The Jack and Jill Day Celebration and Carole Robertson Ceremony is a national celebration of Jack and Jill every September as established in 1948 under the direction of Dorothy Wright – our first National President – to focus on the family. Mothers, fathers, teens, and children from Groups 1 through Group 5 enjoy this event.
Group 4 told the story of Carole Robertson and provided the meaning of what it meant to them based on their lives today.
A Forest recreation center with zip-line trails, climbing platforms & elevated bridges for all levels.
Group 4 Moms and children enjoyed this event. Children will learn about the importance of outdoor safety, exercise and Team Building. The Team building activity will enable children to think and learn how to work together as a team in order to accomplish a goal.
Thrusts: recreational, and social thrusts.
JNJ Day covers
educational, recreational,
and social thrusts. Planting trees in Detroit to target stormwater runoffs soil contamination, air quality and deforestation due to the Emerald ash Borer.


Group 4 Moms and children will be plating trees and learning the importance and benefits of tree planting.
Children will also learn how trees contribute to human life and the environment.
This activity will also serve as a community service activity for the actual planting!
Thrusts: recreational, social, educational and community service thrusts
Our children will learn the social skills necessary to face everyday situations with grace, integrity, and confidence. The course will prepare them to navigate a formal dining setting, properly order from a menu and other appropriate etiquette for an upscale dining experience. Table manners, business lunch skills. proper attire, what to wear- when.
Group 4 Moms and children will participate in the event by celebrating out to eat with family.

In support of MLK day (day of service) our families coming together to serve others in the community who are disadvantaged and in need.
This activity will teach children the importance of money management and heighten awareness of financial literacy and leadership.
Thrusts: educational, financial modules and leadership.
Children will participate in the chapter wide event for community service, Group 4 children will do a presentation on “I HAVE A DREAM” speech explaining how it is relevant still today! This activity will help with leadership, presenting and speaking to an audience. Thrusts: Civic and Legislative.

Jacks and Jills will have the opportunity to see a medical facility and labs.

Group 4 children will be able to ask medical questions and participate in lab activities focusing on heart, dental and hygiene health.
Thrust: educational and health
Building and sustaining the awareness and importance of STEAM in a round robin activity. Jacks and Jills will participate in rotation station that will cover activities associated with science, technology, and math.
At the end of the STEAM dating each child will discuss what they learned and what activity they found most interesting and how does STEAM show up in their everyday life.
Thrusts: educational and social thrusts with a focus in STEAM.

In support of Black Family Day. Groups 1-5 will come together and celebrate our families with recognizing the purpose of Jack and Jill.
Group 4 will Jack and Jills will participate in escape rooms to strengthen team building while having fun and getting to know each other better.
Group 4 children will participate in this activity to learning leadership skills and critical thinking.
This activity will cover educational and cultural thrusts.
