COMPANY

I CEO Update

Hello everyone,

hope this update finds you well and energised. As we look ahead to a busy and successful 2026, I wanted to share my appreciation and reflect on the tremendous progress we’ve made together as a unified Axis CLC.

Our strategic vision is clear: to be the leading provider of essential property maintenance across the UK, operating as a single integrated group. Our ambition is to grow revenues beyond £1 billion by 2030 while driving greater value and scale. This strategy is underpinned by a significant £25 billion market opportunity and reinforced by recent positive market developments.

I am delighted to share that since the last newsletter, Axis CLC has achieved one of our strongest ever trading periods, securing approximately £70m pa in new and extended contracts across the UK.

As well as being a tribute to you and your work, this success reflects the incredible momentum we have built collectively and in ‘future value’, those contracts promise £900m worth of new work, taking our order book above £3 billion.

This momentum is a direct result of our company value of Teamwork in action: by connecting the expertise, resources and supply chain of Axis and CLC, we spot new opportunities, open broader client conversations and grow together. This collaboration is already delivering real value, as seen in recent wins:

• Leveraging Axis’s market-leading responsive maintenance proposition and M&E expertise allowed CLC to expand a 20+ year relationship with Southampton City Council beyond fire safety

• Axis leveraged CLC’s fire safety expertise to strengthen our relationship with Greenwich Borough Council whose priorities shift towards compliance work

• We combined CLC’s passive fire track record with Axis’s M&E/active fire capability to secure a new contract with the Girls Day School Trust (GDST)

As we successfully move from integrating our two businesses to transforming into a single group, a key priority is to Standardise, Streamline and Simplify our operations. This fundamental business shift removes the “brake on profitable growth” by making us more efficient.

Our Building Futures programme is crucial to this. It is NOT an IT project but a fundamental business transformation centred on implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). This single Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution is designed to:

• Establish a Single Finance and Operations System (F&O) with a Unified Chart of Accounts

The deployment roadmap is ambitious, aiming to achieve the Single Finance System by the end of Q1 2026 and making the platforms full capabilities available by October 2026.

We are also rolling out new, modern platforms to support our people and operations:

• Our new cross-group HR system, PeopleXD, has gone live, giving you direct access to your payslips, holidays, and personal details right from your phone

• Evotix, our Health and Safety Management solution, is being expanded across the group, bringing all our safety processes together in one central system

• Group-wide benefits, including Perkbox and a Refer a Friend scheme, have been rolled out, bringing excellent new benefits including a new private virtual GP service, to all Axis CLC employees, delivered 24 hours 7 days a week by HealthHero

You will be seeing more about all these initiatives as you read this issue of Axis CLC.

Exciting times lie ahead, reinforced by significant government investment in the NHS, Defence Estates and Affordable Homes Programme. These regulatory drivers represent further growth opportunities for Axis CLC and great prospects for everyone who works here.

I want to thank you again for everything you do. Your hard work and dedication are what make us a success, and I look forward to delivering on the next phase of our journey together.

Best regards,

New Wins and Works

Axis and CLC have won many framework opportunities and new contracts since August. Here we showcase just a few!

Our Best Quarter Ever!

Axis CLC secures £70 million in new annual contracts through collaborative success.

Since the last issue of our Newsletter, Axis CLC has achieved outstanding growth, securing approximately £70 million in annual contract value across the UK. This marks one of our strongest trading periods and reflects the continued success of our group strategy.

Additional wins in Guildford and Reading, totalling around £10 million, further strengthen Axis CLC’s national footprint. Key contributors include Kevin Harvey, Alan Noble and Tony Ronayne, who supported the expansion of the services our group provides to Southampton City Council, Guildford and Greenwich.

Teams from across the group also collaborated on gas pricing and cyclical works bids, reinforcing the value of integrated service delivery.

Highlights

• The largest single contract win in Axis’ history, a 15-year Major Works contract, with The Guinness Partnership, valued at £26 million per year

• £10m pa 10-year Planned Maintenance with Norwich City Council

• £5m pa 5-year Voids and Major Services with Southampton City Council

• North Yorkshire Council’s 4-year Retrofit and Refurbishment framework (value of framework £300m)

• Hull City Council 2-year programme for ventilation improvement works worth £5m pa.

“These wins are something we can all be really proud of, they’re a reward for everyone’s hard work and clear proof that the improvements we’ve been making are paying off. Closer collaboration between our bids and operational teams has made a real difference, making the process more enjoyable, more efficient, and helping us deliver stronger submissions. By continuing to attract the best talent and build an industry-leading bid team, we’re setting new standards for how we win, together.

Even Brighter Prospects on our Horizon!

Three major government funding announcements are great news for us and our clients.

A £29 billion NHS investment will modernise hospitals, tackle a £15 billion repairs backlog, and improve energy efficiency across healthcare estates. This creates new opportunities for us to support NHS Trusts with essential maintenance, refurbishment, and compliance works.

And over in the social housing sector, the £39 billion Affordable Homes Programme and 10-year rent settlement will deliver 300,000 new affordable homes and give housing providers long-term stability to invest in improvements. This renewed confidence means more demand for retrofit, decarbonisation, and planned maintenance — areas where we already add real value.

Meanwhile, the Strategic Defence Review 2025 includes £7 billion to support a generational renewal of military accomodation including £1.5 billion to invest in rapid work to fix the poor state of forces family housing.

“These wins really highlight the power of collaboration across our group. By combining our specialist expertise, strong client relationships, and local delivery capabilities, we’re creating genuine competitive advantages. The teamwork between Divisions on pricing, bid support, and client engagement has strengthened our position, improved margins, and shown what we can achieve when we work as one. This is a great example of how collaboration drives sustainable growth and long-term success for us and our clients.

CoE Update

Our Decarbonisation Centre of Excellence (CoE) launched earlier this year. Our team, with Group Head of Decarbonisation Paul Rogers leading, continues to provide unparalleled expertise, guidance, and cutting-edge solutions to public sector clients.

Welcome to Robbie

A familiar face already to some of us, Robbie McKinnon joined the Centre as Decarbonisation Manager, Public Sector & Commercial. Robbie brings over 22 years of experience in public procurement and decarbonisation, with a strong record in securing Public Sector Decarbonisation scheme (PSDS) funding and delivering technically complex energy projects.

Setting the standard

You may have heard that In October, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero published audit findings into solid wall insulation installed under the Energy Company Obligation 4 (ECO4) and Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS).

The findings reveal high levels of technical non-compliance: 92% of EWI and 27% of IWI installations were found to have at least one major issue, with a small number posing health and safety risks.

In the face of these deficiencies, our experience and expertise reassure our clients in the quality, compliance, and sustainability of our work.

Building Futures

James Stamp, our Group CFO, outlines our path to a single, scalable business

Building Futures is the most significant transformation programme underway at Axis CLC.

It is crucial to understand that this is NOT an IT project, but rather a fundamental shift in how we work and how we run the business. Its core mission, encapsulated by the strapline, is to Standardise, Streamline and Simplify our group-wide processes.

Independent reviews found that our current reliance on disconnected and heavily manual processes across Axis and CLC — particularly in finance — is acting as a "brake on profitable growth".

Building Futures is the essential step we must take to remove this barrier, enabling us to pool our considerable expertise and resources to reach our strategic vision of becoming a single, scalable, 1bn+ integrated group.

The project centres on implementing a modern Finance and Operations solution using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). The aim is to move away from fragmented systems and manual workarounds, like the excessive use of spreadsheets for reporting and Work in Progress

tracking. Key deliverables include establishing a Single Finance System, a Unified Chart of Accounts, and shared master data. Critically, it will also deliver a Single View of Customers and Suppliers across the entire Group. This unified platform will support future growth and the efficient integration of new acquisitions.

The benefits are substantial and will be felt across all functions:

For Finance & Accounting, key benefits include integrated purchasing, quicker account closing, and automated, objective forecasting that links directly to the system's view of our order book, removing the need for error-prone Excel models.

For Operations, the system promises streamlined workflows, allowing project approvals to be tracked with clearer authority and accountability.

Overall, the transformation is projected to unlock significant productivity increases with Finance colleagues saving up to 15 hours per week and those in Operations saving approximately 7.5 hours per week.

We have a challenging but achievable three-phase roadmap leading to the platforms full capabilities being realised. The first key milestone, Transition State 1, aims to achieve the foundational "Single Finance System" objective by end of Q1 2026. This is followed by Transition State 2, which focuses on the full deployment of Project Management & Accounting by June 2026. Finally, the Strategic Target State, achieving seamless data integration and a unified customer/supplier view across the group, is scheduled for delivery by October 2026.

New Apprentices Welcomed

RB Report 2024/5

Gracie McQuillan is CLC’s first-year Level 3 Business Admin Trainee. Gracie has been building confidence, sharpened her IT and communications skills, and learned how a business really runs. We asked Gracie about the benefits of earning while learning. She says:

It helped me develop stronger discipline and organisational skills and allowed me to become more independent and less reliant on others for support. I have learnt the value of money and how to budget wisely, helping me apply theories to real-life situations.

Keep it up Gracie!

Axis’ Bronwen Shand smashed her End Point Assessment with a Distinction, progressing from Trainee to fully qualified Administrator. We asked Bronwen how she felt about her achievements. She says:

“I felt very proud when I found out I had achieved a distinction. It has boosted my confidence and motivated me to keep striving for excellence. I’ve also developed valuable skills that will benefit me throughout my career.

PLUS Bronwen also recently completed the Royal Parks Half Marathon in 2 hours 21 minutes! Well done to Bronwen!

Brilliant Bronwen

CLC’s Richie Goddard is a first-year Painting and Decorating Apprentice. Inspired by family in the trade, Richie turned his passion for painting into a career. We asked Richie about the best bits of his apprenticeship. He says:

“The most interesting part has been how well I get along with other colleagues, who are often older than me. This has helped me learn from them and mature personally. I’ve improved all my skills, not just in painting. I’ve learned how to work effectively with others.

Well done to Richie!

Fast-Track Fletcher

Read Fletcher’s Story here:

Shepshed Starters

Painting Passion

Fletcher Walsh is our very first gas apprentice to complete Axis’ Fast Track Gas Apprenticeship Programme in just two years!! We asked how Fletcher found the pace and intensity of the course. He says:

“It was definitely a step up in pace, especially compared to a normal apprenticeship, but I saw it as a great opportunity. It forced me to stay disciplined and make the most of every day. With the right mindset and support, it was achievable — and really rewarding in the end.

Congratulations Fletcher!

We’re pleased to welcome three new apprentices to our Shepshed branch at CLC. Freddie Scott and Daniel Sulley join as Multi-Trade Apprentices, while Sharna Hatter-O’Donoghue joins us as an Administrator. We’re excited to see their progression as they begin their apprenticeships and develop their skills within the team.

This year we launched our Axis CLC Value Champions Awards. We invited everyone at Axis CLC to nominate a colleague who they felt best exemplified one of our six values.

The Exec judges were delighted by the number and quality of submissions: each demonstrated how our six company values are being lived and breathed across every part of the business. We set a Gold Standard in criteria for each award. And our entries raised the bar even higher! Winners received their well-deserved awards at the Leadership Conference in November. Thank you to them – and indeed to everyone who nominated a colleague and who made our very first Value Champions Awards such a resounding success.

In our Guess the Impact Game the lucky winner was the person who could most closely guess our number of hours volunteered this financial year. From 68 entries (sent online or in person), Jamie Laird won with his guess of 1700 hours, only 33 hours short of the correct total! Well done Jamie! Thanks to all who took part.

During our first Axis CLC Social Impact Week, we nominated eight Axis CLC people who have shown remarkable commitment to Social Impact. Well done to our shortlist (pictured l to r) David Leonard, Sherrylee Smith, Lindsey Gibbons, Stuart Lilley, Ebony Leon, Debbie Fadare, Lorrae Mannering and Bob Boal. Valuable Volunteering

Planting Ideas

Staff, volunteers and patients at Melton Hospital can now enjoy a new-look outdoor space, thanks to CLC volunteers Lewis Dolman, Cheslea Hewitt, Mark Wilson, Lukas Staley, Chris Shread, Richard Lock, Steve Knight, Aidan Ralton, Lewis Deidrick, Steven Scholfield, Josh Henshaw, John Berry, James Howe, Joshua Faull and Matt Tarry. They dedicated an entire day to transforming the hospital’s palliative care gardens.

Driving Force

Leeding the Way

We are deeply grateful to CLC for their generosity, teamwork, and thoughtfulness. Their efforts have created not just a garden, but a place of peace, remembrance, and connection for those who need it most.

– Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust

Axis’ Multitraders Graham Foote and Christopher Pearson-Bish volunteered at the Greenwich Co-operative Development Agency (GCDA) which helps local residents access essential services and build communities. In their operative vans they redistributed surplus food to community food projects across Greenwich.

Burmantofts Community Friends is based in one of the most deprived areas of Leeds that supports over 500 individuals: many are facing isolation and poverty. Axis’ volunteers Kate Thomson, Vera O’Driscoll, Emily Scott and Sophie Hall visited the Friends to help serve lunch to their members and present our donation of £1,000 to buy Christmas gifts and help towards a day out.

Apprentice Responds to SOS

CLC Southampton apprentice carpenter Sid Arnold (pictured left of Nick Knowles!) joined the BBC’s DIY SOS The Big Build in Southampton. Sid, who’s completing his apprenticeship with us and the South Hampshire College Group, got involved through their support. We can’t wait to see the results in the next series!

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for your incredible support and dedication to the DIY SOS programme. It was truly inspiring to witness around 150 local tradespeople come together as a community to support a wonderful young family. They’ve faced immense challenges, and your generosity and time will have a lasting, life-changing impact on their lives.

Axis Foundation News

More Million Milestones

Hot on the heels of the amazing news from the Axis Foundation – £3m donated to 400+ causes – comes the next instalment! We have reached yet another milestone: our donations to Demelza have now totalled £1m. Axis has partnered with Demelza for over 20 years (since before the Foundation was born). Demelza was the very first recipient of a Foundation donation in 2009.

“We are truly honoured and deeply grateful for the incredible support Axis has shown us over the years. Reaching the milestone of raising and donating over £1 million is a remarkable achievement — but it’s not just about the money. It’s about the time, energy, and heart your teams have poured into volunteering, showing up for our cause time and again.

Your commitment has improved the lives of countless children and their families across Kent and south east London, and we’re so proud to have you as part of our journey.

Golf Day Success

This year’s Axis Foundation Charity Golf Day raised over £30,000 which will be given via the Axis Foundation to many small, local and impactful causes.

Foundation Trustees

Share the Giving Spirit

Axis Foundation Trustees Peter Varney, Claire Pearce, John Hayes, Mick Hayes and Tim Hayes hosted a Lunch and Learn in Stratford. They showed the guests how to identify and refer local, small causes and individuals who might benefit from Foundation donations. And explained that, we as employees (on-site operatives and RLOs particularly) are the eyes and ears of the business, the Foundation relies on their support to identify those in need. A huge thank you to the Trustees for delivering the talk and to Kate Thomson for organising!
