Consistent attendance is one of the strongest predictors of academic success and helps young people develop important life habits. Research repeatedly shows that pupils with high attendance:

* Have significantly improved life chances by increasing academic achievement.

* Are more likely to access further education.

* Will have strong social skills.

* Have enhanced future employment prospects.

Pupils who attend regularly are more likely to secure stable jobs, earn more over their lifetime and build the personal and professional skills needed for long-term success.

Severe Weather Arrangements

As the weather gets colder, please be aware of the academy's plan should the weather deteriorate and we need to close.

A decision will be made by 7am to close the academy. An email will be sent to the first contact of all parents via Arbor.

Our Facebook page will be updated. Our website page will be updated. Please ensure you are registered with Arbor to ensure you receive emails from the academy. Thank you.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We would like to inform you about an upcoming change to the way detentions are recorded and communicated to families; this will start on Monday 24th November. As many of you know, we have been using Arbor to manage our behaviour and detention systems. While Arbor provides several helpful tools, we have found that it does not offer the level of detail or flexibility we require to track and communicate detentions as clearly and accurately as we would like.

To ensure that parents receive timely, consistent, and reliable information, we will be moving to a revised system for logging and notifying detentions. This new process will allow staff to record key details more efficiently and will reduce the chance of errors or missed communication. We believe this change will improve communication between home and school and ensure that you have the information you need to support your child.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

On Wednesday 12th November our KS3 Netball teams jumped into action with their first fixture against Selwood. This year has seen a huge increase in numbers for Netball club with at least 30 pupils attending most weeks, which has been amazing.

All pupils got the opportunity to play throughout the afternoon. Selwood brought some strong teams who challenged our pupils but Oakfield showed great resilience and teamwork. In particular our defensive players showed great resilience against some strong attack from Selwood. Unfortunately on this occasion Selwood were the stronger team.

Some outstanding individual performances were recognised and named as players of the match. In Year 7 these were Freddie Barrell, Esme Cowler, Isabella Bello Cordoba and Rose Harris. In Year 8 they went to Martha Marks, Leah Brickell and Brooke Britton. Well done to them all.

Also a massive well done to Esme Cowler and Rose Harris for stepping up and playing with the Year 8 team. A great afternoon of Netball - well done to everyone involved. Mrs Stickley

KS3 Football Club is cancelled on Monday 24th November. Football Cub will resume on 1st December. Apologies for any inconvenience.
