Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley reflects on her evolution from supermodel to beauty founder, entrepreneur and creative force, sharing insights on work ethic, brand-building, and life beyond the spotlight.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s voice carries the confidence of someone who has long wrestled with the traditional boundaries of fashion and reinvented them on her own terms. Best known initially as one of the world’s most iconic models, she now stands at the helm of her own beauty venture — navigating the demanding intersection of creativity and commerce.

“I remember picking up the phone to my agent, checking every day what options had come in,” she reflects on the moment she knew it was time to take control of her professional destiny. “And I remember getting off the phone and being so fed up with my life being at the mercy of [other] people’s decisions. It was in that moment that I thought, if I want to make stuff happen, I have to be really proactive.”

Her transition from model to entrepreneur wasn’t by accident it was strategic. For years, Rosie worked with brands, observed industry leaders, and absorbed lessons she would later apply to her own endeavors. “I’ve been really fortunate over the years to work with a lot of female founders and be able to witness the way they work,” she told PORTER, highlighting why collaboration and mentorship have been central to her business philosophy.

At the heart of Rosie’s business ambitions was Rose Inc. a beauty brand built on her long-standing passion for skincare and makeup. The concept was simple yet deeply personal: authenticity and performance. “I knew very early on… that if I was going to launch a brand, it had to stand for something beyond just pretty packaging, pretty colors and swatches,” she said, underscoring her commitment to purpose-driven products.

Her approach to product design mirrored her ethos of understated luxury. Discussing the initial collection, she explained, “As I’ve gotten older I’ve found myself more and more drawn to minimalism and the beauty and simplicity within it and actually how luxurious minimalism is.”

Rosie’s work ethic has been a theme since early in her career. She once summed it up plainly: “I have the same attitude with work I like to go to work, I like to work really hard, I like to give everything my all, I like to try things that are new.”

This drive, she explained in earlier interviews, was about forging her own success rather than relying on the context around her. “That’s never been it for me… I’m an ambitious girl. I love to work, and it makes me feel good. I like to make something of my own.”

"It is an incredible honor to partner with such an iconic jeweler with a rich history. I am very proud to be a part of this legacy and the Tiffany & Co. family.”

41st Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz 2026 Where Winter Meets Its Most Elegant Sport

January 23–25, 2026

Every last weekend in January, St. Moritz turns into the world capital of polo: Since 1985, when snow polo had its world premiere here, teams from around the world compete for the Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz on the frozen lake of St. Moritz.

The Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz is the world’s only high-goal tournament on snow. The three days of the tournament stand for high-class polo played against the magnificent backdrop of the snow-capped mountains of the Engadin Valley and social events both on the lake and in the first-class hotels in St. Moritz.

A Tournament Like No Other

The 2026 edition will once again host elite international teams, drawing world-class players, patrons, and enthusiasts from Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. The rules remain adapted for snow, the pace remains electric, and the stakes both sporting and social are unmistakably high.

What sets Snow Polo St. Moritz apart is its atmosphere. Spectators arrive not just to watch the game, but to be part of a living tableau of Alpine chic. Snow Polo St. Moritz continues to evolve without losing its soul.

Sustainability initiatives, refined hospitality experiences, and a renewed focus on the welfare of horses ensure that the tournament remains as responsible as it is glamorous.

Played on the frozen surface of Lake St. Moritz, Snow Polo is a thrilling reinterpretation of a centuries-old sport. Horses thunder across compacted snow, their breath visible in the cold air, while riders wrapped in cashmere layers beneath tailored polo whites demonstrate extraordinary control and athleticism under uniquely demanding conditions. La Dolfina captured its fifth Argentine Women’s Open Polo Championship title

One day before the highly anticipated final of the 132nd Argentine Open Polo Championship—between La Natividad–La Dolfina and Ellerstina–Indios Chapaleufú, scheduled for Sunday, December 7—it was the women’s turn. On Saturday, December 6, the final of the 9th Argentine Women’s Open Polo Championship was played, featuring for the third consecutive year the same two teams on the field.

La Dolfina (Hope Arellano 10, Cata Lavinia 8, Mia Cambiaso 9, and Milly Hine 9) and UAE Polo (Hazel Jackson 10, Candelaria Fernández Araujo 10, Nina Clarkin 9, and Maite Marré 7), both teams totaling 36 goals of women’s handicap. A noteworthy fact: among the eight players, Cata Lavinia and Maite Marré won their first-ever Argentine Women’s Open title. With introductions complete, we headed to Palermo’s Field No. 2 to find out whether La Dolfina would win again after two years, or if UAE Polo would claim a three-peat.

Mia Cambiaso opened the scoring with a spectacular goal for La Dolfina, but UAE’s response was immediate, off the mallet of Hazel Jackson, closing the first chukker tied 1–1. Hazel herself capitalized on a La Dolfina mistake in the second chukker, stealing the ball from Milly Hine and scoring to make it 2–1. In the final seconds, a great play by Mia Cambiaso nearly produced the equalizer, but it didn’t quite come off. Revenge came early in the third chukker with a brilliant backhand goal by Milly Hine, and shortly afterward a spectacular run by Mia Cambiaso gave the Cañuelas-based team a 3–2 lead midway through that chukker. Milly Hine then converted a 30-yard penalty, and in what was her best chukker of a very evenly matched game, La Dolfina went into halftime leading 4–2.

The match seemed to lose some pace in the fourth chukker; nevertheless, La Dolfina had recovered the ground lost in the first two chukkers. Milly Hine extended La Dolfina’s lead to 5–2 by converting another 30-yard penalty, the only goal of the fourth period. Meanwhile, UAE was trying to overturn a 4–0 deficit over two chukkers, which they managed four minutes into the fifth chukker thanks to their star player, Hazel Jackson. It was now 5–3 for La Dolfina, who continued to pull away during that penultimate chukker—Hope Arellano scored two consecutive goals, a 40-yard penalty and a field goal, as La Dolfina took control and stretched the lead to 7–3. But UAE refused to give in—once again Hazel found the goalposts. With just one chukker left to play, La Dolfina led 7–4.

La Dolfina began to close out the match in the final chukker. First, Mia Cambiaso scored to make it 8–4; immediately afterward, and following a very good play, a pass from Hope Arellano ended in another goal by Mia Cambiaso. With just over a minute and a half remaining, La Dolfina was already dreaming of a new title. The clock kept running, time ran out, and La Dolfina won 9–4, claiming the Argentine Women’s Open Polo Championship after two years—its fifth title for the Cañuelas women’s team, and the first for Cata Lavinia

La Dolfina not only played a great tournament, but also built a well-deserved victory with an impressive comeback in a match that initially seemed destined to be dominated by UAE. It is worth remembering that this year the women’s tournament featured three teams with up to 36 goals of women’s handicap; the third was La Hache Pax, with 32 goals (Milagros Sánchez 8, Clara Cassino 8, Lia Salvo 9, and Elena Venot 7). The tournament was played entirely at the Argentine Polo Association grounds in Pilar.

It is also interesting to note that both La Dolfina and UAE, who reached the final undefeated, had four titles each, and that the Cañuelas-based team has appeared in all nine finals. As mentioned earlier, La Dolfina and UAE Polo have played this final for the third consecutive year—while La Dolfina last won it in 2022, UAE claimed the title in 2023 and 2024, albeit under the name El Overo Z7 UAE. In any case, they are the defending champions and were aiming for a hat trick, their third consecutive title.

JEWELLERY & WATCHES

Keeping time on the world of fine jewellery and luxury watches, from interviews to the most wanted exclusive timepieces and jewellery

At first glance, the impression is one of effortless continuity. The Flat Jubilee R bracelet flows into the case as if shaped from a single idea, not assembled from parts. There is no interruption, no visual pause—just a smooth, confident line that speaks to refinement earned through restraint. It’s a design language that feels both contemporary and inevitable, as though it has always existed and we’re only now catching up to it.

The dial draws you closer. Its honeycomb motif, created exclusively for the Land-Dweller, plays with light in subtle, architectural ways. Each cell reflects a balance of precision and artistry, echoing the watch’s core philosophy: innovation that doesn’t shout, but resonates. It’s a surface that rewards attention, revealing depth and texture with every change of angle.

Turn the watch over, and the true story unfolds. Through the open case back, the Land-Dweller reveals its inner life—an exhibition of mechanical ambition. Here, the revolutionary Dynapulse escapement works in harmony with a state-of-the-art oscillator, allowing the movement to beat at a rare 5Hz frequency. The result is not just enhanced precision, but a glimpse into the future of high-frequency watchmaking, where performance and reliability move in lockstep.

The Land-Dweller is the product of years of research and development, but it doesn’t feel like a conclusion. It feels like a beginning. A platform for ideas yet to come. A watch designed not only to mark time, but to expand what timekeeping can be. In that sense, the Land-Dweller lives up to its name—grounded, assured, and quietly opening new horizons.

ALLURE: THE OPULENCE OF MARBLE IN THE NEW CASTLECORE AESTHETIC

Fairy-tale inspirations, medieval references, and an imaginative world with a romantic and "dark" allure are redefining one of the most relevant trends in contemporary design: Castlecore.

This aesthetic originated as a reaction to hyper-modernity and minimalism, and today it evolves into more dramatic forms, also fueled by cinema's renewed interest in gothic literature classics – from Luc Besson's new version of Dracula to Guillermo del Toro's reinterpretation of Frankenstein.

The result is a composite universe, where stone, wood, velvet, and wrought iron intertwine with sculpted surfaces, deep textures, and atmospheres rich in history, marking the decisive return of maximalism, with wall-to-wall bookshelves, thick fabrics, "heavy" textures, and matte finishes.

In this context, Cotto d'Este, thanks to its Allure, Lithos, Wanderwall, and Advantage collections with their refined aesthetics, interprets the dark Castlecore trend with authority and vision, offering surfaces capable of shaping interiors with character, iconic style, and timeless elegance.

Grandeur and elegance are the essence of Allure, which mimics one of the purest and most noble materials there is, marble, transforming it into an element that blends seamlessly with the theatrical sophistication of Castlecore Dark. The collection explores the narrative power of stone through surfaces with a strong visual presence, perfect for interiors that combine historical influences and modern tension to create a unique and powerful balance.

Its six variants are divided into two special selections: Héritage which includes Calacatta, Paonazzetto, and Tundra J. – pays tribute to the lustrous perfection and classic aesthetic of marble; Scénique –featuring Alaska and Orobico – exalts a bold and opulent spirit represented by exotic and colourful marbles with dramatic veining. In the latter, Orobico commands the space with strong hues and dynamic veining, transforming any wall into an expressive backdrop, where light and shadow accentuate its monumental nature. Produced in Kerlite 6plus – 6.5 mm-thick laminated porcelain stoneware – and available in an impressive 120x278 cm format (as well as 60x120 and 120x120) in the Glossy or Touch finish, Allure combines durability, a sense of lightness, and surprising realism to offer a solution that is perfect for projects requiring visual continuity and outstanding aesthetic quality.

CANNAGE COLLECTION by DIOR

At each of his défilés held in the salons of 30 avenue Montaigne, Monsieur Dior invited his guests to sit on delicate Napoleon III-style chairs, the seats of which were magnified by refined cannage. In homage to this heritage, Cordelia de Castellane, Artistic Director of Dior Maison, reinvents this iconic motif through audacious interpretations, borrowing from the codes of tartan and playing with optical effects. These wonderfully graphic variations – where light tones interact with deep shades –are featured on throws and cushions, truly desirable objects that promise unique comfort, accompanied by irresistible Miss Dior vases and large trays. The ultimate surprises, completing this exclusive series, are exceptional marquetry boxes and vases in straw designed by Osanna Visconti. The fruit of virtuoso savoir-faire, these unprecedented models can be discovered in a selection of Dior stores. A celebration of creativity in all its forms.

DRAWING, PHOTOGRAPHY

In her ongoing dialogue with the House of Dior, photographer Brigitte Niedermair elevates fashion imagery into a study of form, shadow, and poetic restraint. Her work for NIEDERMAIR, DIOR. DRAWING, PHOTOGRAPHY transcends the traditional boundaries of fashion photography, approaching each composition as if it were a drawing pared back, intentional, and sculptural.

Niedermair’s signature visual language graphic, precise, and quietly powerful transforms Dior’s silhouettes into architectural statements. Every frame feels like a meditation on femininity and craftsmanship: the curve of a sleeve, the tension of fabric, the geometry of light. Through her lens, Dior’s couture becomes both subject and symbol, a modern still life rendered with painterly discipline.

THE WORKSHOP COLLECTION BY PANARIA CERAMICA IN THE HEART

OF NEAPOLITAN HOSPITALITY

In the heart of Naples’ Chiaia district, Fuajè Concept Rooms offers a new vision of hospitality where time slows down and every detail tells a story of beauty, culture, and authenticity. Set within a typical Neapolitan apartment, the space welcomes guests into refined interiors that combine the intimacy of home with the elegance of a boutique hotel.

Inspired by the foyer of a theatre, Fuajè is a place where waiting becomes experience, in a continuous dialogue between art, design, and a sense of place. Each room is a tribute to Naples, with symbolic colours evoking the city's character: the grey of piperno stone, the yellow of tuff, the green of Mediterranean pines, and the deep blue of the gulf.

Kenya

The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp

Dawn arrives softly in the Masai Mara, ushered in by tangerine skies and the distant rumble of hooves. As the first rays break across the savannah, The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp awakens with a quiet elegance its canvas-and-timber architecture blending seamlessly into the wilderness, as though it has always belonged to this land.

This is not a safari camp that asks guests to trade indulgence for immersion, it masterfully offers both. Each tented suite feels like a private cocoon suspended between untamed nature and refined luxury. Imagine polished hardwood floors under bare feet, a king-sized bed draped in Egyptian cotton, and an outdoor deck where coffee arrives steaming just as elephants wander the riverbank below. From freestanding soaking tubs to personal plunge pools, indulgence is less an amenity than a design philosophy.

But it’s the soundtrack that defines the experience. There are no city sirens here only the low call of lions at dusk, the pulse of migrating wildebeest, and the rustle of acacia leaves caught in the wind. Evenings unfold around a firepit, lantern light flickering against the canvas walls, with cocktails infused with local botanicals and stories shared by Maasai guides whose knowledge is as deep as the landscape they protect.

Safari excursions take on the rhythm of the earth sunrise drives that chase the gilded silhouettes of giraffes, and afternoon journeys where leopards stretch lazily on sunwarmed rock outcrops. Guides don’t simply point out animals; they narrate the tapestry of life that moves across the plains with grace and danger in equal measure. Every sighting whether a cheetah sprint or a newborn zebra taking its first steps feels like a privilege.

Cuisine is a curated celebration of place. Seasonal, local ingredients transform into dishes that carry the essence of East Africa with an international polish. Lunch might arrive as an elegant picnic on the open plains, while dinner is a multi-course affair served beneath a canopy of stars so brilliant they feel unreal. Sustainability is woven into the dining narrative quietly luxurious, consciously thoughtful.

The camp’s spa rituals pay homage to Maasai healing traditions, using natural oils and rhythmic massages to untether the body from the demands of modern life. Treatments unfold in outdoor sanctuaries where silence is its own therapy, broken only by birdsong and the babbling of nearby streams.

Perhaps the most profound luxury is found in the camp’s intentional intimacy. With limited tents, no crowds, and a staff-to-guest ratio that borders on telepathic, there’s never a moment when one feels hurried, overlooked, or disconnected. Service is warm rather than formal rooted in genuine hospitality that reflects the heart of the region.

Winter Resorts aren’t just for Ski

Tyrol’s Schlosshotel Fiss

Snowy mountains are for adventure - but that doesn’t mean clipping into a binding. There’s winter virtue too in getting lost in the view, or a pampering spa treatment or book. In every ski group there’s one (at least) who doesn’t want to ski, board or free ride, and Schlosshotel Fiss gets that. In the popular Serfaus-FissLadis region - part of the Austrian Tyrol - it’s a 5-star, familyfriendly resort with an exceptional blend of alpine ski-in-and-out adventure as well as relaxation….

The hotel has its own ski and rental shop so if downhill or cross country is your thing you’ll be in the right place there’s even a ski elevator accessible from inside the hotel that pops you right onto the slopes, just a 2 min ski to the nearest lift… And there’s more adrenaline-fueling with tobogganing, show shoe or winter hiking, paragliding, snowbiking and even a zip-wire for adrenalinejunkies.

For the rest, there’s 5,000 m2 of wellness and spa facilities: a Family Spa with sauna infusions, scrubs, and child-friendly treatments and an Adult Spa with quiet zones, Finnish panorama sauna, and treatment rooms for signature treatments. There’s a 250 m2 panorama pool with a 37-metre swim length and views, a heated outdoor saltwater jacuzzi and sunbathing lawn for crisp winter days as well as relaxation galleries and lounging islands.

In the winter evenings, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis puts on adventure nights, with an evening ski show with light effects, music, and fireworks and also ‘Nightflow’, a spectacular ski and snowboard show with acrobatics and live entertainment. There are romantic evenings with light shows, and regular live music and cultural events in the village.

Buxton

Buxton Crescent Hotel & Spa – a Thermal Spa and Foodie Heaven

Part of the Champneys collection, the Buxton Crescent Hotel and Spa is paradise for those seeking a relaxing, luxury spa experience. It offers a unique opportunity to bathe in Buxton’s famous therapeutic thermal waters. The huge spa runs over three floors and is inspired by the opulent bath houses of the Georgian era. Its low lighting and cavernous spaces make it a real place to escape and unwind. The facilities they have are extensive and they place a huge emphasis on a spa trip being both for mental relaxation, and physical health and healing.

With a heated roof-top pool with integrated jacuzzi, a Victorian thermal pool full of Buxton’s famous mineral water, and a serene relaxation pool under a starry night sky, there is something for all bathers. The pools are accompanied by a variety of saunas and steam rooms, as well as an ice fountain, a salt cave, and 22 treatment rooms. All focussing on healing the body and the mind. If you want to take that healing one step further, the spa offers their unique, bookable CO2 Buxton Mineral Bath treatment, where Buxton’s thermal mineral water is combined with carbon dioxide gas in a bathtub, to improve microcirculation, lower blood pressure, and reduce inflammation.

The Buxton Crescent Hotel itself has a five-star rating, and offers a range of luxurious rooms and suites, along with contemporary restaurant 1789. Despite the hotel’s incredible spa, and elegant rooms, the dining under Executive Chef James Redmond is the real jewel in its crown. The food is of an exceptional quality, with varied and interesting menus. Specialising in modern but traditional British cuisine with some international touches, it’s the perfect location for a hearty Sunday Lunch, or a more elegant evening dining experience. Sunday Lunch is a real feast, with traditional roast dinners served alongside hearty, seasonal puddings. Their attention to detail in terms of flavour and presentation is exceptional, and the portions are generous and filling. You are getting the quality of fine dining, without the tiny portions. At night the restaurant is well-known for its steaks and variety of sauces and accompaniments. There are also lighter fish options, as well as vegetarian and vegan ones. Just don’t skip on their classic British desserts, served with added flair and flavour combinations.

There’s no doubt that the Buxton Crescent Hotel and Spa is a place to retreat to for some time out and some timeless British elegance. Whether you are a foodie, or a spa lover, there’s something for everyone. The hotel has valet parking too, taking all the stress out of your staycation. Text written by contributor Laura Pearson

Off The Rails: InterContinental Khao Yai Resort

Often compared to the Italian region of Tuscany, Thailand’s Khao Yai has miraculously remained under the radar of mass tourism. On the final stretch of the two-and-a-half-hour drive from Bangkok, concrete sprawl finally gives way to dense evergreen jungle, where the brilliantly unconventional InterContinental Khao Yai Resort welcomes guests with an alluring narrative of train travel extravaganza.

Drawing inspiration from the turn of the 20th century, when Khao Yai served as a rail getaway to northeastern Thailand, award-winning architect and interior designer Bill Bensley had the bold vision of transforming decommissioned carriages into unique accommodations. The resort is home to 45 guestrooms in the main building and 19 repurposed heritage suites and villas, each referencing various Asian destinations through distinctive textiles, carvings, and colour schemes.

Expansive windows, open-air spaces, and generous terraces soften the boundary between indoor and outdoor living, keeping guests closely connected to the surrounding natural wonders. From flamboyant cabins dressed in handcrafted Jim Thompson fabrics to serene, all-white abodes flanked by trompe l'oeil windows, there is a style to suit every aesthetic.

Bensley’s signature presence is evident in every corner of the resort. Distinctive railway memorabilia, custom furnishings, and original artwork – handpicked from local artisans, the Lincoln Antiques Market in London and the Red Building vintage hub in Bangkok – enhance the sense of place and lend depth to the InterContinental Khao Yai Resort’s overarching theme.

Upon check-in, guests are guided to an area reminiscent of a traditional ticket counter. Evoking the charm of a bygone era, this museum-like pavilion features authentic trunks, tickets, signboards, and even an oldschool stationmaster’s bell that heralds arrivals, setting the stage for an immersive journey back in time.

Framed by Khao Yai’s mountainous spine, the 100-acre enclave offers unparalleled privacy. Meandering pathways shaded by a dense canopy of nearly 30,000 trees, invite thrilling encounters with abundant wildlife, including the graceful black swans that reside at the aptly named Swan Lake.

Just picture stepping off the train and slipping straight into an outdoor pool set against a pristine jungle backdrop! A refined interplay of yesteryear glamour and contemporary chic, the bespoke villas – fitted with raised platform beds, intricate wallpaper, ornate upholstery, marble tiles and outdoor Victorian tubs – feel like richly layered cinematic sets, alive with character, atmosphere, and a sense of unfolding story.

Anchored by two restaurants and two bars, the culinary offerings at InterContinental Khao Yai Resort are perfectly in tune with the property’s design identity. Somying’s Kitchen, the all-day dining venue with retro station café sensibilities, opens the day with a delightful breakfast. Seasonal ingredients sourced from trusted community farms around Khao Yai come together in a first- class passage from farm to table, spanning authentic Thai fare and international favourites. Adjacent to Somying’s Kitchen, the contemporary Terminus Bar continues the main leitmotif poolside.

Poirot, named after Agatha Christie’s famed detective, captures the elegance of the legendary Orient Express. Featured in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026, the restaurant occupies a beautifully restored railcar complete with a treetop deck overlooking Swan Lake. Refined interiors that exude graceful sophistication –polished black leather chairs, gold-edged plates, and the soft glow of vintage lamps – create a dining scene worthy of Hercule Poirot himself. Enthralling guests with elegant presentations, the menu takes them on a leisurely gastronomic journey through France, Italy, and Turkey, where fresh seafood and premium cuts take centre stage.

Ease into the evening at Papillon, a dimly lit jazz bar that serves classic French cocktails, fine champagnes, wines, and whiskies. Channelling the mysterious glamour of “Murder on the Orient Express”, its speakeasy ambience sparks effortless social interactions that linger long into the night.

And is there anything more aristocratic than an afternoon tea tradition? Served in the glamorous ambience of the Tea Carriage, an elaborate array of sweet and savoury delicacies is accented with a local flair. Accompanied by free-flow premium teas, coffee, and optional champagne, this beautifully crafted set allows for nearly limitless pairings and flavour sensations.

Dedicate some time to your wellbeing and step into the world of care and ultimate relaxation at “Back on Track: Spa”. Entwined with the gnarled roots of a fig tree, this masterfully restored carriage is a visual metaphor for the omnipresent bond between humans and nature. Fostering a deeper appreciation for its stunning locale, the menu draws on indigenous, ethically sourced ingredients from coldpressed organic fruits and seed oils to distillations of ginger, plai, turmeric, ginger lily, and frankincense. Create your own version of bliss by choosing from a thoughtfully calibrated selection of restorative body massages, organic facials, lush body scrubs, rejuvenating wraps, and soothing hair treatments. Tap into the world of wellness and maintain a more centred state of mind through Hatha yoga, meditation, and pilates offered in group or private sessions led by a resident healer.

One of the resort’s most remarkable pillars is its unwavering commitment to sustainability – a guiding principle at the heart of Bensley’s design philosophy. Local materials were prioritised to reduce environmental impact, while the surrounding natural landscape has been meticulously preserved, emerging as a quiet protagonist in the resort’s storytelling. In line with IHG’s Green Engage program, energy-efficient systems, water conservation measures, and waste reduction are seamlessly woven into daily operations.

Just a quick 20-minute drive to the nearest entrance, Khao Yai National Park has long been revered by Thai royalty. With 50 kilometres of hiking and cycling trails winding through a landscape dotted with caves, waterfalls, grasslands, bamboo groves, and even ancient volcanic terrains, adventurous guests will find endless entertainment, however long their sojourn aboard the InterContinental Khao Yai Resort may be. From ziplines and river rafting to visits to local communities, golfing, and wine tasting, there is something for every kind of explorer.

Awarded one MICHELIN Key for the second consecutive year, InterContinental Khao Yai Resort promises a truly unforgettable voyage into the golden age of rail travel, where every touchpoint is carefully curated to ensure a memorable stay.

LVMH Promotes Laura Burdese to CEO of Bulgari

In a move that blends continuity with strategic evolution, LVMH the world’s leading luxury conglomerate has appointed Laura Burdese as the next Chief Executive Officer of Bulgari, the iconic Roman jewelry house. The change at the top will take effect on July 1, 2026, signaling a new chapter for a Maison that has emerged as a cornerstone of LVMH’s Watches & Jewelry division.

Burdese, a seasoned executive with nearly a decade inside the LVMH ecosystem, steps into the role at a moment when the global luxury market continues to show resilience in hard luxury jewelry and watches even as broader economic headwinds persist.

Before her appointment as CEO, Burdese’s journey through LVMH was marked by deliberate progression. She began her tenure with the group as CEO of Acqua di Parma, the storied Italian fragrance and lifestyle brand. In 2022, she joined Bulgari as Chief Marketing Officer, quickly becoming a key architect of the brand’s narrative elevation refining its positioning and modernizing communication in crucial markets. Her leadership earned her the role of Deputy CEO in July 2024, laying essential groundwork for the transition ahead.

In a statement announcing the new appointment on LinkedIn, LVMH and Stéphane Bianchi, Group Managing Director of LVMH and CEO of LVMH Watches & Jewelry, reflected on the significance of this transition:

“We wish Laura every success in her new role, and we thank Jean-Christophe for his leadership.”

Bianchi stressed the continuity this decision represents, noting that the nomination of Burdese “opens a new chapter for Bulgari” while honoring the brand elevation she helped orchestrate alongside her predecessor.

Burdese succeeds Jean-Christophe Babin, who has led Bulgari for more than a decade and will remain deeply connected to the Maison as Chairman of the Bulgari Board, CEO of Bulgari Hotels Business Unit, and President of the Bulgari Foundation. Under Babin’s stewardship, Bulgari reaffirmed its identity as a quintessential Roman jeweler, expanded its global footprint across watchmaking and luxury hospitality, and deepened its commitment to Italian craftsmanship.

Bianchi’s comments further underscored the esteem in which both leaders are held within LVMH: “Jean-Christophe has shaped the success of TAG Heuer and Bulgari while creating unique paths within their respective industries,” he said, expressing confidence that Babin’s vision will continue to influence the group’s broader strategic ambitions.

What This Means for Bulgari’s Next Chapter

The appointment of Burdese comes at a time when Bulgari’s core markets particularly Asia are showing renewed vigor. Her tenure as deputy CEO saw a reinvigoration of Bulgari’s appeal in regions like China, where diversification strategies have helped balance geographical sales and strengthen brand relevance.

Activist investor Elliott Management has just made one of its most high-profile moves of the year, taking a stake valued at more than $1 billion in Lululemon Athletica Inc., the Vancouverbased athletic apparel brand that once defined the premium athleisure category. The development marks a dramatic escalation in shareholder involvement at a company navigating slower growth and intensifying competition.

Jane Nielsen: The Candidate for Change

At the center of Elliott’s campaign is Jane Nielsen, a veteran retail executive with deep experience at two storied brands Ralph Lauren and Coach. The activist investor has been working with Nielsen for months, viewing her as a leading candidate to take the helm as Lululemon’s next CEO once McDonald departs.

Elliott’s stake now positions it among Lululemon’s largest shareholders a powerful platform from which it is championing a leadership shift amid the departure of long-time CEO Calvin McDonald, who announced he will step down at the end of January 2026.

Why the Activist Move Matters

The hedge fund’s entry comes at a pivotal moment for Lululemon. After years of torrid growth, the brand has faced challenges keeping its momentum, losing market share to younger competitors and seeing its stock significantly soften from previous peaks. Analysts and investors have increasingly pointed to strategy and leadership as critical turning points for future performance.

In taking its stake, Elliott has signaled that a boardroom recalibration not merely operational tweaks may be essential. Shares of Lululemon jumped on the news, a hint that the market views activist pressure and new leadership as potential inflection points.

Nielsen’s resume resonates with the kind of turnaround expertise Elliott often seeks: at Ralph Lauren she served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer, and earlier, as CFO at Coach she was credited with helping stabilize that business in challenging market conditions ultimately boosting margins and refining operational focus.

Though neither Elliott nor Lululemon has publicly confirmed her candidacy, reporting indicates the investment firm actively supports Nielsen’s potential leadership, positioning her as an executive with the strategic experience to lead a brand reset.

Strategic Stakes for the Brand

For Lululemon, the stakes of this moment go beyond executive titles. The company has faced criticism for straying from its core yoga and performance roots, expanding into lines that haven’t resonated as strongly with its core demographic, and reporting softening sales, particularly in North America. Analysts have suggested that a blend of renewed product focus and disciplined execution hallmarks of Nielsen’s leadership history could be essential to re-energize the brand’s appeal.

The Road Ahead

With McDonald’s exit scheduled for early 2026 and interim leadership in place, Lululemon’s board is now navigating a highstakes CEO search under heightened investor scrutiny. Elliott’s arrival and its clear advocacy for a seasoned retail executive like Nielsen underscores a wider trend of activist influence at major consumer brands. Whether this instigates consensus or contention among shareholders remains to be seen, but the narrative is already reshaping how Wall Street views Lululemon’s next chapter.

As the brand stands at a strategic crossroads, the market’s response suggests optimism that bold engagement and potential leadership changes could translate into renewed relevance and performance in the competitive global athletic apparel landscape.

Jane Nielsen on the potential CEO opportunity

“Lululemon is one of the most powerful brands in retail, defined by exceptional products, deeply engaged communities and significant global potential. I would welcome the chance to discuss this opportunity with the Lululemon board.” — Jane Nielsen, in a statement to the Wall Street Journal reported by Reuters.

Ralph Lauren (NYSE: RL) announces today that it will open a new restaurant as part of its renowned hospitality portfolio, The Polo Bar Ralph Lauren in London. Building on the international acclaim of The Polo Bar, which opened in New York in 2015 and quickly became a widely celebrated and iconic restaurant, the London location will showcase the brand’s signature charm and timeless elegance with a refined, yet welcoming dining experience.

“I have always been inspired by the special charm and heritage of the British way of living. For decades, Ralph Lauren has been inspired by and has had a profound appreciation for British culture and tradition. In 2019, Ralph Lauren became the first American fashion designer to receive an Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his philanthropic efforts and influence on global style.

The Polo Bar Ralph Lauren builds on the Company’s significant and longstanding presence in the United Kingdom, spanning more than 40 years. London is home to Ralph Lauren’s first international flagship store on prestigious New Bond Street that opened in 1981 — an iconic location that continues to stand as a cornerstone in Ralph Lauren’s global retail portfolio. Today, the Company operates 12 stores in London, Ralph’s Coffee locations in New Bond Street and Brompton Cross, and sells its products in leading luxury wholesale doors.

The Company’s dedication to supporting British culture and institutions deepened in 2006 when it became the Official Outfitter of The Championships, Wimbledon, celebrating the heritage and elegance of tennis’s most prestigious tournament. In 2016, Ralph Lauren established The Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research at The Royal Marsden, reinforcing the Company’s long-standing dedication to cancer research and patient care.

Ralph Lauren’s global hospitality portfolio is a natural extension of the World of Ralph Lauren as expressed through the culinary arts, and today includes five restaurants — in New York, Paris, Chicago, Milan and Chengdu — and more than 40 Ralph’s Coffee locations around the world.
