CAPE YORK AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDS REGIONAL ARTIST SHOWCASE From illustrators and photographers, to musical groups, soloists and weavers the Cape York and Torres Strait Islands Regional Artist Showcase has attracted some of the finest established and up-and coming artistic talent from across Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait islands The Showcase will see 42 visual artists and performers from across Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait Islands participate in a series of professional development workshops with industry professionals designed to develop their arts practice and professional business acumen. These 42 artists will also be showcasing their talents through performance or exhibition at the Expo. The Nguumbarr Nhaama (See Pictures) Gallery Pop-Up exhibition will feature 16 artists from the communities of Badu Island, Bloomfield, Coen, Cooktown, Erub Island, Hope Vale, Laura, Mapoon, New Mapoon, Port Stewart, Seisia and Wujal Wujal. Agnes Mark, Antoinette Nicole Pearson, Elaine Liddy, Farron Port, Florince Williams, Isobella Barker, Jason Jia, Jane Dennis, Kathi Stefferson, Matilda June Nona, Marilyn Kepple, Nash Snider, Nancy Kiwat, Orionne Albert Mitchell, Vincent Babai, Wudarrabin Snider. Exhibition open: Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June from 9-5pm Bluewater Marquee. The 26 musicians will be entertaining the crowds on Friday 11, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June - Festival Village.
