Introduction of architectural concepts through the analyzation of an organic substance requires persevere and brings glimpse into the attention-to-detail mindset of an architect.
Anatomical Exploration of a Garlic Bulb

Elevating the organic substance off the ground to create impressions in soap molds tests one’s ingenuity and this is obtained with the calculated placements of toothpicks.
Imprinting of an Organic Substance

Geometric Breakdowns of a Garlic

This project is a testament to accustom one into thinking outside the box. A clay replica of the substance being elevated above the ground with a paper construct requires alteration in one’s approach and mindset throughout various iterations.

Rigid Constructions with a Malleable Material

Different verbs from RIchard Serra’s verb list are paired together into creating intriguing joints. The process requires precision and imagination to display captivating combination systems.
Exploration of Joint Combinations

to layer + to interlock to insert + to symmetry to interlay + to bundle

to swirl + to expand to weave + to support to intersect + to hook

Previously made Joint Combinations are used to make multiple models to withstand the force of dense blocks. Progressing throughout iterations allows experimentation with space and lets one simplify by eliminating redundant elements.
Construction Progress of Joint System Models
following Structural Rationalism

Following the Joint Combination Models, this final iteration withstands the weight of the previously made soap molds. The creation of this construct lets one follow the principles of Structural Rationalism while presenting an engaging model.
Construct following Structural Rationalism

Building a landscape with scrap pieces of wood displays how one can expand their horizons. This process requires one to place every wood piece in particular spots to provide a purpose.
Creation
of a Puzzling Landscape

The landscape is replicated onto a paper which the creation of a rehabilitation center while conserving materials and time. This process improves upon one’s time management and explorative skills.
Rehabilitation Center

To push the limits of the model, a detachable element of the sketch model is created. In order to achieve this, precision and determination are required which allowed for a harmonious relationship with the landscape.
Detachable Sketch Model Element

SECTION BB

Plow into the unknown…
This project tests the connection between various senses. Listening to commands and creating unique concepts shows the importance of one’s adaptability and quick thinking.

Auditory to Visual Correlational Creations
Previously made concepts are used to make more iterations which portray cohesive systems. This requires one to select particular details to expand upon.

Abstraction of Command Creations

“If you are dedicated to your work, any job becomes enjoyable”

The ‘Correlational Creations’ are extruded out of the page to explore one’s imagination. Multiple versions are created to be explored in various different ways.
Extruding Imaginative Creations
The introduction of Japanese Calligraphy was immensely challenging as creating symbols with a traditional brush required shifting of one's mindset. Throughout this project, subtle things like breathing and patience played important parts in one’s development.
Exploration into Japanese Calligraphy

“Quality is directly proportional to Quantity”
into Japanese Calligraphy
Referencing Steven Holl’s ‘Compression’ shows the expansive knowledge required to be a skilled architect. Taking one of his works and repeating them allows exploration of new details.

Perplexing Holl Repetitions

The ‘Abstraction of Command Creations’ are imagined into models. The significant role of space and light are imagined and displayed as the models progress.
Rejuvenating Creative Drawings

The previously made Abstract Command Creations are dissected in search for space and light; this is achieved through the use of multiple elevations and materials.
Abstract Scribe Relief Plates

Merging four unique Steven Holl works to make an abstract system required the differing line-weights and attention of minute details.
Stacked Holl Combination

The plates created for the abstract drawings and Steven Holl’s stacked combination are fused together to make compelling models. The process shows how one can meld vastly differing plates organically and continue to explore light and space.
Amalgamation of Plates
