The final countdown begins for this year's Convention in Izmir!

More than 420 participants will gather in Türkiye's beautiful coastal city for this year's IPLOCA Convention taking place from 15 to 19 September. With just days remaining, here's everything you need to know as you make your final preparations.

Business-to-Business meetings

Nine industry-leading companies have been confirmed as hosts for this year's B2B Meeting sessions: A. Lamb Associates Limited, Allied International S.r.l., Bechtel Energy Inc., Bonatti S.p.A., Gascontrol Polska sp. z o.o., Herrenknecht AG, SICIM S.p.A., Spiecapag and Steeltrade S.r.l. These focused networking opportunities will take place from 14:00 to 16:00 on Thursday, 18 September, with 10-minute one-to-one appointments between buyers, suppliers, operators and contractors. Access is limited to IPLOCA members who indicated their interest when registering for the convention and received confirmation from Executive Secretary Georges Hage.

Knowledge sharing through Poster Sessions

Technical innovation will be showcased during our Poster Sessions during coffee breaks at the Open General Meetings on Thursday and Friday. These interactive displays offer valuable insights into the latest industry developments and best practices.

First Lady's programme: A Turkish cultural experience

Our accompanying partners will enjoy Friday's visit to a charming local horse farm. This picturesque equestrian estate showcases magnificent Mustang, Arabian, and

Haflinger horses, alongside delightful ponies. The experience culminates with an authentic olive oil tasting workshop, where participants will discover the distinctive flavours and premium qualities of Turkish olive oils—an important part of the country's rich gastronomic heritage.

What to Pack

September in Izmir offers ideal weather conditions with pleasant daytime temperatures ranging from 25 to 30°C, cooling to approximately 20°C in the evenings. We recommend:

- Light, comfortable clothing for daytime activities (shorts, skirts, summer dresses)

- Light jacket or sweater for evening events

- Sunglasses and sunscreen for outdoor activities

- Refer to the Dress Code guidelines on page 6 of your convention brochure for formal event requirements

Registration Made Easy

Arriving early for the weekend? Make the most of your time by completing registration during our extended hours:

- Saturday, 13 September: 13:00-18:15

- Sunday, 14 September: 08:45-19:15

This advance registration will help you avoid Monday morning queues and start your convention experience smoothly. For those arriving on Monday: The registration desk will be open from 07:45 to 18:15 every day until Friday, 19 September.
