CONTEXT CLARITY CRAFT
Beck’s approach to experiential design
Design That Performs. Build That Inspires.
Design must do more than function, it must spark emotion, elevate experience, and endure. Our architecture performs with purpose: flexible enough to adapt, refined enough to delight, and resilient enough to last. We build what we believe in, and we believe that iconic design and operational excellence are inseparable.
Design is Strategy, Not Sequence.
At The Beck Group, we don’t treat cost, constructability, or performance as afterthoughts. They’re active ingredients from day one. Our integrated model aligns design intent with real-world delivery, ensuring that every bold move on paper is buildable, brand-aligned, and on budget. This mindset is essential for delivering high-performance environments that balance guest experience with operational success.
From Design Vision to Architectural Reality
We adapt the five pillars of Design Thinking: Empathy. Define. Ideate. Prototype. Test This process is agile, iterative, and grounded in reality.
Set-Based Thinking, Not Single-Path Design.
We resist premature convergence. Instead, we work in sets, exploring multiple options, evaluating them through constructability, cost, and performance lenses. This is how we make decisions at the Last Responsible Moment, when we know more, not less.
DESIGN-BUILD, REDEFINED
Beck’s Seamless Integration of Design, Preconstruction, and Construction
At Beck, we redefine the traditional design-build model. Our fully integrated approach brings designers, preconstruction experts, and builders together from day one, ensuring seamless collaboration and real-time insights at every phase of the project.
By working as one cohesive team, we ensure our designs are visionary and supported by accurate cost, coordination, and constructability. With everyone aligned on project goals, we deliver designs backed by budgets, schedules, market trends, and historical data—empowering clients to make informed decisions.
This early collaboration leads to smarter, more cost-effective designs and a smoother, faster path to completion—free from the disconnects that often plague traditional processes.
At Beck, we don’t just build; we create with precision, innovation, and a shared vision for success.

First Baptist Dallas New Worship Center and Campus Expansion
DALLAS, TEXAS
Established in 1868, First Baptist Church of Dallas grew over the next 140 years to become the largest landowner in downtown with extensive facilities, including its historic sanctuary constructed in 1891. Beck was selected as architect for First Baptist’s expansion project. Significant portions of the property were programmed as park and community-focused spaces, with the mission to create an urban oasis serving the city core. For a church committed to setting new standards for ministry excellence, stateof-the art worship and education facilities were critical, set within a campus that would be transparent and welcoming. Foundational to the new campus plan was the creation of First Baptist’s first new worship space, a 3,000 seat worship center, since 1891. Celebrating the church’s long ministry legacy, the historic sanctuary was preserved. Significant portions of the old educational facilities were removed and recreated as an efficient five-story education center. Parking capacity was also expanded and made more efficient through removal of surface lots and an older garage, and the addition of a new 500-car garage.

A monumental fusion of faith, culture, and landscape—where Korean tradition meets contemporary worship in a vibrant new campus.
Joyful Church
POHANG, SOUTH KOREA
For its new facility, Joyful Church envisioned a design that expressed a strong symbolic Christian message, while using traditional Korean symbols in a fusion of architecture, faith and culture. The church is home to growing, vibrant worship and education programs on Sundays and many social welfare ministries during the week. Beck’s design team created a new facility that integrates into the surrounding wooded hillside landscape with gently flowing lines that wrap around a large central plaza. The new facility includes a 2,700-seat sanctuary, 800-seat chapel, cafeteria, cafe, library, fitness facilities, children’s and youth spaces, welfare ministry facilities and a 350-car underground parking garage. Forms and patterns in the architecture were inspired by traditional Korean crafts and calligraphy, creating a unique expression of faith ad culture. Placement of the buildings into the natural hillsides and careful orientation of the windows allow ample natural light into the spaces while providing greater energy efficiency.

DALLAS, TEXAS
The Beck Group was selected to provide construction services for the expansion and renovation of the Temple Emanu-El campus at the corner of Northwest Highway and Hillcrest Road in Dallas. The scope included 35,000 SF of new construction and substantial renovations to the existing 55-year-old structure. The new facilities include a new worship space, a new educational wing, and a second-level addition which consolidates the office and the administration wing. Significant site and landscape improvements both complement and integrate with the new construction. Since the project was constructed in the midst of an occupied campus, Beck’s team maintained a well-organized logistics plan, as well as rigorous campus security. The Beck team also successfully worked around the temple’s busy schedule including the Jewish holidays, the weekly Sabbath, and funerals.

Lake Pointe Church
FORNEY, TEXAS
Lake Pointe Church is one of the largest and fastest growing churches in America, with a key part of its strategy being a multisite approach. For its growing congregation in the Dallas suburb of Forney, Lake Pointe chose Beck to design its first permanent location. Beck’s design focused on transparency, ease of use, flexibility, and warmth to support the church’s ability to reach, grow, and serve the community. The 31,000 SF building provides open, light-filled spaces connecting a 400 seat Worship room (expandable to 650 seats), children and student auditoriums and classrooms, anchored by a dramatic glass-enclosed commons that faces the street. Building materials carried the ideas of authenticity – with brick, reclaimed wood and exposed structure, including a dramatic image of the Cross in the Commons created from plates of weathering steel.

First Baptist Church Arlington - Children’s Education Building
ARLINGTON, TEXAS
As a part of a multiple-phase masterplan by Beck to enlarge, modernize and re-make First Baptist Arlington’s downtown campus, Beck designed anew Children’s Education Building. The new building provides a modern, two-story, 52,000 SF facility for the church’s children’s ministries for ages birth-6th grade, including a weekday childcare program serving over 200 children.
The facility houses a combination of age-appropriate classrooms and flexible assembly spaces, indoor play and game areas, nursery spaces, and administrative and resource spaces to support the wide variety of activities. A large, glass, multi-story lobby connects the new and existing buildings of the church, providing a transparent and welcoming place for families and children to enter the church and find time for fellowship. Beck’s design utilized the large outdoor space between the new and existing buildings as a community courtyard, creating a park-like space for secure outdoor children’s and family activities, which is a great amenity in the church’s urban setting.

First Baptist Church Arlington - Children’s Education Building
When CrossRoads Fellowship decided to relocate and build a new campus, they had a vision to create a place where all generations and backgrounds could connect with God through Jesus Christ. Beck was selected as an integrated design and construction team to make this vision a reality. The design that emerged created a village where multiple building spaces were clustered where everyone would come together to fellowship, worship, and celebrate. This design created age-specific ministry spaces for children, students, young adults, and senior adults, which all flows into a sunlit commons space, and then into a 1,000-seat worship center. Creativity with Context
We believe spaces should reflect the quality, style and identity of the owners and occupants. We are known for responding to our client’s needs. We take care to consider the context of place and purpose. Whatever the project, design excellence remains our focus.
PRECONSTRUCTION
Preconstruction is more than cost-estimating to its early engagement for a cost-certain future.
Thanks to evolution in the industry over the last 20 years, owners can engage preconstruction teams much earlier in the design process. We are passionate about offering enhanced preconstruction services because we know the 10x return on investment that additional planning provides during project construction.
Beck preconstruction and construction team members engage in the process to assist the team in establishing an accurate overall project budget and advise on constructibility issues to eliminate impacts to cost and schedule. This allows a greater degree of accurate cost information earlier in the process and affords the opportunity for the team to explore more options and achieve a higher level of design within the established budget.
With innovative technology at the core, we value the foundations of time tested estimating practices, but seek continuous improvement by embracing new technology and more collaborative processes.
Our proprietary Business Intelligence Platform provides a host of preconstruction analytics and insights including historical project cost data and a variety of others to help our teams make informed, data-based decisions.
We leverage leading—edge tools like DESTINI Estimator and AI-supported applications into our daily production environment.
With Integrated Estimating, we have continued building on our legacy as multi-disciplinary, technically savvy pioneers with the next generation in model-based estimating and parametric-based cost estimating workflows.
