Juan Diego Botto stars in “Good Behavior,” premiering Tuesday on TNT.

BY GEORGE DICKIE
L etty Raines is trying to be the best person she can be.
As played by Michelle Dockery (“Downton Abbey”) on the stylish new TNT thriller “Good Behavior,” previewing Sunday, Nov. 13, before its official premiere two nights later, she’s a thief and con artist just out of prison on good behavior, trying to stay on the straight and narrow with the help of her parole officer Christian (Terry Kinney, “Show Me a Hero”).
But her tendency toward larceny isn’t her only problem. As an addict in recovery, she’s constantly distracting herself from the urge to drink or drug by playing messages of affirmation.
She’s trying to reunite with her 10-year-old
son Jacob (Nyles Julian Steele), who’s currently being raised by her mother Estelle (Lusia Strus, “Wayward Pines”), from whom she is estranged. But her old demons and larcenous habits make that difficult.
One day while robbing hotel rooms at a posh mountain resort, she overhears a hitman, Javier (Juan Diego Botto, “Ismael”), being hired to kill a man’s wife and she sets out to derail the job. That decision inexorably draws them together in a dangerous and seductive relationship.
And so the dance is on. Call it a love story with contract killings and parole meetings.
“It’s about these two sort of lone wolves who crash into each other, this thief and this hit man ...,” series co-creator
BY LINDSAY MACDONALD @ZAP2IT.COM

Chad Hodge explains to a recent gathering of journalists in Beverly Hills, Calif. “You know Letty’s certainly trying to be a better person, or whatever that means for her, and it’s really a totally f... up love story over the course of the first season. You follow this journey between these two people sort of redeeming each other, and that’s the arc of the first season.”
Making characters who do terrible things likeable can be tricky but both Botto and Dockery manage to bring humanity to their roles.
“Javier is a guy that kills people for money, but other than that, he’s a very nice guy,” Botto quips. “Seriously. He’s trying to be. ... His biggest contradiction is that, other than what he does for a living, he’s trying to be a

good guy. He has a very strong moral code and tries to abide by it. That contradiction is fascinating to play. For an actor, that’s a dream.”
Dockery feels similarly about her character.
“They’re the best of characters to play,” the actress says. “I don’t think they need to be likeable to like them in that sense. You know what I mean? I think they’re some of the best characters that don’t always behave well. I mean, the relationship between them is so interesting, and it is ... a messed up love story and a very unconventional love story, and they recognize so much in one another. I mean, in some ways, it’s like a meeting of minds because they are so similar in many ways.”
As it always tends to go with “Quantico,” airing Sundays on ABC, every week gives us a solid reason to doubt a new set of characters. We’re keeping Dayana (Pearl Thusi) and Leah (Helene Yorke) at the top of our list.
Whatever is going on between Owen (Blair Underwood) and Lydia (Tracy Ifeachor), they’re certainly working counter to Matthew Keyes (Henry Czerny). It’s too soon to tell whether that means they’re part of the AIC or if Keyes is, though.
What’s more than clear, however, is that Leigh is mixed up in this plot in ways that can only be bad news for Alex (Priyanka Chopra) and Ryan (Jake McLaughlin). The bug they found in Alex’s room last week belongs to none other than the hyper-focused soccer mom, Leigh Davis. We even got to see a peek of her listening in on their conversation and now we’re pretty sure she’s pure evil.
Besides the fact that no one that obsessively organized (not to mention arrogant) could possibly be a good guy, we can’t come up with any reason why she should be spying on her fellow recruits. Let alone the recruit known to be a former FBI agent.
Leigh is definitely on our list of terrorist suspects, and we’ll be keeping a sharp eye on her from now on.
The other person who pinged our radar is Dayana. From the first moment we met her, Dayana has seemed uncertain about joining the CIA. She’s reluctant to leave her old life as a litigator behind, and she’s spent most of her time at the farm near the bottom of the murder board. Normally, she would be the last person we’d suspect to be secretly recruiting members into the AIC.
That’s why she’s rocketed to the top of our list.
She’s been spending a little too much time cozying up to León (Aaron Diaz), who is at the top of the murder board. What better cover to use to lure an elite agent into a CIA faction than a harmless, struggling recruit? Dayana is immediately disregarded by most of the class, and she comes off about as non-threatening as a snuggly kitten. That sounds to us like the perfect mask to use when you’re trying to accrue secrets and assess the weaknesses of a new class of CIA agents.
Whoever is working for the terrorists inside the financial district, at least we now know Shelby (Johanna Brady) has pegged Miranda as a mole.
If she and Alex can somehow manage to work together to counter Miranda’s moves on the outside, then that realization might finally change the game.

Anyone looking for some time- and hasslesaving tips for Thanksgiving dinner would do well to check out a new special airing this week on Cooking Channel.
In “Tia Mowry Thanksgiving Special,” airing Sunday, Nov. 13, the actress, working mom and home chef invites viewers into her home with family and friends to share favorite holiday recipes, entertaining tips and more.
And for her, it’s all about preparation.
“It’s all about finding meals that you can prep ahead of time and that’s exactly what I did for this special,” she says. “One in particular, the turkey. So the turkey, a lot of people are intimidated by the turkey. They’re like ‘Oh my gosh! I don’t think I could do it.’ But my goal is – and especially for this special – is to show people that yes, you can tackle the bird.”
And for Mowry, the first step is brining – immersing the turkey in a solution of water, salt, sugar and herbs for 24 hours – a process she says produces “a really nice, juicy and flavorful turkey.”
After that, she lets the bird sit for another 12 hours. Then it’s into the oil-less air fryer it goes, covered in peanut oil and creole seasoning. After it cooks for two to three hours, depending on size, it’s done.
“What it is is infrared heat that is used to circulate around the turkey, and so it’s cooking evenly,” she explains. “It’s giving it a nice, crispy skin and it’s also keeping it really nice and juicy. And there’s no mess. There’s no oil. There’s no clean-up. It’s crazy how easy this is.”
To go with the bird, she prepares stuffing in little pumpkins, which can be discarded after the meal. The flower arrangements are premade and then refrigerated. And for dessert, it’s pumpkin pecan pies in little jars.
The idea is to cook with as few pots as possible, make clean-up easy and thus free the chef from the kitchen.
“When I first started cooking Thanksgiving (dinner) for my family ... I would cook things in different pots and then I was left doing the dishes for three hours,” she says with a laugh. “Nobody wants to do that.”

What book are you currently reading?
“The book that I’m currently reading is the book that I read to my son every single night (laughs). I read to my son every single night and that book is the kids’ National Geographic book for sharks. And so I read that to him every single night and so I’m learning about sharks.”
What did you have for dinner last night?
“Every single time I come into New York, whether I have someone with me, whether it’s my husband or friend or if I’m by myself, I go to this restaurant called Ippudo and it’s basically a Japanese ramen restaurant. So what I had was I had ramen and then I had these amazing fried chicken glazed sticky buns from Ippudo. It’s so incredibly good.”
What is your next project?
“I’m going to be working on (her regular Cooking Channel series ) ‘Tia Mowry at Home,’ so I’m going to be going into production for that. I’m going to be going into my third season and I’m really excited.”
When was your last vacation, where and why?

If you’re a music lover and at all interested in how it gets made, then “Soundbreaking” is required viewing.
Premiering Monday, Nov. 14, and airing weeknights through Nov. 23 on PBS (check local listings), the eight-part, eighthour series explores the impact of recorded music on the modern world, combining rare archival footage with interviews with celebrated artists, producers and innovators from across the musical spectrum.
BY GEORGE DICKIE

The list of the more than 150 interviewees reads like a who’s who of popular music: recording artists Paul McCartney, Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Roger Daltrey, RZA, Tom Petty, B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, Roger Waters and Ringo Starr; and producers Quincy Jones, Rick Rubin, Linda Perry, Don Was, Peter Asher and Hank Shocklee. And the episodes are replete with stories of how careers got made and rescued, how songs were crafted and how personalities meshed – or not.
Music makers tell tales and talk shop on PBS’ fascinating ‘Soundbreaking’

The series was a passion project for Sir George Martin, the famed Beatles producer who served as executive producer of the project before his death this past March.
Monday’s opening episode, “The Recording Artist,” focuses on the mysterious role of the record producer, who it seems is equal parts technical whiz, psychologist, protector, mentor and mother.
“In the first hour of the series, George’s vision was to really explore how technology has transformed the sound of popular music,” series producer/director Jeff Dupre explained to a recent gathering of journalists in Beverly Hills, Calif., “and when we were trying to figure out how to organize the series thematically, we were like, ‘Let’s start with the dramatist personae, the people and these human relationships that are at the heart of so many great recordings.’
“We felt like, in order to really understand that, we had to have some great contrast between different producers,” he continues. So, you know, George Martin’s approach to the Beatles was almost Socratic in that he enabled them to, sort of, realize their best selves as artists. And then you contrast that with someone like Phil Spector who, sort of, has this dictatorial vision of what he wants. And, of course, the result is brilliant, but it’s a very different relationship with the artist.“
And Asher, a record producer and half of the 1960s pop duo Peter and Gordon, can certainly speak to that relationship from both sides.
“Not much is known about what record producers do, including us,” he says. “In other words, we don’t know because the interesting thing about all of this is we don’t know what each other do. We don’t get to watch each other in the studio. We are like everyone else. We get to hear the results and kind of go, ‘Wow, that sounds cool. How did they do that?’ And, eventually, maybe we figure it out.”
“And what surprised me, watching (the series), was how much it turns out we do have in common, certain themes that we all talked about: making the artist comfortable in the studio, stopping people from doing a million vocals when they have already done a great one live at the beginning. There’s a lot of areas where we find ourselves in agreement without any kind of collaboration because, unlike musicians, producers don’t get to work together.”

You’ve had successes such as “Friends” and “Episodes,” and projects that weren’t as successful, such as “Joey.” What were the factors you were seeking in “Man With a Plan”?
We’ve had a lot of discussions about what this was going to be, and I like the idea of doing it. I like to work. They can’t all be hits. “Joey” was what “Joey” was, but there was a lot of pressure on that. We can leave that alone, but you know, this is a new thing. This is a new character for me.
You’ve been associated with networks other than CBS. How is it for you to be working for that network now?
CBS is kind of a new place for me. I mean, working with Les (Moonves, the network’s chief) ... Les developed “Friends” a long time ago (as an executive at Warner Bros. Television), so it’s great to work with him again indirectly. For me, it’s nice that the network seems to be behind the show, and I’m really proud of that. I’m really proud of the writing the Filgos (series creators and executive producers Jeff and Jackie Filgo) are doing, and I’m proud of our cast. I think we have a good group, and I’m happy to be a part of it.
How different is it for you to come back to broadcast television after doing “Episodes” for Showtime? You just have to be a little more clever in how you do things. There’s a different set of rules, and you just have to adhere to those. On cable television, those rules are a little looser, but you can still tell stories. You just have to be creative with the language. It’s almost a bigger challenge to swear without swearing than it is to actually swear – not that that’s my goal.

Vincent Rodriguez III of “Crazy Ex- Girlfriend” on The CW “ ‘Modern Family,’ ‘Bob’s Burgers,’ ‘Family Guy,’ ‘The Real O’Neals,’ ‘Veep,’ ‘Silicon Valley.’ Yeah, those are the freshest ones I have in my noggin.”

Jill Wagner of “Christmas Cookies” on Hallmark Channel: “The only time I turn on my TV is when my fiance is not around, and I did that recently and thought, ‘There’s so much stuff here! I don’t even know where to start.’ I watched back-to-back episodes of ‘The Voice,’ and one that I’m really excited to watch is ‘Divorce’ with Sarah Jessica Parker. And I love comedy, so I watched the (presidential) debates. And that’s basically it.“
Lidia Bastianich of “Lidia’s Kitchen” on PBS
“(Laughs) I don’t watch much television. I do like documentaries, so if there is a documentary ... . I do like classical music so I will do that. But you know, my grandchildren also record it for me and then we watch it together. ... But I don’t have those regular soap opera kind of things. I don’t watch that.”

FULL NAME: Gregory Mario Ward Jr. BORN: July 12, 1995
BIRTHPLACE: Tyler, Texas
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5-foot, 11-inches/190pounds
TEAM: Houston Cougars POSITION: Quarterback HONORS & ACHIEVEMENTS: AAC Championship MVP, 2015; Peach Bowl offensive MVP, 2015
Before the Houston Cougars lost to Navy in early October, they were at times the talk of college football. Much of that talk has centered around senior quarterback Greg Ward Jr. Airing Thursday, Nov. 17, on ESPN, Ward and the Cougars will have their hands full when they host the Louisville Cardinals and quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is a Heisman Trophy candidate.
This will be a big game for Houston and for Ward who could be on the NFL draft boards come spring. He’s got a lot of minutes on the football field under his belt. A true freshman in 2013, he saw action as both a quarterback and wide receiver. Halfway through his sophomore year he was named the Cougars’ starting quarterback. In 2015, he led Houston to the American Athletic Conference championship and to an eventual Peach Bowl victory over Florida state, in which he was named offensive player of the game.
Houston came on strong, bursting third-ranked Oklahoma’s bubble to start the season. They were ranked sixth in the country and were being watched as a potential College Football Playoff contender, even though they play in a non-Power 5 conference. But a Week 6 loss to Navy has clouded the picture not only for the CFP but also the for AAC West, where they’ll have to overcome Navy just to make it back to the conference championship game. Getting past the Cardinals and Jackson will be no easy task, but if Houston does prevail, they’ll at least be back in the discussion.

C h e c k i n g i n w i t h Checking in with

BY JAY BOBBIN

It took a while for Mandy Moore to land a non-animated primetime series, but the wait definitely has proven to be worth it for her.
After several unsold pilots and guest arcs on such shows as “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Red Band Society,” the singer-actress is delighted with her place on one of this season’s top new hits, NBC’s Tuesday drama “This Is Us.” With a structure that shifts the timeline as she plays Rebecca – mother to “The Big Three,” who include a black youngster adopted after she and then-husband Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) lost one of their own babies in childbirth – the ever-pleasant Moore is enjoying the emotional and sometimes physical challenges built into the role.
“I’ve never been here before,” she admits of the reception to the show by critics and viewers alike, “so I’m just very appreciative. I think we all are. I think we knew that this was a special project, regardless of whether it moved forward or not ... that it was something we’d be proud of at the end of the day. And beyond that, everything was out of our control.”
From the start, Moore was “aware-ish” – as she puts it – of what the arc of Rebecca would be, though the “This Is Us” audience has come to anticipate surprises.
“There’s a rough outline of what’s going to be happening in each episode,” Moore explains, “but I think it was more a trajectory for us to know the milestone moments and experiences. They obviously inform our characters, and they affect (fellow ‘This Is Us’ stars) Justin (Hartley) and Chrissy (Metz) and Sterling (K. Brown) as well. They need to know what happened in their (characters’) childhoods, because that’s obviously going to carry into their adult lives.”
The result has Moore “thrilled,” she maintains, “because I feel like I’m an actor in this part. This opportunity has allowed me so many places to go and to be able to dig in ... as a woman, as a wife, as a mother. It feels pretty limitless.”

Favorite television series you’re not on: “I couldn’t be on this, but I love ‘Last Week Tonight With John Oliver.’ I’m a big current-events and politics junkie.”
Favorite singer: “It definitely wouldn’t be me! I’m probably going to go with Bette Midler. There’s the ‘Beaches’ love there, but she’s one of my all-time favorite performers. Growing up, that’s who I wanted to be; I didn’t want to be Madonna, I wanted to be Bette. She does Broadway and does movies and has a recording career ... and we don’t know much about her personal life, and I admire that.”
“Lovesick: Season 2,” www.netflix.com/ title/80041601
Season 2 of this romantic comedy — which went under a much racier title in its inaugural season — drops Thursday with eight episodes and finds chlamydia-stricken Dylan (Johnny Flynn) reliving past encounters as he notifies all of his former sexual partners. Antonia Thomas and Daniel Ings are cast members also returning for the second season.
“Fear the Walking Dead: Passage,” www. amc.com/shows/fear-thewalking-dead-passage
The second season of this companion to the AMC cable series follows fearsome survivor Sierra (Kelsey Scott), who agrees to help injured Gabi (Mishel Prada) in exchange for a sanctuary from the apocalypse. Over the course of their harrowing journey, the women face many dangers and learn what they need to do to survive.
“Little Things,” www.youtube.com/ watch?vvsK02DRlbjU
From India comes this romantic comedy series follows a young Mumbai couple (Mithila Palkar, Dhruv Sehgal) who appreciate the little things in life instead of waiting for the big moments to happen. The stories are not about the beginning or the end of a relationship but rather the small, everyday moments that make up the core of every relationship.
“Colin Quinn: The New York Story,” www.netflix. com/title/80117534
The former “Saturday Night Live” veteran and Brooklyn native takes his stand-up act off Broadway to Manhattan’s Cherry Lane Theatre in this special directed by Jerry Seinfeld, in which he waxes nostalgic about his hometown and expounds on the history of New York and the people who shaped its personality. Drops Friday.

SUNDAY
7 p.m. on KOED
The Durrells in Corfu on Masterpiece
Several more members of the family arrive in the new “Episode 5,” led by the forceful Aunt Hermione (Barbara Flynn), who wants the other Durrells to go back to England with her. Louisa (Keeley Hawes) thinks she can change her mind by giving her a tour of the island, but what Hermione witnesses hardly has that result, forcing Louisa to dig in about the choice of location she’s made. Lawrence (Josh O’Connor) gets unsettling news. Milo Parker also stars.
7:30 p.m. on KOKI
Son of Zorn
A holiday comes early in the new episode “The Battle of Thanksgiving,” as an uninvited Zorn (voice of Jason Sudeikis) makes the scene for Edie’s (Cheryl Hines) meal. Her mother (guest star Jenny O’Hara) is among the guests, and Zorn is determined to show that he’s a changed man — er, animated figure. Alan (Johnny Pemberton) has his own agenda at work during the dinner. Sarah Koenig, of “Serial” fame, voices her cartoon likeness.
8 p.m. on KOTV Madam Secretary
Elizabeth (Tea Leoni) clashes with the Saudi ambassador over his government’s protection of someone who evidently bankrolled a U.S. coffee-shop bombing in the new episode “The Statement.” Matt (Geoffrey Arend) finds himself in a tough situation because of something he has in common with the accused bomber. Henry (Tim Daly) tries to give Dmitri (guest star Chris Petrovski) additional help.
MONDAY
7:30 p.m. on KOTV
Man With a Plan
Adam’s (Matt LeBlanc) decision to follow Don’s (Kevin Nealon) advice and clear out the
garage to make it a “man cave” has a problematic result in the new episode “Un-Dressed.”
Adam later fears that in the cleaning, he accidentally gave away one of Andi’s (Liza Snyder) most prized possessions. Diana Maria Riva, Jessica Chaffin and Matt Cook also star.
8 p.m. on KOTV
2 Broke Girls
Aiming to expand their dessertbar offerings, Max and Caroline (Kat Dennings, Beth Behrs) take a bartending class in the new episode “And the Sophie Doll.” The final exam proves especially challenging when Caroline has to take it alone, since Max develops chicken pox. To keep an eye on her newborn, Sophie (Jennifer Coolidge) uses a baby monitor that sports her own image. French Stewart (“3rd Rock From the Sun”) guest stars as the bartending instructor.
8:30 p.m. on KOTV
The Odd Couple
Dani (Yvette Nicole Brown) is thrilled to get a promotion, but she then has to find her own replacement to be Oscar’s (Matthew Perry) assistant in the new episode “Miss England.” Lesley Nicol (“Downton Abbey”) guest stars as a prime candidate for the job. Emily’s (Lindsay Sloane) longing for England prompts Felix (Thomas Lennon) to engineer a surprise for her. Basketball veteran Chris Bosh guest stars as himself. Wendell Pierce also stars.
TUESDAY
7 p.m. on KOKI Brooklyn Nine-Nine
A wedding looms in the new episode “Monster in the Closet,” as Rosa and Pimento (Stephanie Beatriz, guest star Jason Mantzoukas) rekindle their relationship big-time — taking it all the way to the altar. Amy (Melissa Fumero) orchestrates the nuptials, and though Pimento thinks finding his grandmother’s earrings for Rosa is the major concern, bigger ones may be in the offing. Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews and Chelsea Peretti also star.
7:30 p.m. on KTUL
American Housewife
Though she’s taken great pride in separating herself from the other housewives of Westport, Katie (Katy Mixon) reverses course in the new episode
“The Snub.” She has an ulterior motive, since she wants to score Anna-Kat (Julia Butters) an invitation to another young woman’s birthday party. Thus, Katie makes the unexpected moves of wearing attire similar
to that of the other women, and of going to the same yoga studio they do. Diedrich Bader also stars.
8 p.m. on TNT Good Behavior
Michelle Dockery became an international star playing wellbred yet headstrong Lady Mary Crawley on “Downton Abbey,” but the British actress does a full 180 in this new action thriller, which casts her as thief and ex-con Letty Raines. Just released from prison on good behavior, Letty wants to stay on the straight and narrow so she can reconnect with her 10-year-old son. Fate has other ideas, however. Terry Kinney and Juan Diego Botto also star. A second episode immediately follows.
7 p.m. on KOKI Lethal Weapon
A murder in the fashion world leads Riggs and Murtaugh (Clayne Crawford, Damon Wayans Sr.) into unexpected complications in the new episode “Fashion Police.” Their probe eventually merges with one being conducted by DEA agents. With Trish (Keesha Sharp) away with the children to survey colleges, Murtaugh has a tough time being left to his own inventions. Hilarie Burton (“White Collar”) guest stars. Kevin Rahm and Jordana Brewster also star.
8 p.m. on KOKI Empire
The company becomes the target of hacking, leading to reveals of messages that stir ill will among artists and the Lyons family, in the new episode “Chimes at Midnight.” Cookie and Angelo (Taraji P. Henson, guest star Taye Diggs) are the targets of Lucious’ (Terrence Howard) ongoing scheming. Jamal (Jussie Smollett) ends up in a complicated romance. Romeo Miller also guest stars. Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, Trai Byers and Gabourey Sidibe also star.

9 p.m. on KJRH Chicago P.D.
The apartment-building murder of an officer prompts the team to probe known enemies of the police in the new episode “A Shot Heard Round the World.” The killing of another cop soon afterward leads Voight (Jason Beghe) to focus his resources even more. Lindsay (Sophia Bush) gives Antonio (Jon Seda) her view of his career change. Several “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Med” regulars including Eamonn Walker, David Eigenberg and S. Epatha Merkerson guest star.
9:01 p.m. on A&E Wahlburgers
Those burger-making bros Mark, Donnie and Paul Wahlberg return, along with the rest of their clan, for a new season of family drama (and unintentional comedy). These new episodes take viewers behind the scenes of “Transformers: The Last Knight,” where Mark gets into on-set clashes with director Michael Bay — perhaps in part because Mark and co-star Josh Duhamel don Wahlburgers headgear while filming some scenes. Elsewhere, Paul will get a London tour from ’80s pop icon Rick Astley during the course of the season.
6 p.m. on TLC Unichef
This new one-hour special explores how three successful chefs in the culinary industry — Sandra Lee, Ming Tsai and Donatella Arpaia — found the recipe to delicious dishes and a pathway to philanthropy that compels them to give back to those people and causes that have played an important role in their lives and careers. The program highlights both those whose lives are being touched by these acts of kindness, as well as how the chefs have been changed by the experience of giving.
7 p.m. on KOKI Rosewood
The case of a murdered food-truck operator proves much more complicated than Rosewood and Villa (Morris Chestnut, Jaina Lee Ortiz) initially think in the new episode “Prosopagnosia and Parrot Fish,” especially when it hits close to home for them. They discover the victim had a past connection to Capt. Slade (Eddie Cibrian), opening up added questions and suspicions. Sam Huntington and Scottie Thompson guest star. Lorraine Toussaint also stars.

8 p.m. on KTUL Notorious
Convinced that Dana Hartman (guest star Melina Kanakaredes) could help her murderaccused daughter (guest star Haley Ramm) by going on Julia’s (Piper Perabo) show, Jake (Daniel Sunjata) tries to convince her to make the appearance in the new episode “Choice.” Past problems with host Louise Herrick (Kate Jennings Grant) could stand in the way. Max (guest star Adam Rayner) worries about Julia and Louise’s planned trek to interview a Mexican drug lord.
FRIDAY
7 p.m. on KOKI Hell’s Kitchen Having been thrown by Chef Gordon Ramsay’s course correction for them, the remaining cooks try to work together successfully in the new episode “Dancing With the Chefs.” That title has real significance, since they’re tasked with preparing the edibles for the International Ballroom Invitational. Those who meet the assignment then get to have kayaking fun in the Pacific Ocean, while those who don’t are stuck with duties that are downright fishy.
7:31 p.m. on KTUL Dr. Ken
A family trip to visit Allison’s (Suzy Nakamura) parents might seem like a good idea at the time, but Ken’s (Ken Jeong) concerns about making the journey prove founded in the new episode “Allison’s Thanksgiving Meltdown.” A meltdown is precisely what she has when a traffic jam delays their arrival — and when a long time in the car together proves too much for her. Clark (Jonathan Slavin) is overly commandeering in overseeing a holiday meal for the homeless.
8 p.m. on KOTV Hawaii Five-0
As the 53rd anniversary of the tragedy nears, the new episode “Elua la ma Nowemapa” (Hawaiian for “Two Days in November”) incorporates the assassination of John F. Kennedy into its plot. A conspiracy
theorist purports that members of the then-chief executive’s Cabinet were in on the plot, prompting McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and his team to delve into history and launch a new probe. Andrew Lawrence and Matt Battaglia guest star. Scott Caan also stars.
7 p.m. on KJRH
Movie: Free Birds
Two turkeys (voices of Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson) try to prevent others of their kind from becoming the main courses of many Thanksgiving dinners in this animated, moderately entertaining 2013 comedy. They travel back to the time when settlers first established the course — and courses — of the traditional holiday meal, hoping to change that history. Amy Poehler, Keith David, “Star Trek” icon George Takei and director Jimmy Hayward also supply voices.
8 p.m. on A&E
The Killing Season Family lawyer John Ray gives Rachel and Josh confidential testimony implicating a local doctor in the murder of escort Shannan Gilbert in the new episode “Danse Macabre.” Suspecting that Gilbert’s death is connected with four corpses found at Gilgo Beach, the pair return to Oak Beach, where one family is ready to speak out, despite threats from several other local residents. Rumors also surface that the Gilgo Beach murders are linked to a serial murder case in Atlantic City.
9 p.m. on OWN Oprah: Where Are They Now?
A new episode finds Oprah Winfrey catching up with vocalist Sisquo (“Thong Song”) and, at the Grand Ole Opry, with Billy Ray Cyrus, who is chiefly known to a sizable demographic these days as Miley Cyrus’ father. Other segments include updates from Joseph Marcell, who played Geoffrey Butler on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” and actress Danielle Spencer (“What’s Happening”). Also: the first black female prisoner of war.

The Tonight Show
Starring Jimmy Fallon
I want to say congratulations to the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians, who are set to play each other in the World Series! Or as voters put it, “Finally — a crazy match-up we can actually ENJOY!” The Cubs are going to the World Series for the first time in 71 years! And if you remember the last time the Cubs were in the World Series, congratulations on staying up this late.
One of the big stories about the Cubs is the so-called “Curse of the Billy Goat,” which occurred back in the ‘40s when they turned a fan and his pet goat away because goats aren’t allowed in the ballpark. Or as hot dog vendors put it, “That’s what YOU think.”
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert
Every day, we get another revelation about Clinton from WikiLeaks. Any more, and we’re going to need WikiDepends. The latest is a list of the vice presidents Hillary Clinton was considering. It includes political superstars like Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack. Also in this WikiLeaks-released list are business leaders like Apple CEO Tim Cook and Starbucks CEO
Howard Schultz. Apparently, Hillary decided against Schultz because the race already had one pumpkin-spiced candidate.
Yesterday Trump’s devoted wife Melania gave an interview to Anderson Cooper where she defended Donald, saying that Billy Bush basically manipulated her husband into saying those things. Because if there’s one thing we know about Donald Trump, he usually does exactly what people tell him to do.
Melania was standing by her husband. Well, actually she stands behind him. Otherwise he’ll try to grab her you-know-where.
We have a superhero on the show — Benedict Cumberbatch is with us. He stars in the new Marvel movie “Dr. Strange.” It’s the story of a former neurosurgeon who gets drawn into a bizarre world he knows little to nothing about. It’s based on the life of Dr. Ben Carson.
Last night from Las Vegas, “Trump vs. Clinton 3” — and just like that, we’re one step closer to never having to watch cable news again. It was the third most watched debate in history. More than 71 million people watched/screamed at their TV.
Over the weekend in Gettysburg, Donald Trump told a crowd that as soon as the election ends he will sue the women accusing him of sexual misconduct. It’s being called “the second greatest Gettysburg Address in history.”
On Friday, a cyber-attack shut down Amazon, CNN, and Twitter.
