties that reflect the changing seasons.”
For the gardening enthusiast (or at least those admiring their landscaper’s handiwork), Florida is home to many native plants that make beautiful arrangements. Florida’s wildflowers, like the golden Coreopsis, the fiery Salvia coccinea, and the bright yellow Helianthus debilis, offer more than beauty; they bring a sense of place and effortless sophistication to any outdoor or indoor space.
But floral arranging isn’t just about beauty. It’s about creating feeling and presence in a space. It’s a hobby that supports mental well-being, offering moments of calm through focus and care. As you trim stems, place blooms, and adjust to your preference, your mind naturally slows down, disconnecting you from the stress of the world. This process practices mindfulness, helping to reduce anxiety. Floral arranging also stimulates creativity and lifts your mood. Engaging the senses of sight, smell, and touch, flowers activate neurotransmitters linked to happiness. Every arrangement reflects your mood, style, and intention, so let your inner artist shine!
The Riverwalk Pointe
by Anita McLean
If you’ve ever wondered what life might feel like with fewer chores, more choices, and the kind of neighbors who remember your favorite Sinatra tune, Riverwalk Pointe offers a practical answer. This boutique 55+ apartment community in Jupiter, Florida blends location, thoughtful design, and curated activities to support a balanced, healthy life—without the maintenance headaches. There are countless wellness benefits to living here, from the morning walk by the water to the last note of live music set on a breezy evening. Yes, the pool is heated. No, you don’t have to clean it.
A home environment can either help or hinder your well-being. Research backs this up: people who maintain social connections, move their bodies regularly, and keep their minds engaged tend to feel better and stay healthier longer. A community that removes barriers—like long drives to classes, lack of convenient walking routes, or the constant call of home repair—makes those habits easier to maintain.
Riverwalk Pointe is designed around that idea. You’ll find practical conveniences that reduce daily friction, an activity lineup that caters to different interests and energy levels, and a location that puts beaches, dining, culture, and nature within easy reach. Think of it as “wellness by design,” not by lecture.
The location is referred to as “nature’s wellness center,” and comes with built-in wellness perks:
• Beaches within minutes make sunrise walks, shell hunting, or a dip in the ocean part of your weekly routine. The sand does wonders for balance training—no gym membership required.
• Harbourside Place brings dining, shopping, and occasional live performances to the waterfront, so “going out” doesn’t involve highways and hassle.
Nearby parks and walking paths encourage everyday movement. You can log a few thousand steps before lunch without realizing it—unless your watch insists on telling you.
A strong social life can reduce stress and improve cognitive health. Riverwalk Pointe’s calendar supports social connections in low-pressure ways, offering movies to share a classic, compare favorite lines, and settle the eternal question—Bogart or Redford? There are also games like Mah Jong, canasta, or poker nights where strategy and banter go hand in hand, live music and community gatherings and resident-led clubs which make it easy to try something new. Another great feature is that the resident enrichment program is personalized, which matters more than any shiny brochure. Activities shift in response to your interests. If the art class fills up, they add another. If the music nights get rave reviews, they return with a twist. Engagement works best when it’s resident-led and flexible—both are true here.
The fitness center is well-equipped for strength, cardio, and flexibility, plus classes that guide you through safe, effective workouts. They offer low-impact strength training to support joint health and bone density, balance and mobility sessions to help you move with confidence and gentle cardio options, from recumbent bikes to group classes that make time fly.
Prefer to exercise in fresh air? The resort-style heated pool is your yearround ally. Water workouts are easy on joints and great for heart health. Lap swimmers can set a steady rhythm; loungers can call it “hydro-based meditation.” Both count.
Mental stimulation matters as much as steps on your tracker. When your calendar mixes learning, creating, and a dash of nostalgia, it’s easier to keep a bright outlook. We were impressed by the curated programs that go beyond “something to do.” Their calendar regularly includes craft classes for beginners and seasoned hobbyists, guest talks and themed lectures from history to travel tips (and everything in between!) and uplifting music performances.
Wellness thrives when daily life runs smoothly. Riverwalk Pointe offers everyday ease to reduce stress. They lean into thoughtful details with elevator-accessible buildings (save your knees and your energy for the dance floor!), covered parking and low-maintenance living: No roof repairs, no lawn care, no “we should really repaint the trim this weekend” conversations.
The one, two and three bedroom floor plans were designed for comfort with modern kitchens, separate dining areas, private patios or balconies, and primary bedrooms with generous walk in closets.
Wellness isn’t only about yoga mats and step counts. It’s also the calm that comes from smart design. The community was built with a focus on accessibility and peace of mind with focus on active lifestyle and common-area seating and support mobility at every pace, welllit walkways and common spaces to encourage evening strolls and impromptu chats. The onsite team members help with logistics so residents can focus on living, not troubleshooting.
Riverwalk Pointe sits beside million-dollar homes, but the vibe isn’t “showy.” It’s more practical luxury—the kind one uses daily: a resortinspired pool, attractive and inviting common spaces that invite conversation, and apartments designed for easy living rather than constant upkeep.

Q. How did your journey as an artist begin?
I drew in class growing up but then had an illness for two years. During that time, I found comfort in drawing as a distraction from painful times. I then studied under the renowned Sean Keating of the National College of Art, and was the youngest ever exhibitor at the Royal Hibernian Academy.
Q. Can you share how your early training shaped your Impressionist inspired style?
My early training began at the College of Art in Dublin in 1959 and was greatly enriched by studying in Paris at the Grande Chaumière under Yves Brayer. This Parisian experience immersed me in a tradition that directly influenced my affinity for the Impressionists, particularly their use of light and color.
Q. What life experiences influenced your choice of subjects and color palette?
Ireland was not supportive in the early 60s, so I traveled extensively through Europe before settling in the U.S., which deeply influenced my artistic themes and palette. My love of light and vibrant color was shaped by time spent in the Bahamas and exposure to French Impressionism. These travels inspired my subject matter—scenes of life, people, and surroundings full of warmth and light.
Q. Many works show scenes from Florida beaches, Havana, and European towns—how did you capture the distinctive spirit of each location?
I captured the spirit of different locations by painting en plein air and focusing on people in their everyday environments. This direct, observational approach allowed me to portray the rhythm and emotion of each place with immediacy and authenticity.
Q. Are there recurring subjects, and why do they appear often in your paintings?
Yes, people and their surroundings are recurring subjects in my work. I’m drawn to everyday life, finding inspiration in ordinary moments that reflect broader cultural and emotional truths.
Q. For someone new to your work, which piece would you recommend they start with and why?
Tropical Orchid reveals my softer side. Worth Avenue 1925 stands out for its ability to transport viewers to another time. Or, Madonna and Child by the late Jack Barry who was a good friend of mine.
Q. What defines your painting technique? Do you work in plein air, use sketchbooks, or rely on photographic references?
I paint en plein air (outdoors), capturing scenes as they unfold naturally. This hands-on approach defines much of my technique. My medium has been oil for the past sixty odd years.
Q. How does your brushwork and color palette help evoke mood and place in your cityscapes, beaches, and everyday scenes?
I use a big palette. Unafraid of colors and depth, especially in my winter scenes, you can feel the depth of how blistering cold it is in my pieces. My use of pure color and love of light—both rooted in French Impressionist influence—help convey mood and place. These elements bring energy and atmosphere to my work, whether painting beaches, cities, or people.

There are many gorgeous backdrops from Palm Beach to Jupiter Island with even more beautiful areas in between to live, shop, dine, or stroll. True beauty lies not in the designer boutiques or the beautiful beaches, but in the area’s lush, elegant and exotic landscaping. Architecture and interior design are undeniably important. However, not giving the property’s landscape the same level of attention is a huge oversight. It’s like wearing a tuxedo with no shoes or serving champagne in a red solo cup. Great intentions, but poor presentation.
Landscaping is more than an accessory to architecture; it’s the first impression. A well-designed outdoor space should feel like a natural extension of the structure it surrounds. Dustin Mizell of Environment Design Group believes timeless design forms the foundation of landscapes that truly last. Matt Gaudet, principal of Ground Fx, draws inspiration from the home’s architectural style, allowing it to dictate the theme and materials. This approach ensures a cohesive, timeless design that enhances both the property’s aesthetic and its connection to the environment.
“While we appreciate a wide range of design styles and recognize the value each can bring, we’re naturally drawn to the classic character of Palm Beach—clean structure, thoughtful planting, and a sense of quiet refinement.” -Dustin Mizell, Environment Design Group
Fernando Wong, one of the most celebrated landscape designers today, reveals that the secret to increasing home value (and enjoyment) is investing in lush landscaping. Time and time again, Wong and his team have seen this happen. Recently, their team finished a house in the Palm Beach area that sold after a gut renovation. The client made $20 million in two years. Following another Fernando Wong makeover, another Florida residence became a part of a garden tour. A couple saw the garden and fell in love with the house. The owners sold the home for $45 million more than they paid for it. Wong shares, “These examples are not restricted to the ultra-luxury market. Real estate surveys show that landscape has become one of the most important features of a new home at almost every price point.”
What goes into a landscape design is just as vital as the materials of the structure itself, and few understand this better than Robert Bell of Bell Design, Inc. In a Wellington project, Bell embraced a client’s vision to craft a garden rooted almost entirely in Florida’s native plants. The result is a strikingly sustainable, low-maintenance design that blends ecological integrity with textured beauty, minimizing the need for chemical use near the home and supports local wildlife by creating a thriving habitat for native birds and insects.
One of the property’s standout features is the putting green, which doubles as a large butterfly garden. Enveloped by native sabal palms and shimmering silver palmetto, which are natural hosts for the palmetto skipper and monk butterflies, the putting green becomes a lush, layered sanctuary. Native ferns and grasses complete the tableau, blurring the line between cultivated garden and wild Florida landscape.
Sculptural artwork harmonizes with landscaping to tell a story, transforming a garden into a layered experience that begins at the first glance. Whether crafted from 24-carat gilded bronze or mirror-polished stainless steel, sculptural objects can become powerful focal points, encouraging visitors to pause, reflect, and connect with the environment.
Renowned for his award-winning sculptures, British artist David Harber brings the poetic dialogue between art and landscape to life.
Harber’s art pieces are designed to be a powerful focal point, designed to encourage visitors to pause, reflect, and connect with the surrounding environment. Whether a sculpture’s design demands attention or gently blends into the plants, its placement, materials, and narrative can transform a garden into something far more evocative: it becomes an extension of the garden’s spirit.

“Our family’s story will be told year after year as volunteers at Believe With Me keep tying the red silk bow on a burlap sack for my daughter to unwrap at Christmas. This kind of remembrance is such a gift to us. -Amy Dozier.
by Monica Dao
Marine Corporal Barton R. Humlhanz died August 26, 2004, of injuries suffered in hostile action in the Babil province of Iraq when he made the ultimate sacrifice at the age of 23. He earned a Purple Heart and a Good Conduct Medal, but left behind his mother, stepfather, and sister.
When Barton’s parents, Don and Michele Carey, of Oldsmar, Florida, reached out for help with home repairs, Lyette Reback and the Believe With Me team didn’t hesitate to respond. Through one of Believe With Me’s programs, The House That Love Built, Lyette gathered students from middle schools, high schools, and universities, along with the support of local businesses, and coordinated more than $30,000 in repairs and renovations to both the interior and exterior of the Carey’s home—a heartfelt thank-you to a family who has given so much.
From an early age, Lyette Reback, the daughter of a Marine Corps veteran, was filled with a deep sense of American pride and an enduring respect for those who serve. After graduating from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 1996, Lyette devoted herself to raising her family while serving on the boards of several nonprofits. Yet, her heart yearned to do more—something deeply personal to honor her father’s legacy and the sacrifices of countless others.
“We owe it to our Gold Star families to remember and honor the sacrifices they have made and to continue supporting them the best way we know how.” -Lyette Reback, founder of Believe With Me
Believe With Me, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to providing hope and support to America’s Gold Star families—those
who have lost an immediate family member in active military service. Whether through combat, training, service-connected illness, or other tragedies, these families bear the weight of sacrifice for our nation.
Through a variety of programs, Believe With Me ensures that these families are never forgotten. Among their most cherished initiatives is the Gold Star Christmas Project, which brings joy and comfort during the holiday season. Thousands of Santa sacks, brimming with carefully chosen gifts, are delivered to the children of fallen heroes. This act of kindness not only lightens the burden of the holidays but also serves as a poignant reminder that their loved ones’ sacrifices are honored yearround.
Amy Dozier, a Gold Star wife, reflects on the impact of this program: “I’ll never forget the first package my daughter received from Believe With Me at Christmas. She untied a red silk bow from a burlap sack to find a small American flag and a heartfelt note of hope. It was a reminder that Jon’s memory is never forgotten. Christmas has always been bittersweet for us but Believe With Me has turned it into a season of gratitude and remembrance.”
Beyond the holidays, Believe With Me offers a suite of programs designed to uplift and support Gold Star families:
• The House That Love Built: Assisting parents of fallen servicemembers with home purchasing, renovations, or assistance with foreclosure avoidance.
• Gold Star Mother’s Day: A heartfelt celebration honoring mothers who have lost children in service, affirming their sacrifices are never forgotten.
• The American Sweetheart Program: Sending Valentine’s Day gifts to widows of fallen soldiers, reminding them they are cherished and remembered.
To date, Believe With Me has served over 11,000 Gold Star children, delivering more than 50,000 Christmas presents and logging 35,000 volunteer hours. With over $2.5 million in support provided, the organization continues to be a beacon of hope for these families.
A Community of Gratitude
Believe With Me is proudly 100% patriot-funded, with local businesses and community partners playing a vital role in their mission. These partnerships not only honor the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes but also provide companies with meaningful opportunities to align their brands with a cause that resonates deeply with Americans.
Lyette’s vision includes a strong Student Ambassador program aimed at “Teaching the next generation to live a life worthy of the sacrifices made from our fallen service members and their families.” From students actively involved in fundraising projects to managing shopping for gold star children - a healthy sense of patriotism and service is imbued in every project for any young person involved. Students are a vibrant part of who we serve and serve alongside.
This winter, Believe With Me will host its core annual fundraising events:
• The Gold Star Gala Tampa on November 14th
• The Gold Star Gala Palm Beach on December 13th
These galas offer a chance to make a lasting impact on Gold Star families while honoring the sacrifices of their heroes.
From online donations and toy drives to corporate sponsorships, there are countless ways to support Believe With Me. Together, we can ensure that the legacy of our fallen heroes lives on in the hearts of a grateful nation.

In recent years, luxury design trends have evolved to incorporate homeowners’ preference for environmentally friendly designs, energy efficiency, and eco-friendly living practices. With this movement, homeowners and builders alike are proving that sustainability and luxury can go together to create beautiful, ecoconscious luxury homes.
Luxury homeowners are no longer only looking for aesthetics and indulgence. Properties that are aligned with their commitment to environmental responsibility and provide long-term benefits for their lifestyle are in demand. While this transition is partly due to a societal push, it is also strategic. Luxury buyers are uniquely positioned to embrace new trends, with the financial means to invest in the latest technologies, eco-conscious materials, and sustainable building practices. The homeowner that embraces environmental responsibility recognizes that it’s not just about protecting the planet, but that it’s also enhancing their own quality of life. Sustainability is no longer just a ‘feel good / do good’ choice; it’s a smart, future-focused choice.
Bartholemew + Partners, a Palm Beach architecture firm, practices architecture for the greater good, with sustainability at the core of their design philosophy. Their approach emphasizes the preservation of existing infrastructure and adaptive reuse, aiming to protect the land while minimizing environmental impact. Sustainable new construction is approached as an interconnected process, deeply rooted in the vernacular of a place—its climate, resources, and materiality.
With an increasing focus on sustainability, custom home builders are crafting more homes that feature environmentally conscious design choices without compromising luxury or beauty, and in many cases enhance the functionality of the home. This issue’s cover home, an ecofriendly new build in Ocean Ridge (pg.68) is built by Steve Petrucci with Bella Homes, who is committed to eco-friendly and sustainable building practices.
Watlee Construction in Hobe Sound is another leader in eco-conscious design and sustainable building practices. Their forward-thinking approach blends high-end craftsmanship with a commitment to
environmental responsibility by employing several key sustainable practices. Every home is equipped with advanced smart home technology that optimizes lighting, temperature, water usage, and security, saving energy without sacrificing comfort. Watlee prioritizes the use of recycled and low-VOC (volatile organic compound) materials, including reclaimed wood flooring, formaldehyde-free cabinetry and low-emission paints to reduce environmental impact and promote healthier living spaces. Clients also have the option to incorporate solar panels, battery storage, and net-zero configurations into their custom designs. Additionally, these builders ensure efficient envelope construction by meticulously sealing and insulating each home to reduce HVAC loads and significantly lower energy bills. Pear Design Build begins every high-end remodel with energy calculations to design the most efficient way to keep the home cool in Florida’s climate. Their go-to combination is spray foam insulation in the attic for a seamless, thermal barrier, paired with low-E impact windows.
Homeowners considering a renovation or update have more opportunities than ever to integrate sustainability into their homes. Often, this starts with selecting materials that have minimal environmental impact, such as bamboo, reclaimed wood, locally sourced stone, and low to zero-VOC paints. These choices not only reduce the home’s ecological footprint but also contribute to a healthier living environment by improving indoor air quality and limiting exposure to toxic chemicals.
Zero-VOC paints help create healthier interiors by improving air quality and eliminating the toxic fumes that can cause headaches, dizziness, or respiratory irritation, making them a superior choice for all. They’re also kinder to the planet, reducing air pollution and supporting sustainable living, all while offering easy water-based cleanup and a much lighter scent than traditional paints. Jamie Roddy with Eden LA Interiors shares that her clients love having the option to choose low- or zeroVOC paints for their homes, and she is especially fond of Ecos Paints. They can match any shade from favorite go-to brands, but in a formula
that’s completely free of harmful volatile organic compounds.
Unlike many engineered materials, stainless-steel and copper can be recycled repeatedly without losing any of its quality, making them excellent sustainable and environmentally conscious choices. Their use in hot tubs and spas is not only a smart choice, but a stylish one as well. Diamond Pools and Spas’ “The Monarch” spa, is crafted from recycled metal with 65% - 80% recycled content, and the copper version (shown) uses 95% to 99% recycled material.
With a strong commitment to sustainability, Diamond Pools and Spas advocates for chlorinefree water sanitation, minimizing toxic discharge into local waste systems. They recommend a twopart sanitation method: ultraviolet sterilization and hydrogen peroxide oxidation. The hydrogen peroxide naturally breaks down into the water and oxygen after use, making sure no harmful ingredients seep into our environment.
Sustainability isn’t just about building materials and systems; its also gaining traction in décor and everyday home products.
Jamie Roddy with EdenLA Interiors embraces sustainability through thoughtful choices that merge aesthetics with longevity. By steering clear of “fast furniture” or trendy pieces of dubious quality, she prioritizes well-crafted, timeless pieces that reduce waste and stand the test of time.
“We think about the future use of furniture pieces too, as family dynamics and needs are always changing. This ensures interiors can evolve, extending their lifespan and minimizing environmental impact. We also love to integrate biophilic design: using plants and natural textures to create spaces that nurture both people and the planet. -Jamie Roddy, EdenLA Interiors
NAPA Home and Garden exemplifies this shift with items like their Bistro Vase, crafted from recycled glass, an eco-friendly material that uses less energy to produce and helps reduce landfill waste, all while offering timeless visual appeal. Another standout piece is their ABACA Teardrop Vase, woven from abaca, a strong and renewable natural leaf fiber. Reinforced with an iron frame for lasting shape and structure, this handcrafted basket is both stylish and sustainable.
Homebuyers don’t have to compromise on aesthetics either. Pom Pom at Home creates sustainable bedding by using 100% natural linen as their primary fiber, which is more sustainable, and is free of harmful substances and synthetics.
Today’s sustainable luxury homes are more than prestige. They reflect responsibility, forwardthinking, and modernity. Ecofriendly homes have a higher resale value, as buyers prioritize green homes and features.1 Adding sustainable features or building a sustainable home is a way for luxury buyers to “future-proof” their properties, ensuring that they remain relevant and desirable to the ever-changing world and market.
