15th April 2016 Dear Parents and Carers

Harmonic Workshops We have arranged for all the children in school to learn how to play the harmonica in a series of workshops on Tuesday 26th April. This will be concluded by a special assembly at 3.00pm to demonstrate to parents what they have learnt, so please come and join us for this. The harmonica, or mouth organ, is a hand-held rectangular musical instrument. As the musician inhales and exhales into evenly spaced air channels, the metal reeds within produce musical tones. Since its beginnings in the early 1800s, the harmonica has been used in variety of musical forms, from classical to folk to country to rock to blues to jazz. There will be no charge for the workshops. The company will bring harmonicas that the children can use or the children can purchase their own on the day. All the shared harmonicas will be sprayed with anti-bacterial gel between users. However if you would prefer your child to have their own they will cost £5.00, brand new (discounted from £7.49) – then your child could continue to learn! We think this will be an exciting and fun packed day. Please return the slip below by Wednesday 20th April so that I can order enough new harmonicas and know how many rental ones we will need. Yours sincerely
