The Style Issue

There is so much here in Lake Minnetonka to uplift our spirits, boost our productivity, and ignite our creativity. As individuals, we can embrace established styles, blend them together, or forge entirely new paths, becoming trendsetters ourselves. We hope this issue inspires you to forge new paths or perhaps explore familiar ones.

And today, I want to take a moment to celebrate and explore the fascinating world of style. Style is not limited to the clothes we wear or even the accessories we add; it encompasses much more. From the way we decorate our homes to the music we listen to, from the books we read to the way we carry ourselves in conversations, style permeates every facet of our existence. It is the thread that weaves together our lives and gives everyone else a glimpse of who we are.

In this issue, we explore the concept of style in all its dimensions. I want to thank all the people and businesses that shared their insight and expertise in all our feature stories for September. We chart a course to boat in style on the Lake. We lean on advice from a leading personal stylist to travel in style. A mother and daughter navigate the generational variety of fashion choices. The latest hairstyles show us that cuts can return to being as popular as ever. Tablescapes can reflect your personal style. And even our Columnist Jen Fortner admits that when it comes to fashion: Mother knows best.

When it comes to style, I’m lacking, so thankfully, my wife regularly comes to my rescue. The best style is an authentic expression of who you really are. And that’s something no one on earth can duplicate.

Here’s to being uniquely you!

THE LAKE

Cottage-Style Home.

WE EXPLORE THE LATEST ARCHITECTURAL STYLES OF LAKE MINNETONKA WITH AREA REAL ESTATE EXPERTS, CANDI & SCOTT STABECK OF COLDWELL BANKER REALTY.

From cottages to castles, the Lake Minnetonka area has some of the most unique and architecturally significant homes in the upper Midwest. And with a variety of architectural and design styles paired with a charming atmosphere, the area’s homes create the ultimate lake retreat just 20 minutes from downtown Minneapolis.

“The lifestyle you get living around Lake Minnetonka is something you can’t find anywhere else in the metro. It’s truly special,” says Realtors Candi and Scott Stabeck, who specialize in real estate sales on and around Lake Minnetonka.

As fifth-generation lake area residents with more than 50 years of combined experience selling and buying homes, Candi and Scott have a unique understanding of the architectural styles and design elements that make homes around Lake Minnetonka one-of-a-kind.

As far as recent architectural styles go, four stand out as being the most popular: Cottage/Coastal, Minnesota Modern, Transitional, and Modern Farmhouse.

Cottage/Coastal homes have become one of the more popular architectural styles because they offer a true lake cottage feel with a modern-day floor plan, amenities, and flair, Candi and Scott said.

They often feature sweeping roof lines, cedar shake exteriors, and beach-like qualities. Their simple design and charming exteriors are loved by many.

Minnesota Modern homes contradict the stark, white, contemporary look of homes from the 1990s. These newer homes have a warm, modern flair with slanted and flat roof lines. Their warm and natural-looking exteriors are inviting.

Transitional design is a well-balanced blend of styles, combining elements of traditional and modern looks into a cohesive and welcoming space. This has really become popular in recent years due to its flexibility, says Scott.

Modern-Style Home. Landmark Photography and Denali Custom Homes
“WE’VE REALLY SEEN A CHANGE IN THE LAST 20 YEARS AS FAR AS THE THOUGHTFULNESS THAT GOES INTO THE DESIGN OF A LAKE HOME.”

Last but not least, Modern Farmhouse homes feature an intriguing blend of classic and contemporary aesthetics. Their comfortable yet sophisticated looks feature neutral colors, smooth lines, and modern accents.

When you drive through the neighborhoods around Lake Minnetonka, these architectural styles are prominent, and for good reason. They offer an eclectic mix of classic architecture with modern flairs. A similar statement describes the interior design elements of these homes.

“We’ve really seen a change in the last 20 years as far as the thoughtfulness that goes into the design of a lake home,” Scott says.

Many of the current design elements you see in homes today are used to showcase the stunning setting/views that Lake Minnetonka provides year-round.

A few common elements include nine- to 10-foot-tall ceilings, open floor plans with luxury owner’s suites, wide plank white oak floors, high-end tile and bath fixture selections, well-thought-out light fixtures, indoor sports courts, and home theaters.

Fun paint colors and wallpaper are also starting to make their mark on today’s homes. Whether on walls or cabinets, homeowners are starting to see the value of adding some accent color back into their homes.

Outdoor spaces have become a major factor when building a lake home, and large glass windows or entire walls of glass can help bring the beauty of the lake into the home. Additionally, bifold-style doors in place of traditional patio doors have become very popular for creating seamless transitions from indoor to outdoor spaces.

Incorporating pools and outdoor hardscapes such as fire pits, patios, and outdoor kitchens are very popular these days as well. “In the recent past, utilizing outdoor spaces has become just as important as the inside to create outdoor living,” Scott notes.

As intriguing and beautiful as the architectural and design styles are, the atmosphere and amenities found around Lake Minnetonka are the cherry on top when it comes to choosing a place to settle down.

In addition to being the largest lake in the metro area with over 100 miles of shoreline, Lake Minnetonka also has several popular lakeside destinations for dining and entertainment. Local marinas and yacht clubs also provide great service for boaters of all types.

The walking and biking trails near the lake are well-maintained, and the school districts are very desirable, providing a truly great environment to raise a family. “Every community on and around Lake Minnetonka has its own special charm,” says Candi and Scott.

While architectural and design styles will continue to evolve, the current homes around Lake Minnetonka offer a little something for everyone in a community fit for anyone.

My mother is something of a fashion icon. Everyone who knows her knows this. Even some people who don’t know her feel this way. If I ever lost her in a department store, it was because she was busy telling strangers in dressing

NO SHIRT. NO SHOES. STILL SERVICE.

rooms what suited them best. They ask, and she does not disappoint. She holds little back in her style opinions, and she is always right. Her eye is so legendary I had a childhood friend say she manifests my mother when choosing accessories and follows her rule, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take at least one thing off.” I had to break it to her that the advice

Life Minded

and quote belongs to Coco Chanel and not to my mother. However, confusing the two is paying a high compliment to Coco Chanel.

My mother’s number one rule is to wear what fits. This seems like simple logic, yet I’ve noticed many don’t follow it. Including me. I have plenty of items I wear that are either aspirational (eventually will fit again), desperately need alterations (didn’t fit in the first place), or good but not great (spent good money on this and even though it looks weird I’m still wearing it). I’m no fashionista, just really stubborn.

She can, at a glance, make an assessment of what is good or bad about an outfit but, most importantly, what is appropriate for a person, a season, a venue. I did not inherit her gift. I’m better at preternaturally sensing all-butter croissants in close proximity in new locales. We have different strengths. I call her before I pack for trips, attend weddings, or have a special event. I often have no idea what to wear and what shoes are proper. She knows and it’s faster to have her tell me

than go on a treasure hunt in various stores looking for something I cannot name. She also is not influenced by trends. She says, “Just because it’s the style doesn’t mean it’s for you.” This is how I avoided both teased hair and the Forenza sweater craze of 1984. She saved me from some very unfortunate middle school photos.

My children, however, have fallen victim to trends. It’s a different time, and it can’t be helped. Between the dependence on phones and the rapid churn of what is in, it’s hard to fathom keeping current at their age, where they have a constant feed of new. All of them have a penchant for white shoes, which is unfortunate as they evidently walk through black dirt and sand daily. Our front entryway is filled with white leather platform tennis shoes. It looks like a nurse’s station if the nurses had all just done a mud run. And these shoes go from school dance to work to family birthday parties. In their world, dirty white shoes are appropriate for every occasion.

There used to be hard and fast rules around style things. Never wear white

to a wedding. Never wear navy and black together. Match your handbag to your shoes. All bets are off now, and my children are reaping the benefits of the no-rules fashion rules. Even at home.

It’s been a long, rainy, humid summer. Our meals are casual and random, but my sons have taken to wearing shorts to family meals. Only shorts. It’s been a shirtless summer. It feels very frat house but with better food. It makes me a little crazy. But I have larger battles to fight, and I guess halfnude meals just don’t qualify at the moment. I don’t think it means anything about their character showing up for a burger with no shirt. But I do hope they know that while the world is casual now, it’s not a free-for-all. Appearances still count. First impressions leave first impressions. Will they choose wisely for what to wear to an interview? A presentation? A date? I hope so, though their summer wardrobes left me with a bit of doubt.

They need to call Grandma. She will know the right call. And they listen to her.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

How the mother-daughter duo at Amore & Fede is bridging fashion between generations

Fashion trends come and go. And then they come back again. Sometimes, with a vengeance — certain trends might be better if they stay in the past as a bad memory. (Here’s looking at you low-rise jeans.) But one trend that will always remain is that your mom or dad will be your first stylist. Before you have a say in your style, you’re put in matching ensembles with your siblings or rocking a graphic tee of your dad’s favorite band.

As kids come into their own style, you’ll likely hear more than once, “What are you wearing?!” from both sides. Navigating this dynamic and bridging fashion between generations is nothing new to Debbie Slusar, owner of Amore & Fede boutique, and her daughter Brittany.

Debbie recalls, “Brittany usually wore what she wanted when she was old enough to put her own styles together. A lot of times when she was little, I would have her in mismatched items; we laugh about that now! She definitely has a great style today.”

CONTINUED >

“Go easy on your mom. Let her explore fashions and have a sense of her own style. Just because you do not like it, she may, so go with her enthusiasm towards a style.”

“I would say I developed a sense of style at a young age, and my mom always encouraged my style, whatever it was at the time,” shares Brittany. “My mom’s first piece of fashion advice was to not care what other people think and always wear what makes you happy and feels good!”

Advice both now pass along to their customers at the boutique. “I am constantly telling women to wear what makes them comfortable,” says Debbie. “We believe fashion is self-expression. Skinny jeans, straight jeans, wide-leg jeans, flare jeans. If you like how they feel and look, wear them!”

As far as current trends go, Brittany is a big fan of high-rise jeans or pants paired with a cropped top or sweater, which Debbie has now adopted as well. “My mom now wears some high-rise jeans and pants with an occasional cropped top—typically a little longer one,” says Brittany. “We disagree mostly on crop tops, but not always!”

“If we do disagree on anything, it will be me saying, ‘That’s enough crop tops,’” laughs Debbie. “Or, Brittany will say, ‘Mom, that’s enough patterns.’ We both love the blazers from Liverpool, especially the Boyfriend blazer. It has become a staple in our store and is a timeless classic piece for years to come.”

As both kids and parents explore their individual styles, Debbie advises, “Go easy on your mom. Let her explore fashions and have a sense of her own style. Just because you do not like it, she may, so go with her enthusiasm towards a style.” Brittany adds, “Be honest but still encouraging of each other’s fashion and sense of style.”

Having two generations bring in their own style at the boutique benefits all their customers, creating a special place where moms, daughters, and even grandmas can all come and shop together. “We don’t think that age should play a factor in certain styles you wear, as long as you feel and look good,” says Brittany. “Fashion should be fun and a means of expressing yourself.”

“We like to bring in styles that speak to us and what we believe our customers would wear,” says Debbie. “We want our boutique to feel like home, very comfortable, no pressure, and a whole lot of fun.” Certainly, the kind of environment you want when trying on a new style.

So remember, go easy on each other’s fashion choices and take Debbie’s advice to heart — wear what makes you feel good!

Dos Through the Decades

We look at the comeback of iconic cuts with the experts at Moda Salon

Well, “The Rachel” is back. The iconic cut of the 90s made famous by Jennifer Aniston’s character Rachel on Friends has returned in all its shaggy, layered glory. Ash Chapman, owner of Moda Salon, and Moda’s cutting director, Joe Eisenmenger, take us on a tour of dos, letting us know what hairstyles are back and what styles would be better kept in the past.

“I’m a 90s girl and living my best life right now with the 90s-inspired cuts coming back into style,” says Ash. “A couple years ago, the stick-straight, long look with one length and no layers was popular, but now, we’re seeing layered looks, fringy fronts, and tons of movement. It’s such a fun style to cut.”

And don’t worry, the guys aren’t left behind. “The Hanson Brothers look is coming back,” says Ash. “Guys are moving away from the crew cut and embracing the longer look. Many are also asking for perms and wanting a more styled cut.”

Joe adds, “Trends always come back in a cyclical way, and the 90s bombshell look is back with a modernized take. We’re moving away from the flat iron and embracing your more natural look and texture, creating a look that’s effortless, slightly more undone, and messy. People are stressed enough, so make your hair simple!”

Lower maintenance is back in style. Ash and Joe are seeing styles that allow you to simply clip your hair back with claw clips and the 90s French pins. “The sign of a really great haircut is when all you have to do is piece it into place — when the shape is so well cut you don’t have to do much, and everything falls just right,” says Ash.

So, if your hairstyle has been stuck in the 90s since, well, the 90s, you’re in luck that you’re trending again. However, if you want to modernize the cut or switch up your style, Joe recommends, “Take small steps to break

A CYCLI CAL WAY , ANDTHE 90S “TRENDS ALWAYS COMEBACK IN BOMBS H ELL LOOK IS BACK.”

out of your comfort zone. If you’re someone who has had long hair forever, start by giving it a little shape and then go from there. You can always make that chop.” Ash continues, “We know people have had bad experiences in salons, so making those small changes first can help with any apprehension. We always want to pair lifestyle with hairstyle. If you’re a yoga girl, we don’t want to give you bangs that will fall in your eyes every second.”

However, one style Ash and Joe think should be left in yesteryear is over-processed hair. “The blondies and the perms should stay in the past,” says Joe. “No matter what style you have, if your hair is healthy, it’s going to look good. If you’ve over-processed your hair, giving it a break to get healthier will give you much more freedom with styles.”

Also, long gone are the days when you get a great style done at the salon and then avoid washing your hair for a week because you know once you wash it, it won’t look like that again. “Back in the day, you pretty much needed a cosmetology license to replicate what you had done in the salon,” says Joe. “Nowadays, the customer has access to more userfriendly tools and is so much more knowledgeable with great resources on YouTube. You can learn great tips and tricks and discover what works best to style your hair.” “We also always take the time to teach our clients how to style their new cut,” Ash says.

Haircuts and styles are consistently being rebranded for the next generation. So, while the 90s are back, at the end of the day, Ash and Joe share their best advice. “The best hairstyle is the one that makes you feel amazing.”

Who doesn’t like a party? Ask around, and you’ll likely find very few people in the ‘no’ column on that survey. Elements that contribute to the perfect shindig where loved ones gather and memories are made include decorations, food, libations, entertainment… and, don’t forget, ambiance. What’s better than toasting Tom and Sue in a swanky hotel’s gala room as they celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary?

A re-creation of their wedding cake enjoyed on a beautiful climate-controlled cruise boat with luxurious seating and grand views. Gliding along on Lake Minnetonka on a Paradise Charter Cruise, you might just be tempted to shout, “I’m king of the world!” and you wouldn’t be wrong – because that’s how this hospitable crew makes you feel when you set sail with them.

Dave Lawrance, owner of Paradise Charter Cruises and Minneapolis Queen – a fleet of grand lake and riverboats that elevate private events and host tranquil public cruise tours – says that all of the heartfelt hospitality they pour into this “grand class service” (yep, you read that right, grand class service) is built around their customers’ needs.

“Paradise Charter Cruises and the Minneapolis Queen is a family-owned company built from the ground up. We have been in operation since 1985, providing grand class service on beautiful Lake Minnetonka and the majestic Mississippi River,” he shares. This is why when you work with their crew and step aboard the Paradise Destiny II, Paradise Princess II, Princess Grand, or Minneapolis Queen, you feel like you’ve been invited to a meal with the family, complete with divine cuisine and a welcoming host. This family dinner just happens to provide picturesque views and an elegant ambiance admired atop a gorgeous body of water.

Paradise Charter Cruises offers daily public cruise tours and private charters on a fleet of four different cruise boats with accommodations for groups of 10-125. If a relaxing narrated tour of one of Minnesota’s largest lakes and beyond is what you have in mind, their public cruise tours depart from the Port of Excelsior on Lake Minnetonka. Throughout a 90-minute sightseeing cruise, you’ll be entertained with engaging, informative narration along with onboard concessions available for purchase. If you’re interested in spending two hours exploring, you’ll be served a full meal, depending on the cruise type you choose, an evening dining or Sunday brunch cruise.

”Full bar service, climate-controlled salons, expansive window views, and spacious sundecks with or without sun canopies are available on all of our boats, along with our experienced Captains and Crew,” says Dave.

For private charters, they’re known to host anything from corporate events and birthday parties to neighborhood gatherings and weddings. Ask Dave about the time when the bride and groom were picked up by a float plane soon after they said their ‘I dos.’ Just another day at the office. While planning your special event with one of their experienced Cruise Coordinators, you’ll have a large full menu to choose from along with a list of custom cruise enhancements, including DJs, glassware packages, champagne toasts, music entertainers, magicians, and much, much more.

What makes Paradise Charter Cruises the true master of all ships is the unique experience they offer to each of their guests. “We maintain flexibility in everything that we do because we know that our clients want something different than a cookie-cutter experience.” And they believe that the best events are on the water. As you peruse the ways this one-of-a-kind service elevates any event or special outing with views, insightful commentary, and all the trimmings, it’s really hard to argue their point.

Ready to book your little piece of paradise? Simply visit them at TwinCitiesCruises.com or call their office directly at 952-474-8058. For public cruise tours, you can view the complete cruise calendar online and purchase tickets on their website.

FIVE SWANS IN DOWNTOWN WAYZATA HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO CREATE MAGICAL TABLESCAPES THAT WILL WOW YOUR GUESTS.

Perfectly Plated

ARTICLE BY SARA HOEMAN | PHOTOGRAPHY BY ANNA KOSTOCHKO
“We recommend having a nice assortment of basic dishware on hand. Then you can really jazz it up with different colors and patterns.” “

Although you wouldn’t know it now, Five Swans Boutique actually started out as a Scandinavian home store before becoming the beautiful, trendy home boutique it is now. “The store has been in business since 1966,” says Kim Zitzloff, store manager. “My husband’s family bought the current building and the store.” The store has evolved from Scandinavian-focused items to include tabletop, hostess gifts, entertainment prep, and even bridal registries. “This is really a one-stop shop for home décor needs and much more,” says Kim.

Even though the store doesn’t sell Scandinavian-only goods, its name harkens back to the five Scandinavian countries—infusing the old with the new. While Five Swans has been in a few different locations since its inception, their current home in downtown Wayzata allows them to serve a variety of customers and develop those lasting relationships. “Part of our appeal is that we focus on the customer experience and what we can create in person,” says head buyer, Jeni Wojhan. Given their exceptional dedication to customer service and the need to see the product textures and colors, they encourage customers to come in and shop as opposed to ordering online. “Coming to our store is an experience!” says Kim.

Five Swans is really known for creating dreamy tablescapes and helping customers create their own with new pieces and pieces they already own. Both Kim and Jeni have become experts at creating inspiration for their customers by helping them start with what they have

and then going from there based on the occasion and season. When creating tablescapes, they definitely have a process to follow. “We recommend having a nice assortment of basic dishware on hand,” says Kim. “Then you can really jazz it up with different colors and patterns. Use accessories such as different paper products, salad bowls, and linens to create texture.”

Mixing what you have with new things in the store is both economical and eco-friendly. “A lot of people will use the dishware they have and then purchase fun salad plates to put on top of their dishes to add some newness and freshness for the season,” says Jeni.

Even though every holiday, season, or occasion is fun to style, Jeni and Kim love creating holiday tablescapes, especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas. “It is just so fun, and there is a lot of product to pick from!” says Jeni. And above all, they want their customers to come away feeling inspired. “We hope our customers seek inspiration and freshness in adding to what they own,” says Kim. “We have a lot of customers on a first-name basis, and they always say, ‘There is nothing like this, there is no store like this.’”

If you are looking to freshen up your décor, purchase a gift, set up a registry, or even order faux floral arrangements (yes, they even do that!), visit Five Swans in downtown Wayzata and check it out for yourself!

HOW TO TRAVEL IN STYLE

Award-winning stylist and former model Jessica Hilde shares her best tips and tricks for staying comfortable, safe, and stylish while traveling.

PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMY

JEANCHAIYAPHUM @EYELOVEPHOTO

As the summer heat and sunshine slowly come to an end, it’s time to start planning your next holiday getaway, whether it be at a quiet coastal beach town or a scenic mountain top. Whichever choice you prefer, Jessica Hilde, owner of Jessica Hilde Style, an award-winning stylist, personal shopper, and wardrobe consultant, has laid out her expert advice on how to

travel in style to different destinations so you don’t stick out as a tourist and stay comfortable, safe, and, of course, stylish. Here’s what she has to say:

LAYER UP WITH A TRENCHCOAT, BLAZER, OR LEATHER JACKET

One of my must-have travel items is a trenchcoat— it will be such an iconic staple that you will literally wear forever. I’d also definitely recommend a leather jacket or an oversized blazer to go over a maxi dress. It can even be fabulous with beautiful black trousers and heels for an evening out.

BRING THE RIGHT UNDERPINNINGS

Layering beautiful T-shirts made with 100% cotton or linen depending on the time that you’re going to travel is the perfect way to elevate any look. My favorite pieces that are classic and iconic, mostly come from Lafayette 148. They make the most beautiful pants that money can buy. Another favorite piece of mine

is the Cotton Poplin Button-Down Shirt. It’s stretchy and incredibly comfortable. I recommend it to all my clients. You can wear it buttoned up, with a bathing suit, or tuck it in and wear it with pants or jeans.

OPT FOR A CROSSBODY BAG

A small bag to go across your chest is perfect for traveling and super convenient. And, of course, if you wanna splurge, you could do a Bottega Venetta backpack or a Chanel backpack. There’s nothing more chic than traveling with Chanel.

DITCH THE LULU

My best tip for everyone is to make sure that you do not wear Lululemon! Only Americans wear athletic wear in public when they’re not working out. Invest in a pair of pants: something that can go from getting off a plane to a museum. I also love a beautiful pair of pants that you can throw a heel or sneakers on with.

TRADE IN YOUR HEELS FOR A COMFORTABLE SNEAKER

We have seen this trend for the past couple of years. Women are ditching the heels altogether for a designer sneaker. They look great with a pantsuit or with a skirt.

JEAN JACKETS ARE TRES PASSÉ!

No one is doing that in Europe these days; they’re going for larger, oversized blazers over a maxi dress. So, definitely invest in a beautiful pair of jeans with a higher waistline. It adds a lot of comfort to your tummy and can be a fabulous look. You can add a lovely sweater, too. I highly recommend anything that’s cashmere, linen, or a blend of both.

Oversized blazers and reverse bomber jackets are great if the weather gets dreary or chilly. To top off your look, wear classic designer sunglasses—my personal favorite is by Prada.

TRY ON YOUR OUTFITS BEFORE PACKING UP

I have found that most people tend to overpack for every trip, but I tell clients to actually try on the outfits that they’re planning on wearing ahead of time and only bring two to three extra things, depending on what the weather will be like.

For more tips, tricks, and fashion expertise, contact Jessica Hilde at jessicahildestyle@gmail.com or visit her showroom at 746 Lake Street E, Wayzata, MN 55391. All outfits shown in this article are available online or at The Showroom by Jessica Hilde.

She was first discovered at the age of six in downtown Minneapolis, where she had her professional photo taken, launching her worldwide modeling career. For years, Jessica appeared in various ads and commercials, such as Kool-Aid and General Mills. Then, once she graduated high school, she began to travel all over the globe to continue her modeling career. “I lived in many places: Chicago, New York, Paris,

and all over Europe, but by far, my all-time favorite place to travel to is Greece,” says Jessica.

After spending years in the industry, appearing in numerous magazines, billboards, covers, and magazine editorials, Jessica decided to move back to the Wayzata area to raise a family. During this time, Jessica started her at-home styling business as a side hustle while raising her son. Soon after, her side hustle transformed into a thriving career: Jessica Hilde Style: award-winning stylist, personal shopper, and wardrobe consultant.

Your Boat Club:

We boating! are

These late-model, meticulously maintained fishing boats, ski boats, and pontoons have served our members well. Most of our boats have been in service for only three years and are regularly detailed and refurbished. It is simply time to replace them with brand-new models and find them a new home!

The average age of our fleet is 1.5 years old- meaning our members- and you- get to experience the newest boats in the market. Because our boats are in service, they are cared for better than the average boat.

Especially after the initial depreciation, boats tend to hold their value extremely well. If you are considering buying a boat, why not eliminate the risk of overpaying and save all of that expense?

When it comes to your family’s next great adventure, you can trust Your Boat Club. With decades of experience and an unmatched love for boating, you can rely on us. We are boating! Find out more at www.YourBoatClub.com/buy-a-boat today!
