IPLOCA Scholarships

We are pleased to announce the selection of twelve outstanding recipients of the 2025 IPLOCA Scholarships. Each of these exceptional individuals is a child or grandchild of an employee of an IPLOCA member.

This year, we received an impressive 128 applications from highly qualified candidates, making the selection process especially competitive. The Scholarship Committee, comprised of Board members including Committee Chair Saji Khoury, Michael Fakhoury, Gerben Wansink, and Kent Wilfur, undertook the challenging task of reviewing each application.

To ensure fairness and reduce grader bias, z-score normalization was applied during the evaluation of application scores. Reflecting IPLOCA’s international membership and commitment to diversity, the original plan was to award scholarships to the top scorers in each of our eight regions, along with four additional scholarships to the highest overall scorers. However, the only applicant from Europe Northwest had already received a scholarship in the previous year, making them ineligible. As a result, scholarships were awarded to the top scorers in seven regions, with five additional scholarships granted to the highest overall scorers across all regions.
