From the Editor: Editor A fairly slim edition this month, as we haven’t done much an and d have nothing planned in the near future, unless some enterprising member comes up with a cunning plan that we can implement. I’ve future, continued to read through the old editions of Dripfeed, and shall continue to quote from them for months to come, as they are full of wonderfully scurrilous gossip, courtesy of editor Lindsay Wogan. I’m up to 1986. However I did get something wrong when in last month’s issue I wrote that Graham Henry on his AJS had FTD at the 1982 Ashley Forest Hillc Hillclimb. I had an amusing chat with the real winner, George Henry, who rang to tell me that the AJS is still as fast as ever, but the old bugger that rides it isn’t quite as fast as he used to be. Apol Apologies, gies, George. The results sheet said G Henry so I suppose I thought of the ex All Black coach who inhabited the Straven Road Academy for Young Gentlemen about the same time as me. Sports coaches come and go, but an AJS goes on forever. Another blunder I made concerned my comments about Phil Mauger’s Auto Union replica. According to club pedant and general know all Mike Crehan, it’s not. It’s just a well made Special, and his letter explaining why is below.
