Contrary to popular belief, Mobile is home to the original Mardi Gras, instituted in 1703. And, we’re the only place you can catch a Moonpie at a parade. the Mobile Bay area also hosts the GMAC Bowl and Senior Bowl (january), the hangout Music Festival at Gulf Shores (May) and BayFest Music Festival (October).

By completing three internships, two service immersion trips to Central America, and a senior seminar project that raised more than $6,000, emily king gained valuable insight and real world experience that made her the ideal candidate to future employers. matt d’arrigo ’95, San Diego, CA
Matt D’Arrigo founded ArtS (A reason to Survive) in San Diego in 2001. the nonprofit organization offers programs in visual and performing arts for youth who are experiencing challenges, including homelessness, domestic violence, poverty, illness, or physical and mental disabilities.
In 2009, filmmakers Sean and Andrea Fine made a documentary about inocente izucar, a teenage artist from ArtS who had been homeless for the last nine years. At the 2013 Academy Awards, “inocente” took home the Oscar for “Best Documentary (Short Subject).”
