Kristin Chenoweth stars in “Hairspray Live!,” premiering Wednesday on NBC.
The spirits and hair are both sky-high on NBC’s ‘Hairspray Live!’
BY JOHN CROOK
A fter earning rave reviews for last year’s “The Wiz Live!,” NBC is fielding perhaps its strongest holiday musical talent lineup yet in “Hairspray Live!,” premiering Wednesday, Dec. 7.
Texas newcomer Maddie Baillio stars as dance-crazy Baltimore teen Tracy Turnblad, but she’s surrounded by an ensemble of music, dance and comedy veterans, including Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, Tony and Emmy winners Kristin Chenoweth, Andrea Martin and Martin Short, and Emmy winners Sean Hayes, Rosie O’Donnell and Derek Hough.
For many “Hairspray” fans, however, the biggest draw will be Harvey Fierstein, who won a Tony Award as Edna Turnblad, Tracy’s mom, in the original Broadway production. It’s a real tour de force, yet despite multiple accolades and more than 1,000 performances in the part, Fierstein found himself
passed over in favor of John Travolta in the 2007 bigscreen adaptation.
When executive producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan offered him a chance to reprise this signature role, Fierstein jumped at the chance.
“These live television things are a throwback to the olden days and yet they’re something completely new, certainly not an experience you’d have every day,” he explains. “Theater, production-wise, is very two-dimensional. There’s a proscenium and the stage picture, but television’s camera moves in and among (the performers) in many ways, especially with what our television director is doing. So I’m doing Edna, but I’m doing her in a threedimensional space, which is a lot of fun and a much different challenge.
“The camera can come right in to your face, so you’re not giving a performance that has to reach 2,000 people. I think
this Broadway on TV thing is very exciting. It’s bringing a new audience to theater. I think it’s going to be part of the next golden age of theater.”
Although she was too young for the part when “Hairspray” opened on Broadway in 2002, Chenoweth admits she’s had her eye on the scenestealing role of Edna’s nemesis, former beauty queen Velma Von Tussle, for years, since the character has the show’s best comedy song, “Miss Baltimore Crabs.”
“Every time I listened to the album, I would think in terms of what I would do with that number, because it’s just so funny,” Chenoweth says. “So when they called and asked me, I went, ‘Yes!’ I’ve grown into it, I’m ready and I hope I’m going to kill it. I can tell you I’m going to give it my personal best, because with this role there’s so much comedy to be mined. (”Hairspray“ composer) Marc Shaiman
and I have been working on the number. I can’t say it’s been rewritten, but he’s rethought it a little for some of my gifts.
“I also know (choreographer) Jerry Mitchell has big plans for me and my body, so I am really scared, but I’m going to die trying.”
Chenoweth also is mindful that the most subversive thing about “Hairspray” isn’t that a main female character is played by a man in a dress, but that this comic story – set in racially segregated 1962 Baltimore – packs a powerful message of tolerance.
“I think it’s a perfect time for this show,” she says. “It’s important for us to be able to look at our history and remind ourselves that we can repeat it very easily. If we don’t stop and take stock when it comes to things like basic human love and remember what this country and our communities are built on, it would be a missed opportunity.”
TV QUERY: IS THAT REALLY MICHELLE DOCKERY SINGING ON
TNT’S
‘GOOD BEHAVIOR’?
Yes. “Downton Abbey” viewers know that Dockery has a lovely singing voice due to the Season 2 arc when the estate was in use as a convalescent home for wounded World War I soldiers. She was famously performing “If You Were the Only Girl in the World” for the household when her love interest Matthew (Dan Stevens) came home from the war.
Prior to that, Dockery was trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she graduated in 2004. She also performed for the 50th anniversary of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London
in 2009 and has also joined her “Downton” mom, Elizabeth McGovern, on stage with McGovern’s band Sadie & the Hotheads.
In a more somber performance, Dockery sang Peggy Lee’s 1937 ballad “The Folks Who Live on the Hill” at her fiance John Dineen’s funeral last December.
Dockery previously told The Sun, “People are saying I’m a jazz singer but I’m not really, I just sing,” she said. “It’s something I haven’t really had the time to explore yet, but I would love to. I love singing. I love music. At some point I will do more.”
Harvey Fierstein stars in “Hairspray Live!,” premiering Wednesday on NBC.

Thiessen entertains famous friends on ‘Christmas at Tiffani’s’
Tiffani Thiessen has always had an affinity for Christmas, so much so that she even loves it when decorations start going up after Halloween.
Yes, you will always find the “Saved by the Bell” and “Beverly Hills, 90210” actress with a smile on her face during the holidays, no matter whether she’s spending time with family or entertaining friends, a few of whom drop by for her new Cooking Channel special “Christmas at Tiffani’s,” airing Sunday, Dec. 4.
In the hourlong special, the host of the cablenet’s “Dinner at Tiffani’s” and her husband, fellow actor Brady Smith, roll out a spread of smoked turkey with crispy skin, cheesy au gratin potatoes, homemade boozy blood orange cranberry sauce and fresh-baked gruyere and thyme rolls. For dessert, it’s bourbon pecan pie with vanilla whipped cream and for cocktails, well, it wouldn’t be Christmas without champagne. Thiessen created the menu and prepared the meal, but she had to rely on a former castmate for advice on the bubbly.
“I actually called my good friend Jason Priestley ...,” she says of her former “90210” co-star, “because he’s such a huge wine and champagne connoisseur and is much more knowledgeable than I am. I actually had him tell me a couple of champagnes that we should serve and we ended up getting those.”
Along with Priestley and his wife, Naomi, Thiessen’s former “Saved” co-star Mark-Paul Gosselaar and wife Catriona will be taking part in festivities, as will her ex“White Collar” spouse Tim DeKay and his wife, Elisa. Thiessen says she cooks for family and friends all the time and has smoked all kinds of meats but never a turkey. For this, she brined the 15-pound bird in apple cider vinegar and water, then put it in her smoker for about 3 1/2 hours at between 200 and 220 degrees.
As it smokes, she says, the smell is amazing and since it’s cooking outside, there is very little mess to clean up – a big perk for any holiday host or hostess. And the results, she says, are spectacular.
“It was, I have to say, one of the most perfect turkeys I’ve ever done,” she says with a laugh, “so it was awesome. It was really beautiful.”

What book are you currently reading?
“Well, my own cookbook (laughs). I’ve been going through the first draft so I’ve been reading that and trying to finalize my recipes. So that’s really kind of what I’ve been reading lately.”
What did you have for dinner last night?
“Last night, I had leftover meatloaf and a salad.”
What is your next project?
“The cookbook ... that’s my next big project. It’s been my project for the last year and will be for the next probably nine months (laughs). I never knew that a cookbook took so much time. It’s a really long process.”
When was your last vacation, where and why?
“I took my daughter to the desert. We went apple picking first on our way down, which was super, super fun and ... spent the next day and a half down there, just literally the two of us. It was really fun.”

MISSY PEREGRYM
OF ‘HAWAII FIVE-0’ FRIDAY ON CBS
Ski resort staffers have fun and more at ‘Timber Creek Lodge’
They work hard, play hard and go the extra mile for their monied, thrill-seeking clientele. Occasionally the lines of professionalism blur as personal relationships develop and personalities clash.
They’re the high-energy staffers of a five-star luxury ski resort in Whistler, Canada, and they’re at the center of the action in the new unscripted series “Timber Creek Lodge.”
Premiering Monday, Dec. 5, on Bravo, the hourlong series follows 10 staffers and managers at the British Columbia resort as they cater to the whims of their high-class customers on duty and blow off steam off it. They consist of CEO Joey Gibbons; Lodge Manager Katy Boyd; Assistant Lodge Manager Jamie Murphy; VIP Mountain Hosts Mark Milburn, Cynthia Barker and Colston Villaneuva; chef Nikita Williams; Louise Robinson, the head of housekeeping; housekeeper/server Jenna Gillund and lodgehand Blake Dubler.
The opening episode sets the tone for the series, as management exhorts the staffers to party and have fun – with each other and the guests.
“They definitely recognize that it’s a tip-based industry,” explains Milburn, the senior of the mountain hosts, “so the more that you relate with the clientele, the higher your tips are going to be. And so yeah, you would have to do it within a responsible way, though. You know, if you’re getting up the next morning and the first thing you have to do is read avalanche conditions, you want to make sure that you’re sound of mind. You want to make sure that you’re present because people’s lives rest on you.”
With young, attractive staffers living in close quarters (each staffer has a roommate), privacy is at a premium and relationships and one-night stands are inevitable. In Monday’s premiere Milburn, a Vancouver-based model and adventurer, hooks up with Gillund, a blond former Dallas Mavericks cheerleader, after a night of dancing in full view of a TV camera, which Milburn says was like having “a peeping tom right there.”
“But to actually be truthfully intimate with someone on camera,” he says, “it does heighten the experience. You kind of realize that you’re not necessarily just sharing with this one other person, you’re sharing with so many (and) it does heighten the experience.”
Of course, things can go the other way as staffers lock horns and skirmishes occur. But mainly, this is a fun-based industry and these folks are among the lucky few who get paid to have fun – and share it with their customers.
“For me, the most fun part is definitely ... showing people new experiences they’ve never had,” Milburn says. “It’s watching people get out of the helicopter at the top of the mountain who have never been up there and just watching their eyes blow out of their head because it’s so beautiful. Or teaching a kid how to mountain bike who’s never really done it before. Or bungee-jumping with a client who’s been so scared of heights that this is such a huge thing to overcome their fear with.”
Graham Elliot of “Top Chef” on Bravo
“I do ‘Real Time With Bill Maher,’ I do ‘Game of Thrones,’ a lot of the news channels. You know aside from cooking, my favorite things are politics and history so ‘Meet the Press’ and all the other little Sunday morning shows and things like that.”
BY JAY BOBBIN
How was it to play Danny’s (Scott Caan) visiting sister in the Friday, Dec. 9, episode of “Hawaii Five-0”?
It was a really great experience, even just to play something where it’s not a procedural. I mean, the show is, but I didn’t have to do anything like that. I had a great time ... and it’s pretty hard to be upset about going to Hawaii! I’d never been in that area of it, so it was nice to explore, as much as I could.
Is there the possibility of your becoming a recurring guest star on the show, as such others as Carol Burnett and Christine Lahti have been?
I think it’s just a one-shot for now. I play a character who lives in New Jersey with her family, and (she and Danny) definitely get into a fight – as brothers and sisters do – for saying something they don’t want to be called on. Especially for my going on one episode only, we definitely have an emotional arc that happens, and that I really enjoyed playing. It was nice to go in and really have something to do.
From your time on “Rookie Blue” and other shows, you know how it is to be a regular cast member working with guest stars. How was it to be the guest star this time?
You know, it’s intimidating to go to a set that you’re not really a part of, and one that has been in movement for years. It was an all-new crew and all-new people, and I found them all very warm. Scott, in particular, came up to me immediately and made me feel comfortable. It just kind of set the tone to be able to talk and chat. Playing brother and sister is one of those tricky things. It means there should be a casual and easy flow between you, and I feel we were able to do that quickly. All of our emotional (scenes) happened as soon as we met. It’s always strange to do that, but because of how he was and how we were able to work together, it was really wonderful.
Talia Balsam of “Divorce” on HBO
“Actually, we’ve been doing a lot of Netflix. I started on ‘Rectify,’ which I think is great. I was a big fan ... of ‘Happy Valley.’ ... Oh, so good, and it’s an English show and it’s on Netflix and it’s only got two seasons and it’s fantastic. It’s one of my favorites. ... You know, ‘Black Mirror.’ ...”
Jennifer Nettles, seen recently on “CMA Country Christmas” on ABC and “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love” on NBC
“The only things I have appointment-television-wisewatched are ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Vikings.’ Men in skirts ... that’s the theme!”
Jihae of “Mars” on National Geographic
“I like ‘Mr. Robot’ and I’m checking out ‘Westworld.’ But I don’t like to get myself into that too much because it takes so much of your time.”

Jackson has upper hand for Heisman
When the winner of the 2016 Heisman Trophy is announced Saturday, Dec. 10 on ESPN, there will be a number of college football’s best players from this season eligible for the award. Many, however, expect that it will be Louisville Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson whose name will be called. Jackson, after all, has put up numbers that by the time the season is over could be one of the best by a college quarterback. Thus, he is the frontrunner for the Heisman.
The young sophomore (he’s only 19) has been nothing short of dazzling this season, and as a dual-threat quarterback has done as much damage to opposing defenses with his legs as he has with his arm. A four-star recruit out of high school in Florida, Jackson started in eight games as a freshman in 2015. He showed signs of future greatness when the Cardinals jumped all over Texas A&M in the Music City Bowl, putting up 20 points in the first quarter and earning Jackson the MVP honors.
This season he’s been brilliant right out of the gate, and by the time the Cards entered a Week 5 showdown with Clemson, all eyes were on Jackson. Despite losing by a score of 42-36 Jackson passed for 295 yards and ran for another 162 in one of college football’s most exciting games this season. Jackson is not a shoo-in for the Heisman, but he’s been piling up believers almost as much as he has offensive yardage.

“Shut Eye,” www.hulu. com/shut-eye
A con artist who runs a Los Angeles chain of phony psychic and fortune-teller shops develops real psychic abilities after a blow to the head in this promising new drama series from Les Bohem (“Taken,” “Extant”). Jeffrey Donovan (“Burn Notice”), KaDee Strickland (“Private Practice”), Emmanuelle Chriqui (“Entourage”) and Isabella Rossellini (“Blue Velvet”) also star in this drama that drops Wednesday.
For Lily Aldridge, “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” is one of the highlights of her year.
After all, where else can you model high-end lingerie, party with other models and enjoy all that Paris has to offer? Little wonder, then, why the 31-year-old Southern California native readies for this months in advance.
“You do a lot of working out, eating healthy – just the usual thing you do when you’re getting ready to walk in your underwear,” she says with a laugh.
This year’s show, which airs Monday, Dec. 5, on CBS, features an all-star lineup of runway stars, among them Aldridge, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Elsa Hosk and Taylor Hill, donning their angels wings and strutting their stuff in the City of Lights. Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and The Weeknd provide the musical entertainment, and Angel Jasmine Tookes will model the Bright Night Fantasy Bra.
Ah yes, the Fantasy Bra. This year’s edition, designed by Eddie Borgo and worth $3 million, is adorned with more than 9,000 precious gemstones and weighs more than 450 carats. A security detail follows the model who wears it.
Last year, that party was Aldridge, who recalls the experience as being beautiful and a huge honor.
“It was amazing. I wish I never had to give it back,” she says. “I was hoping someone would buy it for me for Christmas.”
This year, she’s a mere angel with wings and no prohibitively expensive undergarments. This is Aldridge’s eighth show and to her they just keep getting better and better.
“You get such an adrenaline rush, you can’t wait for the next year,” she says. “There’s no other feeling like it. I mean, I imagine performers get to feel like this being on stage but you feel so great when you walk off the stage.”

Eyewitness Ryan (Warren Christie) feigns courting Camilla (Tattiawna Jones) in a calculated attempt to get close to Lukas (James Paxton) in a new episode called “The Larsons’ Dog.”

MONDAY
7 p.m. on KOKI
Showtime at the Apollo
A series that showcased many stars of music and comedy gets a reboot in this new special, featuring Steve Harvey as host. He doesn’t come to the job casually, since New York’s legendary Apollo Theater was the site where he began his own career. Part of the program salutes Amateur Night at the Apollo, which launched several icons and remains a weekly attraction at the showplace. Guest performers include Tracy Morgan, Mike Epps, Gabriel Iglesias and En Vogue.
7 p.m. on HBO
Movie: The Trans List

Interviewees include Kylar Broadus, who made history as the first person to testify before the U.S. Senate; British model Caroline Cossey; and U.S. Army Sgt. Shane Ortega, whose military entry form still lists him as female yet is recognized as male by his Army peers.
8 p.m. on VH1 Divas Holiday: Unsilent Night
After a hiatus of four years, this channel’s erstwhile programming staple “VH1 Divas” — which celebrates both established music superstars and breakout performers just now achieving fame — returns with this tuneful holiday special, in which Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle and Teyana Taylor perform songs of the season from Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, N.Y.
9 p.m. on KOTV
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
The City of Light is the site of this annual special for the first time, as Paris welcomes the lingerie firm’s “Angels.” Among them: Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, Jasmine Tookes (who wears the Bright Night Fantasy Bra, valued at $3 million), Taylor Hill, Martha Hunt and Stella Maxwell. Karlie Kloss and siblings Bella and Gigi Hadid also are slated to appear. The music lineup is impressive, too — Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and The Weeknd.
TUESDAY
8 p.m. on KJRH
This Is Us Guest star Gerald McRaney returns as “Dr. K,” who delivered Rebecca and Jack’s (Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia) babies, in the new episode “Last Christmas.” The couple repays the compassion he showed them as young Kate goes to the hospital on Christmas Eve with a case of appendicitis. Medical
matters also play a role in Kate’s (Chrissy Metz) life in the present.
8:30 p.m. on KTUL
The Real O’Neals
Kenny (Noah Galvin) initially doesn’t want to be on Jimmy’s (Matt Shively) wrestling team, even temporarily, but his tune changes in the new episode “The Real Match.” Jimmy then resents his brother’s new popularity as a school athlete, until a member of a rival team refuses to compete against Kenny. Eileen (Martha Plimpton) tries to score points with VP Murray (guest star Matt Oberg) by tending to an injured Pat (Jay R. Ferguson).
9:02 p.m. on LIFE Knocked Up
As its title suggests, this new unscripted series follows three single women — Akiitha, Katie and Audra — who are leading generally carefree lives and enjoying an upswing in their careers when those same lives are turned inside out by an unexpected pregnancy following a single unguarded night of fun. Faced with differing reactions from friends and family members and totally unprepared for motherhood right now, these women are forced to rethink where and how they live and how best to cope with the father’s involvement in (or indifference to) this situation.
WEDNESDAY
7 p.m. on KJRH Hairspray Live!
Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron continue their annual tradition of staging a live musical with the hit show based on John Waters’ purposely kitschy movie. The cast is filled with performing veterans including Kristin Chenoweth, Jennifer Hudson, Harvey Fierstein and Martin Short — but newcomer Maddie Baillio gets the central role of Tracy Turnblad, a teen who attains her dream of dancing on a 1960s Baltimore television show, then lobbies to integrate it.
8 p.m. on KOKI Empire
Tiana (Serayah) is targeted by Andre (Trai Byers), who wants Nessa (guest star Sierra A. McClain) to have the attention, during a fashion event in the new episode “The Unkindest Cut.” Tariq and Leah (Morocco Omari, guest star Leslie Uggams) join forces against Lucious. Philip (guest star Juan Antonio) tries to help Jamal (Jussie Smollett). Phylicia Rashad continues her
guest role, and Gina Gershon also guest stars.
9 p.m. on KTUL Designated Survivor Shades of a certain, quite famous real-life situation are present in the new episode “The Blueprint,” as President Kirkman’s (Kiefer Sutherland) search for the person behind a cyber-leak of classified government information finds the perpetrator protected at a foreign embassy. Hannah (Maggie Q) races the clock to prove MacLeish’s (Ashley Zukerman) complicity in the U.S. Capitol bombing before he becomes the new Vice President.
THURSDAY
7 p.m. on KOKI Taraji’s White Hot Holidays She doesn’t have fellow “Empire” star Terrence Howard with her this time, but Taraji P. Henson holds forth with the second annual edition of this seasonal variety special. She’s certainly not alone, since the guest lineup includes fellow “Empire” veterans Jussie Smollett and Taye Diggs, plus a very musical lineup featuring Pharrell Williams, Missy Elliott, Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg, Run-DMC’s Darryl McDaniels and TLC. Tyler Perry and Terry Crews also appear.
7:30 p.m. on KTUL Shrek the Halls
What’s not to love about a Christmas special starring a family of green ogres, especially one that already was popularized by a couple of hit movies when this debuted in 2007? Shrek (voice of Mike Myers) isn’t a Christmas kind of guy, but Princess Fiona (voice of Cameron Diaz) loves the holiday, so he goes along — with a little help from Donkey (voice of Eddie Murphy) and the rest of the fairy-tale gang. Antonio Banderas is heard again as Puss in Boots.
8 p.m. on HIST Alone
In its third season of 10 episodes, this physically and psychologically grueling reality competition series places 10 hardcore survivalists in Patagonia, Argentina, a cold and remote region in which they have one objective: staying alive. That means confronting dangerous and unfamiliar predators, building their own shelters and finding adequate food and water. This season premiere episode is immediately preceded with a casting special introducing the hardy souls undertaking this challenge.
8:01 p.m. on KOTV Mom
Though this series falls under the category “comedy,” it has earned acclaim for its serious handling of certain issues, an approach borne out again by the new episode “Cornbread and a Cashmere Onesie.” Jill (Jaime Pressly) is distraught on the anniversary of the day her mother committed suicide, prompting Christy and Bonnie (Anna Faris, Allison Janney) to try to help her through it.
9:03 p.m. on HIST
The Selection: Special Operations Experiment
In this new reality series from Peter Berg (“Friday Night Lights”), 30 men and women with no military background submit to an immersive and authentic experience overseen by U.S. Special Operations combat veterans. The extreme training these participants will undergo includes interrogation simulations and tear gas exposure. It’s a journey of self-discovery for the participants, not a competition for a big prize.
FRIDAY
7 p.m. on KOKI Hell’s Kitchen
Quick! Name that baby food! That’s the challenge the remaining contestants face in a blind taste test in the new episode “Spoon Fed.” The winners get relaxing massages, while the others have to haul ice bags and wine boxes into the kitchen. The dinner service features Josh McDermitt (“The Walking Dead”) and Jeannie Mai (“The Real”) as guests, but it finds both teams hitting snags — to the expected displeasure of Chef Gordon Ramsay.
7 p.m. on KOTV
MacGyver
John Heard (“Home Alone”) guest stars as MacGyver’s (Lucas Till) favorite science teacher, but their reunion is impacted by the kidnapping of the educator’s top current student (guest star Amiah Miller) in the new episode “Pliers.” Of course, that title indicates one of the tools the hero has at his disposal in attempting a rescue, along with speaker wire. Jeremy London also guest stars. George Eads, Justin Hires and Sandrine Holt also star.
8 p.m. on SHOW
Madonna: Rebel Heart Tour
Longtime associates of the Material Girl, co-directors Danny B. Tull and Nathan Rissman followed the electrifying (and often polarizing) entertainer around the world, gathering a collection of live performance and behind-the-scenes footage for this new concert film that culminates at the Sydney Olympic Park in Australia last March. The set list spans the music icon’s decades-long career, including “Living for Love,” “Like a Prayer,” “Material Girl” and “Lucky Star.”
9 p.m. on KOED Hitmakers
What has the digital era meant for the music business? The answer depends on who’s giving it, and how well that person has been able to adapt to changes brought by technology. This special offers comments from Melissa Etheridge, Lorde, Questlove, Sharon Jones and music producer and DJ Steve Aoki on what the respective impacts have been on them. The program also features performances by Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars.
SATURDAY
7 p.m. on KTUL Movie: Mary Poppins
Julie Andrews received an Oscar for her portrayal of the practically perfect nanny who arrives mysteriously on the doorstep of the Banks household. She loosens up the stiff family with her magical charm. The charming 1964 Disney musical — whose not totally smooth backstory was told in “Saving Mr. Banks” — features such well-known songs as “A Spoonful of Sugar” and “Chim Chim Cher-ee.” Dick Van Dyke and Ed Wynn also star.
7 p.m. on HALL Movie: A Nutcracker Christmas
As a young woman, Lilly James (Amy Acker) was obsessed with ballet and seemed headed for a major dance career when her dreams were dashed by a family tragedy and a personal betrayal. Now, years later, Amy has vowed never to dance again, but when her adored niece (Sophia Lucia, “Dance Moms”) snags a dream role in a local production of “The Nutcracker,” Lilly must confront her past and a few painful truths in this new 2016 holiday drama.
8 p.m. on STARZ Movie: The Family Fang Jason Bateman directed and stars in this edgy 2015 American dramedy about a pair of adult siblings (Nicole Kidman, Bateman) who drop everything when their eccentric parents (Christopher Walken, Maryann Plunkett) inexplicably disappear. Complicating the situation: Mom and Dad are performance artists who are famous for their hoaxes, some of them quite elaborate. David Lindsay-Abaire, who previously penned the screenplay for Kidman’s “Rabbit Hole,” adapted this screenplay from Kevin Wilson’s 2011 novel.

Late Night with Seth Meyers
In an interview last night with MSNBC, Donald Trump’s running mate Mike Pence accidentally referred President Obama and Donald Trump met at the White House today, where they discussed foreign and domestic policy. You know, things like which one is which.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
While President Obama met with Donald Trump, Michelle Obama met privately with Melania Trump. Michelle said, “It’s a pleasure to welcome you and Donald to the White House.” Melania said, “It is a pleasure to welcome you and Donald to the White House.”
There’s talk that Donald Trump may appoint Sarah Palin as secretary of the interior, which means she would oversee the National Park Service. When they heard that, bears were like, “Well, we had a good run.”
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert
Trump is now receiving the
classified daily intelligence briefing known as “the book,” making it the only book he owns that doesn’t have his picture on it. Today, the transfer of power began when President Obama hosted Trump at the White House for the most surprising remake of “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.”
The Late Late Show With James Corden
Today, Donald Trump headed to Washington to meet with President Barack Obama at the White House.
As his plane took off from New York, the fire department gave him a presidential sendoff by shooting water into the air. Now, apparently this is a tradition. I’m not really sure why they do this – all this did was remind us that we all needed to take a shower after this election.
Jimmy Kimmel Live
It was another interesting day in America today. The transfer of power has already begun at the White House this morning. President Obama sat down with Presidentelect Trump, but Trump did a funny thing. He came in and said, “You’re fired.”
This is the first time they met. They never met before. That must have been so strange. “Sasha, Malia, come down, meet the man who questioned Daddy’s citizenship for the last eight years.”
Conan O’Brien
Donald Trump will be the first U.S. president ever to have appeared in an ad for Pizza Hut. In fact, some pundits are predicting Trump will run in 2020 against Flo from Progressive.
