Class Photographer Tuesday 16 May

On Tuesday 16 May, the photographer will be in school to take class group photographs. All children should come to school in their school uniform on that day (the PE times will be moved to another day and the teachers will contact you separately to confirm the revised PE day).

Chicken/Guinea Rota

As our chickens are now out of lockdown, we are sending home a plea to ask for help to look after our chickens and guinea pigs out of school hours. We will usually only need help at the weekends and over the holidays. The chickens are very good at going to bed when tempted with a tasty snack!

If you feel you would be able to help out at all, please let us know - we will be sending out a letter shortly.

Full training will be given and support will be available. Thank you.

Clubs Reminders

Please don’t forget to let the office know if your child is unable to attend a club that they have signed up to, as it allows us to update the register so that the club provider is aware that the child is not attending.

The details for the clubs for summer term 2 can be found on page 3 of the newsletter and they will be available for you to book from 4 pm on Sunday 14 May (Mrs Hirst promises that she will remember this time!). As always, it takes a few minutes to publish all of the clubs so please bear with us!

Plea For Resources/Help

We have some very exciting projects for Enrichment this term and would be very grateful if anyone could help by donating any of the following items:

Blackpool Zoo is looking to hire a team of people in an attempt to scare away nuisance seagulls - by dressing them in bird costumes. Blackpool Zoo says the birds have been persistently stealing food from visitors and animal enclosures. The role, which would be housed within the Zoo’s Visitor Services team, will involve someone dressing up as an eagle and keeping seagulls away from the main visitor dining areas.

Like most seaside resorts, Blackpool is home to lots of seagulls. However, they are becoming an increasing problem at Blackpool Zoo. Seagulls learn very quickly. They understand what time of the day the displays are on. Where there are people there is usually food!

Things to talk about at home:

* Have you seen a seagull? Have they ever been an inconvenience to you?

* Share your thoughts on the new role for deterring seagulls.

* Is it a job you think you would like to do?

 cereal boxes

 pebbles (about an inch in diameter)

 trough planters (rectangular)

 green fingered adults needed to help Year 4 for an hour for just one week or as much as you can give.

Hockey Awards

Ryan L, Louisa WW, Holly G and Hollie D from Year 6 had their end of season hockey presentation on Saturday

for Warrington Junior Hockey Club. They all received their end of season medals with Ryan also receiving the award of "Boys best player of the year". They all joined the club about 3 months ago after really enjoying Miss Mills' after school hockey club. Well done to you all - we are so pleased that you have gone on to join the club and are enjoying the game!

Dance Debut

Eva L in Year 1 took part in her first dance competition on Sunday as part of Sarah Royle School of Dance. It was the first time she’s performed on stage and she was amazing. Well done Eva!

After School Clubs

Details of the After School clubs on offer for next half term can be found below. All of the clubs will be available to book via Parentpay at 4 pm on Sunday 14 May. It may take a couple of minutes for them all to appear so please bear with us. If children are interested in joining the choir, please email the office directly (this is not bookable via Parentpay).

All clubs will begin week commencing Monday 5 June 2023.The charge per session is 50p per child per club, PLEASE make a note of the dates that the clubs run AND the dates they are not on.

Please only sign up if you can attend each week as there will be no refunds if your child is unable to attend a session. Importantly, please let the office know on the day if your child can’t attend a session.
