Thank you to everyone who entered the PTA pumpkin competition, we had many entries that were creative and varied. It has been a joy seeing all the children’s designs. The winners and runners up are listed in the newsletter below and the prizes have been passed to the children. Praise assemblies today were full of celebrations, including bronze awards, Value champions, PTA pumpkin winners and Poetry competition winners. A lovely celebration for the end of the half term!
Parents evening is on Wednesday 13th November, there is further information about this in the newsletter. The booking system is already open following the letter that has been sent home via the ParentApp on Monday. Entrance for parents this year, it will be through the Old Hall via the Lodge Gate, not the main office.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank families for your support this half term and also to extend my thanks to the staff team. Everyone is ready for a good break, so I do hope you all have a lovely half term. Please remember it is winter uniform for all children from R-Y6 after the holidays. We look forward to seeing you on Monday 4th November.

On Thursday 7th November 2024, the Sefton School Aged Immunisation Service will be visiting Churchtown Primary School to roll out their annual flu campaign for children in Nursery through to Year 6. Well done to all of the children who participated in the P.T.A. Design a Pumpkin Competition. All of the designs were extremely creative – we were very impressed with all of the entries. There was glitter, leaves, feathers, pens, sequins and sweet wrappers - to name but a few of the resources that were used!

National Poetry Day 2024 Homework Competition Winners
Thursday 3rd October 2024 was National Poetry Day and this year’s theme was ‘Counting’, to mark 30 years of the event. The day is an annual, national celebration that encourages everyone to create, experience and share poetry with family and friends.
To mark this special day, children from across the school were encouraged to write a poem to celebrate this year’s theme. Our winners from each year group are below:

Our winners received a book as a prize for their fantastic poetry and their winning entries were shared in our celebration assemblies on Friday. Well done to all children who participated, there we so many fantastic entries to choose from.

This week, Year 1 enjoyed a visit from Active Sefton to support our DT learning on food and nutrition.
We were introduced to the Eatwell guide and discussed positive food choices, before enjoying a delicious smoothie.
