ICON EV UNVEILS THE ICON X-SERIES AT PGA SHOW 2026, MARKING A BOLD REBIRTH THROUGH INNOVATION

Orlando, FL —Fresh off a high-impact PGA Show 2026, ICON EV has officially unveiled its most ambitious lineup yet, signaling a bold rebirth of the brand through innovation, design, and nextgeneration performance. The spotlight moment belonged to the all-new ICON X-Series, launched alongside expanded EPIC FX Series models, reinforcing ICON’s evolving vision for 2026 and beyond.

Making its official debut at the PGA Show in Orlando, the brand-new ICON X-Series arrived with three headline-making models — the ICON i20X, i40X, and i60LX — engineered to redefine expectations for electric lifestyle mobility. The debut was paired with two new EPIC FX Series models, the EPIC E20FX and EPIC E60FX, bringing the total number of all-new 2026 models revealed at the show to five.

“ICON and EPIC are intentionally positioned for different customers,” said Sean Heatley, COO of ICON EV. “The ICON X-Series offers dependable performance and exceptional value, while EPIC FX targets buyers looking for elevated fit, finish, and premium features at a competitive luxury price point. This clear continued...

latestindustrynews

separation allows our dealers to serve more customers with purpose-built products across both the value and premium segments.”

“This launch marks an exciting new chapter for ICON,” emphasized Roy Williams, ICON EV’s founder and CEO. “The ICON X-Series is the result of a full reinvestment in innovation, from design and engineering to the overall ownership experience. Together with the EPIC FX Series, it reflects our commitment to clearly defined product lines that offer meaningful choice across feature sets and expectations. It’s a rebirth of what ICON stands for, and a clear signal to our dealers and partners that we’re guiding the future of electric Low-Speed Vehicles with intention.”

BUILDING ON AWARD-WINNING RECOGNITION

The excitement surrounding the 2026 lineup builds directly on EPIC’s breakout success at the 2025 PGA Show, where the EPIC E40FX captured industry-wide attention. The model went on to earn “Best New Golf Cart/LSV for 2025,” announced live on the Golf Channel, solidifying EPIC’s reputation for innovation, performance, and standout design on the industry’s biggest stage.

That recognition set the stage for PGA Show 2026, where ICON EV and EPIC Carts returned with a presence designed to be seen — and driven — delivering hands-on experiences that underscored the evolution of both brands.

A PGA SHOW EXPERIENCE BUILT FOR IMPACT

The action began at Demo Day, where thousands of attendees

experienced hands-on rides aboard the new ICON X-Series and EPIC FX models. A dozen carts provided complimentary shuttle service throughout the day, ensuring the lineup was experienced in motion, not just on display. In total, more than 22 ICON and EPIC Low-Speed Vehicles were onsite throughout the entire PGA Show, giving attendees a close-up look at the innovation, performance, and customization defining the 2026 models.

Inside the Orange County Convention Center, ICON and EPIC made waves across three locations: the New Product Zone, ICON booth #3157, and SoundExtreme by EcoXGear booth #3451. One of the show’s standout attractions was “The Captain,” a fully customized EPIC E40FX build by Captain Spiffy, showcasing fearless customization and collaborative craftsmanship with partners including SoundExtreme by EcoXGear, Eco Battery, and MODZ.

FROM INDUSTRY DEBUT TO DEALER FLOORS

Along with their official PGA Show debut, the ICON X-Series and newest EPIC FX models began arriving at dealerships late January, setting the tone for a headline-making 2026 season. With bold new styling, elevated features, and customization at the forefront, the lineup reflects ICON EV’s renewed focus on innovation, collaboration, and dealer success.

As the industry turns the page on PGA Show 2026, one thing is unmistakable: ICON isn’t just evolving — it’s reintroducing itself, with purpose, power, and a lineup built to deliver real performance, real distinction, and real momentum in 2026.

This free, family-friendly event brings together car enthusiasts, custom golf cart builders, and the local community for a full day of impressive builds, entertainment, and prizes.

A SHOW FOR EVERY ENTHUSIAST

The event welcomes a diverse range of vehicles, from classic cars and muscle cars to trucks, imports, lowriders, and off-road builds. Custom golf carts will share the spotlight with their automotive counterparts, creating a unique showcase that celebrates customization across all vehicle types.

"We wanted to create an event that brings together different communities," says David Hernandez of Mission Golf Cars. "Whether you're into classic muscle cars or custom golf carts, there's a place for you here."

A judged show format will recognize excellence across multiple categories, with the coveted Best in Show award carrying a $1,000 cash prize. Additional first-place prizes will be awarded in various categories, ensuring recognition for different styles and build approaches.

MORE THAN JUST VEHICLES

Beyond the vehicle displays, attendees can enjoy live music or DJ entertainment, food vendors, and family-friendly activities throughout the day. Local vendors will showcase products and services, creating a festival atmosphere that extends beyond the show vehicles.

One of the event's major draws is a golf cart giveaway, generating significant interest from both automotive and golf cart communities. Registration is currently open for participants wanting to showcase their builds.

BUILDING COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Mission Golf Cars expects 800 to 1,200 attendees from Buda, Kyle, Austin, San Marcos, and surrounding Central Texas communities. The location at Buda City Park Pavilion provides ample space for displays and activities while remaining easily accessible to the region's growing population.

MEDIA PARTNERSHIP

GolfCarting Magazine and GolfCartingTV are serving as official media sponsors for the inaugural event. Both will provide on-site coverage during the show, with post-event video content and editorial coverage planned to showcase the builds and capture the atmosphere of this first-year event.

This partnership reflects the growing intersection between automotive culture and golf cart customization, where techniques, aesthetics, and passion cross over between vehicle types. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BUILDER TRANSFORMS GARAGE PROJECT INTO STUNNING MERCEDES-INSPIRED CUSTOM WITH AIR RIDE AND SHOW-QUALITY DETAILS

Living on a golf course presents unique opportunities for golf cart enthusiasts. For Marcus Navarro at Trilogy at Glen Ivy Golf Course in Southern California, it meant having a front-row seat to countless custom carts rolling past his home. When his wife asked for a "mail runner" to handle errands around the community, Marcus saw something more—a chance to build something special.

What started as a rough Mercedes-Benz Maybach body given to him by a neighbor became one of the most striking customs in his community, featuring a jaw-dropping candy apple raspberry metallic blue wrap, full air suspension, and meticulous attention to detail that reflects Marcus's background as a car guy.

FINDING THE FOUNDATION

The project began with a cart "in pretty bad shape" that a fellow Trilogy resident essentially gave to Marcus. The

Mercedes-Maybach body had potential, but getting there would require a complete teardown and rebuild.

"I took the cart all the way down to the frame," Marcus explains. As someone who enjoys hands-on work, Marcus tackled about 90% of the build himself, only farming out specialized tasks he couldn't handle in his garage.

The Mercedes-Maybach body style is rarely seen in the golf cart world, making this build stand out immediately. The distinctive grille, sculpted body lines, and luxury car proportions give the cart an upscale presence that turns heads throughout the community.

THE WRAP SOLUTION

One of the biggest challenges Marcus faced was finishing the body. Being a car enthusiast, he knew the importance of a quality paint job, but Southern California's painter shortage created an impossible situation.

"Trying to find a painter is absolutely ludicrous," Marcus notes. "You just can't find guys. And if you do, 'Oh yeah, I can do it,’ and it'll be done in a year and a half."

Rather than wait indefinitely or settle for subpar work, Marcus chose a different path: a full vehicle wrap. He sent the cart to "one of the best guys around" and selected something unique—a candy apple raspberry metallic blue that photographs as a deep, vibrant electric blue.

"We did something a little bit different, and it really surprisingly came out really, really nice," Marcus says, understating what became the build's most striking feature.

The wrap gives the Mercedes body a high-end, showquality finish that complements the luxury aesthetic. The metallic flake catches light beautifully, shifting shades

depending on the angle and creating visual depth that flat paint can't match.

LAYING IT LOW

Beyond the stunning exterior, Marcus equipped the cart with a sophisticated air suspension system that allows him to adjust ride height on the fly. Four air shocks—one at each wheel— connect to a two-gallon V-Air tank and 440-watt compressor tucked neatly under the seat.

The system runs on its own dedicated battery, separate from the main QomoEnergy lithium power system. "We could have run the airbag system directly to this battery, but being a new battery, I didn't want to do anything to affect the warranty," Marcus explains. "So, we ran the airbag system to its own battery."

This dedicated power source means the air system maintains its charge indefinitely without impacting the cart's main battery or performance. More importantly, it allows Marcus to "lay the cart down really low" for that aggressive stance that defines modern custom builds.

A four-panel switch on the dash controls each corner independently, giving Marcus precise control over the cart's stance. Whether cruising around the community or parked for a photo shoot, the air suspension delivers the look Marcus wanted.

THE DETAILS MATTER

Inside, Marcus focused on creating a functional, attractive space with thoughtful upgrades. Marine-grade boat decking covers the floor, providing a durable, water-resistant surface that's become popular in custom cart builds. The blue and

black pattern ties together the interior color scheme.

The dash features a small media center with a head unit that includes its own amp system powering four Kicker speakers. A front storage shelf provides practical space for items his wife needs while running errands.

Custom upholstery in black with diamond stitching and blue accents covers the seats, matching the exterior wrap color and creating visual cohesion throughout the build. Marcus sent the seats out to a local upholstery specialist who turned them around quickly.

The rear seat features a standard flip-seat design that provides comfortable seating while maintaining the cart's sleek profile. When “flipped,” the seat accommodates bags or supplies, maintaining the cart's practical purpose as a mail runner and errand vehicle.

WHEEL FITMENT CHALLENGES

One of Marcus's trickiest challenges involved wheel fitment. Working with the Mercedes body and air suspension system, he needed wheels that would tuck properly when the cart was laid out without rubbing the fenders.

The breakthrough came when Marcus found 12” RHOX wheels and tires in 205/30-12 sizing with a crucial detail: neutral offset. "Being a neutral offset is what I needed," he

explains. "They tuck just perfect."

That perfect fitment allows the wheels to sit flush with the body when aired out, creating the aggressive stance Marcus envisioned without compromising functionality or causing clearance issues.

CLEAN EXECUTION

Under the seat, the installation work reflects Marcus's attention to detail and car guy sensibilities. The QomoEnergy lithium battery sits alongside the air system components, with everything mounted securely and wired cleanly. Marcus added DC converter upgrades while he had everything apart—"might as well do them," he notes.

The V-Air 440-watt compressor and two-gallon tank provide quick recovery times when adjusting ride height, ensuring the system responds promptly to the dash controls. Everything is tucked away neatly, maintaining clean lines and protecting components.

COMMUNITY RESPONSE

At Trilogy at Glen Ivy, where residents take their golf carts seriously, Marcus's Mercedes-Maybach has become a standout. The combination of the rare body style, eye-catching wrap, and air suspension creates something genuinely different from

the typical custom cart.

"We're in a great community here," Marcus says, acknowledging the cart culture that surrounds him. Having his own regular golf cart for playing the course, Marcus built this one specifically as his wife's cart—but there's no question whose vision and craftsmanship brought it to life.

GARAGE-BUILT EXCELLENCE

What makes Marcus's build particularly impressive is that it's a true garage project. Without access to a professional shop, specialized equipment, or a team of builders, Marcus relied on his own skills, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to learn.

The 90% DIY approach meant figuring out solutions like the wrap instead of paint, sourcing the right wheels with neutral offset, and designing the air suspension system to run independently from the main battery. Each challenge became an opportunity to create something better.

For the remaining 10%—tasks like upholstery and wrap installation—Marcus found skilled professionals who could execute his vision. Knowing when to farm out specialized work is part of building smart, ensuring professional results where it matters most.

ROLLING ART

Marcus Navarro's Mercedes-Maybach custom proves that

stunning builds don't require professional shops or unlimited budgets. They require vision, patience, and the willingness to tackle challenges creatively.

From that rough cart a neighbor gave away to this candy blue showstopper with air suspension and custom details throughout, Marcus created something that stands out in a community full of golf carts. And he did it in his garage, one upgrade at a time.

For his wife's mail runner, Marcus delivered something extraordinary—a Mercedes-Maybach that turns every errand into a statement. https://youtu.be/CJaxivrDlLM

PProfessionals across the golf cart industry understand their products deeply. Whether building custom carts, supplying batteries and aftermarket components, or selling and servicing directly to customers, the industry is built on technical knowledge and operational expertise. That expertise hasn’t changed. What has changed is when and where buyers begin forming trust.

Increasingly, that process starts well before a buyer ever contacts a dealership, manufacturer, or brand. Prospective owners spend time observing online communities, brand forums, and social groups, reading long threads where questions like “Are you happy with yours?” or “What would you do differently?” surface again and again. These conversations are not about specifications or pricing. They are about risk, longevity, and lived experience.

What becomes apparent when you look closely is how limited true owner perspective often is. Not testimonials gathered at delivery or marketing reviews, but reflections from owners who have lived with their carts long enough to understand performance over time. This is especially visible in conversations around batteries, where buyers search for real-world insight into degradation, charging behavior, reliability, and long-term cost. Buyers notice when that perspective is missing. In its absence, they rely on patterns, repetition, and consensus across informal discussions.

This behavior is not a rejection of industry expertise. It reflects a moment of uncertainty early in the buying journey, before buyers know which voices will speak plainly about tradeoffs, long-term considerations, and real-world outcomes. From the outside, many products and brands appear similar at first glance. Technical claims overlap. Language overlaps. Promises sound familiar. Buyers are not looking for more information. They are looking for clarity.

The dealerships and brands gaining traction in this environment recognize that trust is often established before direct engagement. They focus on framing ownership and usage realistically, not just attractively. They explain why experiences can

EARLIER THAN EVER

BEFORE THE TEST DRIVE HOW TRUST IS BEING DECIDED

differ based on use patterns, environment, and expectations. They contextualize decisions rather than simplifying them. Their tone is educational rather than promotional.

This approach does not diminish value. It strengthens it.

When buyers feel informed rather than persuaded, decisions move faster and with greater confidence. Price becomes part of a broader evaluation rather than the primary driver. Relationships begin on more stable ground.

The most telling signal appears later, back in the same spaces where the journey began. When an owner can say, “I chose a brand that helped me understand what this would actually be like longterm,” that statement carries weight precisely because it reflects understanding rather than influence.

As the market continues to evolve, competitive advantage will not be determined solely at the point of sale or specification comparison. It will increasingly be shaped earlier, through how expertise is translated into understanding and how trust is built before the first direct conversation.

This is not a shift in product strategy. It is a shift in positioning. And it is already underway.

MOTORCODE

BUILT BY EXPERIENCE, DESIGNED FOR OWNERSHIP

Every industry reaches a point where experience and innovation finally align. In the golf cart world, that moment is happening now.

For years, dealerships have relied on disconnected systems, paper files, and manual follow ups to manage inventory and customer relationships. At the same time, owners have been left to track down manuals, warranty details, and service records on their own, often long after leaving the showroom. The system worked, but it was never designed for the modern customer.

Motorcode was created to change that. Not as a generic software solution, but as a platform built by people who understand how the golf cart industry actually operates and what both dealers and owners truly need.

WHEN INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE MEETS PATENTED INNOVATION

Motorcode is the result of a rare collaboration between seasoned industry leaders and technology driven pioneers.

Aaron Gouldie, founder of MODZ, grew up inside the golf cart business. Long before accessories, branding, and manufacturing scaled, he watched firsthand how dealerships functioned day to day and where the gaps existed. He saw

how much time teams spent chasing paperwork and how easily customer relationships faded after the sale.

Joining him is Eric Schneider, Motorcode’s Vice President of Sales, who brings nearly three decades of industry experience. With 15 years at Red Dot Enclosures and 14 years at Nivel, Schneider has worked closely with OEMs and dealers across the country. His career has been built on understanding dealership operations from the inside and knowing where systems break down under real world pressure.

Completing the leadership foundation are Motorcode founders Douglas Duncan and Jordan Davies. As innovators, they approached the industry differently. Rather than trying to adapt off the shelf software, they built patented technology specifically around the lifecycle of a golf cart and the people who interact with it.

Together, this team represents something the industry rarely sees. Technology guided by experience and experience empowered by technology.

A PLATFORM BUILT FROM REAL PAIN POINTS

Motorcode did not start with a list of features. It started with real problems.

Dealers struggled with inventory spread across

spreadsheets, websites, and disconnected platforms. Online listings took too long to create and update. Floor plan deadlines were easy to miss. Service reminders were inconsistent or nonexistent.

Owners faced their own frustrations. Manuals were misplaced. Warranty information was forgotten. Service records were difficult to track. When something went wrong or when it was time to sell, owners often lacked clear documentation or an easy way to reconnect with their dealer.

Motorcode was designed to bring everything together.

What began in 2021 as an investment quickly became a long term commitment. MODZ recognized the platform’s potential and became the majority owner, providing industry knowledge, operational support, and a vision for scale. The goal was never to build an app. The goal was to modernize the ownership experience from the first showroom visit through years of use. With Jordan and Doug leading the technology charge, their combined strengths will shape the innovations

and foundation that define the future.

A BETTER EXPERIENCE FOR DEALERSHIPS AND THE PEOPLE THEY SERVE

For dealerships, Motorcode creates clarity and efficiency. Inventory lives in one centralized system where teams can search by brand, model, color, location, and time on the floor. Managers gain real insight into what is moving and what needs attention. Online listings that once took half an hour can now be published in about five minutes and even less using templates, AI assisted descriptions, and mobile photo uploads. Through our web host partner, Golf Cart Resource, when a cart sells, listings automatically update, keeping online inventory accurate without extra work.

Floor plan tracking happens at the unit level, helping teams act before costs escalate. Automated service reminders are sent with dealership branding, keeping customers engaged without manual follow up.

The result is a dealership that feels organized and proactive rather than reactive.

OWNERSHIP THAT FEELS SIMPLE AND CONNECTED

For consumers, Motorcode transforms ownership.

Each Motorcode equipped cart includes access to a digital glove box that lives with the vehicle. Owners can instantly access manuals, warranties, receipts, invoices, service records, and other important documents directly from their phone. There is no need to search through email chains or filing cabinets. Everything is available when it is needed.

Service reminders help owners maintain their cart properly and avoid unexpected issues. These reminders are not generic alerts. They are personalized touchpoints that help protect the investment and extend the life of the vehicle. Whether it's checking your battery levels, air in your tires, or winterization; owners can adjust the reminders they want.

Motorcode also keeps the dealership relationship front and center. Contact information, service appointments, and dealership branding remain easily accessible, making it simple for owners to return for maintenance, upgrades, or accessories.

When it comes time to sell or transfer ownership, the documented history adds value and confidence for the next buyer. The cart tells its story clearly and accurately.

THE TECHNOLOGY THAT MAKES IT ALL WORK

At the center of Motorcode is its patented Adaptive QR technology.

Unlike standard QR codes that lead everyone to the same static page, Motorcode adapts based on who is scanning and why. A shopper sees vehicle details, photos, and options. An owner sees documents, reminders, and service history. A dealer sees inventory data, floor plan timelines, and internal notes.

One code connects every stage of the cart’s life. From the first scan on the showroom floor to years of ownership, the experience stays connected and relevant.

This patented approach allows Motorcode to serve dealerships and consumers at the same time without sacrificing either experience.

A TEAM COMMITTED TO BUILDING WHAT COMES NEXT

With Eric Schneider joining the leadership team, Motorcode enters a new phase focused on growth and execution.

“This platform exists because we have lived through these challenges,” said Aaron Gouldie. “We understand the daily grind of dealerships and the frustration owners feel when information is hard to find. Now that the right team is in place, we are committed to building tools that truly serve both sides.”

“What excites me most is how practical this technology is,” added Eric Schneider. “Motorcode fits the way dealers actually operate and the way customers actually use their carts. This is not a finished product. It is a foundation that will continue to grow.”

Backed by a dedicated engineering team and a steady development roadmap, Motorcode is designed to evolve with the industry.

BUILT FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW

While golf carts are the current focus, Motorcode is built to expand into LSVs, ATVs, and other powersports categories. Future enhancements include deeper analytics, smarter

maintenance insights, warranty processes, and expanded integrations that further improve the ownership experience.

The mission remains clear. Reduce friction. Improve communication. Strengthen relationships.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Motorcode is not about replacing the personal connection that defines great dealerships. It is about supporting it. By removing administrative burden, dealerships gain more time to focus on customers. By giving owners easy access to information and reminders, Motorcode creates confidence and convenience long after the sale.

When industry experience meets patented innovation, progress does not slow down.

Motorcode represents the next evolution of the golf cart industry, built by people who know the business, understand the customer, and are committed to making ownership better at every stage.

WHY UPGRADE TO A LITHIUM GOLF CART BATTERY? A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE

Does your golf cart feel increasingly powerless? Does it run out of battery after just a few rounds, even right after charging? Do you remember the tedious operation and pungent smell the last time you added distilled water to the batteries? Not to mention the painful experience of having to spend thousands on a whole new set of batteries every 2–3 years.

These are the typical frustrations caused by traditional lead-acid batteries, which can no longer meet the modern user's demands for convenience and performance.

Currently, upgrading golf carts with lithium batteries is widely available. This article will help you understand the value of lithium battery upgrades for your golf cart.

WHY UPGRADE? THE ADVANTAGES OF LITHIUM GOLF CART BATTERIES

The transition from lead-acid to a lithium battery for a golf cart is not merely about changing a component; it is about upgrading the efficiency of your entire fleet. Here is why the industry is moving toward lithium.

1. Longevity and Exceptional Durability

Lead-acid batteries typically last only 300–500 cycles, whereas high-quality lithium batteries like ROYPOW products can achieve over 4,000 cycles. This means that while lead-acid batteries may need replacement every 2–3 years, lithium batteries can easily last 5–10 years, effectively outlasting two or three sets of lead-acid alternatives. This contributes to a lower total cost of ownership in the long run.

2. Strong Performance and Longer Range

• A lithium-ion golf cart battery keeps a stable voltage throughout the discharge cycle, so that your cart can deliver strong power and speed regardless of the remaining charge.

• The higher energy density enables them to store more power in the same volumes, permitting you to travel farther on a single charge without worrying about running out of power on the return trip.

3. Lightweight and Space-Saving

A set of lead-acid units can weigh over 100 kg, while a lithium-ion battery pack of the same capacity weighs only about one-third of that. The lighter weight of vehicles brings improved energy efficiency while making vehicle installation and handling processes more accessible. The small dimensions of lithium-ion batteries allow vehicle owners to modify their vehicles.

4. Rapid Charging and Charge Anytime

• Lead-acid models typically require 8–10 hours to fully charge. They must be charged immediately after deep discharge; otherwise, they risk serious damage.

• LiFePO4 golf cart batteries support fast charging and have no memory effect. You can charge them as needed, without waiting for the battery to drain.

5. Eco-Friendliness and Safety

• The lithium golf cart batteries are environmentally friendly solutions as they do not contain lead or cadmium.

• The built-in BMS provides multiple protections against

golfcartguide

overcharging, over-discharging, short circuits, and overheating.

HOW MUCH DOES AN UPGRADE COST?

While the operational benefits are clear, the upfront expenditure is the primary hesitation for many businesses.

1. Average Price Range

The initial capital expenditure (CAPEX) for converting golf carts with lithium golf cart batteries is higher than swapping in new lead-acid units. Generally, a complete lithium upgrade kit ranges from $1,500 to $4,500 per vehicle, depending on the specifications.

2. Key Factors Influencing Cost

The cost of lithium golf cart batteries depends on voltage and capacity levels. The price may rise when you choose premium brands that implement automotive-grade cells and strong BMS systems. The professional installation service will also add to your total expenses.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO UPGRADE?

Not every vehicle in a fleet requires an immediate upgrade. Managers should triage their fleets based on the following criteria.

SITUATIONS WHERE UPGRADING IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

1. Your lead-acid batteries are nearing end-of-life: When your old batteries can no longer maintain basic range and need replacement, it's the perfect time to switch to lithium.

2. High frequency of use: If used for commercial rentals on golf courses, resort shuttle services, or daily commuting within large communities, the durability and fast-charging features of lithium batteries directly enhance operational efficiency and user experience.

3. Extreme emphasis on convenience: If you want to completely say goodbye to maintenance tasks like adding water and worrying about battery sulfation, and pursue an "install and forget" experience.

4. Focus on long-term investment: You are willing to invest more upfront to ensure no battery concerns for the next 5–10 years, achieving a true once-and-for-all solution.

SITUATIONS WHERE UPGRADING CAN BE POSTPONED

1. Existing lead-acid batteries are in good condition, and usage is very infrequent: If you use your cart only a few times a year and the current batteries work fine, the urgency to upgrade is low.

2. Extremely tight current budget: If the initial purchase cost is your sole and primary consideration.

3. The golf cart itself is very old: If the vehicle's residual value is already low, investing in an expensive lithium battery might not be economical.

ACTION GUIDE: FROM SELECTION TO INSTALLATION

Successfully migrating a fleet demands careful specification matching and professional execution.

HOW TO CHOOSE A LITHIUM GOLF CART BATTERY

1. Determine specifications: First, verify the system voltage (36V, 48V, or 72V). Next, select the capacity (Ah) based on

daily mileage needs. Finally, measure the physical battery compartment to ensure the lithium pack fits.

2. Prioritize brands with a good market reputation and professional technical background.

3. Don't just look at the price; focus on the product's cycle life rating, whether the BMS protection functions are comprehensive, and the detailed warranty policy.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION AND CONSIDERATIONS

• The charger must be replaced! Absolutely avoid using the original lead-acid battery charger to charge lithium batteries! Otherwise, it can easily cause a fire.

• Old lead-acid batteries are hazardous waste. Please dispose of them through professional battery recycling agencies.

LITHIUM GOLF CART BATTERY FROM ROYPOW

• When selecting a partner for fleet upgrades, ROYPOW stands out as the premier choice for reliability, performance, and superior total cost of ownership.

• For standard fleet operations requiring extended runtime, our 48V lithium golf cart battery is the gold standard. With a substantial 150Ah capacity, it is designed for multi-round golf days or extended shifts in facility management, which can withstand the vibration and temperature variances common in outdoor commercial environments.

Most of the mat is black, but you can choose trim colors to add a little pop. Want more color? Xtreme Mats also offers limited edition collegiate colors.

WHY WE LIKE IT:

• Protects factory flooring from dirt, sun, and wear

• Adds a unique style touch to your cart

• Custom and pre-made designs fit most major golf cart brands

SEAT COVERS

If your seats are looking worn or you want a fresh look, seat covers are an easy fix. Lazy Life Two-Tone Seat Covers and MODZ SKINZ are two good options. Both use high-quality materials and come in plenty of color options.

Lazy Life Two-Tone Seat Covers are designed to fit right over your existing seats with a simple staple-on install. Where Lazy Life really shines is customization. When ordering, you can choose your outside seat color, inside seat color, thread color, piping, and even upgrade to custom stitching patterns like Diamond, Armour, Cateye Diamond, or Curve. There are a lot of ways to make the seats feel truly yours without replacing the entire seat.

MODZ SKINZ seat covers lean more toward a premium, ready-to-go look. They’re made from heavy-duty marine-grade

vinyl and include built-in foam padding for extra comfort. Available in distressed rustic finishes, black carbon fiber weave, and hotrod red, these covers feature 3D stitching and doubleneedle top stitching for long-term durability. Matching rear covers are also available, and they’re made in the USA.

WHY IT’S WORTH IT:

• Instantly refreshes worn or outdated seats

ASK THE MECHANIC

Q: What steps to add a second lithium battery for more range?

A: Adding lithium batteries in parallel is a great way to increase your golf cart's range (amp-hour capacity) without changing the voltage. However, because lithium batteries have very low internal resistance, you must be precise during the installation to avoid massive sparks or damaging the internal Battery Management Systems (BMS).

Use a multimeter to check the voltage of each battery. They should be within 0.1V to 0.5V of each other. Charge them individually until they are both at 100% before connecting them.

Run a heavy-gauge cable (usually 2 or 4 gauge) from the positive terminal of battery A to the positive terminal of battery B. Run another cable from the negative terminal of battery A to the negative terminal of battery B.

To ensure the batteries drain and charge at the same rate, do not take both main cart cables from the same battery. Instead attach the main positive cable from the cart to Battery A. Attach the main negative cable from the cart to Battery B.

SAFETY:

• Only use batteries of the same voltage, chemistry (e.g., LiFePO4), and capacity (Ah). Ideally, they should be the same brand and age.

• Ensure the cables between the batteries are the same length for less resistance. If your batteries have "Communication Ports" (like CANbus or RS485), use the provided data cables to link them. This allows the batteries to "talk" to each other and balance their internal cells perfectly.

Q: Can my controller help me diagnose issues?

A: Modern golf carts have diagnostic modes that allow the cart to talk to you through beeps or light flashes. Here is how to access these codes for the "Big Three" brands.

1. EZGO (PDS MODELS)

If you have an EZGO with a Run/Tow switch, you can trigger a diagnostic "beep" sequence using the Forward/Reverse (F&R) handle.

Switch to RUN mode, Turn the key to OFF, and move the F&R handle from Neutral to Reverse five times quickly (within 10 seconds). The cart should then beep. The first set of beeps tells you the "Performance Mode" (1-4 beeps).

The second set of beeps are the fault codes. Example, 2 beeps. pause, 1 beep is Code 21, which usually points to a speed sensor issue. There are many of these codes so it's best to look up online to see the one that matches the beeps you’re hearing or there may still be a sticker on the controller cover that shows these as well.

2. CLUB CAR (PRECEDENT/DS)

Club Cars typically use a "Battery Warning Light" on the dash to communicate, or they require a manual reset of the OBC (OnBoard Computer).

If the amber battery light on your dash is flashing, it’s not just a low battery. A continuous flashing indicates the charger timed out without reaching a full charge. This usually means a battery cell is dead. A solid light (while driving) means the batteries have dropped below 20% state of charge.

If your cart won't charge or move, try the OBC reset trick.

Turn key OFF, switch to TOW, and disconnect the main negative battery cable. Wait 5 minutes, reconnect everything and flip back to RUN. This clears "ghost" errors in the computer.

3. YAMAHA (ELECTRIC)

Yamaha carts often have an LED light directly on the controller that flashes a specific pattern.

Find the controller under the seat near the back of the cart under an access cover. Look for a small red or green LED on the body of the controller.

COMMON CODES:

1 Flash: Normal operation, 2 Flashes: Low battery voltage detected,

3 Flashes: Solenoid Fault, 4 Flashes: Speed Sensor

7 Flashes: Throttle/Accelerator fault, Rapid Flashing: Controller overheated
