It is officially schooltime again in Howe, Texas! My Facebook feed was flooded this week with adorable “first day of school” pictures. Prayers go out for all students, staff, parents, and loved ones of our school children and for their school year! Thank you to all in the community who support and show love to the children in Howe. We have many new teachers and staff this year, many of whom we shared their short biographies on pages 5-14 of this edition of the newspaper. If we missed anyone and you notice it, please reach out, as we would like to recognize and introduce all new staff. Have a great week, Howe, Texas!

Newspaper Makes Changes to Local Sports Picture Availability and Location Ashley Husbands The Howe Enterprise changed hands in ownership as of November 2024. With ownership changes, decisions needed to be made and adjusted for how we would move forward in many aspects of the paper, and will continue as time passes. One of the things under consideration to change was to do what most other newspapers with professional photographers do these days– make money from sports photos. We were considering moving in this direction, which is why we kept the SmugMug website for almost the past year. However, after consideration and discussions between myself as the owner and our sports photographer, Michelle Carney a mutual agreement and under-
standing was reached of what we both felt was important. Both Michelle and I are passionate about sports and children. We both value the importance of kids and parents having access to pictures of kids’ sporting events. As we all know, time passes by fast
and high school sports are a treasured time in life for many people. We have both decided we want to provide that to the community free of charge to you all through The Howe Enterprise via our Facebook page. Michelle Carney owns a professional photog-
raphy business, Michelle Carney Photography, and offers photo opportunities outside of her work with us here at the newspaper. However, at the newspaper we have decided, at this time, to share all photos taken that we have rights to with Carney as an employee at the High
School Sports games, to be shared exclusively on our “The Howe Enteprise” Facebook page. To view photos, check our page following events, and photo albums will be available for games of various sports. We will not cover every game but many will be covered.
First High School Football Game Friday Ashley Husbands This week the Howe High School Bulldogs Football team will be playing their first game of the season! The games will be at home against Eustace. The Junior Varsity game begins at 5 p.m., followed by the Varsity game at 6 p.m. Lady Bulldog Volleyball has already begun their season, with their first game Tuesday of this week. Cross Country season begins this Saturday in Princeton at the Princeton Invitational Meet. Good luck this year to all of our athletes at Howe ISD! Go Bulldogs!
