VASGEHAAK
Volgens Liezel Vermeulen, De Koker se dogter wat in Onder-Papegaaiberg woon, het haar pa elke keer wanneer hy in Stellenbosch was, by haar boetie se graf gaan draai.

“So maer soos wat hy was, was hy baie lief virkos, dus sal daar gewisbaie kos moet wees. Ditishoe hy dit sou wougehad het.”
OPDOWEORE

In November 2024, the municipality explained themarketdid not meetthe necessary municipal bylaws. At the time it cited the unsuitabilityofthe street as atrading area, lackof parking and consideration forother road users, among other reasons.
“Over the past year we did research and regularlyfollowed up with council members, members of thepublic aswell as municipal departments,” said the market’s Leani Breedt. “In December we metwith mayor JeremyFasser, who expressedhis support forre-opening the market and seta date.”
Breedtand DanneelStone, owner of the Adam& Eve Collab, are the co-founders of the market, which they established after the Covidlockdown in 2020.
Breedt said the team, including the vendors, areexcited about the market’s re-opening this weekend.
