Signature Experiences Day 1. Homeland - Bucharest Arriving to Bucharest, meet your Englishspeaking tour guid. Begin the sightseeing tour in Bucharest. Transfer to the hotel for 1 night. Welcome dinner. Day 2. Bucharest - Sinaia - Brasov Morning drive to Sinaia to visit the palaces of Peles and Pelisor, the former royal residences of King Carol I. These magnificent German Renaissance-style palaces are a complex of magnificent turrets rising above swathes of green meadows. Continue to Brasov and stay 2 nights. Day 3. Brasov - Zarnesti - Viscri - Bran Brasov Morning visit to the Liberty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti, the only sanctuary for rescued bears in Romania, with more than 80 bears currently under care. Continue to the atmospheric Saxon town of Viscri where the Prince of Wales has bought and restored several properties. Visit the 12th-century church, one of the oldest in Transylvania. End the day with a visit to Bran castle, which is famously associated with Dracula, the legendary character from Bram Stoker’s gothic novel. Return to Brasov. Day 4. Brasov - Prejmer - Saschiz Sighisoara - Targu Mures Morning drive to Sighisoara, visiting the fortified church of Prejmer. Tour of Sighisoara, a beautifully preserved medieval settlement. The city walls encircle cobbled streets lined with colourful 16th-century burgher houses. Visits include the citadel, the Church on the Hill and the clock tower. Continue to Târgu Mures and stay overnight. Day 5. Targu Mures - Bazna - Alba Iulia Sibiu Morning city tour of Târgu Mures. Târgu Mureș lies on the Mureș river, the second longest river in Romania (after the Danube). Including a visit to the Palace of Culture. The Art Nouveau edifice, designed in Secession style, has 3 buildings: the main building, the right building and the left building. Above of the Entrance Hall is the Mirrors’ Hall, located on the first floor of the building. Continue to Bazna, where you will explore the village better. Cart ride to the fortified churches of

Bazna and Boian. In the afternoon, we will drive further to Alba Iulia to view the Roman ruins and the citadel. At the end of World War I, representatives of the Romanian population of Transylvania, the National Assembly of Romanians of Transylvania and Hungary, gathered in Alba Iulia on 1 December 1918 to proclaim the Union of Transylvania with the Kingdom of Romania. Overnight in Sibiu. Day 6. Sibiu - Horezu - Ramnicu Valcea Morning city tour of Sibiu. Sibiu is one of the most important cultural centres of Romania and was designated the European Capital of Culture for the year. Including a visit to 14thcentury Evangelical church and the Brukenthal Art Musuem. Afternoon drive to Râmnicu Vâlcea. En route, visit Horezu monastery, considered to be one of the finest in Romania. Stay for 1 night in Ramnicu Valcea. Day 7. Ramnicu Valcea - Curtea de Arges - Bucharest Morning drive to Curtea de Arges, the former capital of Wallachia. Visit the Episcopal church, where the Romanian Kings are buried. Continue to Bucharest and stay overnight. Enjoy the traditional dance and music show during the festive dinner. Day 8. Bucharest - Homeland Morning tour of Bucharest, known as the ‘Paris of the east’ due to its boulevards and Belle Epoque buildings. View the Old Princely Court, the Royal Palace and visit the Palace of Parliament, which is the third largest building in the world. Early afternoon transfer to the airport and fly home.
