PROGRAM
The Elevate Program provides opportunities for students to extend their academic learning and nurture their passions, gifts, and interests beyond the classroom. Through a range of competitions, events, clubs, and enrichment offerings, they are challenged to grow, develop valuable skills, and thrive in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Qld da Vinci Decathlon
The QLD Da Vinci Decathlon is a prestigious academic competition for Years 5–11, where teams of eight students at each year level test their creativity and critical thinking across ten diverse disciplines. This highly competitive event promotes teamwork, problem-solving, and intellectual growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. It also offers students the opportunity to compete against other leading schools, showcasing their abilities across all ten challenge areas.

Redeemer Robotics
Redeemer Robotics is one of the pinnacles of our Elevate program, offering students in Years 5–7 the chance to compete in the exciting FIRST LEGO League Challenge competition. In teams, students design, build, and program robots to tackle real-world science and engineering problems. With the energy of a sporting event, this competition fosters teamwork, innovation, and lifelong skills —all while having a blast!

JS STEM Club
STEM Club at OSHC offers students the chance to explore coding and tackle exciting engineering challenges. Through hands-on projects, students develop critical problem-solving skills, creativity, and teamwork. Junior eSports offers students in Years 4–6 a fun, team-based introduction to competitive gaming, building digital skills, communication, and strategic thinking. With a new game each term— Just Dance, Mario Kart, and Minecraft—students enjoy age-appropriate challenges that foster collaboration and friendly competition.

Tiny Tech
This program unlocks your child's potential with fun, play-based coding and robotics program for Year 1 and 2 students. Using Beebot, Sphero Indi, Ozobot, Root iRobot, and ScratchJnr, students build digital skills, solve simple problems, and learn foundational coding concepts. Held during Monday 1st break, the program focuses on robotics in Terms 1 and 2 and coding in Terms 3 and 4, laying the groundwork for success in future programs.

Junior Tech
Junior Tech is a two-year co-curricular program that introduces students to robotics and coding through fun, hands-on learning. Using tools like Root iRobot, LEGO WeDo, SPIKE Prime, and Sprite Lab, students build programming skills and explore key concepts like sequencing, branching, and iteration preparing them for advanced programs and FIRST LEGO League competitions.

Next Tech

Redeemer’s eSports program invites Year 7–12 students to sharpen their competitive gaming skills while building teamwork, strategic thinking, and digital literacy. In a positive and inclusive environment, students take part in tournaments that promote sportsmanship and collaboration. Senior school students also have the exciting opportunity to represent Redeemer in the prestigious Fuse Cup, competing in popular titles such as Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., Rocket League, and Marvel Rivals.The program also offers a deep dive into digital game design, guiding students through context, concept, theme, mechanics, and gameplay, as they create storylines, develop characters, and explore art style, graphics, sound, and music to design games.

Griffith University STEM Ambassadors
The Griffith University STEM Ambassador Program at Redeemer empowers senior students to champion STEM across the college. Through collaboration with Griffith’s Science on the GO! initiatives, students engage in hands-on activities, leadership training, and create STEM action plans to inspire peers and increase STEM awareness and participation school-wide. This program helps students develop valuable skills, build connections, and nurture a culture of innovation at Redeemer.

Griffith University STEM CUP
Redeemer is one of only four schools in South-East Queensland chosen to host the Griffith University STEM Cup. This exciting event gives 30 Year 5 and 6 students from Redeemer the chance to compete against other regional schools in a series of rotational STEM challenges, earning points for their school as they advance. The top two schools at the end of the event will be invited to compete in the Finals at Griffith University on the Gold Coast.

QAMT Years 7- 8 Quiz
Students in Years 7 and 8 with a passion for mathematics can take part in the annual QAMT Maths Quiz. This competition features five sessions estimation, speed, written problems, individual short-answer questions, and general maths knowledge designed to challenge students’ problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning across a range of formats.

Academic Committee
Redeemer’s Academic Committee is led by our Academic Captains, who guide with passion and purpose, championing learning across the College. Meeting fortnightly for mentoring, the Captains oversee the committee, which is open to all interested senior school students. World Scholar’s Cup
The World Scholar’s Cup is a global academic program designed not just as a competition, but as a celebration of learning. Its purpose is to inspire curiosity, foster teamwork, and encourage students to connect knowledge across diverse subjects while engaging with serious global issues in a fun and collaborative way. Participants join a vibrant international community and take part in four main events: Team Debate, where scholars argue motions on varied topics; Collaborative Writing, which challenges teams to craft creative and persuasive pieces; Scholar’s Challenge, a multiple-choice test across six subject areas; and Scholar’s Bowl, a fast-paced multimedia quiz that tests teamwork and critical thinking. Together, these activities aim to build confidence, creativity, and friendships that last a lifetime.

Iona College
A group of Year 7–9 students are chosen to take part in the annual Interschool Day of Excellence at Iona College. This event provides students from like-minded schools the opportunity to participate in a range of workshops that focus on higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. Covering areas such as visual arts, robotics, coding, filmmaking, drama, history, and creative writing, the day is designed to challenge and inspire our middle-year students while celebrating their diverse talents.

OptiMinds
Students in Years 3 and 4 are offered the opportunity to participate in the Opti‐MINDS Creative Sustainability Challenge, a program that empowers young people to think, create, and communicate through open‐ended, team‐based problem solving. It develops creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and complex problem‐solving skills across areas such as Language Literature, Science Engineering, Media Communication, and Social Sciences. Overall, Opti‐MINDS inspires a love of learning, encourages innovative thinking, and provides a vibrant, supportive, and challenging environment for students to showcase their talents.
