Behaviour Curriculum Update
Zones of Regulation: In lesson 9, children learned about impulses and choices and how to decide when regulation is needed. Children learned the phrase Stop, Opt, Goencouraging them to pause before acting, consider what options are available and which of those choices would help build towards their goals. You can support your child to stop and think about options if they are faced with a trigger/spark at home.

Message from Book Club
We're enjoying meeting so many children on a Friday afternoon as they visit us to buy books. Thank you parents and carers for your support. Our newest customers from reception class are so good at saving up for their books.
Time is just whizzing by and our remaining sessions this year are: 28 November & 5 December
We also hope to see lots of you at our stall at the Christmas Bazaar on 11 December. Do come and try to win a book!
Finally, just a note re: pricing. We do try to keep our costs down but as with many things we are noticing increases despite efficient shopping. Some books will see a small increase in price moving forwards, but compared to, for instance a comic, remain great value for money. Children continue to be welcome to bring small amounts to save up for a book over several weeks.

Bryon Highlights:
This week we started our topic on transport. We read the story Duck in the Truck and were able to join in using the pattern and rhyme, as well as apply our phonic knowledge to read key words from the text. We have looked at different types of transport and their features, and we even made a bus in the classroom, along with tickets for the passengers and a bus stop to wait at. We also built our own model vehicles using junk modelling materials.
Yarlett Highlights:
This week, our highlight in Yarlett Class has been learning about different types of animals. The children have loved exploring how animals can be sorted in groups such as mammals, birds, reptiles and more. They all showed great curiosity, asked thoughtful questions, and worked brilliantly together and independently to sort and classify the animals. It's been wonderful to see their understanding grow this week!
Blabey Highlights:
In Blabey Class this week, we have enjoyed learning about the life cycle of plants. We have learned how some plants stay dormant over winter, some die away, while others store enough energy to survive. We particularly enjoyed dissecting flowers, trying to spot ovules inside.
Morpurgo Highlights:
This week, our highlight has been the children’s fantastic descriptive writing inspired by our class novel Room 13 by Robert Swindells. The whole class showed excellent use of ambitious vocabulary to enhance their descriptions. It was wonderful to see them really thinking about the reader and crafting writing that was atmospheric, detailed, and engaging. Well done, Morpurgo Class.
