I would like to welcome you all to the Chestnut Angus Annual Bull Sale. What an amazing time to be in the cattle business, as the cattle market has continued to remain strong! Thank you friends, current, past, and new customers for taking the time to look through this year’s offering. I certainly understand it gets said every year but I truly believe this is the best set of cattle we are offering for your consideration. This year our family was Very Blessed in August as we became grandparents, welcoming Wesly and Kayla’s daughter Jovi June Johnson to the family! She’s been our Biggest Blessing, and we are very fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time with her as a family! We are also excited to have Dawson’s girlfriend Maddy Miller a part of our operation as well! These wonderful additions are reminders of the importance of family, and by working together the sky is the limit on the goals we can achieve. Sherri and I are enjoying watching Wesly, Dawson and their families chase their goals and dreams, and choosing to work alongside us in the family operation, which has us excited for the great things to come in the future!
We were overwhelmed with the response to the cattle at this year’s National Western Stock Show, and we sincerely appreciate all of the positive feedback and enjoyed being closer to the ‘Hill’ cattle, and not having to walk so far to showcase our bulls on the ‘Hill’ for the Bull Show. It certainly was a highlight to be awarded the first ever NWSS Grand Champion PGS Bull! We continue to strive to always be progressive, and produce the best product for our customers.
I feel as though there are bulls and females in this offering for everybody. We focus on producing bulls that will add vigor and pounds to your calf crop, without sacrificing maternal traits including structural integrity and disposition. We also strive for added phenotype, so that you receive top dollar when selling your cattle, along with carcass merit to earn those premiums when sent to the rail. We are very proud that our Cow Herd has been able to generate the set of cattle we are offering this year. The set of females we are offering come from the heart of our program. I am confident they will go home and be nothing but profitable. We focus on several important genetic and physical characteristics in our cattle highlighted by foot and udder quality, along with docility, which has brought us to where we are today. If they don’t meet those requirements, they do not last long here. I believe it is important that in order to make our cattle better, and the industry better, these traits need to be very important regardless if you are a purebred, or commercial cattleman. I am confident this set of bulls will inject many of these important traits into your calf crop to take your operation to the next level.
I would like to thank you all for your continued support and interest in our program. We are proud of this set of cattle, excited for their future, and excited as the next generation is hitting the ground now. I would like to thank my family for everything they do, to keep this operation running like a well-oiled machine. We all have different roles within this operation, and it takes all of us to make sure everything gets accomplished. As our family continues to grow, I am excited to see what the future holds for our entire family as it takes all of us working together to make this operation run! Thank you to my friends, customers, and all of the supporters of Chestnut Angus. We all know it takes a lot of people at different times of the year to make everything happen, and your help and continued support is greatly appreciated. Similar to last year, the cattle market has been as good as it has ever been! It is time to trade in those older herd bulls for a new and fresh set of genetics to add value to your operation. It will pay dividends and be very beneficial for many years to come! When you consider the value of Feeder Cattle in the marketplace being sold by the pound, the added value of a performance driven bull justifies the initial expense of that bull, and as a result add more pounds to your calf crop, which results in more dollars in your pocket. These young herd sires provide a tremendous return on investment in today’s cattle market which ultimately is the bottom line in the cattle business. We encourage anyone and everyone to stop by the farm anytime to check out this year’s offering. Please reach out with any questions you may have. Thank You again for your consideration, and we hope to see you on Sunday, February 22nd at the Farm in Pipestone, MN.
ALL REGISTERED ANGUS BULLS HAVE BEEN GENOMIC TESTED THROUGH ANGUS GS, AS WELL AS PARENT VERIFIED AND TESTED FOR ALL NECESSARY GENETIC DEFECTS!

Where would the U.S. Beef Industry be without the influence and challenge of the Angus breed?
The Angus breed makes the industry better in so many ways that many would never consider. Of course, the Angus female has rivals, but they are very few when it comes to full-circle production and longevity. The Certified Angus Beef program has had as much impact as the major influx of Angus influence throughout the industry. The coveted, branded program has forced all other breeds to step up their game in carcass quality and value as the industry experiences a higher percentage of Choice product each year, with the Prime quality grade becoming more prevalent and consistent as well. The cattle within the herd book can be used to produce a product far superior to all others, and that’s why the influence is so strong throughout, as everyone loves the affiliation with a winning product.
The Johnson Family of Chestnut Angus has been breeding high-quality Angus seedstock for decades. Glenn’s approach has not wavered since day one. The focus has always been on a total program approach. The sacrifice of either sex for marketing purposes has been completely unacceptable. Male progeny are expected to perform the roles for which they are utilized, and females must become productive mature cows with impeccable udder quality and milk volume, while maintaining the maternal instinct that Glenn refuses to sacrifice. For these reasons, many seedstock and commercial cattlemen alike have gravitated toward the influence of a Chestnut bull or female in the past five years.
Glenn and Wesly both understand that good livestock are built from the ground up. Cattle that are good at the surface with skeletal integrity, base width, depth and rib shape, are a must to carry the muscle and product that the program is strongly known for. Performance, in terms of scale measurements, reflects not only the generational selection methods but also is reflective of the maternal machine’s ability to raise bigger cattle without adversely affecting the cow’s ability to breed back within the firm’s calving window. The paper profiles affiliated with the stock between the covers of this book mirror what the stock can do on the hoof and it also gives insight into what they can contribute to the ultimate end product on the rail.
As the marketing team, we know what these cattle are made of and how they acclimate to new environments. The success stories continue to pile up as those who have invested in the brand keep coming back and new customers are added to the list annually. Building an empire is not a simple task, but when one knows what they are investing in and has confidence that the building blocks are stacking up, the journey becomes clearer. The core values on which the operation was founded remain in place and will not waver. These are the kind of Angus cattle that can go British on British or cross well with a set of Continental-bred cows. They are also suitable to be kept exclusively Angus, but we know for a fact that they feed, convert, and grade with ample premiums attached, and the daughters will enhance any program’s production values and guard the bottom line.
We encourage you to attend the annual production sale of Chestnut Angus in person or online. This is a highly anticipated annual offering of some of the very best Angus in the nation for all things beef production. The cattle are the highlight, but the hospitality and fellowship will follow suit. If you should need assistance with additional information, selection, or sight unseen purchasing, we encourage you to contact Glenn, Wesly, Dawson or any of the Innovation AgMarketing team, as they will be more than eager to assist. Until then, enjoy the offering, safe travels, and thank you for your interest.

We lead off the offering with one of the most impressive herd bull prospects we have ever bred and raised, with the most powerful pedigrees from Chestnut Angus on either side of his pedigree, he is a true product of the program, and one we are certainly proud to stand behind! This first set of Chestnut Force 482 sons are more than we could have hoped for, and those that invested in him originally only have good things to say, so you can plan on seeing a lot more of him going forward, this year though, five heavy duty sons will sell! When it comes to cattle that appease both phenotypically and genomically, then you are in the right place. The cow family you find in support of 325 needs little introduction as the Queen Lucy’s hold their place among the most desired of cowboys nationwide, they are admired for their milking ability, easy fleshing and maternal value. The dam of Lot 1 is a maternal sister to the legendary Chestnut Knock Out 204 that still continues to see use as his daughters achieve incredible results in production, and a maternal sister to this leadoff bull was the choice of Gary Edman in the 2024 Production Sale. This herd sire puts it all together in one dynamic package, he is certainly a stout built, extra heavy muscled, wide based and round bodied herd sire prospect that has been impressive through ever stage of development, and looks to be the promoter of serious quality!

Chestnut Force 345 is a son of the $130,000 Chestnut Force 482 that comes with all the extras in regards to powerful build and expressive shape! This wide ended, dense bodied beast comes from the trend of high growth, and performance that you will find build this offering. Something we have been pushing for generation after generation, because in the end, pounds are what we are getting paid on. The Blackcap cow family that he stems from has been a trusted source of herd bulls and program leaders for some time now, and you will find his dam, Chestnut Blackcap 10 has quickly solidified on our hopes for her to be a big-time producer, as 345 is her second sale bull, with last year her son Chestnut Barricade 1474 selling to Dale Kontz.

Another Chestnut Force 482 son that comes with growth predictions that will put a producer on the right side of the scale. Chestnut Force 675 comes with a phenotype that lines up with how we like to pick them, ss he comes with a structural build that is authentic and will support an extended breeding tenure. Both genomically and in the real world he has proven to excel in terms of performance, and easy fleshing ability, coming to the weaning pen with over 800lbs. of pay weight. Genomically he ranks 20% or better for WW, YW, RADG, MW and $W. His maternal sister, Chestnut Proud Lassie 248 was a favorite of the 2024 Production Sale selling for $20,000 to Moore Land & Cattle of Illinois.

When comparing the sons of Chestnut Force 482 genomically, Chestnut Force 185 would be where you are pulled towards, he comes with an awesome set of curve bending figures that rank him among the top 15% for CED, BW & WW, he too ranks top 15% for $M and top 5% for $W. These predictions should be music to the ears of stockmen that want to keep improving growth and performance but do not want to compromise the calving ease and lower birthweights that typically would be suspected when adding performance genetics to the equation.

With the combination of top third CED, BW & YW, Chestnut Force 255 offers up a genetic profile that should be attractive to stockmen that want to keep progressing their cowherd in a positive and profitable direction. If you are like us and prefer to breed cattle with an easy keeping, low maintenance look, that are robust in their ribcage then this stud will be your kind! He comes with the support of the Ruby cow family, one that has reigned supreme here at Chestnut for raising herd changing sires! He is a very versatile breeding piece that delivers massive growth, but not by sacrificing calving ease. His maternal brother by Musgrave Jumbo sold last year to David Deal for $15,500.

We are excited to introduce the first sons of Chestnut Honorable 463 to the offering, and boy did this Hoffman Thedford son turn it up with this first set of sons. From a profitability standpoint he ranks among the most elite in the breed with his top 1% $W, an index that is built to provide a number for cattleman to use that summarizes the traits that directly pertain to profitability of selling the progeny from a bull at weaning time. Chestnut Honorable 105 brings breed leading predictions for added growth and pay weight. This early born stud has always been at the front of the pack, 105 has been one that you always notice among his contemporaries because of his impressive growth trends and ground pounding stature. He recorded a 117 WWR, with 929lbs. of profitability, because of his 3.72 WDA. His real-world data adds validity to his impressive growth genomics. A consistency of performance is reflected throughout this first set of Chestnut Honorable 463 sons, and we think their hereditability will be potent.

Chestnut Honorable 225 comes with a genomics package that few could rival. His incredible set of curve bending projections would make him a great asset for just about every cowboy and girl. You will not find bulls every day that read with +16 CED that flip to and +88 and +150 weaning and yearling weight, respectively. We love the genetic combination that this stud offers, a Chestnut Honorable 463 son that stems back to the highly influential NSF Scotch Lady E34 donor dam that has an array of successful daughters in the cowherd. Density and power through and through. Analyze the data to find that he is top 2% CED, top 10% BW, WW, YW, CW, top 15% YH, CEM, along with top 5% or better $M, $W, and $F, this guy checks boxes all the way across his profile.

There are no if’s, and’s or but’s about it, Chestnut Bold 75 is an absolute brute. This pound’s heavy beast has always been one of the most impressive specimens over the past year, and come weaning day he asserted his dominance over the cohort to record a class leading 999lbs. weaning weight with over 4lbs per day. Most would be surprised to notice even though he mashed the scales in the fall, he came very modest at only 75lbs. this is the kind of trends you can become accustomed with when employing these next generation genetics that are built around whole herd profitability. His WW, YW and $W figures rank him among the most elite 1% of the breed, this stud will be the source of legit pounds and profit for the majority of our customers that market their calves at or shortly after weaning.

We are very glad we turned to SITZ Eternity 739L at the breeding box when this crop was made, as his influence of performance and growth is felt very strongly throughout this offering. The sons of 739L are led off by Chestnut Master 1195 and are a consistently burly, big ended, long sided set of power house beef bulls! You will notice they all come with an impressive set of weaning and WDA records and this is further reflected by their genomics records. We certainly experienced the impressive influences that people have been sharing of the SITZ Eternity 739L sired cattle and think they are right for the times. Chestnut Master 1195 comes to the front of the pack though, as every angle of evaluation and inspection designates him an outlier. If you want to add pounds and performance quickly, then trust in this high caliber stud, as he is the one to get the job done in the first and every subsequential breeding season. Chestnut Eternity 705 is not just a high-end growth and performance enhancer, but he offers quality from a phenotype and maternal power standpoint just as readily. His genomics package is loaded with predictions of enhancement, beginning with top 10% WW and YW figures, but also includes top 4% Teat and MW, top 1% Foot Claw and Angle traits and a top 4% REA number. Truly a master of all trades that offers improvements across many of the most desirable areas for stockmen in our area that not only need to increase performance but want to be able to build a cowherd from the retained daughters. Note that his dam is a maternal sister to the $88,000 all time high selling Chestnut Angus female, Chestnut Queen Eva 133 that is proving her valuation in production.

Chestnut Eternity 825 comes with a very neat and chiseled look yet remains very masculine and stout about his feature and shape. His pedigree links him to several success stories, including the Chestnut Relax 43 bull that works for Griswold Cattle Company. His dam, Chestnut Winnie 2105, is a stunning brood cow that has got off to a great start and looks to be an exceptional female in production and will be the source of high quality, heaving weighing stock.

Chestnut Eternity 835 is genetically and phenotypically geared for performance. His dam, Chestnut Queen 670 is a leading daughter of the in-herd legend, Chestnut Stunner 639, she is the powerful, three-dimensional type that has injected the added softness and easy fleshing look that 835 continues to mature with. Without a doubt this is the kind of sire prospect that will add value to the program if your marketing scenario involves running your calf crop over the scale. He himself registered a 106 WWR, with his impressive 841lbs. of weaning weight. Genomically he trends growth promoting with his top 10% WW, top 20% YW, and top 15% $W.

Chestnut Eternity 915 is an impressive SITZ Eternity 739L son that keeps getting better at every stage of development. He is a maternal brother to the impressive Chestnut Extensive 12 stud that L B S Angus purchased, and we have used in herd with great results. A full sister to 6270 would be PVF Missie 4149, the Grand Champion Owned Female at the 2015 NJAS and Reserve Champion Angus Female at the NWSS for Esther McCabe, a threequarter sister would be Cheyanne Jones Reserve Champion Owned Female at the 2016 NJAS. The Missie cow family is renowned for combining style with function and added maternal value. The banners are always appreciated but when it comes to real world data and growth, seldom compare to this higher performing stud.

Chestnut Eternity 865 is a leader of his sire group for across-the-board improvements genomically, you can find high rankings for growth and performance traits, along with and elite 1% ranking for $W. He is the kind of bull that offers worlds of quality to a commercial cattleman that is progressive in his approach to the beef business and that realizes the value of having a sire that can inject massive weaning weights and produce scale pounding feeder cattle. Maternal brothers work for Mark Boraas and Nathan Weiland, their Chestnut Redemption 38 dam traces back to the high powered Malsons Savannah 66Y donor.

Eternity 985 is a rugged, and heavy muscled herd bull that comes extra explosive and masculine in his shape and dimension. Note his very impressive 859lbs. weaning weight that recorded a 108 WWR, and helped to push him towards the front of classmates on weaning day. Coming with one of the most powerful phenotypes, and a genomics package that matches up to his impressive scale pressure, he is bound to be the kind that can deliver upon a ranchman’s dreams of adding serious payweight to a set of calves come market time. His young dam, Chestnut Sandy 113 has made her presence known in a hurry, as the coming 5-year-old has already had two other sons feature in the Bull Sale, last year, Cecil Wilson Jr. purchased Chestnut Teton 224 for $25,000 and in 2024, Bill Field purchased her firstborn son, Chestnut Benchmark 133 for $10,500. Not that we do very much flushing around here, but this Square B Atlantis 8060 female probably better get sorted to the donor pen this year. The culmination of the most promising young cow in the program, and the trending EZAR Gettysburg 1061 sire has delivered in a big way here, and we think this stud offers significant value to programs that are progressive about their approach to the future of their cowherd. Not that we use the showring as a judge of quality, we are proud to say that Chestnut Gettysburg 645 is the freshly crowned, and inaugural Grand Champion PGS Angus Bull from the National Western. The PGS show is designed to incorporate a combination of genomic excellence, along with phenotype, a show that really plays into our motto of ‘‘Angus cattle that combine banner-winning phenotype with breed-leading genomics.”

Stemming from a young Connealy Hayday sired dam, Chestnut Gettysburg 405 comes with an extreme set of genomic predictions for his ability to inject pounds and pressure. He ranks among the elitist 1% of the breed for WW, YW, and $W and top 2% for RADG. In a time where pounds are being paid for more than ever, it makes sense to invest in genetics that can help unlock your cowherd’s maximum potential, and when it comes to growth, 405 might just be the best we have to offer. This genomic outlier will have the ability to change the EPD outlook on his progeny in a single generation and what is more impressive is the fact that this genomic standout is also built with shape and power, so not only does he read impressive, but he has a phenotype to suffice the strictest checklists when on the search to find a herd builder. He came into the world with an unassisted 84lbs. BW and weaned off his second calving dam with a massive 876lbs!

The dollar values quickly point in the direction of Chestnut Gettysburg 875 towards promoting him to being instigator of adding value and profitability across the board. For those that retain ownership beyond weaning time, there are more factors than just pure pounds that come into the equation, therefore you may lean towards the added carcass quality and yield that is offered by this impressive stud. Note his top 3% Marbling figure, combined with top 20% Ribeye, two major factors towards his dynamic roster of $Values that include top 10% $Ax, $AxJ, and $C, top 5% $B and top 3% $G.

There is no question that added pounds only equal added dollars in the beef business, and with the record breaking markets we are seeing, there is no other time in history that compares to the compensation we are getting for every pound of beef. A quick math equation will prove that some added investment on the sire end when they can add massive growth will absolutely pay dividends, not just over his lifetime but even in the first year of his service. Chestnut Vigor 425 will be the supplier of these high-end gains, as both his raw data and DNA driven genomic testing reveals that he ranks among the leaders of the breed for adding pay weight. You shouldn’t need any more evidence of his stance on growth than the incredible 983lbs. weaning weight that he recorded coming off his KR Storm 900 sired dam.

CHESTNUT QUEEN HERSELF 840 MATERNAL

Those who need to keep a strong handle of the carcass attributes will find added value with Chestnut Gettysburg 665. His combination of top 10% CW, top 25% Marb, top 5% RE and top 15% Fat promote him to a carcass leader of the offering, and this comes summarized by his very impressive roster of $Values across the board. Few can match his very versatile genomics package that checks a lot of boxes regardless of your production goals. The top 10% $AxH, $AxJ, $B and $C, along with top 15% $M, $F and $G numbers set him and his new cowherd up for short term financial success.

We like the genetic concoction that builds the Chestnut Gettysburg 635 herd bull prospect, he stems from a promising, Chestnut Redemption 38 daughter that stems back the phenotype standout, PVF Proven Queen 5250 that was the Reserve Grand Champion Female at the 2017 Atlantic National for Korey Moser, and has proven she’s worth the accolades in the donor pen, with a maternal sister to 760, PVF Proven Queen 8256, being slapped the Reserve Champion Female at the 2019 North American International Livestock Exposition for Cameron Choate. Regardless on your thoughts of the showring, there is plenty of real world performance about this guy, as he has been a heavyweight through every stage of development and came to the weaning pen with just shy of 900lbs. Genomically there is only more proof as he sports huge growth predictions that rank top 1%, and his 192 YW figure is as high as you will find.

Chestnut Gettysburg 605 offers the best combination of CED and growth predictions of any of the EZAR Gettysburg 1061 sons. While he still comes loaded for bear in regards to growth, he trends more appropriate for calving ease with a top 20% CED figure, meaning no sacrifices need to be made on either side of the equation. His dam is a maternally orientated Deer Valley Growth Fund daughter that stems from the Blackcap cow family, and has a track record of excellence, particularly through his very prolific granddam, Chestnut Blackcap 665. A herd bull that fits many scenarios, the kind that could be used with caution on heifers, yet still comes with all the power to be a cow bull.

Chestnut Gettysburg 965 is another EZAR Gettysburg 1061 son with performance at the forefront of his highlighted traits, he goes back to a young and productive Square B Atlantis 806 daughter from the ‘Winnie’ cow family, a tribe that has built the

Chestnut Gettysburg 1135 is ranch ready! He measures with triple digit yearling weight figures and is built for the long haul, beginning at the ground. You can always trust in a herd bull that comes with the backing of the Winnie cow family. You will also note that he goes back to the time-tested female maker, Basin Payweight 1682 through the prevalent 7110 female that is a maternal sister to our herd bull, Chestnut Unanimous 345.

For additions of shape and muscle, Chestnut Gettysburg 945 serves up a well warranted argument. He is built with extra density, curvature and width, and will sire some added punch and carcass shape. The highlight of his genomic package is found with his top 1% REA figure, and remains impressive with his top 15% WW & YW figures.

Gettysburg 445 would certainly be one of the most appropriate calving ease options and curve bending when

More pounds, and more power will come from the implementation of this EZAR Gettysburg 1061 son into the bull battery. Both the raw power, and genomic dataset suggest that 475 will be a potent supplier of more payweight when it comes time for his progeny to run over the scale. This husky fella came with 815lbs. to the weaning pen, and is maturing with added length, muscle shape and power than his classmates. His dam, Chestnut Queen Eva 8104 has been a center point of genetic advancement for us over the past couple of years. She is best known as the dam of the $88,000 Chestnut Queen Eva 133 that was purchased by Moore Land & Cattle in the 2023 Female Sale, and the Chestnut Point Taken 180 herd bull that works for Nordlund Stock Farm. Maternal brothers sold for $15,000, $11,000 & $8,000 last year.

Chestnut Gettysburg 1015 is the perfect combination of style and stoutness. He comes in a dynamic package being long sided, wide based and has the big flexible running gear that will allow him to have a long and comfortable breeding tenure. The added eye appeal and soundness of build will draw in some attention, and research into his maternal pedigree would solidify any questions. His dam, CN DJ Annie Oakley 565 has been a strong force in the breeding pasture for approaching a decade now. She defines what the role model female in production should be, highly productive, fertile, built for longevity and profitable. Last year her son Chestnut Prolific 844 led off the offering and commanded $28,000 to David Medeiros, and another son sold in the 2023 Bull Sale to Robert Ford.

CHESTNUT INCREDIBLE 942
MATERNAL BROTHER TO LOT 50
Chestnut Gettysburg 1185 rounds out a very high-quality set of 1061 sons,

Here we introduce a trio of brothers from the incredible Chestnut Captivation 958 donor female, making them maternal brothers to the record setting, $130,000 Chestnut Force 482, the sire of the Lots 1-5 bulls in this sale, and a sire that we plan on having a large future here through our AI program. We always knew that 482 was a special individual, the one-off kind that only came about with the stars aligning, but after these three brothers evolved, it became obvious that there was plenty of maternal power embedded in the equation, and not just luck. Chestnut Feat 795 leads off the band of brothers and comes as one of the highlights of the entire 2025 born crop of bulls, as this extra impressive brute leaves little to the imagination in regards to stoutness of feature, boldness of build and completeness of confirmation. It doesn’t matter where you start or end your appraisal, you are going to remain impressed by this specimen. Be it on foot, on the paper, or by the family tree, we think Chestnut Feat 795 has a lot to offer!

The two full brothers to Lot 51 continue the trend of impressive growth and density of build that their brother sets up. They too are maternal brothers to the $130,000 Chestnut Force 482 that is the sire of Lots 1-5 in this offering. Chestnut Captivation 958 is one incredible matron, supplying incredible udder and teat quality, a perfect structural design and was the source of high performance and genomic strength, she is now owned in partnership with Moriondo Farms of Mount Vernon, Missouri. Note that the Lot 52 stud displayed incredible performance on his own terms this summer, almost tipping the 900lbs. mark and gaining with over 4lbs. of WDA, one of the highest across the entire offering. The Lot 53 bull comes with the highest genomic predictions for explosive weaning weight.

Chestnut Feat 355 stems from the powerful Wetonka cow family that has been a strong force on the cutting edge of the Chestnut program. Maternally he stems back to Chestnut Wetonka WJ 63, the dam of the high production, Chestnut Redemption 38, one of the shining breeding pieces in the history of Chestnut Angus. We have been impressed by these Sitz Feat 729H sons, as they come burly built, but are probably a
longer, and move with some added flexibility than what is expected from high some of the trendy high-performance sires.

Chestnut Continental 715 leads off a group of 11 sons from our herd sire, Schiefelbein Continental 473, a very impressive curve bender that has really stamped his first crop of sons with a look of quality and real-world beef characteristic. We think these sons offer an ideal blend of calving ease with performance, carcass, and power that is going to add profitability in an automatic fashion! While his huge weaning weight that recorded a 113 WWR is nothing to shy from, 473 is true standout of the class phenotypically, as he delivers his impressive genomic package with a build that exudes stoutness and power, he is the big and correct footed kind we have been looking for, with a strong topline, bold ribcage and explosive muscle shape. His young dam stems back to the maternal powers of the Chestnut Miss Wix DJ 8131 female that sets the standard for what a mature cow should look like, and was extremely productive during her tenure here before she was purchased by the Puepke program of Mitchell, South Dakota.

There is a lot of versatility that comes built into the genetic package of Chestnut Continental 235. He comes with a nice blend of calving ease and growth predictions, and will be a strong candidate for stockmen that are on the search for a calving ease prospect that do not want to throw growth out the window. Stemming from the Ruby cow family helps us to believe that he is bound to sire females that sift straight to the replacement pen and you can build a cowherd around. From a 79 BWR, to a 108 WWR, there isn’t much more you could ask for from this guy as you look to mesh the best of both worlds.

Connealy

We think that these Schiefelbein Continental 473 cattle look to make lots of happy customers, as his sons will be the kind that hit the scales and help to add value to a calf crop. Not only do they have real world performance but they more than surpass the strict structural checklist each bull goes through before making the sale list here in Pipestone, and we think have a strong maternal base that will create females to retain and breed from. Chestnut Continental 1045 stems from a ‘Lucy’ female by Frenzen El Rio that stems back to the standout, Chestnut Knock Out 204 daughter, Chestnut WJ Lucy 790.

At just shy of 900lbs. at weaning, Chestnut Continental 25 steps it up another notch, and finds himself among the heavy hitters of the offering. His added length of body, width of skeleton and impressive stoutness of feature are all indicators that he is set to be a legitimate source of added growth and payweight, and turning to the science sings the same song! Top 10% WW, YW and $W figures will be found, along with a very balanced set of carcass attributes.

Chestnut Continental 85 continues the tradition of excellence that the 473 sons have proven at the scale, they are truly a force to be a force to be reckoned with. While he came in off his Mill Brae Benchmark 9016 sired dam impressively, it is important to note the very appropriate 70lbs. birthweight that he denotes. The added maturity of this early January born stud should certainly help him be ready to see cows early and often this first breeding season.

Chestnut Continental 885 sports an incredible roster of genomic excellence. Across the board he registers 21 different genomic traits that rank in the top third of the breed, and in many cases top 10% or better. Calving ease - check, growth - he has it, $Values - they are all covered, this stud is as multipurpose as you will find, and can fit the bill for just about every scenario you could think of.

We think there is a lot of similarities between Lot 60 & 61, as both of these bulls cover all the bases genomically, and in the flesh come built for the long haul! With a very balanced combination of advantageous growth and calving ease, they offer stockmen a well-rounded set of traits that will lead to all around improvements. We think this can be attributed to the fact that both of their maternal pedigrees link them back
female that set the tone for the success of the ‘Blackbird Susan’ cow family in Pipestone.

We purchased Schiefelbein Continental 473 from the Schiefelbein brothers as an outcross pedigreed, curve bending and eye appealing herdsire to offer our clients and cowherd a fresh option for success. The 11 sons of 473 that sell in 2026 uphold and probably outreach the expectations we had for him, and we think should be very successful to helping a large array of cattlemen reach their goals. We think you will appreciate the growth pattern of these 473 sons, they have proven to be the ranchman’s kind in design and follow in their sires’ footsteps with impressive length of body, appropriate foot shape and build of longevity. As you have come to expect from our program, the maternal pedigree that backs all of these sons is highlighted by cow families that have provided the goods for generations at the CN.

Chestnut Thunderstruck 35 is one of our favorite bulls in the offering from a balance and composition standpoint in 2026. This stud is extra burly in his body and muscle pattern, and is one of the bigger patterned, more rugged built bulls in the pen. Yet he still comes with a smooth and angular shoulder construction and design that looks like it will last a lifetime. He is maternally powered by the Peg cow family that has been a reliable producer of both scale shakers and impressive mothers and he traces to several highlighting bulls from the past couple of years via his Chestnut United sired dam. Few bulls in this offering are able to match his combination of calving ease and growth, as he records top third rankings for CED, BW, WW & YW. Beyond this you will find his probability to increase profits through 7 $Values that also rank top third, and in particular $M, $W and $F that rank in the top 10%.

As his impressive physical attributes would attest, this Boyd Thunderstruck son records a data set that reflects like he will most definitely be the promoter of added growth and pounds when his progeny run over the scale. Chestnut Thunderstruck 245 is one of the longer sided, roundest rib caged sires that will sell on February 22nd, and we foresee him passing along these positive attributes to both his sons and daughters in the first generation. He stems from a line of maternal excellence, as the Queen Herself line offers exceptional production in terms of females that consistently bring high quality and heavy weighing progeny to the weaning pen.

Chestnut Thunderstruck 65 is an extra complete herdsire that is quick in his growth trend, favorable in his maturity pattern and masculine about his head and neck design. The Boyd Thunderstruck sire is a Genex owned growth curve bender that offers a different pedigree, and has a look of quality that we certainly appreciated. We found his genomic pattern to read be realistic as this crop of sons came really easy all made it well past the 800lbs. mark at weaning time. The mother of 65 stems back to the Malsons Savannah 66Y female that has made a splash in production during her tenure here in Pipestone, and reigns from the legendary Krebs and Greens ranch cow family that is held in high regard by ranchers across the nation.

Chestnut Thunderstruck 115 is a leading calving ease and heifer safe option across the entire offering. With the help of DNA enhanced genomics, he has been identified among the top 4% of the breed for CED, and top 10% for birthweight, and with our own eyes we saw proof in the pudding as he came unassisted from his first calving mother at 67lbs. Those who require minimal labor inputs at calving season will

Boyd Thunderstruck was an $80,000 high seller for the Boyd family of Kentucky, and is the leading son of the popular BJ Surpass sire to emerge. We found a lot of value in this AI sire as he had a very interesting set of genomic data that we thought would nicely complement our goals for making bulls that can be used in a large variety of scenarios, and don’t fall out of bed in any one area. Beyond that he comes with a phenotype that aligns to the standard we have held ourselves to, siring stock that have shape and width, and we think he will prove to be a foot and udder improver as well. We think it’s pretty impressive that across 8 sons in this sale he recorded an average birthweight of 68.25lbs. and a weaning weight of 838.5lbs. Turn to a son of Boyd Thunderstruck to keep your program on the straight and narrow, but on an upward trajectory.

The smoother muscled, longer sided, neat shouldered, Chestnut Home Town 1175 makes for a calving ease option genomically. With his top 20% CED, comes his ability to provide the genetic potential for above breed average weaning weight and yearling weights. Maternally he stems from the likes of the Blackbird Susan matrons, stemming back to the Pathfinder, 896.

You don’t need to make any sacrifices with the addition this RAML Home Town 2778 son to the herd bull battery, as his combination of top third calving ease, along with top 10% WW & YW, and strong maternal indexes mean that this stud can be a useful tool in helping add profitability across the board. We think he will sire cattle that come easy and explode every day on out from there, along with adding to the uniformity and consistency of a calf crop due to the generations deep maternal excellence that comes with the ‘Wetonka’ linage you will find here.

We have a lot of respect for what the Raml family have built, and their Angus cow herd is certainly impressive. We have been waiting for the right sire to come along and a couple of years ago we stumbled upon RAML Home Town 2778, a high phenotype son of G A R Home Town that offered the impressive genomic abilities of his sire but we think will sire an even more attractive and attractive phenotypic value. We like what we see from this first set of sons of 2778, and have high hopes for this versatile whole herd improver. Calving ease with impressive growth looks to be a constant across this sire group, two of the quickest and most effective ways to keep profitable.

The sire of Lot 81 is absolutely loaded for bear when it comes to injecting high performance and high indexing $Values. In fact his genomic package reads with top 1% $AxH, $AxJ, and $C, top 2% $B, and top 3% $F and $G. We just sampled the 4 Sons Ground Breaker influence but are pleased with the results here, as Chestnut Ground Breaker 1225 is a strong ranch bull that is the type and kind to cover country and get cows bred, while supplying a genetic base that will increase profitability for the program.

Chestnut Benchmark 1165 comes to you with all of the basics covered. His build is the ranchers’ kind, and we think that he will raise progeny that are profitable at the end point, but also require less inputs to get there. His sire, Chestnut Benchmark 423 was a favored member of the 2024 NWSS lineup, but unfortunately took the trip rough and we didn’t feel comfortable selling him come February, however he made a full recovery and has done an awesome job as a herd bull, being an aggressive breeder and looks to serve for years to come.

Chestnut Entense 410 leads off the strongest and most dynamic set of females to ever be offered through the bull sale, we had full intentions to have a female sale in the fall of 2025, but as life got busy, and time got away from us, the plans changed. So here we are now, pulling females from the cream of the crop to sell in this production sale. This is by no means a cleaning up of the lower quality, but is a feature of the best cow families and females from the bred heifer offering that just fell out of the early calving period, and not by their own fault, but mainly a herd bull that went bad unexpectedly and we caught it later than we would have liked. This offering is led off by a set of Connealy Craftsman daughters that combine genomic excellence with a build and type that is easy to tie to. We love the feminine angles and lines of Chestnut Entense 410, she poses pretty as a picture and is built with a structural build that will last well beyond her tenure. We see this female maturing to only keep impressing with time. She is a maternal sister to Chestnut Unify 335, a highlight of the bull offering that sells as Lot 19, and they find their maternal base through the legendary B C Everelda Entense X026 female, a cow that we wish more would aspire to be, as she was truly one of the most incredible producers through her extended tenure that lasted beyond 14 years of age, where she would stick to AI every year and she raised twins the last three years.

The Connealy Craftsman sons were well received last year, but we think we like these daughters even better! They come with a very maternal look about them, and have developed with added softness and shape, and we think will be a productive source of quality for those who decide to invest. Chestnut Beauty 422 stems from a E G Eyes Onyou daughter that has been a producer from day one, her first born son was a $7,000 purchase of Cody Ostertag and then this is her second born, we aren’t sure we could ask for much more! Her mating to Chestnut Jumbo 34 will get this female off to the same kind of start that her dam did.

Chestnut Elaine 443 looks to be the front pasture kind that will be a very impressive addition to any cowherd, and while we think you will like what you see in the sale pens, her quality reaches beyond that as you can turn to the genomics and find a very strong supporting act to her value. Her genetic predictions read for her to be a reliable source of productivity and profitability, beginning at calving and ending with carcass attributes, she is the kind that covers all the bases. Her Deer Valley Growth Fund sired dam was a front runner when we offered up the choice of the bred heifer offering in our 2022 Female Sale, but we are glad she ended up staying here in Pipestone as she has matured into a beautiful cow and fruitful producer.

The ‘Beauty’ cow family is held in very high regard around Pipestone! This newest member of the tribe stands up to the high set of expectations that we hold them to, and she is a prime example of why this cow family has been so trusted for so long. This female is loaded to the gills with genetic and genomic power, as she combines a potent double shot of progressive stock with both Connealy Craftsman and Wilks Regiment 9035 in her two-generation pedigree.

Chestnut Ruby 439 steps up to the plate, reading with strong expectations of high productivity. She stems from the Chestnut Ruby WJ 994 female that has been a very strong source of females, as multiple daughters have been retained in the cowherd and are producing on the front line. Chestnut Queen 448 stems from the powerful ‘Queen’ cow family, in particular the Chestnut Queen 670 female that has been an absolute force in production, generating multiple high end herd bulls that have been marketed over the years. Chestnut Eternity 835 is a powerful brute that will be quickly noticed when walking through the bull offering. Chestnut Miss Blanche 429 is a beautiful Long Teton 107 daughter that you will admire on sale day for her phenotype that reads of the utmost balance, longevity and femineity. The cow family you find in support is admired in Pipestone for their milking ability, easy fleshing and maternal value. The dam of 429 is a maternal sister to the Chestnut Incredible 912 herd sire that sold to Dustin Ponto in the 2023 Bull Sale and a maternal sister sold last year to Eli Nissen. Numerically she tabulates just how we like them, coming with very acceptable calving ease predictions and even more impressive growth numbers that rank among the top 10% of the Angus registry. Good beef that comes with a proven cow family, genetic prowess and a highquality phenotype.

Chestnut Blackcap 440 is a lot more than just a pretty face, as this Long Teton 107 daughter comes with a genomic profile that foreshadows, she will be an instigator of significant growth and power. Her top 2% WW and YW figures top the class of bred heifers, and this expectation becomes more plausible once you dive deep into the story that her cow family writes. Her dam Chestnut Blackcap 188 sold last year for $8,5000 to the Moeller brothers, and we all know whatever they touch turns to gold, so there is more to come from her story but in her first year of production here she did raise a sale bull at $7,000 to Cody Fritz.
