Big Names, Big Fun

In a way, the celebrity chef restaurant has come to define Las Vegas. The arrival of Wolfgang Puck here decades ago opened the floodgates for others, and you can now find celebrity chef restaurants everywhere on the Strip from names like Giada De Laurentiis, Bobby Flay, Michael Mina, Tom Colicchio and Guy Fieri. But no celebrity chef has thrived here quite like Gordon Ramsay. He’s now up to seven restaurants (in every Caesars Entertainment property), and it doesn’t look like his momentum is about to stop anytime soon.

A big part of Ramsay’s appeal is his television work, most notably Hell’s Kitchen. And his Caesars Palace restaurant that directly reflects that show, Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen, is one of the most popular restaurants on the entire Strip (“Plated Drama,” p. 12). If you’re a fan of him or his show, this is a bucket list item for sure.

Got your reservation? Good! Now you can concentrate on some of the sensational entertainment options available this week, most prominent being the return of Bruno Mars to his residency at Park MGM, which will undoubtedly include postshow visits from the superstar to his Bellagio Lounge, The Pinky Ring by Bruno Mars (“What Can’t He Do?” p. 30).

Plated Drama

Celebrity chef’s restaurant based on his hit reality competition show serves up the perfection you’d expect

When you step into Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen at Caesars Palace, you’ll feel the heat and excitement of dining in one of the Strip’s most electrifying restaurants. Since opening in January 2018, the 300-seat culinary powerhouse has been serving up prime-timeready cuisine. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer spectacular Strip views, creating a dramatic backdrop that’s wholly Vegas. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you spot the iconic bronze HK sign with its signature pitchfork, lifted straight from the show’s set. Step inside and you’re transported into a most glamorous television set. The red and blue accents aren’t just decorative choices; they’re battlefield colors representing the fierce team competitions that have made Hell’s Kitchen appointment television for millions.

The open kitchen is the focal point here. Screen partitions featuring those distinctive “H” and pitchfork symbols create an unmistakably Ramsay feel. As cool as the atmosphere is, what really matters here is the food. This isn’t just dinner; it’s your chance to taste the dishes that have launched careers and ended dreams on national television. Start with the pan-seared scallops that arrive with the same precision

that’s made or broken countless contestants. The legendary beef Wellington—the dish that tests a chef’s culinary skill—is served medium rare and wrapped in a flaky, golden-brown puff pastry with a layer of mushroom duxelles. Served with potato puree, glazed root vegetables and a red wine demi-glace, it showcases exactly why this dish has become the gold standard for a Ramsay meal.

The lobster risotto delivers the creamy perfection the chef demands, while the crispy skin salmon demonstrates the flawless technique television audiences have watched contestants try to master. Don’t miss the braised short rib that falls apart at first touch or the perfectly roasted branzino. End with the legendary sticky toffee pudding paired with speculoos ice cream—it’s the only proper finale to a dinner show this good.

Whether you’re watching the kitchen brigade work their magic or gazing out at the neon-soaked Strip, this restaurant delivers a singular, camera-ready experience. This is dining as spectacle, food as performance art and Vegas at its most delicious. –Genevie Durano

Pioneer Spirit

This long-time headliner is always looking for the next big thing in entertainment

Donny Osmond probably wasn’t thinking he’d be a major headliner in Vegas when he was a kid in the ’70s performing in the city with his brother. He met Elvis Presley, but he wasn’t thinking he’d be Elvis one day. He probably didn’t predict he’d have 14 grandchildren, either, or that one of them would become part of his show in a high-tech segment that uses artificial intelligence.

It all just happened that way. Osmond has been on top of the pop music world and experienced career lows that would have permanently crushed the spirit of most performers, but every phase of his life transitioned to the next until his path led to Harrah’s Las Vegas and a show that he gives every ounce of energy to. Life presented him with a second act, and he did not take it for granted.

Osmond freely credits his family and especially wife Debbie for giving him the stability to succeed. In the ’70s, the Osmonds were one of the most famous families in the world, known for harmonies, good genes and great teeth. They were also among the most famous families in Utah with roots tracing back to 19th century Wales, where the Mormon faith had taken root.

“It was my great-great grandfather that came across,” says Osmond. “He wasn’t one of the pioneers or anything like that. Idaho and Wyoming were the places he settled. My dad was born in Wyoming and my mom was born in Idaho.”

Destiny brought George and Olive Osmond together. Donny was the seventh of nine children who would grow up to have a grandson that resembled him enough to serve as his younger self in a new part of the show, thanks to the aforementioned AI. And in that sense, Osmond is a pioneer. “I had a conversation not so long ago with Penn Jillette,” says Osmond. “And he says, ‘I hate you.’ And I have a great relationship with Penn. ‘What did I do now?’ He said, ‘I have been trying to find a way to use this technology in my act, and you beat me to it!’” –Las Vegas Magazine Staff

Collaboration dinner offers an unforgettable experience

Las Vegas hosts plenty of special dinners, and they are often some of the most anticipated events of the year—case in point, this week’s A Culinary Collaboration dinner at Stubborn Seed in Resorts World Las Vegas. This Aug. 27 six-course tasting menu brings together the cuisines of two of the hottest chefs in the country, chef Jeremy Ford of Stubborn Seed and California chef Mei Lin.

Food fans will recognize both names, as the two chefs are both winners of Top Chef (Ford in season 13 and Lin in season

12), making the collaboration even more exciting. And both chefs have multiple restaurants across the country—earlier this year, Ford opened Stubborn Seed in Las Vegas and Lin opened 88 Club in Beverly Hills.

“This collaboration is all about pushing boundaries, having fun and sharing our mutual passion for bold, flavor-driven cuisine,” said Ford in a news release. “We’re thrilled to bring chef Mei’s innovative dishes to Stubborn Seed Las Vegas for a special night.”

Some of the dishes you’ll find on the menu include cannelloni of wagyu beef tartare with English peas and papaya kimchi; foie gras tart featuring mango from Ford’s farm in Florida; steamed black cod in a Sichuan tingly broth; black garlic-glazed wagyu short rib; and honey panna cotta with glazed figs and rosemary sorbet. The dinner is $125, with an optional $50 wine pairing. –Nina King

A True Showcase of Sensuality

This racy production features beautiful, athletic dancers

Anita Mann, the creative force behind the incredibly successful Fantasy: The Strip’s Sexiest Tease (25 years and counting), is a woman who truly knows and appreciates her history. Indeed, her show, which features some of the world’s most beautiful, athletic women in a variety of dance styles, is a nod to the bygone showgirl era, one that helped to define Vegas in the mid-20th century.

The showgirl, which originated in Las Vegas with the opening of the Moulin Rouge Hotel on May 24, 1955, is still considered one of the city’s most enduring symbols. The impact showgirls had on Mann’s life is now immortalized forever; this year, the National Day Archives commemorated May 24 as National Showgirl Day, and Mann led the charge to make that happen.

Mann, who began her career in show business at a young age, still remembers her introduction to the showgirl vividly: “When I was a young dancer working at the Moulin Rouge in Hollywood, I recall watching the showgirls arrive for their shows,” said Mann in a prepared statement. “They were stunning, talented and deeply

committed to their art. Those women inspired my love for Las Vegas, and I’ve always felt they deserve recognition for shaping what it truly means to be a Las Vegas performer. They are the heart of this city’s entertainment legacy.”

It’s easy to see the influence on Mann’s Fantasy. Through 15 numbers, women from all over the globe wear some truly striking costumes (which, of course, often come off, this being a topless, adults-only show) while engaging in numbers that show off both physical skill and sensuality. Mandy Moore, who choreographed the movie musical La La Land, recently created new opening and closing numbers, and revamped some of the show’s more classic moments.

The show’s musical element remains a strong part of its success, thanks to emcee Lorena Peril, who’s as adept at hitting the high notes to “Roxanne” as she is loosening up audiences with her sense of humor.

Thanks to shows like Fantasy, audiences will always have a connection to a key part of Las Vegas history. –Ken Miller

Cheeky Display

Seven bronze beauties have found their way back to the Las Vegas spotlight. The iconic Crazy Girls statue— featuring dancers immortalized in bronze—has officially moved into its new home at Circa Resort & Casino.

Crazy Girls was a Las Vegas institution, running for decades and helping establish the city’s reputation for sexy entertainment. The bronze masterpiece, sculpted by Michael Conine, was inspired by the revue’s provocative “No Ifs, Ands or …” poster and was installed at the Riviera in 1997.

“The Crazy Girls statue is as cheeky as it gets—literally,” said Derek Stevens, CEO of Circa Resort & Casino.

“It’s a playful nod to the unapologetic fun and flair that built this city.”

After the Riviera closed in 2015, the statue briefly resided at Planet Hollywood before going into storage in 2021. Its return to the public eye recently was done in true Vegas style: a motorcade escort down the Strip, complete with original cast members stepping out of limousines to commemorate the moment.

Located near the elevator to Legacy Club 60 floors up, it’s a great photo op as well as an enduring, iconic reminder of the city’s unique entertainment legacy.

“It captures the spirit of Las Vegas and we hope it brings good luck to all visitors who stop by to say hello to these beautiful ladies on their way to Legacy Club,” added Stevens. – Genevie Durano

Diablo’s Cantina delivers Mexican goodness—and plenty of it

In the mood for Mexican food? I sure am, and I know where to go. Let’s hit up Diablo’s Cantina at Luxor and try as much as we can!

We’ll start with a drink—you know how much I love mezcal, so I’m gonna go for the pineapple mezcal-rita, with El Silencio, agave, chipotle syrup and lime and pineapple juices. I know I’ll need another bev in about five minutes, so I’ll put in my order now for the mezcal Old-Fashioned, a twist on the classic, with muddled orange and cherry, Angostura bitters and simple syrup. What about you? I see several of your favorites—the paloma, with El Jimador silver tequila, grapefruit and lime juices; sangria, made with red wine, orange liqueur, cinnamon, brandy, lemon-lime soda and fruit; and the Mexican cucumber, a combination of gin, cucumber and fresh lime. The sangria, then? OK!

Resorts International
Carnitasskillet

Now, we definitely agree on the nachos for an app, right? It’s got everything I love—fresh tortilla chips, pico de gallo, cheese sauce, crema fresca and pickled jalapeños. 702.262.5225

Shall we get the aguachile shrimp ceviche, with citrus-cured shrimp, mandarin orange, pickled onions, cucumber, red peppers and cilantro, as well? Wait, there’s queso fundido, too. Better add that. We are on vacation.

I guess it will be a little harder to choose entrées, but let’s give it a go. Diablo’s has excellent salads like the Vixen with salad greens, roasted corn, beans, pickled onions, pico de gallo and citrus-chipotle vinaigrette; I’ve had that before, it’s really good. But today, I am getting veggie enchiladas for sure. There are three other types—shrimp, chicken tinga and beef barbacoa, if that’s your choice. We get rice and beans, too, don’t forget. There are a bunch of types of tacos, too, like carnitas, el pastor, filet alambre, Baja fish and even rajas and mushrooms. If you’re in the mood for burritos, the shredded beef version is packed with slow-roasted brisket.

Oooh, here comes my Old-Fashioned. Want that paloma now?

If you want a bigger main, check out the steak tampiquena with achiote-marinated grilled steak. That comes over green chilaquiles and is topped with blistered chilis. The glazed salmon comes with a chipotle BBQ glaze and Mexican slaw. You choose. I want the street corn as a side, for sure, and fried plantains. Do you want to try the Diablo’s fries, too? I’m sure we can get a to-go box if we ask. Do you have a refrigerator in your room? If you don’t, we’ll just have to eat it all now.

Speaking of eating it all, let’s share dessert. Mexican flan, buñuelos and churros. Hmmm, I think we should get all three. I can’t make up my mind. The flan comes with vanilla custard, the buñuelos with vanilla ice cream and the churros with chocolate sauce.

So, whatta you think? Come back tomorrow? Yup, me, too.

From the stage to the club, Bruno Mars has the Strip on lock

When Bruno Mars takes the stage at Dolby Live at Park MGM, something electric happens that you can’t stream, download or replicate anywhere else. This isn’t just another residency—it’s the real deal: Live music that’s breathing, sweating and completely joyful.

Mars has always operated on a different frequency than his contemporaries. In his shows, he strips everything down to what matters most. His presence does the heavy lifting, whether he’s behind the drum kit, leading synchronized steps with his horn section or slowing the room down with a stripped-back ballad that leaves the audience rapt.

The show walks a perfect tightrope between polish and spontaneity, flawless musical execution with just enough looseness to remind you there’s a real band driving it all. Mars slips between funk, soul, R&B and pure pop with seemingly little effort, leading musicians who genuinely look like they’re having the time of their lives up on that

stage. When he transforms the venue into his uptown funk celebration, the entire room becomes his dancefloor. There’s this unmistakable sense that everything happening on stage is happening with the audience, not just performed at them.

The production design shows that restraint often trumps spectacle. Sharp, responsive lighting accents every musical moment rather than overwhelming it. No

giant LED walls or cinematic overkill—Mars doesn’t need the distractions. His command of the room is absolute, whether he’s delivering a powerhouse vocal or simply letting a quiet moment breathe between songs.

The setlist may pull from across his catalog—“24K Magic,” “Treasure,” “Locked Out of Heaven”—but this show is not a retrospective by any means. When he delivers those goose bump-inducing vocal runs, you remember why some artists stand the test of time. And Mars is still making some of the biggest music of his career. This past year alone, he’s topped the Billboard Global 200 for 19 combined weeks with wildly different hits: the infectious “APT.” with Rosé (spawning the equally infectious TikTok dance challenge) and the operatic “Die With a Smile” with Lady Gaga, which earned him Grammy nominations.

Aug. 26-27 and 30-31, starting at $360. ticketmaster.com

This range shows Mars’ unique spot in modern pop. He’s the first artist to surpass 150 million monthly Spotify listeners and arguably the only star of his generation who moves like an analog performer in our digital world. That ability to bridge eras without sounding dated makes his Dolby Live residency a must-watch when you decide what to put on your Vegas entertainment dance card.

The diverse crowd in his shows—lifelong fans or casual listeners—finds common ground by the third song. What’s most impressive is how natural it all feels. No forced moments, no obvious filler, just a locked-in band, a frontman in complete control and a show that’s undeniably spectacular.

And for those who want the full Bruno Mars experience, head over to The Pinky Ring by Bruno Mars, his lounge at the Bellagio. It’s part cocktail bar and part speakeasy, featuring live music, DJs and a menu of drinks as slick and curated as the performer himself. Inspired by classic Vegas glamour with a contemporary edge, it’s a natural extension of the Mars aesthetic: lush, stylish and designed for people who want the night to keep going long after the encore.

Glimpses back in time glimmer at

There’s simply no better way to feel connected to the community you’re visiting than learning its history. But while many cities have famous centuries-old landmarks or storied pasts, Las Vegas is a tad different. The city has a fascinating tale, beginning as a humble railroad town that eventually turned into the Entertainment Capital of the World (and not without atomic bombs and mobsters along the way), but visitors won’t often see historically significant buildings or landmarks throughout the valley. Why? Well, we like to blow things up.

“We’re the implosion capital of the world, right? We don’t just blow up our history. We have a party around it. We have all-night (events) that are just celebrating blowing up a piece of history,” says Aaron Berger, executive director of The Neon Museum. “This city is a town that reinvents itself so constantly that being able to save aspects of the building is the way we do historic preservation here.”

Berger and his passionate team at the museum spend their days tirelessly preserving the stories of Las Vegas by collecting and refurbishing an art form that’s become synonymous with Sin City: neon signs. First appearing in the Glitter Gulch sometime between 1928 and 1930, the glowing form of advertisement quickly became widespread, and by the mid-1930s the then-small desert oasis was covered in the glass and gas artworks. Thanks to the abundant electricity from our beloved Hoover Dam, Las Vegas was simply able to have more illuminated signage than most of America. 702.387.6366

In certain parts of the downtown area, businesses are required to have 75 percent of the total surface of their signage be neon.

With many businesses able to advertise using brightly lit words and flashy figures, the ’40s and ’50s saw increasingly more grandiose artworks. But as time passed and the city changed, many of these pieces of history were cast to the wayside, often out of commission and expensive to repair. That is, until decades later in 1996, when The Neon Museum began to collect and exhibit neon signs as a vital part of Vegas history. It would light its first sign in 2012 and continue to grow a collection that now surpasses more than 800 pieces, with about 250 signs on display.

“We’re incredibly proud and unique in that the historic preservation society of Las Vegas is really The Neon Museum. The sign, however, is the portal to telling the stories of the property,” Berger says. “Any of the signs that you’ve seen in the collection, we can tell you a story about women, we can tell you a story about the entertainment component, the cuisine of the time, all of these different aspects that are opportunities to really dig deeper into the experience.”

Berger isn’t kidding when he talks about storytelling. Take a 45-minute

guided tour through the Boneyard, where an incredibly well-informed guide will tell you about how the Moulin Rouge contributed to the Civil Rights Movement by becoming the first racially integrated hotel and casino, or how the Plaza made waves by allowing women to become dealers before any other casino.

What makes a tour particularly personal is that each guide has their own set of signs they resonate with, so there are signs every tour will hear about, but depending on what docent picks up your group, your tour will be enriched by something they truly connect with. Perhaps a guide will pause to point out one of the cutest in the collection, Happy Shirt, which sat outside Liberace’s dry cleaner of choice. Or they may tell you about the Western era of Las Vegas, when marketing took precedence over cultural sensitivity and businesses around the city embraced the imagery of the indigenous people of the Great Plains, which does not reflect the Southern Paiute indigenous people who are actually native to this area, before they guide you to a sign from the Red Barn, one of Las Vegas’ first LGBTQ bars.

• Look for the massive, hot-pink Moulin Rouge sign, which symbolizes Las Vegas’ first desegregated casino, for a striking shot. Tip: Shoot from an angle to create depth using foreshortening and fit the entire sign in one frame.

• Stop at the collection of redand yellow Golden Nugget, Sassy Sally’s and Binion’s signs, illuminated only by the ambient glow of the neighboring pieces, and some floor lighting for a vintage Vegas vibe and to escape the battle of back lighting.

• Snap a photo with a true Las Vegas icon when you spot Vegas Vic in the country-western corner of the Boneyard. Turn slightly toward the sign to use its neon glow to illuminate yourself.

• Take the perfect vertical pic in front of the mid-century modern Yucca Motel sign, featuring an artfully crafted sculpture of the desert plant. Not only is this piece beautiful, but the Plaza sign across from it provides a flattering soft glow.

• Use a Boomerang to capture the twinkling lights of the Stardust sign, a casino that used to sit where Resorts World Las Vegas is now. Take a wide shot to contrast old and new by capturing one of the museum’s newest additions, the Hard Rock guitar, in the background.

You might know that neon is a gas and that lights use electricity, but do you know how these combine to make fabulous artwork? If not, don’t worry, we’ll make this easy.

Each sign features a series of hand-bent glass tubes, which have been filled with neon (or other noble gases, but we’ll get to that later) and sealed with an electrode placed at either end. Usually using an alternating current, enough electricity to remove an electron from the neon atoms travels through the electrodes and into the tube,

essentially causing all the particles to start moving. As the atoms start to shimmy around, they bump each other, exchanging electrons and releasing energy as a photon, which is light! Each noble gas releases its own wavelength of photon, meaning each produces its own color of light. Neon shines a red-orange hue, while argon glows blue, helium glows pink and krypton glows green. Gases can be mixed to create other colors, or the glass tubes themselves can be colored to affect the glow they give off.

Once the glass tubes are sealed, the gas inside cannot escape, which means many of the signs in the Boneyard are still filled with gas from the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s and so on.

The museum also features modern artworks created by Tim Burton. Lost Vegas exhibited from October 2019 to April 2020, and a few pieces remain in the Boneyard.

“We have four core values that really guide the museum, and the first one is belonging. So whether you work at the museum or you’ve been to the museum, we want you to feel a sense of self in the experience,” says Berger. “So it’s why we tell the story of the LGBTQ community, stories of black community, stories of Latin (people) and stories of indigenous folk that we can share and allow people to have that connection to it. To not acknowledge it is to not acknowledge history.”

All this learning happens while having the singular experience of viewing each sign from just feet away, which becomes more fascinating with each glance.

“When these signs were originally installed, you would not see them

this close. So the fact that you get an opportunity to have a sight line into this piece and have close viewing is kind of amazing,” says director of collections and exhibits Jeff Tackett. “To have close viewing of a relit animated

• Book a tour late in the evening for a serene exploration of the Boneyard as the museum empties out for the evening.

• Look up The Neon Museum on Google Earth to see the Treasure Island Skull staring back at you.

sign is an experience you’ve never ever had before.”

Visitors may also book entry without a tour for a go-at-your-own pace experience that can be enhanced by an optional audio tour, or they can stop in for a showtime of “Brilliant! Jackpot,” an audiovisual experience that uses light-mapping to illuminate unrestored signs with great precision.

Also, see some of the museum’s collection while out on the town, as it has a multitude of signs placed in the median on the north end of Las Vegas Boulevard, including the Caballero and Palomino at the corner of Fremont Street and LVB, which Berger cites to be the first sign design to pay homage to a person of color in a way that’s authentic, not appropriative.

Mandalay Bay

10 a.m. Aug. 24 and 31, starting at $64.50 plus tax and fee. ticketmaster.com

When something lasts a long time in Las Vegas, there’s good reason. In a city full of entertainment and dining options, becoming an institution means providing guests from all walks of life an exemplary experience that leaves them with a sense of satisfaction.

Gospel Brunch at House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay is one such institution. Since its inception more than two decades ago, the all-you-can-eat buffet and live entertainment experience has been uplifting local artists and filling bellies with delicious food.

Though the word “gospel” refers to the teachings of Christ and the content of the show comes from the Christian faith, it’s important to know this is not an exclusionary event. Host Patti Pennington and a rotating cast of choir singers, quartet singers, soloists and instrumentalists seek to uplift anyone who joins for the morning gathering.

“He’s a universal god. We don’t put Him in this box, which makes Him be presented to everybody, whomever they chose to (worship), whether it’s Allah, whether it’s Catholic, whether it’s

whoever,” says Pennington. “The good thing about our music and His music is it is universal. Everybody can relate to hallelujah, salvation and glory … And then the excitement that we bring in the show—we make you dance and laugh. So, it’s not just straight church.”

The truth in Pennington’s words is incredibly apparent the moment guests step foot in the venue, as there’s a welcoming sense of community and curiosity that fills the room almost as much as the irresistible scents of bacon and maple syrup. Then, when talented performers begin to belt spirited serenades from the stage, the impulse to join the revelry is undeniable.

“Music is medicine, music is life … So many people, especially nowadays, are going through so much. So their soul is yearning for maybe a song or maybe some words to inspire them, encourage them, or prepare what they want to say,

but they don’t have the exact words,” Pennington says. “That’s why I always say it feeds your soul, because whatever you’re yearning for, if you came there depleted, you’re going to leave so full. It’s full of joy, full of laughter, full of abundance, full of love.”

While Pennington and her crew feed souls, the House of Blues kitchen staff is hard at work feeding grateful patrons. Find an irresistible array of creole-inspired bites like jambalaya and chicken and waffles offered alongside breakfast classics like omelets and biscuits and gravy.

“I’ve had waffles before, but there’s something about the way they cook the waffles. It’s so amazing, they have a buttery taste,” Pennington says. “And the bacon … I don’t know where or how they cook this bacon, but (it must be) a certain way they cook it because it’s so freaking good.”

Have an uplifting experience at Gospel Brunch in Las Vegas

Some restaurants across the Las Vegas Strip have a secret: From steak and sushi to Italian and American,

the cuisines run the gamut, but what they all have in common is a cool factor—they each offer a hipster hidden

lounge where the art of cocktailing is thriving, and the ambience and décor is wonderfully bougie. Make a

Don’t sleep on the classic Italian American eats at Luchini and the East Coast-style pizza by the slice at the adjacent pizza shop, both reminiscent of hot spots in New Jersey and New York. But in the sit-down space of the pizza shop you’ll spot vending machines … and one of them opens to reveal the entrance to the speakeasy, Chez Bippy. The sexy, very intimate space is adorned with plush velvets, lowlighting and a craft cocktail program that celebrates Italian flavors. Besides the popular Prima Donna, don’t miss the delicious coffee-inspired Bella Notte and the zeroproof cocktails.

Flamingo, 702.733.3111

This classic steakhouse inspired by mobsters Bugsy Siegel and Meyer Lansky is a throwback to classic Las Vegas and Miami vibes with décor decked out in flamingos and foliage. The entrance to the speakeasy, The Count Room, can be accessed from the casino floor; look for the kitschy door to Bugsy’s office, or enter through the restaurant (just ask a hostess). Inside the speakeasy, settle in for an impressive cocktail program and an even more impressive OldFashioned menu. The Japanese Old-Fashioned is the smoothest, the Kentucky Old-Fashioned is the sweetest, the Mexican is smoky, and the Caribbean has deep notes of vanilla and caramel.

The Venetian Resort, 702.414.3474

By day, guests can sit at Nomikai’s sushi bar, but when the sun sets, look for the door to the left and a small hostess stand. You’ll need to make a reservation for Nomikai’s speakeasy, but it’s so worth checking out. Besides wickedly good cocktails with Japanese influences and ingredients, you can order sushi here, too. With all the rage of espresso martinis, Nomikai puts its delicious spin on the classic with the Ube Espresso Martini (it’s to die for!) and the twist on the margarita, the Salted Plum Air Margarita with Olmeca Altos blanco, Cointreau, umeshu, lime, plum and Yukari Shiso salt foam.

Caramella has quickly become a favorite among Vegas insiders for its delicious Italian eats, the expansive patio overlooking the Strip, its weekend brunch and the cocktail specials at the front lounge. But behind the candy shop that’ll you’ll spot before you hit the main space of the restaurant, you’ll notice one of the walls opens to reveal a hidden lounge, styled in a funky and opulent ’70s style. The cocktails are a treat in mixology, like the Vice & Virtue and the Set Me Fredo with frozen Gran Coramino reposado, cola, Angostura bitters and a pistachio gelato.
