FEBRUARY

February arrives wrapped in emotion — in love, in reflection, and in renewal. It is a month where hearts open wider, tables grow fuller, and intentions turn gentler.

Our cover story this month celebrates love in its most authentic form. We step into the lives of Hyderabad couples who have shared their journeys with us — stories of partnership, resilience, companionship, and growth. Beyond grand gestures and candlelit dinners, love is found in everyday understanding, in shared dreams, and in the quiet strength of choosing each other, every single day.

As the city blushes in the romance of Valentine’s, it also prepares for a sacred and soulful time — the beginning of Ramadan. In this special feature, we speak to families about how they plan to embrace the holy month, from cherished traditions to heartfelt gatherings. We’ve also curated thoughtful Ramadan gifting ideas and indulgent Valentine’s desserts — from decadent cupcakes to artisanal cakes crafted by some of the finest patisseries in Hyderabad.

Fashion and beauty, as always, evolve with the rhythm of the city. This issue highlights the season’s most coveted handbags — statement pieces every modern woman is eyeing — along with a spotlight on trending nail art and the city’s most sought-after nail salons redefining beauty culture.

On the digital front, we explore a compelling shift in urban India. In Beyond the Screen: Why Urban India Is Choosing Quality Again, we unpack how mindful consumption is replacing mindless scrolling. And as 2026 unfolds, influencers share their perspectives on the rising prioritization of mental wellness — a sharp and necessary turn toward balance, clarity, and self-care.

February, to us, is not just about celebration — it is about intention. Love with depth. Faith with devotion. Fashion with identity. Wellness with awareness.

As always, thank you for being part of our journey and for allowing us to be part of yours.

With warmth,

WHY URBAN INDIA IS CHOOSING QUALITY AGAIN Beyond the Screen

The first thing I used to do every morning was reach for my phone. Before brushing my teeth, before opening the curtains, before even sitting up properly, I’d scroll— WhatsApp messages, Instagram stories, emails that could easily wait. By the time I left my bed, my mind already felt full.

One morning, almost without planning it, I didn’t.

I made coffee instead. Stood by the window. Watched the city wake up— the distant traffic, the vendor setting up his cart, the light changing slowly. It wasn’t dramatic. Nothing extraordinary happened. But the day felt different. Quieter. More mine. I didn’t realise it then, but that small moment was part of something larger that’s unfolding across urban India.

A Life Lived on Screens

In cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi, screens have become inseparable from daily life. We work on them, commute with them, relax through them. Even our wellness routines—meditation apps, fitness trackers, sleep reminders—live inside screens.

For a long time, this felt like progress. Technology gave us access, flexibility, speed. But slowly, the pace began to feel relentless. The boundaries between work and rest blurred. Presence became rare. Even leisure started to feel performative.

Today, the average urban Indian adult spends four to six hours a day on their phone, not including work screens. For young professionals, total screen exposure often crosses nine or ten hours daily. Being available at all times has quietly become the norm.

And yet, many of us feel tired in ways sleep doesn’t fix.

Why Quality Is Suddenly So Appealing

Lately, I’ve noticed a shift—in myself and in people around me. Friends talk about burnout more openly. Weekend plans are quieter. Conversations linger longer. There’s less urgency to post, share, or prove.

Quality, once associated with luxury or expense, is being redefined.

It now means:

Cooking at home instead of ordering in Reading a physical book instead of skimming articles

Designing homes that feel calm, not cluttered

Choosing fewer possessions, but ones that last

This isn’t about rejecting modern life. It’s about designing a life that feels livable.

Designing for Slowness

In urban Indian homes, this shift is showing up in design choices too. Spaces are being planned with intention— natural light, breathable layouts, muted palettes, textures you want to touch. Homes are becoming sanctuaries from overstimulation rather than extensions of it.

Furniture is chosen for comfort, not trend cycles. Materials feel grounded— wood, linen, clay, stone. Even small rituals matter: a corner for journaling, a balcony for evening tea, a dining table that invites conversation instead of distraction.

Design, in this sense, isn’t just visual. It’s emotional.

Wellness Beyond Apps

Wellness used to mean productivity optimisation— steps counted, sleep tracked, calories logged. Now, it’s beginning to look different.

It looks like:

Morning walks without headphones

Stretching without recording it

Eating slowly, without screens

Resting without guilt

Reducing daily phone use—even slightly—has been linked to better sleep and improved mental wellbeing. But beyond research, there’s something deeply familiar in these moments for Indians: the calm of sitting with elders, the grounding of routine, the comfort of unhurried time.

Youth Culture Is Leading the Way

Ironically, the generation most immersed in screens is also the one most eager to step back. Urban Gen Z and millennials are talking openly about digital fatigue, mental health, and the pressure to constantly perform online.

They are redefining aspiration—not as speed or scale, but as balance.

Instead of chasing “more,” there’s growing interest in:

Meaningful work

Thoughtful consumption

Experiences that don’t need validation

Lives that feel aligned, not just impressive

A Quiet Rebalancing

This moment isn’t loud. There’s no grand movement or manifesto. It’s happening quietly—in how mornings begin, how homes are designed, how weekends are spent.Screens are still part of life. They always will be. But they’re no longer being allowed to dominate it.

In cities that never slow down, choosing quality has become a way of reclaiming control. Of creating pockets of calm within the chaos. Of remembering that life isn’t meant to be endlessly consumed or optimised—it’s meant to be felt.

And perhaps that’s why, in urban India today, the most meaningful luxury isn’t another device or app—but something far simpler: a life lived with intention, beyond the screen.

I don’t hate my phone—I just don’t want it to run my life anymore. I realised I was constantly tired, even on days when nothing ‘hard’ happened. Now I leave my phone in another room while eating or reading. It sounds small, but it changes everything. I feel more present, and honestly, more calm. Quality for me now means fewer distractions and more moments that actually stay with me.

PARIMITHA D

Student

People think our generation lives online, but honestly, a lot of us are tired of it. Everything feels performative. Sometimes I just want to exist without posting about it. I’ve started journaling and taking walks without music. Those moments feel more real than anything I scroll through. Quality to me means living life for myself, not for an audience.

DARNISH REDDY BILLA

I realised I was living life in fast-forward—work, notifications, reels, emails, repeat. Everything felt urgent, but nothing felt important. Cutting back on screen time wasn’t about being disciplined; it was about feeling human again. Now I spend more on things that last—good shoes, a comfortable chair, weekend trips instead of gadgets. Quality, for me, means choosing things that improve my everyday life, not just fill time.

Ramadan Reflections: Hyderabad Families Share Their Traditions and Celebrations"

As the holy month of Ramadan envelops Hyderabad in a spirit of devotion and unity, families across the city come together to share their personal traditions and cherished moments. In an exclusive interview with several Hyderabad-based families, we explore the unique ways they observe fasting, offer prayers, and strengthen bonds with loved ones. The Alis:

1.Can you share a memorable moment from a past Ramadan that brings a smile to your face?

Zubair: One of the most cherished traditions during Ramadan is our annual sehri trip to the old city. There’s something magical about stepping into those bustling streets in the early hours, surrounded by the aroma of sizzling kebabs, freshly baked naan, and rich, creamy malai. The entire atmosphere is alive with energy vendors calling out their specialties, families and friends gathered around makeshift tables, and the faint echoes of prayers in the background.

2.What’s your go-to iftar dish that everyone looks forward to every year?

Zubair: Haleem is undeniably the heart of our iftar spread. Ramadan simply wouldn’t feel complete without it. This rich, slowcooked dish, with its velvety texture and deep, comforting flavors, is something we eagerly anticipate all year. The moment it’s served, the aroma of ghee, caramelized onions, and tender meat fills the air, bringing everyone to the table with excitement.

It’s more than just a dish; it’s a tradition that brings family and friends together, a symbol of warmth and togetherness after a long day of fasting. Whether it's homemade with a family recipe passed down through generations or picked up from our favorite local spot, haleem remains the highlight of iftar, making every Ramadan even more special.

3.How do you balance the spiritual and social aspects of Ramadan within your family?

Zara: Balancing the spiritual and social aspects of Ramadan is something we cherish as a family. We make it a point to dedicate time to both prayer and togetherness, ensuring that the essence of the holy month is truly felt in our home. Our evenings begin with quiet moments of reflection and prayer, attending Taraweeh together whenever possible, strengthening our faith as a unit.

At the same time, Ramadan is also about bonding and creating lasting memories. Our iftar gatherings are more than just meals—they’re moments of connection, where we pause from our daily routines to share stories, laughter, and gratitude. Whether it’s preparing the iftar spread together or enjoying post-dinner walks under the Ramadan-lit sky, we find harmony in blending the spiritual depth of the month with the warmth of family and community.

4.What’s one thing you’ve learned from fasting during Ramadan that has stuck with you throughout the year?

Zara: Fasting during Ramadan has taught us invaluable lessons in patience and self-discipline lessons that extend far beyond the month itself. Going without food and water from dawn to dusk is not just a test of physical endurance; it’s a reminder of inner strength, resilience, and the ability to control our desires. It reinforces the idea that true fulfillment comes from discipline, gratitude, and mindfulness. These lessons stay with us long after Ramadan ends. Whether it’s facing challenges with a calmer mindset, practicing restraint in our daily lives, or being more mindful of our blessings, the values instilled during fasting shape our perspective throughout the year. Ramadan isn’t just a month of devotion; it’s a time of personal growth that continues to influence how we live, work, and connect with others.

The Shujads:

1.What’s your favorite family tradition during Ramadan, and how do you make it special each year?

Sabiha: My most favourite tradition at Eid is visiting my mother's home and having the Biryani that she makes! No one makes Biryani and mirchi ka salan along with an array of other dishes quite like her and we all look forward to this delicious Eid meal every year. Dressing up in Eid finery is another special something which we look forward to as a finale to the culmination of a month of rigorous spiritual activity.

2.Can you share a memorable moment from a past Ramadan that brings a smile to your face?

Sabiha: Among my most cherished memory is the one where my dadi, my paternal grandmother followed this tradition of offering us Eidi before which she would anoint the back of our hand with gulab ka ithar, a special Ether made from the essence of roses, the fragrance of which still fills my memory.

3.If you could describe Ramadan in three words, what would they be and why?

Sofiya: Ramadan is a time of year when people not only practice fasting by refraining from food for a particular time period but they fast from engaging in anything negative mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually which automatically elevates the energy and the spiritual and emotional vibration, making it a wholesome cleansing experience.

4.How do you balance the spiritual and social aspects of Ramadan within your family?

Sofiya: Families sit together to open/close their fast so what makes this month special is that all family members get to see more of each other by default in comparison to regular days where busy lifestyles do not necessarily allow for this.

The Velvet Season of Love: A Valentine’s Edit

In the sultry embrace of February, when Hyderabad's minarets silhouette against blush-hued skies, Valentine's Day unfurls like a silken sari, opulent, intoxicating, and unapologetically romantic. This global rite of amour, born from ancient Roman legends and Lupercalia's feverish revels, transcends mere calendars to ignite passions anew. For the cosmopolitan woman navigating love's labyrinth, it's a canvas for bespoke gestures: whispered promises over artisanal chocolates from local patisseries, sunset cruises along Hussain Sagar's shimmering expanse, or bespoke jewelry glinting under Charminar's glow. Elite couples curate intimacy with effortless panache, think private dinners at boutique rooftop lounges, where fusion cuisines marry candlelit confessions. As hearts flutter amid the city's pulsating rhythm, Valentine's beckons us to revel in vulnerability's velvet allure, proving love, like Hyderabad's finest weaves, is timelessly exquisite.

What is Valentine's Day, if not the ether saturated with love's heady perfume? Originating from the martyrdom of Saint Valentine in the third century, who defied imperial edicts to unite lovers in secret matrimony, it has evolved into a worldwide symphony of sentiment. Roses cascade, sonnets serenade, and skies blush crimson as affection permeates the air, transforming mundane moments into magic. In Hyderabad's vibrant bazaars and luxe enclaves, this day amplifies romance's resonance, weaving personal narratives into a tapestry of tenderness that lingers long after the petals fall.

Hyderabad's power couples affirm Valentine's as their annual amour anthem: "It's our sacred pause for unbridled intimacy," shares fashion maven Priya Rao, while tech innovator Vikram Singh adds, "Amid chaos, it reignites our spark with bespoke bliss." Amid flickering diyas and whispered vows, may your Valentine's bloom eternal, where every heartbeat scripts a love story for the ages.

Shiwangi Vijaywargiya Rohith Khurana &

How did you first meet, and what one small detail made it unforgettable?

We actually met at both of ours first internship and he is extremely charismatic and has a mischievous aura that keeps people around him laughing out loud and that eventually caught my attention.

What's your go-to date night ritual, and why does it feel so special?

There isnt one but a combination of small things like sometimeswe go on long drives, sometimes to a Pan Asian restaurants, sometimes we cook together to sometimes doing our 10k steps together while discussing our day. I dont think you should stick to one!

Describe your perfect Valentine's Day— what'sthe highlight moment?

I think our 2nd Valentine’s day would always top the list for me coz he took me on secret candle night dinner date - something I had only imagined happening in movies, at least back in the days :P

What do you love most about each other, in three words or a quick story?

We are both very opposite but passionate about each other’s passion and have the ability to bring out the best out of each other and that I think is what keeps us afloat.

What's your top piece of advice for other couples in love?

Lets your partner be ( coz before being your partner he/she is a human and have had different life for many years), dont force change put efforts instead and do the damn work if your relationship requires. Communication is beautiful when done softly in any situation.

Mohini Saumye &

How did you first meet, and what one small detail made it unforgettable?

I met him because I was struggling with an exam and he was the senior who actually knew what he was doing. He helped me clear all my doubts and ended up helping our entire batch pass.

The small detailI still rememberis how calm he was about it, like solving100 questions no one else could find answers to was just another Tuesday. I was in awe.

What's your go-to date night ritual, and why does it feel so special?

We love trying new food around Hyderabad, but our favouritenights are the super boring ones. Netflix on, grilled chicken from Siddique Kebab Centre, no getting dressed, no plans. It just feels easy.. like a sleepover with your best friend.

Describe your perfect Valentine's Day— what'sthe highlight moment?

Valentine’s Day is also my birthday. We usually do a two-night staycation somewhere in the city, and of course, a cake from Concu is a must.

What do you love most about each other, in three words or a quick story?

We’re best friends.Even if we’redoing nothing all day, it never feelsboring. We actuallyplan days where we just binge a show, cook something together, and scroll our phones side by side. It’s very low effort, very us.

What's your top piece of advice for other couples in love?

Keep talking, even when it’s uncomfortable. Especially then. Try not to let ego speak louder than care - it almost always creates distance where none was needed. No one fits perfectly from the start, love is something you grow into. And if you keep choosing each other, again and again, it becomes something steady, safe, and real.

Sushmitha Akash Gupta &

How did you first meet, and what one small detail made it unforgettable?

Our story began in the most traditional way, within the warm, familiarwalls of my parents’ home. What started as a simple friendship between family—his brother-in-law and my cousin, turned into the moment my entire world shifted. I expected a formal meeting, but what I found was a soul I already knew. The conversation didn’t just flow; it danced. It felt as if we were two long-lost friendsfinally finding our way back to one another. From the very first hello, the conversation was e ortless and the connection was undeniable. We didn't need months to decide; we just needed that one afternoon at home to know we wanted every afternoon for the rest of our lives. That afternoon remains tucked away in a special corner of our hearts— the day we realized that "lifetime" was a commitment we couldn't wait to make. Who knew an "old-school" arranged marriage setup could feel like a modern-day fairytale? Definite proof that love at first sight is real!

What's your go-to date night ritual, and why does it feel so special?

Our greatest adventures are often found on a plate. From vibrant street food cornersto hidden travel gems, our favorite memoriesare almost always seasoned with the flavorswe’ve discovered together. When we aren't out exploring, you’ll find us tucked away at home for a movie marathon.Akash makes me laugh until I cry with his perfectly timed jokes. Even though our palettes and movie tastes are often poles apart, we fit together like bread and butter. We are a beautiful contradiction—two di erent personalities in preference, but perfectly in sync in spirit.

Describe your perfect Valentine's Day—what's the highlightmoment?

Why confine our love to a single calendar date when every day o ers a million reasons to celebrate? For us, love isn't found in grand gestures, but in the "little nothings" and the "big everythings" that happen in between. Now, as a family of three, we’ve realized that the truest form of romance is cherishing the small wins—the quiet smiles, the shared glances, and the joy of watching our family grow. Our love story doesn't need a special occasion; it just needs us.

What do you love most about each other, in three words or a quick story?

Sushmitha: What I cherish most about Akash is his unwavering honesty. He has this candid way of looking at the world that, while it can sting in the moment, has helped me grow into a better version of myself. It’s a rare kind of love that challenges you to bloom. Akash: There is a quiet magic in the way she understands me. She has this incredible gift for reading my silence; she knows exactlywhen to reachout, assure me she’s there, and create a safe spacefor me to speak my heart. If that isn't the truest definition of love, I don't know what is.

Together: Our journey reached its most beautifulchapter with the arrival of our daughter, Saisha. She is our "forever" in a tiny, joyful package—the most beautiful blessing we could have ever imagined.

What's your top piece of advice for other couples in love?

If we’ve learned one thing, it’s that love is built on the courage to be real. We grow and change every day, and we make sure to create a home where being ourselves is enough. It’s the simple, profound act of being truly present—listening with intention rather than just waiting to speak. It’s about being "all in," showing up for the big moments and the quiet ones alike, and holding a space for each other that is safe, honest, and forever

Bhavana

How did you first meet, and what one small detail made it unforgettable?

This might sound a little surprising, but we first met on Hinge. From our very first conversation, something just clicked the kind where replies don’t feel forced and the conversation just flows.

Akshay’s answer : One small detail about Bhavana that stood out to me early on was how she pays attention to even the tiniest things when we talk. It’s rare, and it stuck with me.

Bhavana answer : Our first date felt easy and organic with full of little moments. His chivalry stood out instantly, and it didn’t take long for me to realise we clicked right off the bat.

Fun fact: we also unknowingly had perfectly curatedprofiles… basically destiny, but with good angles.

What's your go-to date night ritual, and why does it feel so special?

Our go-to date night ritual is simple and effortless. Almost every weekend, we head to our favourite café for a cheat meal. We keep our phones away, talk through the week ahead, and sketch a rough plan of action.

With demanding schedules and disciplined fitness routines, this day becomes crucial it’s our way of making time for each other, sharing a cheat day with the one we love, and creating a beautiful balance between ambition and togetherness.

Describe your perfect Valentine's Day—what'sthe highlight moment?

For us, a perfect Valentine’s Day looks like any other day we choose each other. We don’t really celebrate it because we believe love shouldn’t be limited to just one date. The highlight is always the same unhurried time together, meaningful conversations, and the comfort of showing up for each other, every single day

What do you love most about each other, in three words or a quick story?

Akshay’s answer : What truly puts her in the spotlight for me are a few things that define who she is. Her relentless hard work and the way she has built her own empire from scratch is nothing short of inspiring. Despite being incredibly strong and independent, she carries a soft, cute side that she shows only with me, creating the most beautifulbalance. Above all, her kindnessstands out effortless, genuine, and reflected in everything she does. Through it all, she supports me unconditionally, pushingme to grow while standing firmly by my side, which makes her presence in my life truly special.

Bhavana answer : One of the things I love most about Akshay is how effortlessly feminine I feel around him. It’s a rare feeling, especially for a woman who’s always been independent and used to doing everything on her own. Feeling truly secure with your partner is one of the biggest green flags, and he’s always made sure I feel that way.

He’s incredibly driven and disciplined, and that was something that instantly drew me towards him. What I love even more is how much I get to learn from him every day.

What's your top piece of advice for other couples in love?

Our biggest advice would definitely be to never rush the process of finding the right one. We truly believe the right person comes at the right time. It’s completely okay to have different interests or lifestyles, but finding someone with the right mindset is crucial. Mindset reflects values, nature, and perspective and when that aligns, everything else begins to feel seamless.

POPCORN

AHUMBLEBEGINNINGINANCIENTTIMES

Long before popcorn became a movie-night essential, it was already popping in ancient kitchens. Archaeologists have found evidence of popcorn dating back over 5,000 years in Mexico and Peru. Indigenous communities in the Americas discovered that certain varieties of corn would explode when heated, turning into fluffy white bursts.

For them, popcorn wasn’t just food—it was decoration, ceremony, and celebration. Corn kernels were popped over fire, worn as ornaments, and even used in rituals. What began as a simple grain slowly grew into a cultural icon.

HOWPOPCORNTOOKOVERTHEWORLD

Popcorn’s global rise began when corn traveled from the Americas to Europe and Asia through trade routes. But its real fame came in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the invention of portable popcorn machines.

When cinemas started booming, popcorn found its perfect partner. Cheap, delicious, and easy to eat in the dark, it became the unofficial snack of movies. By the time television arrived, popcorn had already secured its place in living rooms, carnivals, fairs, and street corners across the world.

POPCORNININDIA:FROMSTREET SNACKTOGOURMETTREAT

In India, popcorn has long been a familiar sight—sold by street vendors outside schools, parks, and theatres. But in the last decade, it has undergone a stylish makeover.

Flavours like peri-peri, cheese, caramel, truffle, butter garlic, and chocolate drizzle have transformed popcorn into a gourmet experience. Indian brands such as 4700BC, ACT II, Too Yumm Popcorn, Popcorn & Co., and The Crunch Box have helped elevate popcorn from a simple snack to a lifestyle product.

STARPOWERINEVERYPOP CELEBRITIESWHOOWNPOPCORNBRANDS

Popcorn isn’t just a movie snack anymore—it’s becoming a celebrity business move. Around the world, stars are turning their personal snacking habits into brands, proving that even the simplest treat can be star-studded.

Reality star and entrepreneur Khloé Kardashian launched Khloud Protein Popcorn for people who love crunch but also care about fitness. For her, popcorn had to be both tasty and healthy. She has shared that she’s a “salty, crunchy snacker” and wanted something that fits her protein-focused lifestyle while still feeling indulgent. To her, popcorn is no longer junk—it’s smart snacking with style.

Tennis legend Novak Djokovic co-founded Cob Foods, which makes popped sorghum— a popcorn-like snack for people with gluten sensitivities. For him, it’s about performance and wellness. He believes snacks should support health without losing flavour, and his brand reflects his disciplined, cleaneating lifestyle.

The Jonas Brothers turned a backstage favourite into a brand with Rob’s Backstage Popcorn. Inspired by a family friend’s special seasoning that followed them on tours, the popcorn represents comfort, nostalgia, and home. Nick Jonas once described it as “home cooking in a bag”— showing how popcorn can carry emotion, memories, and personality.

INDIANCELEBRITIESANDTHEPOPCORNINFLUENCE

In India, while very few celebrities own only popcorn brands, many stars invest in or promote healthy snack startups that include popcorn as a hero product. Celebrities like Virat Kohli, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Malaika Arora are known to support clean-label food brands, where baked and flavoured popcorn fits perfectly into the “guilt-free” image.

Several Indian gourmet popcorn brands also collaborate with actors and influencers to create limited-edition flavours—like spicy masala blends during festive seasons or chocolate caramel during Valentine’s Day. These celebrity-inspired collections often sell out fast, proving that fans love to snack like their idols.

Regional film stars, especially in Tollywood and Kollywood, have also introduced boutique food labels for luxury gifting— where gourmet popcorn appears in wedding hampers, filmlaunch gifts, and corporate boxes.

FROMMOVIEHALLSTOFASHIONABLEKITCHENS

Today, popcorn is no longer just for cinema halls. It sits stylishly in glass jars, luxury hampers, wedding favours, and party bars. It is served at fashion events, baby showers, corporate launches, and even weddings.

What makes popcorn timeless is its ability to reinvent itself—sweet, salty, spicy, healthy, indulgent, or gourmet—while still staying comfortingly familiar.

THEPOPTHATNEVERFADES

From ancient fire pits to five-star hotel menus, popcorn has traveled across centuries and cultures. It has grown with trends, embraced fashion, welcomed celebrity love, and still remains one of the simplest joys of eating.

No matter how glamorous it becomes, popcorn will always remind us that sometimes, the best things in life start with a tiny kernel—and a little bit of heat.

ATIMELESSCRUNCH

In conclusion, Popcorn’s journey from ancient fields to modern lifestyles proves that true classics never go out of style. It has crossed borders, blended with cultures, and adapted to every generation’s taste—whether as a humble street snack or a gourmet indulgence. Loved by moviegoers, chefs, celebrities, and families alike, popcorn continues to reinvent itself while staying comfortingly familiar. In every pop lies a story of tradition, trend, and timeless joy—making popcorn not just a snack, but a feeling.

OPINIONS

ALNAAZ Jowks K Travels, Entrepreneur

Popcorn is loveeee. Whether I’m at an airport lounge, on a road trip through the mountains, or working late in a new city, popcorn feels like a little piece of home. No movie feels complete without a huge bucket of popcorn, thats how much I enjoy the snack.

HUNARLODHA Student

When I’m studying for long hours, I don’t want something that makes me feel heavy or sleepy. Chips are too oily, chocolates are too sweet, and most packaged snacks just leave me feeling guilty. Popcorn, especially when it’s lightly salted or air-popped, feels different. I can keep munching without that “I ate too much junk” feeling. I also like that I can change it based on my mood—plain when I’m trying to be healthy, cheesy when I need comfort, caramel when I want to treat myself. It gives me options without making me feel like I’m ruining my routine. For me, popcorn isn’t just a snack. It’s my study buddy, my movie-night partner, and my go-to when I want something crunchy without the guilt.

SUPRITHASIKHA Corporate Employee

My days are packed with meetings, emails, deadlines, and screen time. Somewhere between calls and coffee, hunger hits—but I don’t want something that makes me feel sluggish. Heavy snacks slow me down, and sugary ones give me a quick high and then a crash. Popcorn sits right in the middle. I keep a pack in my office drawer or laptop bag. When I’m stuck in back-to-back meetings or working late, a handful of popcorn keeps me going without making me feel stuffed. It’s light, crunchy, and just enough to calm the hunger without stealing my focus. In a fast corporate life where everything moves quickly, popcorn is my small pause between tasks.

I’d tell them to create a small “metime ritual” every evening..could be skincare, watering plants or just sitting by the window with chai //Nothing fancy// It’s about pausing after a busy day and checking in with yourself, something we all forget to do :) @navyaaa_naidu

As a daily mindfulness practice, I’m committing to starting my mornings with 10 minutes of intentional stillness no phone, no scrolling, just mindful breathing and awareness. This practice aligns with my New Year resolution of being more conscious of how I begin my days, how I respondto situations, and how I protect my mental space, instead of constantly rushing or multitasking.

I’d recommend mindful mornings to my Hyderabad followers even just 5 minutes after waking up to sit quietly, stretch, or take a few deep breaths before reaching for your phone. If possible, I’d encourage at least 15 minutes of meditation in the morning. This simple habit helps you stay calm, centred, and stress-free throughout the day.

It’s beginner-friendly, doesn’t require anything extra, and truly shifts your energy for the day. It resonates deeply with me because these small practices have helped me feel calmer, more focused, and more connected to myself, even on busy city days.

VINUTHNA

If you could recommend one beginner-friendly mindfulness habit to your Hyderabad followers for their New Year resolutions, what would it be and why does it resonate with you?

In short, it would be: observe, live, and let live.

The world has become a place that validates all kinds of ideas. As great as that is, it may have also allowed us to form prejudices against things we may not fully understand. So, I hope I can help people who believe in me understand the importance of overcoming hate and making others feel comfortable in their presence.

Could you give a brief intro about yourself and what content you cover on Instagram.

Hey, I’m Jagarlapudi Vinuthna. I have been an Instagram contentcreator for 6 years now. While I focus on making music-related content, I also enjoy posting culturally expressive content. If you could recommend one beginner-friendly mindfulness habit to your Hyderabad followers for their New Year resolutions, what would it be and why does it resonate with you?

1 thing I would tell all the people is to be passionate and consistent in whatever they’re doing and try to find your interests and make use of their prime era which is gonna majorly impact in next few years and this would be applicable to me as well!

AAKANSHA PEDDA

I started noticing everything very differently & intentionally. I started reflecting on my life

I stared talking better. I started dressing well. I started feeling good about myself.

PILATES POISE:

HYDERABAD’S CORE OF MINDFUL ELEGANCE

In the realm of wellness, Pilates emerges as a symphony of precision and poise, a method pioneered by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century that harmonizes breath, core fortitude, and fluid articulation to sculpt the physique from within. Far from mere calisthenics, it unfurls as an alchemical practice, low- impact yet profoundly transformative, igniting a global fervor for its capacity to elongate sinews, fortify the lumbar sanctum, and bestow an ethereal suppleness. In Hyderabad’s pulsating tapestry of mindful living, Pilates transcends the gym’s confines, evolving into a luminous beacon for those seeking equilibrium amid urban whirlwinds; its devotees extol its virtues in ameliorating postural elegance, mitigating chronic ennui, and nurturing a meditative communion with one’s corporeal vessel.

Let us now attune to the sagacity of Rishi Sree, a certified Pilates savant ensconced in Hyderabad’s vibrant wellness echelons, whose atelier beckons the city’s luminaries toward corporeal enlightenment. With credentials honed through rigorous pedagogy and an intuitive grasp of somatic alchemy, Rishi demystifies Pilates as more than exertion, it’s a reverie of resilience.

Could you give a brief intro about yourself and What inspired you to launch Ananta Studio in Hyderabad, and how has the local fitness landscape evolved to embrace Pilates.

I’m a certified Pilates instructor and Director of Pilates at Ananta. For me, Pilates isn't just a workout it’s about discovering what your body is truly capable of. In Hyderabad, we've seen a massive shift lately. People are moving away from just 'crushing it' in the gym and are now looking for sustainable, intentional movement. The city has really embraced Pilates as the go-to for building real strength and better posture for the long haul.

As a certified Pilates trainer, what’s one common myth about Pilates that you debunk for your clients right away?

I always hear that Pilates is "just fancy stretching" or "only for women." I debunk that on day one! It’s actually a killer strength workout that hits muscles you never knew you had. It’s challenging for everyone, even the toughest gym-goers.The biggest one is that Pilates is "easy" or "just stretching." I love seeing the look on a client's face when they realize how hard their core is working! . It’s definitely not a nap on a mat.

Brief us through a signature session at Ananta—how do you customize it for beginners versus elite athletes?

At Ananta, no two sessions look the same. For beginners, we focus on breath, alignment, and slow, controlled movements. The focus is on the foundations learning to breathe and find their center. With elite athletes, we increase complexity, resistance, and precision. The foundation remains the same, but intensity and intent change. It's about meeting the body where it is.

Pilates is all about core strength; which three exercises do you swear by for busy professionals juggling work and wellness?

For busy protessionals, I swear by the Hundred for circulation, Plank variations for total core engagement, and Spine Stretch for mobility. These three together improve posture, reduce stiffness from long sitting hours, and activate the core efficiently.

What role does breathwork play in your sessions, and how has it helped clients manage stress in our highpressure city life?

Breath is the center of the movement. It’s about calming the nervous system. In a fast paced city like ours, that focused breathing helps clients "switch off" the work stress and actually connect with their bodies. They walk out feeling taller and much calmer. Many clients tell me Pilates is the only hour in their day where their mind truly slows down.

Looking ahead, trends you’re excited to bring to Hyderabad’s fitness elite?

Hyderabad's fitness elite is moving beyond aesthetics toward longevity and injury prevention.Smart training is becoming aspirational, and I want to be at the forefront of that shift. I’m really excited about Athletic Pilates mixing traditional moves with more dynamic, sports- specific training. I want to show people that Pilates is the secret weapon for better golf, better running, and a more resilient body overall.

Three Variation Pilates routine, for core strength is here: to your head start Pilates class.

Pilates Reformer exercises offer precise, controlled movements that enhance strength, flexibility, and core stability using the Reformer’s springs and carriage.

Reformer Warrior 2 Lunges

Stand facing the long edge of the Reformer with your right foot on the platform and left foot on the carriage, toes toward the shoulder blocks. Lunge into the left leg while keeping the knee aligned with your toes, extending arms out to the sides in a Warrior 2 yoga pose for upper body engagement. Straighten the left leg while sweeping arms overhead, flowing dynamically between lunge and extension to build lower body power, balance, and hip mobility; switch sides after 6-8 reps.

What is the ideal wear for Pilates?

Go for form-fitting gear—think leggings and a snug tank so I can check your alignment and form easily. But the real must-have? Grip socks! They keep you safe on the Reformer and make sure you’re not slipping during those tricky moves.

Instagram: @rishisreereddy_

Reformer Arm Exchange

Sit tall on the carriage facing the footbar with feet flexed on it, holding straps in both hands at shoulder height with elbows bent. Extend one arm forward while pulling the opposite strap back in a scissor-like exchange, keeping shoulders stable and core engaged to alternate smoothly. This isolates the upper back, shoulders, and arms for improved posture and scapular control, performing 8-10 exchanges per side with controlled breath.

Pilates Reformer Pike

Lie supine on the carriage with hands strapped into long loops overhead and feet on the footbar in parallel. Press the bar to roll the hips up into an inverted pike, lifting the carriage while keeping legs straight and core scooped to form a V-shape. Lower with control to strengthen the entire posterior chain, shoulders, and deep abs, aiming for 5-8 reps to boost inversion strength and spinal articulation.

(Reference from alomoves)

In the luminous arc of mindful living, Pilates emerges not merely as exercise but as a Hyderabad symphony of somatic grace, elongating the frame, fortifying the core, and harmonizing breath with intention amid the city’s kinetic pulse.
