School Council: How does it work? Every fortnight after half term, an item is discussed in ‘Class Council’ during PSHE. The elected school councillors take notes to represent the class views. Councillors then feedback these views on behalf of their class to the Head Teacher. Decisions may be made; reflected on and feedback is then shared in the next ‘Class Council’ alongside a new item on the agenda. The cycle repeats. This two-way process ensures all children are regularly given the opportunity to express their feelings and thoughts around the topics that matter to them. We all work together to influence positive change in our school. What was the impact last year? -Purchased new resources to improve the lunchtime experience -Voted on how we wanted to spend enrichment time at Christmas -Influenced the genre and topics of new books purchased for the library -Influenced the reward & recognition systems we have today -Gave vital feedback to teachers about the subject disciplines we like the most – and least
