04 CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION POINT OF IMPACT I ANNUAL REPORT 2022

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

POINT Honduras exists to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the most vulnerable children in Honduras by creating spaces where they are loved, educated, fed, and made capable of creating a healthy and integral connection with society. That is why we have created programs that can comprehensively help provide for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

The foundation's programs take place in disadvantaged neighborhoods in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa, such as Las Mercedes, San Juan, Villa Nueva, and February 21 neighborhoods In the year 2022, it was possible to serve 750 schoolage children who received school reinforcement classes, biblical education, and a daily meal. Medical services continued, serving 21,600 patients.

POINT Honduras presents this report as a summary of the activities carried out this year in favor of the development of the children in our centers and in support of their families.

HIGHLIGHT EDUCATION

I. BACKPACK PROGRAM

In Honduras, in-person classes were suspended since the pandemic began in March 2020. With the news that in 2022 the children would return to their on-site classes, POINT relaunched the backpack program. The program aims to ensure the assistance of children at their schools by providing them with a backpack, school supplies, school shoes, and uniforms. Through this program, parents of the children enrolled in the POINT program can reduce expenses and thus guarantee that the children can attend their classes with their primary school needs covered. In February of 2022, we gave 755 backpacks to all the boys and girls enrolled in the POINT centers.

II. CCEPREB

POINT has two government-accredited kindergartens CCEPREB (Spanish acronym for Preschool Education Community Centers), located in the Las Mercedes and San Juan del Norte neighborhoods. The CCEPREBs are based on the methodology called "Play and Learn."

It is a methodology in which the teacher implements carefully planned activities to develop skills in Personal and Social Development, Relationship with the Environment, Communication, and Representation.

In 2022, 54 students graduated from preschool, developing skills and knowledge to facilitate their entry into the primary education system. It is worth mentioning that the CCEPREBs are entirely free of cost, and each student receives school materials throughout the year. One of the most anticipated events is visiting the Chiminike Children's museum.

III. TUTORING PROGRAM

According to national statistics, elementary students are the ones who have dropped out the most from the education system. That is why, year after year, POINT looks for ways to strengthen our tutoring program to promptly support the academic deficiencies that the children may have. From Monday to Friday, the children receive classes based on the national curriculum, helping them strengthen the knowledge acquired in Mathematics and Spanish Grammar. In 2022, 701 children in grades first through sixth benefited from the program.

IV. BIBLE CLASS PROGRAM

As established in POINT's mission, we exist to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the most vulnerable children in Honduras. That is why, under the partnership with Walk

Thru The Bible Honduras, we were the first Latin American country to pilot its "Walk Through the Old and New Testament" program for children. It is a structured Bible study that allows children to learn bible stories in chronological order, accompanied by a gesture to help memorization.

V. SUPPORT FOR EDUCATIONAL ACCESSIBILITY

The support for the project "UNITED FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF ACCESS TO VIRTUAL EDUCATION" continued. The project gave access to Zoom platforms to schools near POINT centers to ensure virtual accompaniment for the hybrid modality in which class was being handled. The schools and institutes that benefited are:

• Centro Educativo Básico Desarrollo Juvenil

• Centro Educativo Básico Simón Bolivar

• Escuela Roberto Suazo Cordova

• Escuela Dr. Jorge Roberto Maradiaga

• Escuela De Ensayo Dionisio de Herrera

• Instituto Central Vicente Cáceres

• Instituto Pineda Ponce

There was also a donation of 15 tablets and a modem with the RACHEL system to POINT, allowing students to access educational material without needing the Internet. This is very helpful so children can expand their knowledge outside of class.

VI. PARENT SEMINAR

Since 2021, POINT has been working with Campus Crusade and Walk Thru The Bible to strengthen families through the Parent Seminar "The Art of Parenthood." Through the experiences of parenting experts, parents are guided to have tools that allow them to parent with timeless principles and intentionality.

VII. INSPIRATA SCHOLARSHIPS

Once again, the Inspirata Foundation awarded educational scholarships in memory of Mrs. Nohemy Peñalva de Barahona and Mr. Erasmo Barahona. Thanks to the scholarship, the young students could buy educational supplies that helped them return to school.

HIGHLIGHT HEALTH

I. MEDICAL CLINICS

The POINT medical clinics were created to guarantee access to health services for the children of the POINT centers and their families. However, seeing the lack of health services available, they were opened to the entire community at a symbolic cost. In 2022, around 21,600 patients were treated. In partnership with government health centers, we promoted vaccination campaigns at our centers. During October, in commemoration of Women's Health Month, 300 women benefited from Pap smears and breast exams in our medical clinics.

II. NUTRITION

In Honduras, it is estimated that over 70% of families are at the poverty level. Poverty is the leading cause of malnutrition since food income is very low. Therefore, our four POINT centers have a feeding program. Nutritious and delicious food is prepared daily in the POINT centers, which ensures a substantial meal for the children. Our nutrition program has enabled children with malnutrition to overcome that condition. In the year 2022, 181,200 meals were served.

21 CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION POINT OF IMPACT I ANNUAL REPORT 2022

III. PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE

One of the greatest needs in Tegucigalpa is timely surgical intervention. Therefore, UTHSC is working with POINT on multiple surgical missions that focus on a wide range of specialties including pediatric surgery, urologic pediatric surgery, and breast surgery. This year we had the opportunity to further formalize this relationship into a partnership to not only provide a clinical service, but also create a professional and academic exchange to help train pediatric surgeons in the region.

I. MISSION TEAMS

POINT receives mission teams throughout the year, which allows the expansion of our services to the communities. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, teams were put on hold, but when restrictions were lifted in 2022, POINT was able to host teams that served in:

• Delivery of meals to POINT families

• Visit an alcoholic rehabilitation center

• Conference for men

• Evangelistic training

• Soccer clinics

• Painting Roberto Suazo Córdova School

• House construction

• Donations to PREPACE Children's Home

• Food donations to dump workers

II. HOME CONSTRUCTION

According to statistics, the housing deficit in Honduras reaches a value of 1.3 million housing units. The income of most homes does not allow access to financing sources to make home improvements. The families of children affiliated with POINT are proof of the harsh reality. But, thanks to donations in 2022, 2 houses were built for POINT families.
