Find Your Purpose

Spring is right around the corner, so do you know what that means? It’s time for spring cleaning! Do you feel overwhelmed by all the stuff in your life? All the stuff in your house, car, and mind? Your calendar, overflowing with events and obligations? You just can’t seem to get away from all the stuff, and it’s constantly distracting you? You probably have more stuff in your life than you know what to do with, and it can be a bit overwhelming. I understand this because I am in the same boat.
I have recently been working through a journaling book called “The Purpose Driven Life Journal: What on Earth Am I Here For?” It challenges you to think about the purpose God has placed on your life and reminds you that we are on Earth to fulfill that purpose. We are not here for all the stuff that overwhelms us in our dayto-day life.
I have realized that all the stuff and clutter in my life has been distracting me from time with God and figuring out what purpose it is that He has for me! Knowing the purpose God has for you can simplify your life. Plus, we can’t take all that stuff with us anyway! This year, I am going to take some time for spring cleaning and clear out all the stuff and clutter in my life.
I challenge you to do the same! Do some spring cleaning this year. Clean out your home, your car, your
mind, and your calendar. Do the KonMari decluttering method, do meditation to clear your mind, and decide what is important for your calendar. Get rid of everything that distracts you from spending time with God, and you’ll see the huge impact it has on your life! Living a life of simplicity and with purpose is living a life closer to God.
“I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done” (Philippians 3:7).
