Lady Bulldogs win one, lose one

Lady Bulldogs guard Peyton Streetman had a nice game with 15 points, but Howe came up short against rival Van Alstyne on Tuesday night. The game was tied after the first period at 10, but Howe put together a great second quarter and went to the locker room leading 25-21.

Adding to Streetman's total was Emily Sanders and Callie Vick with eight each. Other scorers were Kamryn Fulenchek (5), Landry Rhoten (4), Ally Harvey (2), Kayla Anderson (2), and Jenna Honore
Other scorers were Rhoten (15), Harvey (11), Madisyn Hargrove (6), Fulenchek (5), Anderson (4), Honore (3), and Vick (2) and Bethany Masters (1).
On Friday night, the girls defeated the Lady Tigers of Gunter, 62-40. Streetman again led Howe with 16 points.
Howe and Gunter traded dominating performances in the first half with Gunter winning the The third quarter was similar to the first quarter, 17-9 while Howe won opening frame, but the Lady the second frame, 18-8. Howe Panthers took the frame, 8-7. The continued a great pace after half by game was decided in the fourth winning the third, 21-14. Bulldogs lose to VA, Gunter Howe lost in a big way to rival Van Alstyne on Tuesday night, 7025. Howe would have been shutout in the first quarter had it not been for Brent Masters' 3pointer. On Friday, Howe traveled to Gunter to take on the Tigers and were defeated, 80-47. The Tigers led, 25-10 after the first quarter and 40-21 at the half. Howe had their best quarter in the third and won the period, 20-19, but the Tigers finished out the game with a 21-6 fourth quarter for the large margin of victory.
