nearly eight years, 12 seasons, 75 episodes and eight specials, Canadian premium network Crave’s first-ever original series is calling it bud. “Letterkenny,” created by the series’ leading star, Jared Keeso lysium,” 2013), has made the tough decision to pack up the Puppers wing its 12th season, thus passing the torch to its hockey-driven series, Shoresy (also available on Hulu). Don’t miss the dry double loaded innuendo and small-town Canadian drama when “Letterkenpremieres its final season Tuesday, Dec. 26, on Hulu.

’s award-winning series was inspired by his own life growing the small town of Listowel, Ontario, and emerged from his own (now X) feed, titled “Listowel Problems.” In a 2016 interview, creator and actor told the Toronto Star, “What we do on ‘Letteris we just take the portrait of small-town life and exaggerate and embellish the [expletive] out of it.”

fictional town of Letterkenny, whose inhabitants “belong to three groups: the hicks, the skids and the hockey players” (per has become a staple TV visit for many households — even country town of Listowel has seen a bit of tourism since the show in 2016. Now adorned with 12 Canadian Screen Awards, “Letterkenny” prepares to take its final bow and leave the laughs up to its

“Shoresy,” which also stars Keeso

oining Keeso, who returns to his role as Wayne (and possibly in anothcameo as Shoresy if fans are lucky), are fellow regulars Michellle Mylett Nathan Dales (“Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City,” 2021) yl and K. Trevor Wilson (“Mr. Viral,” 2012) as Dan. Also likely to (but still unconfirmed as of writing) are Andrew Herr (“Upload”) onesy, Evan Stern (“The Void,” 2016) as Roald, Dylan Playfair (“Mr ockey: The Gordie Howe Story,” 2013) as Reilly and Tyler Johnston dds,” 2011) as Stewart. But as this is the series finale, it’s hard to which characters will return to bid farewell to viewers.

Bill Murray gets ‘Scrooged’ for another Christmas classic corner

Bill Murray in “Scrooged”

Christmas Carol” has been told in a lot of ways on the screen, but the 1988 comedy “Scrooged” remains one of the most unique variations, perfectly suited to star Murray’s persona, Directed by Richard Donner (“Letha; Weapon”), the picture currently is streaming on Paramount+, with Murray as a selfish and crass television ecutive who wants to stage a live holiday season telecast of – of all things – Charles ickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”

ust as Ebenezer Scrooge was, the TV bigwig is visited by several ghosts (David ohansen, Carol Kane, Robert Hansen) who try to inspire him to correct the errors of ways. The terrific cast also includes Karen Allen, John Forsythe, Robert Mitchum, Bobcat Goldthwait and Alfre Woodard. “Six Million Dollar Man” Lee Majors turns in a prelude that sets up the tone of the film perfectly.

While “Letterkenny” typically takes a quick-witted approach to slowlife events, it seems the writers have a lot cooked up for the final According to the official Hulu news release, there will be lots of in order as the local nightlife kicks into high gear eason 12, the small town contends with a comedy night at Modecountry music hit, the Degens’ bad influence, a new nightclub, and encore at the Ag Hall,” the writeup reads. “And that’s just for starters. ” final season of “Letterkenny” is, as usual, headed up by Keeso and his creative partner, Jacob Tierney (“Laurence Anyways,” 2012), who also works on “Shorsey” both behind the scenes and on-screen (he stars as the show’s more uppity recurring character, Glen, a character he has played in 42 episodes of the pair’s flagship series, as of writing).

As for the decision to end the show after more than 80 installments, Keeso says, “I think we’ve done everything that we can do on that show.”

“I’m always looking for something new and exciting to do with the characters, a new opportunity to develop them, to help the audience understand them just a little bit better,” Keeso added in the Crave news release. “It gets tough around the 50 mark, and it gets really tough around the 70 mark. I guess I decided at the 80 mark that that was it.”

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” (Freeform, Sunday, Dec. 24, and Monday, Dec. 25): In case you missed it on CBS earlier in the holiday season – or even if you didn’t – there are still a few more chances to catch one of the most beloved seasonal specials of all. The Rankin-Bass production company scored an immediate hit with its “Animagic” stop-motion-animation process as Burl Ives, in the guise of Sam the Snowman, narrated the story of Rudolph and how he overcame mocking (because of his famously glowing nose) by many of his peers to proudly guide Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve. The result remains as charming as when it originally was broadcast almost 60 years ago

“The Greatest Story Ever Told” (Sunday, Dec. 24, MGM+; Monday, Dec. 25, MGM+ Hits): Even if it wasn’t the box-office powerhouse that had been hoped for, director George Stevens’ 1965 biblical epic is a marvel to behold, based on its large and potent cast alone. Charlton Heston, Max von Sydow, Jose Ferrer, Telly Savalas, Claude Rains, Dorothy McGuire, Donald Pleasence, Roddy McDowall, Martin Landau and David McCallum are among those with principal roles – plus cameo appearances by John Wayne, Sidney Poitier, Angela Lansbury, Pat Boone, Shelley Winters, Sal Mineo and many more.

Fieri and friends cook up football-ready eats in ‘Guy’s Ranch Kitchen’

Make room at the table: an all-new episode of “Guy’s Ranch Kitchen” airs Saturday, Dec. 30, on Food Network.

Each episode, celebrity chef Guy Fieri (“Guy’s Grocery Games”) invites his friends and family — some of whom just so happen to be accomplished chefs — to his ranch kitchen, where together they share stories and prepare delicious dishes that prove perfect for watching football while partaking in a fun cook-off between friends.

Now airing its seventh season, “Guy’s Ranch Kitchen” welcomes chefs Nyesha Arrington (“Next Level Chef ”), Nate Appleman (“The Next Iron Chef ”), Shota Nakajima (“Top Chef ”), Jet Tila (“Kitchen Lab”), Jose Garces (“Iron Chef America”), Adam Sobel (“Chopped”), Lee Anne Wong (“Top Chef ”) and many others to meet at Guy’s ranch and make some mouth-watering, multicultural eats.

So far this season, Fieri has: enjoyed an international Thanksgiving, celebrated with chorizo clam toast, cacio e pepe potato casserole and turkey porchetta with fennel apple salad; turned up the heat to fend off the cold, with mango hibiscus margaritas, spicy shrimp with pork Szechuan wontons, parmesan habanero crusted ribeye and chicken tamales with mole; and readied himself for a farmto-table holiday, tasting pumpkin-tamarind soup with crispy curry leaves, Nana’s lemon broccoli with toasted pine nuts and morel mushroom toasts.

In upcoming episodes, Fieri gets a “little taste of everything,” says Food Network, as “chef Adam Sobel pours white peach and purple basil bellinis and treats Guy to his Tokyo-style hashbrowns and some strawberry coconut crème brûlée French toast. ”

Later on, Fieri welcomes “Tournament of Champions” competitor chef Mei Lin to craft fried mochi dumplings with pork and dried radish, opening his palate with a taste of okonomiyaki. To top the episode off, Food Network promises: “Chef Aarti Sequeira [“Aarti Party”] has Guy try savory tomato chaat pie and rolls up some rice and coconut crêpes with mango cardamom stuffing,” and “Chef Joe

bestof ...

“[please] pops mezquila palomas plating up prosciutto and mozzarella Neapolitan pizza and some charred cauliflower with chimichurri,” Food Network claims, serving up some brunch favorites alongside chefs Tiffani Faison (“Beachside Brawl”), Joe Sasto (“Outchef ’d”) and Justin Sutherland (“Fast Foodies”). Sundays might be for football — but Saturdays are for good food and good friends. Favorites join their friend Fieri on “Guy’s Ranch Kitchen,” airing new episodes Saturdays on Food Network.
