EnrollmentGrowthandStudentDiversity

ColumbusPublicSchoolshasseensteadyenrollment growthoverthelastdecade,movingfrom3,680students tenyearsagotomorethan4,200today.Unlikemany Nebraskadistrictsofsimilarsize,CPScontinuestotrend upward,adding64studentsinthe2024–2025school yearwhileothersexperienceddeclines.Thisgrowth highlightsboththedistrict’sexpandingcommunityand thestrongreputationofitsprograms.

Thestudentbodyreflectsarichdiversity.In2023–2024, Hispanicstudentsrepresentedjustoverhalfofthepopulation at50.42percent,whileWhitestudentsaccountedfor44.29 percent.SmallerbutsignificantgroupsincludeAsian,Blackor AfricanAmerican,AmericanIndianorAlaskanNative,and multiracialstudents.ThenumberofEnglishlearnershas climbedto20.17percent,wellabovethestateaverage.CPS alsoservesalargeshareofstudentsfromlow-incomefamilies, aswellasagrowingpopulationofstudentswithdisabilities, nowapproaching20percent.

SupportingDiverseLearners
