Welcome

At St, Mary’s we understand that starting school is a new and exciting, sometimes daunting, experience for your child and in many cases, for you as parents. We want to make this transition as easy as possible for you and your child, we hope this brochure helps to give you an insight into life at St. Mary’s and answers any questions you may have.
Inspired by our Christian faith, our mission is to provide the highest standard of education and opportunity for all our pupils, enabling them to live their lives to the full. We are very proud of our school, our pupils and their success. We welcome children of all faiths or none.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)
At St. Mary’s we believe that every child matters and every teacher is able to support special educational needs.
Children who have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) have this reviewed annually with all parties involved. We also hold regular meetings with the families of all children that are recognised as having a Special Educational Need.
We have a SEN Co-ordinator in school who will liaise with parents and oversee support.

Safeguarding
St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.
Staff work hard to maintain an environment where children feel safe and secure. The curriculum is designed to ensure opportunities for children to develop the skills they need to recognise and stay safe from abuse including whilst accessing the internet.
Children know that they can approach any of the adults in school if they are worried and that they will receive a consistent supportive response. We have trained designated Safeguarding leads in school.
Chadwick’s Kitchen

Our award winning in-house catering team Chadwick’s Kitchen, provide catering services across the Trust.
We use fresh ingredients to prepare healthy and nutritionally balanced meals each day. The majority of our menus are homemade by our chefs in our kitchens.
Staff are trained to accommodate medical diets and work in partnership with parents to ensure these needs are met. As part of the Trust’s commitment to sustainability, we regularly review food miles and continue to work to reduce food waste.
Parents/Carers can pay for school meals using ParentPay.
Pupils entitled to free meals are allowed to purchase food to the value of a free school meal allowance daily.
