The team at Great Lakes Health, Wellness & Aesthetics in Wyandotte stands above the competition. Being composed of medical professionals including a physician and nurse practitioners, they help improve their patient’s quality of life via regenerative medicine by continually training with the best to bring the newest treatment results to their clients with natural, safe results.
They offer a wide range of services, peptides, exosomes, lasers, threads, fillers, Botox and IV nutrition. They also offer medically supervised weight loss programs.
Currently, the medical spa is featuring two state-of-the-art body contouring machines, the Emsculpt NEO and the Exion Multiplatform. These BTL technologies are designed for aesthetic procedures such as facial rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction, and improving skin laxity through toning and muscle/skin lifting.
The Emsculpt NEO is a non-invasive treatment that targets stubborn fat and builds muscle. It combines RF heating (radiofrequency heating through high-frequency radio waves) and HIFEM technology (using electromagnetic fields to contract muscles and reduce fat). This 30-minute procedure provides noticeable results without any downtime, making it ideal for body shaping and muscle reeducation. Whether your goal is body shaping or muscle reeducation and wellness, this 30-minute procedure helps you achieve results without any downtime.
The Exion Multiplatform offers a variety of options, including RF, Exion face and body treatments, and Emface. Exion works by combining RF energy with targeted ultrasound to heat the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and tightening the skin. This results in improved skin

texture and reduced wrinkles – without the need for needles or surgery.
These treatments naturally increase hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin, offering a 37% reduction in wrinkles, a 23% lifting effect, and a 30% increase in muscle tone – again, with zero downtime and no needles.
“It’s like giving your skin a big, refreshing drink of water, making it plump up and look super refreshed,” shared Dr. Anne Abrahamson, owner of Great Lakes Health, Wellness & Aesthetics.
Tone, tighten, and transform –guided by the professionals at Great Lakes Health, Wellness & Aesthetics.
Choosing the Exion Face option provides the ultimate skin boost with a powerful glow, while the EMFACE option offers non-invasive facial sculpting. Emface is the first therapy that works on the framework of your face from the inside out with results that last up to a year according to clinical trials. You can preserve and prolong your results with a quality skincare regimen that includes a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
“The beauty of Emface is that most patients are great candidates. Exceptions include people with implantable electronic devices such as defibrillators, pacemakers or metal implants that can interfere with the electromagnetic waves near the treatment area. There are no restrictions on skin type or tone,” Dr. Abrahamson explained.
Emface is the only noninvasive facial treatment that targets not only the skin but the underlying muscles, which help form the foundation of our face. It enhances the deep structure of the face, which supports the overlying skin and soft tissue. Since Emface
builds the foundation, it’s complementary to other procedures, such as injectable fillers, neurotoxins, and lasers, if desired.
To maintain optimal results, Dr. Abrahamson recommends quarterly maintenance treatments following the initial BTL procedures, as aging is a continuous process. And she says that they’ve received a positive response from the Downriver community to the new offerings of the BTL procedures. And while they have provided demonstrations to the public, most people have become aware of the new technology through social media.
Alongside these procedures, Great Lakes Health, Wellness & Aesthetics carries Alastin skincare products You can purchase them in the office or through their website where you can also find their informative blog with health news and tips. ◆

Pam Archibald, Vice President of National Operations for ATA National Title Company, has worked for ATA for 15 years and has been in her current role for five.
“When we first entered this market, we knew success wouldn’t come from simply opening our doors,” Pam said. “We had to earn our place.”
She explains that the title industry is built on three pillars: trust, relationships, and service. Since the very beginning, ATA has been committed to all three. Pam added, “Now, as we continue to grow and establish ourselves, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made and the partnerships we’ve built.”
A key member in their growth has been Amber Majtyka, ATA’s Sales Representative. Her dedication to building relationships has been instrumental in helping ATA. “Being born and raised in the Downriver area, it means a lot to represent ATA in our community. Our relationships go beyond business – we’re truly invested in people, the growth, and the

success of our neighbors,” Amber said. “It’s rewarding to support local real estate professionals with the tools, resources, and personal service they need to thrive.”
The team at ATA is committed to providing seamless transactions and knows adding a personal touch is essential. Efficiency, accuracy, and communication are everything in their industry. Pam said, “We believe that real estate professionals, lenders, sellers, and homebuyers deserve a partner. By showing up, listening, and finding ways to support our clients beyond the closing table, we have created meaningful connections that continue to drive our success.”
Attention to clients matters to ATA no matter who they are. Pam explained, “Every client, whether a seasoned real estate agent or a first-time homebuyer, receives the same level of attention and care from our escrow processors, Carol Gibson and Amanda Finney. Our goal is to make every closing stress-free so our clients can focus on what really matters – building their future.” Carol and Amanda work

with clients from the time the order is received until the closing occurs.
ATA has set itself apart from other companies by going beyond traditional services. They offer marketing support, industry insights, and training opportunities that help their partners grow their businesses. Whether it’s continuing education (CE) training, a social media strategy session, or personalized marketing strategies, ATA is there to add value in ways that extend beyond the closing table.
For them, success isn’t just about numbers; it’s about making a difference in the community they serve. ATA actively participates in local events, supports charitable initiatives, and looks for ways to give back. Being present and engaged isn’t just a business strategy. Really, it’s part of who they are to their core.
Amber Majtyka also serves as Chair of the Southeastern Border Association of Realtors (SEBAR) Community Outreach Committee. ATA proudly participated in several charitable events supporting amazing organizations like the Downriver Community Clinic, New Beginnings Mercy House, Paula’s House, Penrickton Center for Blind Children, Philadelphia House, and Special Days Camps.
Amber has found the experience very rewarding. She said, “Giving back is a big part of who we are, and we’re passionate about making a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
As ATA experiences continued growth, they have stayed true to their
mission: to be a trusted, reliable, and valuable resource for the community.
While ATA has ties to different parts of Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, everyone who works out of their Trenton office was born and raised Downriver. “You have a strong sense of connection and belonging if you are from Downriver,” Archibald said. “It feels like a small town even though the area is comprised of multiple cities. People tend to know their neighbors and support our local businesses.”
The company is extremely thankful to everyone who has welcomed them into this market and is enthusiastic about their future.
Looking ahead, Pam said, “We are excited about the future and look forward to deepening our relationships, expanding our services, and finding even more ways to support the professionals and families who rely on us. We are just getting started and can’t wait to see what’s next!”

How one veteran ,s 10k lighthouse swim unites a community
EDIT JASON KLAMM
Marking the three-year anniversary of his journey to create the Find Your Way Home Swim, a 10k course from Grosse Ile to the Detroit River Lighthouse on Lake Erie, P.J. Ramsey reflected on his inspiring path. After retiring from the Navy, P.J. eventually moved back to his hometown of Grosse Ile, where he’d pre-trained in hopes of one day becoming a SEAL. In that span of time, though, he’d had his fill of swimming.
In 2003, P.J. was 20, running a successful lawn and tree company, spending his free time swimming with his buddies. “I’d get off work, load up a backpack full of beer, grab my swimming gear, jump off a dock, and I’d swim out to wherever my buddies were,” Ramsey says. He was killing two birds with one stone – getting some exercise in and spending time with his friends. Still, something was in the back of his mind. This was not even two years after 9/11, and “I just felt a calling to go serve.” He sold his business and joined the Navy, getting his orders for SEAL training a couple of years in.
P.J. retired in 2018, and like many veterans had to navigate through new

waters. “I thought getting out would solve all my problems, and as soon as I got out, the wheels fell off the bus,” Ramsey says. He was self-medicating with alcohol, and became suicidal. He began the recovery process: his last drink was September 4, 2018. Weeks later, his house caught fire while he was out. His printer had failed printing the receipt for the deposit he’d paid at a treatment center. When he got home, he looked to a friend and said, “This sober thing isn’t for me. As soon as they let me in, I’m grabbing a bottle.” When he went in,
he found the liquor cabinet burnt to the ground.
“I walked outside and fell down on my knees and started crying.” He left for rehab shortly thereafter, getting treatment for alcohol dependence and PTSD. He rebuilt his house, and eventually came back home to Michigan. He’s been sober now for over six years. It was all down to a simple four-letter word, as he puts it: Help. “I needed it. I just didn’t know how to ask for it, and I thought it was weakness… And that’s common with guys.” Especially

given the taboos around mental health in the military, Ramsey reminds us, “We’re not meant to be walking our hardships or our victories on our own.”
Despite not wanting to relive his days as a SEAL, P.J. eventually jumped back into the water, and then did it again, and again. “Then I just had this wild vision that I was like, ‘I want to swim to a lighthouse at some point.’”
were 33 swimmers and kayakers (who paddle along for safety checks) and massive community support behind the idea, including six more law enforcement agencies. On September 23, 2023, the group swam the 10k (6.2 miles) from Grosse Ile to the Detroit River Lighthouse in 2.5 hours or so, raising around $100,000 for the STEPUP Foundation. 2024’s swim was equally successful.
He met Sara Wilkinson, founder of the STEPUP Foundation, at one of their own swim fundraisers. P.J. immediately proposed the idea of a lighthouse swim to her. Wilkinson started the STEPUP Foundation in 2020 to honor her late husband, Chad Wilkinson. As the Foundation’s website says, “Sara is dedicated to using her voice and her story to change the narrative and the number to this veteran suicide epidemic.”
Last June, P.J. called up a friend for coffee and to see if the swim was a good idea. “Do you think I’m crazy thinking that I could swim out to the lighthouse?” It’s a long stretch, but they both realized it wasn’t impossible; he gave himself71 days to coordinate it, including assistance from law enforcement. It wasn’t long before there
P.J. and the Find Your Way Home Swim show that you can take care of yourself and people in need at the same time. “You are swimming alone, but you’re not alone out there,” Ramsey says. The way we get help is asking for it, and the Find Your Way Home Swim has proven that. “The outpouring from the community… is just completely overwhelming in a great way.”
While the name “Find Your Way Home” has a seemingly obvious meaning – P.J. did find his way back after years away – to him, it means something else. “Yes, this is my physical home, and it will always be here.” But the first time someone asked him about it, he explained. “I tapped on my heart when I said this. I said, ‘find your way home right back to here and who you are.’” ◆

Mastering the Art of Selling Homes with Precision and Passion
As Grosse Ile’s top single producing agent on the island, Kim’s continued success is defined in hermotto, “The Difference is in the Details!” When working with clients to sell their home there are so many things to consider and each situation is different, however, Kim believes in a set of key tasks that help to set her clients up for success.
As a top agent, Kim always creates a customized marketing plan for each property she lists. She has a deep understanding of the Grosse Ile real estate market and what makes each area of the island unique. Kim’s strong working relationship with photographers and videographers allows her to create visually appealing marketing pieces that separate each home from the competition. Her plans also include a range of advertising, from direct mail and print to social media campaigns and high-quality marketing brochures.
Kim’s goal when listing a home is to ensure the buyer can imagine themselves in the home by defining the space. Kim has found a few simple changes can really make a house shine and help buyers to see how they can

From the first listing appointment to closing day, one of Kim’s greatest strengths is that she is dedicated to listening to her clients. She makes it a priority to understand their goals and needs and works to make sure they’re met. She understands that

buying or selling a home can be stressful and is always there to talk her clients through the challenges and offer connections to local service providers to aid in the process.
“We give our highest recommendation for Kim Draper! From start to finish Kim was always there. Knowledge, response, communication.”
– Chris M.
Kim strives to educate herself on every feature and selling point of her client’s homes. She ensures that these features are highlighted through extensive marketing and showings of the property. A unique feature to the seller may not be a buyer’s preference. That’s when Kim’s creativity kicks in. She has the ability to quickly come
up with ideas and suggestions on how to make it work for the buyer.
“Kim recently helped me sell a family home and was awesome to work with throughout the process. At my request, she came to the home prior to listing and offered advice on what repairs/improvements to pursue in order to help it be more competitive. She was very responsive to any request or communication and overall was a joy to work with. Her experience gave me the utmost confidence throughout the entire sales process. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell in the area.”
– Steven B.
Kim has found it’s important to not just sell the home, but everything around it: the community, the schools, the local businesses and here on Grosse Ile, the beautiful natural surroundings we have to offer. Her extensive knowledge of Grosse Ile makes it possible for her to accomplish this.
“My wife and I have purchased and sold multiple homes throughout the years. Kim was by far the best realtor we’ve worked with. She knew what was needed to get us a full price offer with a quick closing date. Her communication skills, attention to detail and dedication to her clients made our transition out of state from a home we’ve been in for over 30 years seamless.”
– Dr. B
No one will work harder or invest more time, money, passion, and energy to sell your home than Kim. Many of her clients come from repeat business or referrals, which is why she believes it’s even more important to invest in the details. Exceeding every client’s expectations is a must. ◆

Johnpaul Finazzo runs J. Finazzo Construction, a company that’s been serving Downriver for over 60 years. His father’s family moved to Wyandotte in search of factory work, and just after he graduated from Roosevelt High School, the elder Finazzo started his own construction business.
The Finazzo family finally had roots here, and as they do, the kids sought out everything from medicine to real estate. Except Johnpaul, who went to Michigan State to earn a construction management degree before he took on the huge responsibility of running the family business.
While the Finazzo family itself is wideranging in terms of local businesses, the J. Finazzo Construction is Johnpaul’s baby. He took over the business fully in the early 2000s, though his expertise started closer to the age of 10, when he started hanging around the business and seeing how construction operates. It’s not just about getting the staff or the equipment or the materials, but about understanding the specific needs of the location itself, especially for medical facilities. General contractors don’t always have this kind of specialty, but if you’ve got a radiology office, for example, he knows

how to lay out the electrical before you call for a consultation.
Anticipating needs – not just planning –is a bigger part of contract work than people might assume. This also makes Finazzo’s other specialty – custom homes – a natural byproduct of all that time working with businesses who depend on his expertise. He’s currently building a home for Carla Zajac and James Slaven, owners of Regina Andrew Designs. It’s not just your typical homebuilding, either – these are fully custom projects overseen by Johnpaul himself, built to make the dreams of his clients come true as they build their ideal home.
With all of this high profile work, in addition to keeping up the family name, Finazzo remarkably still finds time to work closely with the community, often hand in hand with his wife, Liesa. “Johnpaul and I have been very much involved with the Guidance Center,” Liesa explains. The Guidance Center (guidance-center.org), which has been around as long as J. Finazzo Construction, has a mission to support children and adults coping with mental health challenges and more. The Finazzos have been donors and volunteers there for the last decade, and Liesa now finds herself working for the Center.
“Once my kids went to college, I decided to go the philanthropy route, because the
Guidance Center is something Johnpaul and I both really believe in.” One program at the Guidance Center, Kids Talk, is designed to support children who have been sexually abused. Johnpaul has conducted pro bono work for that program to help them find buildings so they can expand, consulting with them to help them find an architect. Philanthropy and community service are Johnpaul’s chief concentration outside of his work and family life. He is also a member of the Grosse Ile local Knight of Columbus order. He’s also taken every qualifying class to become a member of The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, a volunteer organization which works to support the Coast Guard in search and rescue, environmental, and other missions. He and Liesa are even expanding their mission of community services to other businesses, through a relatively new venture of their own.
They own Roosevelt Plaza, at 410 Eureka in Wyandotte, and for an extended period they found that one of their units had gone unrented.
“We were thinking, ‘What can we do? What does the community need? What are people doing?’,” Liesa says. Then, once COVID hit and remote work was becoming the reality for a huge chunk of the population, they opened Riverside Office Suites (riversideoffice-suites.com). Remote workers who
don’t necessarily want to work from home, and people who simply need a standalone office can easily find themselves at home (or work) in a fully-secure location with individual offices to rent, which come with access to a common area for clients, a kitchenette, and even an on-site masseuse.
Riverside Office Suites has been so popular that the Finazzo’s have even expanded since that initial location, to right next door. When Mancino’s Pizza in the other nearby complex went out of business due to COVID, they took it as an opportunity to expand in to a “Phase 2” of Riverside Office Suites, adding another slate of offices to rent.
It’s not often you can create a successful business built solely on the foundation of supporting other local entrepreneurs, but the Finazzos have managed to do it, and expand, while still working hard at J. Finazzo Construction. Whether it’s volunteering with the United States Coast Guard, helping the most vulnerable parts of society thrive, or even just boosting small businesses, by switching focus to what they and the businesses can do for Wyandotte, Johnpaul and Liesa have managed to help improve their own little slice of Downriver. ◆

For over 25 years, I’ve worked in Trenton’s real estate market, my hometown, selling more homes than any local realtor. I’ve learned to adapt, managing through the Great Recession’s tough times and today’s busy market. My experience and training, built over decades, have helped me stay steady. I believe realtors like me can guide clients toward their goals, offering support and confidence along the way.
I tell sellers to prepare carefully–know the process and get their homes ready. For buyers, I suggest patience in this fast market, assuring them there’s always another chance if they wait. Awards have come my way, but what matters most to me are the relationships I’ve formed–with clients and colleagues. They show I’m doing something right.
My career has had its highlights. I’ve ranked among the top realtors, in the top 2% nationwide, and held Million Dollar Producer status for 25 years. I’ve also earned an Associate Brokers License and a spot in the Million Dollar Round Table. These things reflect the time and effort I’ve put in, and I’m grateful for what they represent.
More than numbers, I try to bring care to every deal. My clients seem to appreciate that, trusting me for more than just results. After all these years, I still aim to keep things real–focusing on people, not just victories. That’s what keeps me going in Trenton’s real estate world.

Looking for a smart, ecofriendly way to give your roof a second life? Kincaide Roof Rejuvenate offers a gamechanging solution that revitalizes your roof without the steep cost of a full replacement. This innovative service restores your roof’s condition, extending its life and improving its durability – all while being budget-friendly and environmentally conscious.
After years of experience in construction and the dumpster busi-
ness, owner Scott Kincaide was inspired to bring roof rejuvenation Downriver. Following extensive training, he became an authorized dealer for the region and began offering this cutting-edge service to homeowners who want to protect their most valuable asset.
Roof rejuvenation works by restoring moisture to your roof, reversing the effects of wear and tear. Using a special soybean oil treatment, it rejuvenates the materials, restoring flexibility and strength. This is a greener, more efficient method compared to traditional roof sealing, and it’s a fraction of the cost – typically around 20% of a full roof replacement. Best of all, it provides protection that can last for up to five years.
Kincaide Roof Rejuvenate stands out for its personal touch. Scott is hands-on throughout the process, ensuring every detail is taken care of. As he puts it, “I’m the guy with the details. I explain everything to the customer, from their roof’s current value to how rejuvenation works, so they can make the best decision for their home.” Plus, with financing options available, it’s easier than ever to invest in your roof’s longevity.

Holbrook’s Roofing Co., founded by Greg Holbrook in 1980, has served commercial and residential customers in Trenton, Michigan, and surrounding areas for over four decades. Greg attributes the company’s steady growth to integrity. “I have a solid name, and that’s vital to me,” he says. “If I say I’ll do something, I do it. Mistakes? We fix them at my cost.”
The company focuses 75% on commercial clients, with residential work making up the rest. It handles low-slope and flat roofing – metal, PVC, EPDM, and TPO – benefiting from innovations in technology and materials. “New synthetic systems offer 20- or 30-year warranties,” Greg explains. “Ponding water
used to void warranties, but now manufacturers trust the material’s quality. Good roofing keeps water off, but they’ll cover reasonable exceptions.”
That honesty drives repeat business, with over 20% of contracts from returning clients. The city of Woodhaven, for instance, hired Holbrook’s to replace roofs on its city hall, police, and fire stations – twice, 20 years apart. Though small, the company lands big jobs, like a $1.4 million warehouse roof for Norfolk Southern. “One of my biggest projects,” Greg recalls.
Holbrook’s also installs gutters, siding, and windows, holding a Master Elite certification from GAF Materials Corporation for top-tier warranties. From humble roots, Greg’s commitment to trust and quality has built a 44-year legacy in Downriver, proving that a good name and reliable work go hand in hand.
