A little while ago when Victoria was having ‘donut days‘, I ventured out and visited some of the wonderful charities we support.
When the folk at the Umbrella Dementia Cafés in Blackburn celebrated their 2021 Christmas in July, I was there enjoying a cuppa with the chorus, singing Away in a Manger and Silent Night. They are doing such great work, see page 4.
Then, off to Ocean Grove to meet Lana and Anthony from Feed Me, for the first time. We had donated a truckload of kitchen equipment and there it was cooking up a storm.
John Foreman and the Aussie Pops Orchestra decided a concert was in order, so we designed and printed the 48-page program and went to enjoy the show at the Hamer Hall.
Foodbank Vic had been under the pump for at least 18 months and in desperate need of a refrigerated Mercedes Sprinter… So, we took care of that.
And, on a cold Saturday night we enjoyed the camaraderie of the Women’s Spirit Project walkers who were at the 45klm mark of their 70klm walk. Very inspiring stuff.
We met with Matt Runnalls of Mindfull Aus who is dedicated to improving the mental health of young people. We’ve just redesigned all his print collateral!
Over at the Peter Mac Cancer Centre I stood gob-smacked at the incredible new Gamma Knife technology. It brought back some memories. See my story on page 12.
Along the way we had a few delicious sushi lunches with Brendan Nottle and Tameka Buckley from Melbourne Salvos Project 614. Brendan and Tameka always seem to be dealing with passing storms and we are very grateful that they do.
So in 2022... let’s all put on our dancing shoes and start dancing in the rain.
Best Wishes,
