A magical evening to hear a beautiful musical work about Cooktown commissioned especially for our event. Based on the life and work of the artist and local Cooktown resident Vera Scarth-Johnson and her friendship with the Guugu Yimithirr artist and Elder, Tulo Gordon and Vera’s fascination with the naturalist, Joseph Banks these songs of love, place and identity will be performed amongst Vera’s paintings in her gallery at Nature’s Powerhouse.
