COLLEGE BAGS

The College uniform fosters a sense of belonging for all students and creates a positive identity for King’s in our community. As ambassadors of King’s, our students are expected to wear their uniform with pride as they conduct themselves in a manner that aligns with the College’s Foundational Values.
The Uniform Guide assists students in how to model excellence by wearing their uniform correctly. Students are to be attired in their complete uniform while on school grounds, as well as when travelling to and from the College, and when wearing their uniform out of school hours in public settings.
FORMAL UNIFORMS
Students wear their formal uniform to school each day, except for designated sport uniform days.
Girls
• The Primary formal dress and High School skirt are to be at least knee length.
• The High School shirt is worn all year with a tie.
• College white socks or navy tights are to be worn with the formal uniform.
• H igh School girls may wear their formal blouse with either the formal skirt or navy long pants. Appropriate darkcoloured socks are to be worn with long pants.
Boys
• Formal shirts are to be neatly tucked in at all times.
• Prep - Year 12 boys may wear formal grey College shorts or long grey College trousers.
• K nee-high grey College socks are worn pulled-up. Prep and Year 1 boys wear short grey socks. Appropriate dark socks are to be worn with long trousers.
• H igh School boys wear a plain black leather belt, with a plain silver buckle, with both shorts and long trousers. Belts are available at the uniform shop but can be purchased elsewhere if they meet the description above.
• The College tie is to be worn by High School students from the start of Term 2 until the end of Term 3. Primary students do not wear a tie.
Shoes
Students are required to wear clean, plain black leather lace-up formal school shoes with black soles and regular heel height. There should be no buckles, skate shoes, mary janes, runners, casual or dance-style shoes or any other shoe accessory worn with the formal uniform. Velcro shoes are permitted for Prep and Year 1 students.
College Hat
The College hat can be worn with both the formal and sport uniforms. A hat is to be worn during recess, lunch and outdoor activities. All hats are embroidered with the student’s initial and surname, free of charge by the King’s uniform shop.
College Jumper and Softshell Jacket
Students may wear the jumper or softshell jacket at any time of the year with either their formal or sport uniform. Clothing items worn under the uniform for added warmth should not be visible. The Year 12 Senior Jersey may only be worn by current Year 12 students.
Blazers
College blazers are compulsory for Years 10-12 students at formal College functions, including special assemblies, presentation nights and other events when students are representing the College. When wearing the College blazer, male students wear formal grey College trousers, the College tie and appropriate socks.
SPORT UNIFORM FOR GIRLS AND BOYS
Students wear the College sport uniform on designated sport uniform days, for practical PE lessons and sport carnivals. Year level sport uniform days will be advised at the start of the school year. The College sport shirt and shorts are to be worn together and appropriately sized. The College sport uniform must be worn when representing King’s off campus.
Sport Shoes
Sport shoes should provide adequate support for the student’s feet, promoting overall health and wellbeing. This can significantly reduce the risk of injuries. Sport shoes are required to be a lace-up runner or cross trainer, with appropriate arch support and a non-marking sole. Basketball boots, canvas-style, casual streetwear, or skate shoes are not to be worn with the sport uniform. White College socks are worn with sport shoes.
Sport Cap
The King’s navy sport cap is optional and may only be worn with the sport uniform.
House Shirt
Ideally, the coloured house shirt is worn for all inter-house carnival days and other house events and fundraisers. High School students may change into their house shirt for PE lessons.
Sports Tracksuit
The tracksuit is optional and can only be worn with the sport uniform.
Swimwear
Girls wear a one-piece, modest cut swimsuit and may wear board shorts over the swimsuit. Boys wear speedo-style swimmers, swimskins or board shorts. Refer to the camp dress code for more information on swimwear for camps.
Representative Sport and Sport Excellence Uniforms
The Sport Department will advise which teams require specialised King’s sportswear such as netball dresses, rugby gear, competition kits, etc. These items are specific to the campus and are not to be worn on designated sport days or during PE lessons in place of the regular sport uniform.
