This project will allow us to understand more about Hulu Langat through the inspection and feasibility studies on site. Unit C focuses on current relief trends and their design implications for the communities who are vulnerable and also in need of humanitarian supports. Each group will conduct a site analysis and will be compiled into a Site Report.
Group 1 The Context & The Disaster
Group 2 The Demographics & The Socio-Cultural Context
The following groups are:
Group 3 The Existing Architectural Typologies
Group 4 The Site Demarcation & Site Section with Context
Group 5 The Urban Planning & Mapping
Group 2: Demographics and Socio-Cultural Context was where my group and I belonged. We looked at the site mapping zoning, architectural characteristics, demographics, circulations and routes, lifestyles and activities, and site observations related to the flood disaster. Finally, we designed a site reaction poster to support our site report.
The e-publication of the book: https://issuu.com/_k_ren_/docs/000_book_unit_c
This is a pre-design proposal for Unit C to engage in this architectural competition. The design proposal should include the site study as part of the project's main core. This competition helps our design programme comprehend the delicate balance between individual space and disaster environment. Each concept will aim to build a family-sized, lowmaintenance, sustainable home.
The concept is to create a network along the river, where there would be 'knots' of human, wildlife and river activities to connect them to each other and among themselves
Although they are vulnerable groups, as long as they are united, they can face difficulties together and help each other
To encouage locals live with the nature also the disaster
To strengthen the unity culture To cultivate a good community in the future
To motivate children to explore the nature, and sharpen their interpersonal skills.
