Holly DeNeve is an attorney based in Indiana whose legal work has focused extensively on child welfare. With over a decade of service at the Indiana Department of Child Services, she took on cases involving children and families in some of the most sensitive situations. Her efforts often occurred behind the scenes, without public attention, yet consistently shaped outcomes for those most vulnerable in the legal system. Holly completed high school in northern Indiana in 2004 before attending college to study political science and minor in environmental studies. Graduating magna cum laude in 2008, she showed strong academic discipline and a clear direction. She then earned a law degree in 2011 and passed the Indiana Bar Exam that same year. From the beginning, she focused her work on helping others rather than pursuing private-sector goals. Her legal career began at the Department of Child Services, first as a temporary legal assistant and later as a full-time attorney in St. Joseph County. She worked directly in courtrooms on cases involving children in need of services, adoptions, guardianships, and termination of parental rights. Her responsibilities included drafting motions, conducting discovery, examining witnesses, and staying up to date on legal standards. She was known for being calm under pressure and consistently prepared. Over time, Holly earned the respect of colleagues and supervisors. Her ability to explain legal matters clearly led to several opportunities to present at continuing legal education seminars. In 2016, she briefly left the agency but returned soon after, continuing her work there until September 2025. Her return reflected her deep belief in the importance of the role she held. Her commitment extended beyond her profession. Together with her husband, she supported local programs for children and families, contributing time and resources to efforts in their community.
