Where? Three Cedars Farm, 7897 Six Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48168.

When? Sunday, September 18th, 2022, 11am-2pm.

What? Our Carole Roberson Day Celebration is held in conjunction with Jack and Jill Day.

How? Group 5 teen representatives led the official Jack and Jill ceremony honoring Carole Robertson. The teens set up a beautiful ceremonial table and lit candles in honor of her memory. Each teen recited a part of the ceremony and led the chapter in a reflection on her life and how we can carry on her legacy.

Why? The importance of remembering our history and the ongoing need to fight for human rights, civil rights, racial equality, and social justice is as important now as it was in Carole’s day. Carole was a member of her local Jack and Jill teen group in Birmingham, Alabama and was killed in the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing on September 15, 1963. She was 14 years old when she killed at church preparing to march for civil rights with other youth that day. We encourage children and teens in Groups 1 through Group 5 to be inspired by Carole and to understand the importance of the current and future leadership.

Programmatic Thrust? Cultural, Educational, Social / Recreational.
